I went to James with recurring issues in my shoulders, both have been operated on. Focusing on my specific needs James has been able to restore my confidence in my shoulders, allowing me to play sport without worry for the first time in years, and build strength. Highly recommended.

I started working with James after a 5 month absence from the gym due to lockdown, with a view to losing weight, building confidence in my workouts and reestablishing my pre-lockdown fitness.
James clearly understood and listened to what I wanted to achieve, and has put together a bespoke, robust and achievable program for me to follow. In a very short space of time I was seeing my fitness and strength progress, and our weekly sessions are something I always look forward to. James’ expertise and knowledge of health and fitness are absolutely second to none, and his answers to any questions I have reflect that completely. Outside of our weekly sessions, James provides me with a fully supported coaching program that pushes me just enough to keep me engaged and focused on my goals - not being a particularly sporty person myself, this is something that’s very important to me.
Further support is available by his absolutely excellent and regularly updated social media channels - you can tell health and fitness is genuine passion for James, not “just a job”.
On top of all of this, James is a genuinely friendly, caring and encouraging coach and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him as a personal trainer to anyone, regardless of ability or fitness level.

James is a fantastic PT. He offers coaching beyond your standard weights and encourages whole body movements to promote strength, muscle gain and weight loss.
The variety of exercises covered makes the experience more interesting, enjoyable and sustainable.
Even though I am not the most committed gym goer training with James has made me a lot stronger and the difference was noticeable quite quickly.
His chat ain’t too bad either.

James is Incredible! It feels like he is a miracle worker. Although you are doing the work and putting in the time and effort it is still shocking when you get to your second test week and you are stronger than you would have believed possible. I've been so impressed with my progress, my strength has increased exponentially because he keeps the workouts fresh, fun but also stable and achievable. I've lost fat and inches and am far more toned but best of all is I've started to feel powerful.
His plans are tailor made to your goals and I achieved my first goal in the first week!!! He knows exactly what he is doing and though trusting the process can be hard I've found trusting James extremely easy.
James' knowledge about fitness and the body permeates into the way his plans and training programs are set up to ensure you are safe and completing the exercise with correct form. With his help I have been able to squat with a far better range of motion despite having disproportionately long legs.
James is a superhero and he makes you feel like one too 💪🏾

James is my personal trainer for over nine months. My initial goals were to build strengths and develop my mobility and flexibility. We focused initially on exercises using my own body weight. These really helped me to build basics for further training. In particular I enjoyed hand stands, crawls and squats to gain correct form. Now we focus on lifting weights and we can see improvement in terms of technique and the weights I lift. I find James’ approach very thoughtful and professional. He is also kind and determined. He tracks my progress and he takes me to basic movements if my mobility or strength is not sufficient. He makes sure that we have strong foundations before we increase the weights or move on to more complex exercises. James also gives useful nutrional advice. As an academic my work is office based and it is not conducive to sustain correct posture. With James I have seen improvement in my posture, body image and overall confidence. I look forward to our sessions as they set me well for my work later in the day. I trust his professional opinion and feel that I am in good hands to practise with him.

I've been working with James for about 7 months and could not recommend him more! At the start of the year, a back injury meant I could barely move, let alone get to the gym. James has been absolutely instrumental in getting me from that point, to where I am today. He has great knowledge about my injuries and has always developed our sessions to work with and react to my back in a way that has meant I am constantly improving and getting stronger. I have seen huge progress in what I am able to do, but James has also introduced me to a huge variety of exercises, so there's no stagnation or boredom. I have to say that James did more than I expected in terms of training. This is not only about making training programs and cheering you up when performing the exercises, the experience with James is a dynamic process, on-going everyday. Really instructed on sport, health and nutrition, James uses all his knowledge to build up a complete, tailored to your needs program that balances your expectations with respect to your health and abilities, including a nutrition part. Unfortunately I had to stop my training experience with him because of relocation... But I am sure I won't find somebody else as good as him.

When I was looking at my options for personal training sessions, James stood out because of his emphasis on exercises and workouts focused on calisthenics and natural body movements. As someone who was focused on getting stronger, I found Jame’s approach to be very inline with that.
From lifting weights to pull ups and kettlebells, the workouts were intense but very gratifying. All of it felt natural and I didn’t feel I was doing things that I wouldn’t normally do (i.e lifting things). I went from not being being able to do more than 1 pull up to now being able to do 10 times that. I can also deadlift my own weight which again was a significant personal milestone.
I would highly recommend James to anyone looking to improve their health and get stronger in the process.

I started training with James fundamentally to address some on-going knee issues that have inhibited my training over the past couple of years. Lack of trust in my knees and some mobility issues made squatting difficult and painful. I’m only a few sessions in with James and my back squat, front squat and overhead squat have improved dramatically. I actually enjoy squats now ! We have also been working on some callisthenics and I’ve almost got my first muscle up. I’m looking forward to seeing how much I can progress over the next few months.

I’ve been training with James for about 9 months now and I like to think this is just the beginning. I love James’s creativity in developing a type of training that is perfect for me and my needs- I am a practitioner of Ashtanga, a challenging system of yoga, and we’ve been using the sessions to improve my strength and active mobility on specific muscle groups that are key to my practice. I have been training with James Lee Of JL Fitness Solutions for about 12 weeks and I’m already seeing great results. I have lost 5kg. The training James has provided has been first class. He has excellent knowledge of the body and how to build strength.
He has been a very useful guide to my nutrition also, think like most people is the tricky part of getting into shape. He has expert knowledge in this area too. Just understanding the caloric deficiency of certain foods and how this can effect your progress. There were certain foods, snacks like flapjacks for example, I didn’t realise how many calories were in one flapjack with is the equivalent of the same amount I could be having in a nutritious full meal. Knowing this allows you to work these snacks into your nutrition without overeating high caloric foods.
Having an expert like James who can guide you will save you a lot of time, energy and guessing. If you have questions he is always willing and there to guide you, both inside the gym and outside the gym. James has also helped me get back into gymnastics Rings workouts after about 10 years off from doing these exercises (I have some videos of our sessions on my Instagram profile @astenregis so you can see some of my progress for yourself). Gymnastics Rings is probably the hardest strength building tool, especially when carrying over 100kg as I was, so this is testament to James’ expert, first class training. Highly recommended, worth every penny,
