3 months in and the results are incredible. David and Anna are there every step of the way when you need them. All I can go on is where I started and where I am now but I’m the lightest I’ve been in years, have so much more energy and with a more positive attitude. I have a much better understanding of what I’m eating and how my lifestyle affects my body. And it feels easily sustainable rather than a ‘quick fix’ kind of approach.

I initially trained with David back in 2011 when he got me into tiptop shape for competition.
I then moved away and ended up gaining 20kg of fat. Anyway after another chat with David 11 years later he promised to get me back to my competing ways. Him and Anna not only motivated me to lose the 20kg of fat I had gained but also to lose a further 11kg totalling in a 31kg loss and still going.
My confidence has been boosted and I am back to my old self with my blood results better than ever.
I work out at 6am daily and have regular messages from David and Anna checking in on me as part of the better you project.
They make me feel happy and I am thankful for there knowledge to get me where I am today.

I started training with David just before the gyms started to re open and I’m so glad I did! David has taught me sooo much about food and about working out. I’ve had many laughs even on the days when I couldn’t be bothered to go. My main goal was to fit into my wedding dress that I brought and couldn’t even do up and with in the 5/6 months of training with David we got there and even had a bit of room to move around in. He is an extremely good trainer with plenty of encouragement and praise without being too pushy. He makes the sessions fun, plus always checks on your wellbeing outside of sessions. I started training with David @ DC Fitness in early 2013. With a busy lifestyle I have always struggled to dedicate time to achieving my desired goals.
When I joined DC Fitness, I was at my heaviest and very unhappy, David taught me how to maintain and reduce my weight even whilst I wasn’t in the gym. He has helped me to continue to push through my Plateaus (almost like a wall where you can’t get past a certain weight) to achieve over 10kg’s of weight loss and continue to maintain a steady weight. In one instance where I was struggling to see further change, David asked me if I wanted to take a DNA make up test to evaluate if there was more to why we weren’t seeing change, he was right. We establish what my intolerances were and I was able to make changes to my diet which helped me push past a very difficult plateau.
Not only has be helped me physically achieve my goals but he has been an amazing mental coach too. He listens and helps with fitness but also try’s to help pick up your general mood from the smiles, regular check up messages and genuine care for his customers.
I could not recommend a better all round PT to help you achieve your goals, thank you David.

I’ve been training with David for just over a year now, and have started having more regular sessions in the last 6-7 months. I first went along to a session with my mum, as I’d not long fractured my ankle and was struggling with recovery, both physically and from a confidence point of view. I’m so glad I went to that first session as David was so friendly from the get go, and helped me so much with getting my ankle working again and giving me the confidence to get back to netball. He gave me loads of exercises to do at home and tailored the sessions to build up strength in my ankle again. Since then he’s helped me build up my fitness and lose weight I’ve been trying to lose for I don’t know how long! I honestly look forward to every session so much, even on mornings when I don’t feel like exercising David manages to get me back to myself within about 5 minutes of stepping through the door! Every session is completely different to the last and at the same time they’re tailored to you and what goals you want to achieve. David is an awesome PT / person in general and would recommend him 1000 times over ☺️

I came to David, overweight with high blood pressure and within a matter of months, I was back down into the safety zone. So along with pretty much saving my life David has given me more confidence within myself and become truly one of my best friends.

I don't know where to start, David is one of the most motivational people I have ever met. He makes the training sessions interesting, fun and different every week and I've never met anyone who likes to dance around as much as David does. I think one of the best factors of training with DC total fitness other than seeing my weight loss is how personal David is. I have been training with David for almost a year now and what a year it has been, I have loved every minute of it.
I initially contacted David after many failed attempts to get back into some kind of fitness routine which, being a working mum, wife …. always seemed to come at the bottom of the priority list for far too long.
David has not only made a massive difference to my fitness and strength, but far more importantly for me, training with him every week has given me confidence that I'd not really realised I had lost and made a huge improvement to my general wellbeing.
Each week is tailored to suit me, we have trained through an ongoing shoulder injury, which has not as yet returned (something regular physio didn't achieve).

I have been training at DC Total Fitness in Reading for nearly a year and over this time I have found my love for training again - even if I still struggle to motivate myself to stay away from Prosecco :0)
I can only say from my positive experience that it has been fun filled and a lot of laughter in every session I have done. He knows his stuff but unlike previous trainers I have trained with around the area, he manages to get the best out me with out having to shout and scream.
He is always constructive and ever improving by using apps that I can instantly access on my phone and he seems to be like big brother helping me with nutrition and my activity to keep me being on top form.
Whenever you need motivation, knowledge or a home workout plan to do, he's on the end of the phone (although he usually sends these out each week before you need to ask!).
Each session has been completely unique and very challenging at times. Every month, David has a ‘gym challenge’ that puts every client against each other to achieve more than you would normally.
His gym is like my own personal gym in that hour and if you lack a bit of confidence in a big commercial gym environment, he is still affordable whether you’re looking for someone to kick start a healthier lifestyle or a long term fitness plan.
He has a range of high quality equipment, which further adds to his own expertise to produce a fantastic service.
I would highly recommend David at DC Total Fitness for anyone looking for a personal trainer in the Reading area and I look forward to continuing training with him.

I have been training with Dave on and off for nearly 7 years now and am hoping to continue to do so for as long as I can.
The actual exercise side of it is of course great and is proven by the results he helps you to achieve, however what makes Dave a great trainer in my opinion are the other aspects he offers...
Motivation - regularly contacting you to see how you are doing, how exercise/diet is progressing, and just in general to see how your overall wellbeing is.
Great health knowledge - I have a long-standing muscular issue caused by a previous injury - of which Dave is very knowledgeable and has given me great tips to avoid further injuries
Keeping things fresh - Dave is a happy, upbeat person who understands that training can get boring and stale so does his best to make sessions fun and engaging week in, week out.
Would highly recommend to anybody looking for more than just your average PT

I first started working with David in the summer, having previously worked with a PT before I thought it would be more of the same, but I was completely wrong, David is so full of knowledge and knows exactly what he’s doing. I have learned to look at nutrition in a new light and can really see such changes in myself and my fitness, working with David is also never dull, he’s so full of life and you can see he does what he loves and enjoys teaching his clients so much. I have been training with David for just over 2 months now and I can safely say that he has has successfully pushed me further towards my body goal!
My body fat % has reduced from 20.8% to 16.7%, I have lost inches from my waist, bottom belly & hips and I have increased my overall muscle mass, as well as increasing definition in my chest and both of my arms & legs. My endurance and strength have both improved and I can actively see those results by my improved cardio/lifting performance in the gym.
I find that David manages to push me to my limit without having a shouty army drill instructor vibe about him, his personality is second to none and his constant positivity makes every work out all the more enjoyable (I’m a very positive person my self but I’d like to have some of whatever Dave taking, haha!). Also, David’s knowledge of nutrition is outstanding, I hold him responsible for finding me the tastiest Vegan protein shake in the entire world! His knowledge has also allowed me to ensure that I’m successfully hitting my macros on a daily basis, giving my body the right nutrition to continue making steps towards my goal.
Another thing that makes David stand apart from the rest is that outside of the workouts, Dave is constantly in touch with me through WhatsApp, making sure I’m good and he is always willing to talk to me about anything if I’m not. I’d say Dave is more than just a personal trainer, he operates more like a personal support system, but that’s just how he is and credit where credit is due.
I’d recommend David to anyone looking to make improvements to their endurance, strength and overall health / state of mind, the positive atmosphere he creates is effortless and a positive mind = positive results!

I have trained on and off with David for several years, and consistently for the last year and a half. He is really motivational and keeps you going even when you want to give up, often sending a motivational message between sessions (somehow often sensing when you're considering eating something less than healthy). No matter what mood you turn up in, after a few minutes you are smiling - although sometimes it's closer to a grimace! It is a great way to mentally switch off from the stresses of everyday life, knowing you're in safe hands, and going to leave happier, healthier and stronger.

I originally started with David from a recommendation from a local Facebook group, to whip me in shape for my wedding. Despite being a absolute rascal, who loves the vino. I lost over 57 cm round my body, which is a huge achievement as I like to go out and enjoy myself and have a busy social calendar. Even though I currently can't walk because of him, working out with David from DC Total Fitness for the last 15 months is always a delight.
No matter what mood I am in, or how unmotivated I am when I get there, I always come out feeling great and that's in no small part down to David being slightly mad and always making the gym fun.
At first I didn't see the value of a PT, but having someone who has the knowledge and the ability to structure your routines for your body type and end goals is worth every penny.
That said David is not like other PTs I have worked with, 'his door is always open' by which I mean he is only a message or phone call away and can be contacted almost 247. However... this works both ways, as he is for ever nagging, I mean encouraging, me to fill in my food diary or up my step game.
I guess it all works as I have lost a good amount of weight and am starting to develop definition in places I didn't even know existed. David is more than just my PT he is my therapists too!

Soooo, I was lethargic, unmotivated and ‘broken’ - as in so many injuries I couldn’t do anything at the gym. Then I started going to David for training sessions - and what a difference! The injuries are improving all the time, workouts are geared to my level but they’re challenging and fun, and it doesn’t stop there. I go through phases of getting really fit and motivated like lots of people do. He has always been there for me whether im training or not. I don't even know where to begin with this review, I've been training with david on and off for a few years now. He always manages to fit me back in to his busy week and get me motivated again. David makes it so enjoyable and fun with his constant banter and silly voices, He's so encouraging the most positive person I've ever met and totally understanding with everything.
I have a lot of allergies, and basically I can only eat fruit, vegetables, chicken and chocolate buttons (a lot of chocolate buttons) so it's been very hard at times to make sure I'm having the correct diet but he's also helped with that. I have so much more knowledge now when it comes to food, exercises and my general health!
If anyone is looking for a dedicated, fun loving personal trainer .. david is your guy!

I could tell you about how excellent his workouts are, but that’s not what sets him apart from every other personal trainer
Where David really excels is at getting the best out of you.
Since joining, I’ve never worked so hard and felt so good about it. He listens to everything you tell him and tailors the workout accordingly, he provides good, positive feedback and motivates you to the point that he’s not telling you that you have to do any of this. You want to.
Yes, the workouts are excellent and I’ve been able to drop the excess weight and giggle the whole way through, but I also feel better about myself, I’m happier, and I actually look forward to seeing him at the end of a hard day – where I used to just want to go home and pray for the day to be over.
I also feel like I can achieve things – not only in exercise – that I just assumed I wouldn’t be able to.
If you’re on the fence, just give it a go.
