Goose was very good and knows his stuff inside out!! I asked his help for a bike fit as I had some bad pains after 100km on my new bike. Worst parts were my left knee, elbows, neck and shoulders. After fine tuned my left cleat, saddle and handlebar positions, 200km onwards I haven’t had any problems. He is brilliant!!
It was unfortunate we couldn’t fit my bike onto his trainer but he still offered helps wherever he could and decided not to charge me as he felt the job could have been done better.
Goose - if you decide to start training again do let me know. I’m in!

I had been adjusting my bike position on/off for over a year but could never get it right and after starting to suffer hip joint pain I eventually decided to do a bike-fit session with Goose. He was able to quickly spot issues that I wasn’t able to determine by myself plus identify some other adjustment tweaks I had not noticed. For the price, it was an effective and easy way to find a new position, stop the major problems and also Goose is open about that it will take time to adjust / will feel different but gives you confidence that after spending time it will be better and that you can go back to him to tweak if further.

I had 10 PT sessions with Goose a few summers ago and would definitely recommend. He extracted more out of me than I thought was possible and helped me identify the areas I needed to improve. I also received tips that I still use every time I'm out running or cycling and pointers to race faster. He also helped me with my bike fit which improved how much power I could put into the road.
Overall, I think Goose is an excellent personal trainer and after 10 sessions a friend. I will definitely be back in contact for more in the future and if you want to get fitter, race better or just sweat a lot I recommend you do too!

18 months ago I started Goose spin classes in order to improve my new-found love of road cycling. I soon realised how effective a structured session with the right instructor can make such a difference. Personal training then followed! I cannot recommend Goose as a PT instructor highly enough. He is motivational, knowledgeable and committed to ensuring his clients achieve their full potential. So, 18 months later - Ireland Coast to Coast, Italy Coast to Coast and the Dragon Ride 2016 all completed. I have reached a level I never thought was possible. Thank you Goose.

Goose is an excellent personal trainer and has really helped me improve both my swimming and cycling for my triathlon training. My swimming was transformed from being my weakest discipline to one I feel strong in and enjoy in just a few sessions. One on one cycling sessions and group spin classes have also resulted in a big improvement for me. He is a pleasure to work with – the sessions are always fun whilst pushing you right to your limits. I would certainly highly recommend him to anyone who wants to get stuck in to some hard training and needs some inspiration and help in achieving their goals.

Goose has been a Consulting Trainer to Oxford Univ Women's Lightweight Rowing for many years, primarily conducting spinning sessions as an alternative to our water and usual gym training. Goose generates the required intensity in an encouraging but challenging way. He can quickly assess an athlete's strengths and weaknesses and tailors his sessions accordingly. He knows when to push and when to praise. His training has become a cornerstone of our Boat Race preparation. Highly recommended if you have goals (athletic, general fitness or weight management) to achieve. Chris O'Hara (Head Coach)

Goose has transformed my life. He is hugely knowledgeable, great fun to train with and down to earth whilst pushing me to my absolute limits when needed. I can’t recommend him more highly.

Goose's spinning class is the most intense and effective fitness class that I have ever attended. Goose is a master of spotting individual strengths and weaknesses whilst spinning and his skilled instruction is always immediate, robust and to the point.
If you want to get fit with a trainer who is 100% committed to pushing you to achieve your best, then this is the class for you.

OK so there are moments when I have wanted to push him off his bike (as he tells me to "turn it up a little") but I have loved Goose's Monday night spinning class since I started doing it. Yes it's 90 minutes of sweaty, leg pumping hell but it's also a huge contributor to my fitness and he is so charming, committed and authentic that it's a pleasure to see that broad smile once a week.
If you want someone to go easy on you and admire your Lululemons then this is not the man, but if you are committed to getting fitter, pushing yourself further and exploring your limits then I highly recommend Goose

If you are looking for a fantastic personal trainer, look no more - Goose is the best! Over the last few years it is impossible to do justice to what Goose has done for my fitness levels and quality of life. I was in my mid-forties when I first started seeing Goose for PT sessions and over the last couple of years I have also been to his weekly 90 minute Spin classes (yes, 90 minutes!). He makes you work very hard, but will tailor it to what you need on any particular day. He does this incredibly well, so you invariably feel that he has taken you to your limit each session! He has helped me do JOGLE (John O'Groats to Land's End) cycle last year and numerous sportives including Ride London and the Jurassic Beast. I cannot recommend Goose strongly enough - he has made a huge difference to my mid-life!

Goose is a truly excellent personal trainer and whether you are a serious athlete or an out of condition granny his approach ensures you achieve the best possible results. He gives you confidence and boosts your self-esteem but always pushes you to go just a little further than you thought you could. Your programme is carefully designed to fit with your needs and preferences and Goose pays close attention as you work, varying exercises and adjusting weights according to how you respond. This all sounds very serious, but above all sessions with Goose are fun and I always leave feeling good about myself; exhausted, but lighthearted.

Goose has shown me how to train; we've had some tough sessions, but always a few laughs to get threw that last push! Never thought I had a triathlon in me, but thanks to Goose I've completed 3 x Triathlons and a London -Oxford bike ride! Good to know with Goose that it doesn't matter how old you are, he can still help you reach your goals.

I started training indoors with Goose to compliment my road cycling outdoors (where its harder to push yourself when you're alone!). The enthusiasm and knowledge this guy has put into my training had made a massive difference to my road riding ability and general fitness in just a few short months. Top quality trainer.

If you are looking for a way to increase your cycling power-endurance over the winter for the upcoming year, look no further! I've attended Goose's spin class over previous winters, targeted specifically at cyclists. I like his no-nonsense approach, and I know he has the racing background and performance knowledge to get me where I want to be. After a brief chat about my goals, we decided on an eight week course of 90 minute sessions, once per week, mixing free-weights and bike intervals.
Sessions consisted of a wide variety of exercises, often working in pyramids. I was kept interested with weighted lunges, squats, dead-lifts, kettle-bells exercises, plyometrics and bike power intervals, with some balance exercises for core, and some limited upper body exercises to give a rounded workout.
I opted to have the sessions early in the morning before work. The first week I was useless for the rest of the day. The second week was somewhat better, and by week three as my body adapted I was enjoying pushing myself as hard as I could (which Goose clearly enjoys). Sessions progressed, weights increased, box jumps got higher, and Goose requested bigger efforts.
After 6 weeks the sessions were clearly having an effect out on the bike; feeling stronger over the tops of hills and sustaining efforts on the flats. Part of the gains are the improvements resulting from the sessions, but just as important is adopting Goose's 'work to your limits mindset', which these sessions promote in abundance.
My final session was really tough, but on the day of my first early season race, all the hard work paid off, and I performed far better than expected, being able to follow the important moves and placing 4th overall. Money well spent.

I had a lactate test with Goose to help me target the right heart rate to train at during marathon training. He was thorough, professional and gave me exactly the results I was after. I left feeling empowered and motivated. I fully recommend him and am very grateful.

Goose exudes enthusiasm and passion for health and fitness - he practices what he preaches, ringing pints of sweat out of his socks after his legendary Monday night spinning classes! I had been training in the same way for many years and have regularly completed marathons, ultras, triathlons, ironman and multi-day endurance events - but since adding in weekly spinning training with Goose my performance and endurance has improved, (despite my increasing age)

Goose patiently coaxed me over many sessions, encouraging me when I refused (and I'm good at that!) to push myself just that little bit more, carefully giving me work outs that suited me and my approach (stubborn), and all with good humour, none of the army style PT that some trainers work on, I genuinely looked forward to my sessions with Goose and would recommend him to anyone. Had I not moved away I'd still be there 3x a week!

Goose runs an excellent spin class. Not for the faint hearted! He will get the best out of you regardless of your current level. He takes time to get to know all the members of his class and takes a personal interest in helping you improve.

What a class! Puddles of sweat, personalised tuition (there's no escaping with an 'easy' setting - Goose knows your individual capabilities and makes sure you are always at the right RPM/Wattage), great music and determined classmates that all keep you motivated. Not a class for the faint hearted but if you want to improve your cycling performance this is the class for you. I can't recommend it highly enough.

I’ve trained with Goose (Gustavo Dean at Oxford Personal Training) for over 5 years. He’s a great personal trainer – he listens to you and to what you are looking to achieve, pushes you to improve, keeps things interesting, and always ensures that the time you spend with him is enjoyable as well as productive. I unreservedly recommend him.

I did a bike fit with Gustavo and I have to say, I am very pleased with the results! The knee problems seem to be gone and my bike rides are more comfortable. I can recommend going to Gustavo if you are having some pains while on the bike. He works very thorough (we spent nearly two hours on the bike fit) and he really aims to make the bike fit perfect to you. He is also an extremely friendly guy and it is very easy to arrange an appointment with him.

Before my bike fit with Gustavo, I could ride a maximum of 50km in a day before my shoulders and neck were so painful that I had to stop. Two days after my bike fit, I rode 90km and for once it was my legs that hurt for two days afterwards instead of my neck. I would very much recommend his services!

Great personal trainer. His spins classes are a must the only ones like it in Oxford!. If you want results and are prepared to work hard choose goose You won't be disappointed.

I met Gustavo for a bike fitting due to problems I had been having with my knee and immediately felt in safe hands. He talked me through all the adjustments he was making and helped me understand why I was feeling the pain. I can’t wait to get out on the bike again and see how it all feels. Would definitely recommend!

Joined Goose's spin class to help prepare for the NC500 earlier this year. You have to be prepared to battle and beat your inner Schweinehund.
It worked - was thinking off the beats and encouragement going up the Baelach-na Ba! Thank you, Goose!

Goose got me through IronMan and an Alpine section of the Etape. Simply the best personal trainer around, fact.
He is also a really lovely bloke!

Just did a Lactate Threshold (LT) test with Gustavo. Really good stuff. Discovered my max HR was higher than I thought (and my Garmin says) but that my LTHR was bang on for what I suspected and can now train with confidence too.
Even got to do a 1 mile TT around the Iffley Rd track ... rather a lot slower than Sir Roger did over 60 years ago!

My mum has been training with this guy for two years and started to see the benefits straight away! She became more cheerful and active, all thanks to his highly professional approach. Would highly recommend!

Just got done with my first spin class. I have to say I'm impressed. I can't remember ever being pushed that hard before but I'll definitely be back for more.

You won’t get a better motivational kick up the proverbial than this spin class. If you want to be pushed, this is the place.
