Reviews of Clinical Strength Ltd

Clinical Strength has truly been worthwhile. I appreciate that Tom takes the time to evaluate my goals and how to achieve them, whilst accounting for my needs. Every session consistently leaves me feeling very positive.
Training with Clinical Strength has made a difference in my day to day health and fitness level. Always sufficiently challenged and motivated to do better with Tom. "You're stronger than you think you are." Clinical Strength will prove it to you!

I saw Jamie for 5 sessions after I had a Lumbar Discectomy. I was told by my surgeon he was the best person to go to before I started working out again. Jamie is an excellent trainer/Coach. Highly professional and very thorough. He showed me how to work out again without the worry of injuring myself again. Really good experience all round.

I’ve had the distinct pleasure of working with Laura M. from Clinical Strength. I could not be more pleased with the very professional and focused training that she continues to provide. Her experience working with athletes is apparent, and she’s able to relay appropriate training techniques to working professionals like me. I’m back to running regularly and am picking up kilometres and speed each week since training with Laura. The personalised teaching, facilities, and equipment are all top notch. Definitely recommend to others

I had been suffering from chronic issues for years that were limiting the range of my exercises. Oliver listened attentively and was quickly able to identify and help me gradually improve my fitness and strength, ultimately improving my day-to-day health immeasurably. I now have the tools and confidence to move forward on my own. I cannot recommend Clinical Strength enough. I felt in very safe and knowledgable hands the entire time. I'll be sure to return for another group of sessions. Oliver came to every session with positive vibes.. totally contagious and motivating after a long day of work.

Very tailored and customised experience with great attention to important details. The team are also very skilled / passionate about their work and always looking to grow and improve. Relentlessly focused on goals and giving their all, they are great role models even away from the goals that they set for their customers. Hard working trainers that will work you hard in a fun and safe environment

Amazingly, I've now been training 3 to 4 times a week with Jamie/Clinical Strength continuously for 17 months. Before this, I'd never managed to stick to any sort of training programme or physical goal for more than 6 weeks without an injury or my lack of discipline letting me down.
I have a lot of positive things (only positive!) to say about Jamie/Clinical Strength but I chose to start with this one because giving up after a strong start is such a common thing amongst all my friends and acquaintances--we're fairly typical and predictable, just like the January spike every year in gym membership and attendance.
So why is CS different? What makes me want to keep training, or dare I say it without sounding like I'm exaggerating, crave my training sessions? I have thought about this and it comes down to three things:
1. All of the CS training is deeply, deeply rooted in science--I've never met a trainer with so much knowledge and so many degrees, underpinned by personal experience garnered at elite-level of competition. As a result I trust that Jamie and the team are abreast of the latest knowledge, techniques and methodologies (not trends!). This combination gives me two things that contribute enormously to my ability and desire to stick with training. One: I know I'm not going to get hurt and lose all progress while I recover, and two: I know that the time I invest in training is going to give me optimal results, which is fundamental for me given my career-imposed time constraints. Another thing that contributes to excellent outcomes is that Jamie has an amazing ability to remember what I've done in terms of exercises, weights, sets and reps, and knows when to push me for a new PB without making it about my ego or letting me overdo it, which translates into great progress and motivation, and--I'll say it again--no injuries.
2. Everyone trains with different goals in mind. For me these were focused on having more energy (for work and to keep up with my three sons!) plus improved strength and flexibility. All of my workouts are tailored toward these objectives, in the same way they would be if my goal was a triathlon or to body build--Jamie has a track record to back up his approach that spans everything from rehabilitation to pro wrestling to elite athletics, or even just helping one look better at the beach!
3. Jamie is thoroughly professional. That means he's completely discrete, and will be as personal or impersonal as your needs and personality require. I trust him to come into my home and interact with my family as much as I trust him with my health and wellbeing. His professionalism also means he's not being pushy trying to sell me additional sessions or supplements I don't really need nor want, or advocating for the more expensive in person sessions versus online except when it makes sense for my personal goals. On the contrary, he's flexible and fits around my schedule, another thing I really appreciate; he'll meet you where you are and help you go where you want to go. He has enormous belief in me and this is true of the other clients of his I've happened to meet.
Finally, I'll say that Jamie and the team have a permanent growth mindset, both for their clients and themselves. Every time we train, there's new research to talk about or some new technique he's helping me perfect. That's one of the things that keeps me engaged and committed to my training goals: not only are we working on my body, we're working on my mind.
From a value, outcome and sheer helping-me-stick-to-it perspective, I could not recommend Jamie or CS any more highly.

Of all the fitness advice and training I’ve ever been given, Jamie and Clinical Strength had the biggest impact on the quality of my life! Jamie has a wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise that surpasses anything in the industry. He and his team are professionals, they are NOT fitness enthusiasts turned “personal trainers”.

I was lucky enough to meet the owner of Clinical Strength Ltd in a professional capacity a number of years ago whilst I was working as a physio in London Central. Jamie and his team provide athlete level programming that fits well with an end stage rehab/sports specific approach to treatment. When sending my patients to Jamie after recovering from an injury, I knew did so with the knowledge that the patient would then be safe hands going forward towards their training goals.

I cannot recommend Clinical Strength enough. I was lucky enough to come across the team through a recommendation, and training with Jamie and subsequently Laura has led to one of the biggest improvements to my well-being that I’ve seen in years. The whole team are exceptionally qualified, and Laura is careful to help me achieve my fitness goals whilst managing a bulging disc in my back. Laura provides a combination of in person sessions and routines I can do at home/ in the gym, ensuring she teaches me great form in person, before she leaves me to my own devices. They are one of a kind, and would recommend them to anyone who is either recovering from an injury or wants to achieve fitness goals!

Jamie is an excellent trainer and coach who is committed to developing bespoke fitness plans to help his clients achieve their goals. He works tirelessly to expand his own knowledge of all aspects of the fitness industry and to stay informed of new techniques and research developments. He also has extensive experience in prenatal and postnatal training. Jamie is calm, friendly and always has a positive attitude to provide his clients with support and motivation throughout their training journeys.

I have thoroughly enjoyed training with Jamie for almost 4 years. Originally our sessions focussed on addressing a previous shoulder injury and building a base level of competence in the gym. Since then we have progressed to more advanced strength training. Jamie achieves great results by structuring each session deliberately and scientifically.

Jamie and his team are a cut above. Previous experience of PTs that quite literally try to break you, where as the team at Clinical Strength try and succeed in building you. Going far beyond the physicality of the gym they thought about my overall health and wellbeing to build and guide me along a journey that has vastly improved my quality of life (lower back pain), strength and athleticism in sports. Professionals in every sense of the word, I could not recommend them more highly. They're also lovely people!

I've started training with Jamie at Clinical Strength over two years ago. He did an amazing job preparing an unfit office worker with back problems to go abroad and do a year of full time physical training after 20 years at a desk. Everything he does is rooted in science and research and whenever I ask a question about training, he has an answer based on the science - to put it another way, he always knows exactly why he's asking me to do something, its benefits and risks, and whether it is appropriate for me. When I came back, I returned to long term strength training with him and have seen consistent improvement in my abilities and how I look, as well as the cross-over into my sport-specific training, and I intend to train with Jamie over the long term to keep getting stronger.

The team at Clinical Strength are all easy to talk to and incredibly knowledgeable. I have referred the team clients who have injuries and chronic problems as well as committed to sessions myself. As a physio, it is incredibly easy to communicate with them regarding clients and they all have great ideas about how to progress people. I would highly recommend this team!

Jamie is an excellent trainer with a wealth of knowledgable and an academic background doing a PhD in Strength and Conditioning. As a Spinal surgeon myself I was very careful whom I chose but his dedication to detail, using the correct techniques and only allowing you to use the loads that are safe for you mean he is a level above any other strength and conditioning coach I've come across. I would highly recommend him even for people that have medical / musculoskeletal issues as well as those looking to improve strength and flexibility. He works with physios, pilates instructors and other doctors so has other expertise at hand when clients need it.

I trained with Jamie at Clinical Strength Ltd for a number of years before I left London. He helped me solve a recurring shoulder injury and I could not recommend him highly enough for his knowledge, professionalism and just being a great person to make training fun.
D. H.
I have been training with Jamie for a little more than two years, I chose to start using a personal trainer after suffering a badly dislocated shoulder that lead to surgery following repeated relapses. Jamie’s patience and exceptional knowledge of sports rehab have allowed me to develop my confidence in the gym and, most importantly, has meant no further trouble with my shoulder. I am happier and healthier than ever and so couldn’t recommend his treatment plan and fitness programme any more highly.

I have had lower back pain for years and was recommended Jamie Farrell as a trainer. The exercises Jamie suggested only took a few minutes each day and alleviated my back pain quickly. I highly recommend Jamie, he is a knowledgeable and experienced back pain specialist.
S. R.
Whatever your reasons for seeking personal training, I highly recommend Jamie Farrell. I do many sports and fitness activities. As a former health service professional I like to train with experienced people who understand anatomy, physiology and sports psychology. I sustain regular injuries and can also be severely asthmatic. Jamie is one of a small group of my top favourite fitness and wellbeing professionals. He has extensive, deep rooted knowledge (his list of professional accreditations, sports achievements and academic qualifications gives you a snapshot), he also has incredibly broad experience along with care and passion for his work. He has trained me through life’s good times in strength, conditioning, flexibility, olympic lifting, injury recovery (shoulder surgery, ripped ankle ligaments and torn hamstring) and through life’s real bad times with exercises to cheer and motivate. I trust in him 100%. He has an informed, thoughtful, thorough approach and always makes sure you work to the best of your ability with correct technique.

Jamie is the best PT I’ve known in years. He really knows what he is doing. He has a personal approach to a client, updates my training according to all the changes in my health. My body feels and looks so much better, after I’ve started training with him.
S. K.
Been training with Jamie for a few months now. I am a climber and have been stuck with a lower back issue for over 2 years. After multiple physio sessions and seeing multiple doctors, I was finally referred to Jamie and training with him finally meant that I could run again. He is super dedicated, very educated about the body, physical fitness and very diligent about training you. Highly recommend the man - sadly there can be only one of him.

I am a physiotherapist and rely on a network of professionals to ensure my clients are treated as part of a team to ensure all their health care needs are met and all elements of their injury are addressed. I have been working with Jamie for many years and I trust him with my clients to ensure they achieve their goals. Jamie carries out a comprehensive assessment and implements a programme that works for that individual. He gives 100% to all his clients whether they want to lose weight, train for a competition or wants to fully recover from injury. I highly recommend Jamie to all my clients.
S. B.
Jamie is a great trainer with an incredible level of knowledge. He genuinely cares about his clients and is clearly passionate about his work. He puts in a lot time outside of sessions to develop bespoke programmes and make sure you’re working towards your goals. During training, he always took the time to educate me and explain the whys and hows of every exercise/movement.
T. O.
Jamie is an exceptional trainer with an incredible depth of knowledge and expertise in strength and conditioning training. He is also a gifted teacher - making sure you learn how to execute exercises with perfect form. I would recommend him to anyone who takes their training or rehab seriously, is motivated and wants to work with a pro a cut above the rest.
M. G.
I have been training with Jamie for around 4 years now. Jamie has tremendous qualifications and is excellent at focusing on rehabilitation. He has helped me correct my posture and the way I generally carry out day to day activities. He strikes the right balance between challenge but also making sure I carry out my exercises correctly. He is very motivating and thanks to him I now make sure I exercise at least 3 times a week.

I was referred to Clinical Strength by my orthopaedic surgeon. When I started training, I had days when excruciating back pain made it almost impossible to walk or carry my young son. I was also reluctantly giving up certain aspects of my professional life that required lifting and strength, but now, to my amazement, I can lift my body weight and live pain free.
B. M.
Jamie has done a great job helping me recover from a long term back injury and training me to build my strength and fitness. He’s superbly qualified and I recommend Clinical Strength highly.
J. G.
I was referred to Jamie by a specialist to help with rehab and getting back into the gym after a rib injury. Jamie is extremely knowledgable, detailed, accommodating and flexible to whatever your needs are. After only a few sessions he got me back training with confidence, and has set me up with great fundamentals to use myself going forward.

I enjoyed my recovery sessions against the lower back pain with Jamie and Laura. Loved their professional approach. I was able to get the best wanted results within short period of time. Can not recommend them enough!

I came to Laura after an initial period of physiotherapy and pilates following a fracture. Clinical was recommended by my spine surgeon as a next step. Laura's been brilliant. She's pushed me along in my recovery and been very motivating!

Trainers do not come any more experienced and knowledgeable than Jamie. His approach to Health and well-being is groundbreaking and I love working out with Jamie and his team x

I suffered a serious back injury in 2012 and have been limited in what I could do since then...until I met Jamie.
I started seeing Jamie over a year ago and his scientific approach to training, innovative regimes to keep things interesting and patient but progressive approach to helping someone achieve their goals has really helped me and I cannot recommend him highly enough.
A. G.
I would highly recommend Jamie as he takes a rigorous, scientific approach to your training regime. He was recommended to me by an osteopath with the phrase, “Jamie is one of the very few PTs I would trust to focus on both health and exercise”. Jamie isn’t cheap, but as with most things in life, you get what you pay for!

I have been working with personal trainer Laura Marchesini in the Clinical Stregth team. Laura helped me to improve my physical condition which had been affected by years on a desk job.
Under her guidance I got rid of aches and pains, discovered the pleasure of exercising and even started strength training. Laura is extremely competent and impressively qualified, she makes sure you learn correct form and become confident. She explains the mechanics of movement and gives sound lifestyle advice. She is also always available to answer any questions you might have. I am extremely satisfied and would recommend her to anyone.

Great day with the self-proclaimed 'weirdly famous' Dan John. Well organised by Jamie and his team in a super venue for this workshop.

A bright honest professional in a normally cloudy industry
Very professional, knowledgeable every time when I worked with Jamie at Clinical Strength
Greatly respected coach amongst our peers

Been training with Jamie for years now and best I've ever had. Takes it really seriously, cares about his clients and educates you along the way. Shame about his dress sense but no ones perfect.
