I have been training with Sam for over 6 months and the quality of the service delivered has been outstanding. Sam is a delightful, thoughtful and highly professional trainer who has worked really hard to deliver the optimal training programme for myself throughout the lockdowns etc. I am absolutely delighted with the results of the programme that Sam has devised which so far has resulted in my losing over 6Kg in weight and a significant change in my body shape. I can highly recommend the service offered by Common Purpose.

I have been working with Sam for two years. He is an incredibly competent and professional personal trainer. However, his greatest quality is the personal focus he puts on each of his clients. Over the last two years the guys from Common Purpose have truly changed my life! When I started I could barely pick up a pencil off the ground due to a bad back and now I am lifting 50+kg deadlifts! Moreover I am having the best time while I train - all three of them are so kind, care so much about their clients and are so so fun! Beyond the improvement in physical health, Sam has guided me through overall improvement of well being. He truly knows how to adapt to each individual and mirror their mood even with the training programme vs. following a rigid regime. I have found that to be truly motivating and what keeps me always on track even in the most difficult weeks! I can keep going but I think you should try for yourself!

I've been training with these guys for 2.5 years now - usually 4x / week. All very dedicated, and great positive energy. They know how important it is to adapt a program for your individual objectives; and to adapt each session to how you're feeling - both mentally and physically. Totally flexible and user-friendly in every way. Great teamwork between all 3 - covering and helping each other in so many ways; well coordinated and organized and professional. Working hard on your behalf after hours with tips, research, etc. I've had a 7-8 different regular trainers in the last 12 years - these guys are easily the best experience. I've trained with Sam and Tiago for over 4 years now and during that time they have taken me to new levels of strength and mobility that I thought were unattainable. Having a form of rheumatism with a partly fused spine I've always felt in very safe hands in the knowledge their training regimes are personally designed to suit my physical limitations whilst pushing me outside (sometimes way outside) of my comfort zone. Its been 24 years since i first started personal training and all i can say is the past 4 that i have been training with Tiago ( and from time to time Sam and Dan) have -hands down - been the best. I have, in that time, achieved many personal bests and felt stronger and fitter than i ever imagined I could. I have also benefited from their patient and effective rehab after a frustrating period of ill health. But it is also way more than that. CP are a great team who seamlessly support each other and us. They are fun and informative and always feel like progress and while it may be hard work on occasion i always feel better afterwards. Where do I start? Best personal trainers I have come across over the years. Incredibly knowledgeable, always researching the latest science and data to evidence their claims and practices, dedicated, supportive, motivating, open minded and so much fun to be around. Their current facilities are state of the art and conveniently located just a stone throw away from Oxford Circus. But their practice goes way beyond traditional personal training! It’s a 360degree overhaul of your lifestyle: nutrition, stress management, mindfulness, sleep hygiene, etc. Best decision you’ll ever make...

I got a lot more than I expected.
I’m a first timer to “personal training”, so bear with me if this is commonly expected in the industry, but on top of both educating me in the correct technique, creating a long-term personal training schedule, Tiago and the team at Common Purpose did the following:
- initial introduction plan; walk through of importance of weight training over cardio-only workouts, importance of sustainable work out schedule.
- workout by muscle groups; knowledgable in the utility of specific muscles, which you should be feeling during routines (I was worried about injuring myself whilst taking on load).
- personalised nutritional packs; handpicked recipes and allowed foods from Gousto, Pret, Itsu and other high street shops (my goal is focused around weight loss rather than muscle gain).
Would highly recommend these guys for anyone wanting to make a long term change. They have shorter term plans for others with specific goals in min (iron man, rowing competitions etc)
