Had a PCR test for myself and my partner to get back home. Easily booked, if a little pricey. But the staff are excellent and the test is done by a professional. Very easy, no hassle and 100%. Excellent service. Unfortunately I have tested positive for COVID, and because I have leukaemia, I am entitled to anti-virals. I was told to expect them the following day, 2 hours later they were delivered. Taking the meds ASAP is important, and this is a very stressful time. I’m so grateful for their speed and efficiency.

Took a RT-PCR test for travelling abroad. Staff members were very courteous. Had to book and cancel tests several times because of flight cancellations but the entire process was smooth and took no time at all. Also appreciate the fact that payment wasn’t required at the time of booking, would’ve been a hassle with all the cancellations. Staff observed all safety procedures and took the swab samples. It was done gently and didn’t hurt at all. I was also explained clearly how to register my test kit online. Best part: Got my test results in less then 24 hours!

Chaz was just brilliant, he came to the hotel early on Saturday morning, tested everyone and an hour later they had their travel certificates. He’s friendly and very professional. Amazing service from Newington Pharmacy. I looked around in finding a PCR test in order to travel, a lamp test/antigen test was not sufficient for my destination and I wanted peace of mind in having the test done on site and not having to worry about finding your own courier etc. I needed the test within 72 hours of travel. All of my requirements were met in a short turn around which made my experience completely stress free. I am so glad that I chose Newington this pharmacy, there is no messing about, really professional and so easy to book in an appointment, lovely staff, a simple quick process and efficient results. The test itself is completely fine for anyone apprehensive and it is over very quick, everything is explained concisely by staff. My test was at 12:25pm and by 9:30am (the next morning) I had received an email from the lab stating that my sample was received and undergoing testing. At 2:30pm I received my results. This enabled me to travel this morning with no issues, as I was easily able to show proof of my test at numerous points when asked on my journey. I am really impressed, this is a service that you can count on in already stressful times when needing to travel. Well worth the money in getting it done on site if you're afraid you mightn't take the sample correctly etc. Thanks to all the team, a great service all round!

Wonderful, hard working staff! We dropped in when our pcr covid tests weren't properly delivered to our hotel. The staff was patient - there was a rugby team from the US that needed sorting - and helpful finding a way to squeeze us in so we could get home. Went to get blood samples taking using a medicheck kit purchased online. It was easy to book an appointment at Newington and I was in and out in a couple minutes. They helped package everything up so I only needed to drop it in the priority post box up the road which was super handy.

I’m not kidding when I say that was one of the best experiences I’ve had with any customer service. I found out last minute I specifically needed a PCR COVID test (which has a 24-48 hour turnaround) and my flight was in less than 20 hours so I was absolutely freaking out. The staff was super compassionate and helped me quickly get a PCR test and the guy who actually took my test was just talking to me and told me about info about my flight that may have prevented me from going if I didn’t know it! I’m writing this at 7:16 in the morning after almost zero sleep because I have been stressing out if my test will come in time, but I can say my results just came in so I won’t miss my flight! After traveling from the US to Edinburgh before Christmas, rules changed and I needed a negative COVID (PCR) test for my return flight. I was able to book a test appointment online, within the required 72 hour window, the staff was lovely, the test was safely and easily conducted, and I received my negative test result via email in fewer than 36 hours. This morning, the airline reviewed my test result documentation at check in and sent me along to my flight. There were others that were turned away because they did not know they needed a test or did not have the correct paperwork. Very happy with my experience at Newington Pharmacy and would use them again.

I was a bit nervous about the PCR test process (I don’t think anyone enjoys having a long swab up their nose), but his kindness and sense of humor resulted in me leaving the clinic laughing. We had booked to go to Paris for our second anniversary and whilst my girlfriend was at work in a care home, not finishing till 8pm, we got a text notifying that a PCR/Antigen test was required for travel. With our flight at 7am and everywhere shut by the time we could get a test then not open by the time of our flight, I was away to cancel the hotel and our trip altogether when Shahzad replied saying he had some Rapid Antigen Fit to Fly test kits in his car and would meet us. He met us at around 8pm at the other side of Edinburgh and explained exactly how to do the tests. Writing this in our hotel room and want to say a big thank you to Shahzad!

Got my PCR test here for travelling abroad, I have went to newington pharmacy 3 times for the test, 2 home test kits and 1 one on site test and both are very quick and easy. I had trouble the very first time with getting my results back because i sent it through royal mail, but a staff member was extremely helpful on trying to chase it up and it all worked out in the end. I definitely recommend to use their courier service instead of posting it yourself. All staff are lovely, very helpful and reply quickly to any questions. Came here for a pre-departure Covid 19 test for a trip to the USA. The whole process was a breeze. Would recommend for speedy (and friendly) COVID PCR testing. I had to get two PCR tests with Newington Pharmacy because my flight got cancelled! Staff were helpful, calm and professional, it was easy and flexible to get an appointment. First results did take 28 hours to come back, but the second test was back in under 36 hours so I was able to fly the following morning. Big thanks fo the staff who made an unpleasant situation as good as it could be!

I came into the pharmacy and was greeted by an Irish man. He was very helpful and reasurred me that the test would be done even with no appointment. Without his help I would not have got home for Christmas. DEFINETLY RECCOMEND THESE GUYS!!

Here is a suggestion on how to get the five stars. If the customer behind me is stating they may be exposed to Covid-19 as their family is sick with it and that customer is displaying symptoms of the virus such as coughing, then have that customer wear a mask and or wait outside for their test and not wait in the same room with me

Fantastic service!! I used the travel clinic within the pharmacy today. I left getting vaccinations far too late with my holiday being the day after the travel clinic visit. I called the night before and they were the only pharmacy/clinic who were able to accommodate me so last minute. They have an online system where you can fill in the health history and your details before hand which would save time. The pharmacist gave me only what was necessary and was very accommodating with my fear of needles, and the vaccinations were over in a matter of seconds. He gave great advice and got the others in the pharmacy to get some of the products mentioned for me. My main reason for this great review is my partner couldn't come with me as they had a meeting they had to attend, so I asked whilst there if there were any chance they could fit in seeing my partner (I knew from checking the night before they didn't have any other appointments that day), and he gave a time where he could fit him in, which is so appreciated considering we travel the next day. Even though this pharmacy is out the way for me, I would definitely visit here again to see the pharmacist/ travel clinic opposed to going anywhere else, thanks to the great customer service received.

Yesterday, on the train from Inverness to Edinburgh, I found out that I have to have a test result document with me when I fly to Greece, tomorrow. I called Newington Pharmacy from the train around 1pm, they informed me very well about the process (how to perform & how to ship) and I got the kit from the pharmacy around 3pm. I performed the test and shipped it by 4pm, with a label bought from the PostOffice across the pharmacy and by putting the kit package in a nearby priority letter box on the street. The letter arrived in Glasgow today around 1pm as expected. It was also stated that the test results would be ready within 72 hours. But, in just 4 hours, I received the negative test result right now :) Without the support and information given on the phone, I would not be able to arrange, perform and ship the test so quickly otherwise. Thanks a lot to everyone involved!

I needed a covid19 test (PCR) for me and my family for urgent travel! I have traveled from newcastle to Edinbrugh to buy the kits. I’ve used this pharmacy and provided the test kit! Ordered a blood draw through MediChecks, and this was the one clinic available in Edinburgh. I noted the wrong appointment time (10:30am) and showed up at 9:30am, the lady kindly gave me directions to nearby cafes for breakfast. Upon returning at 10:30am, I was able to get my blood drawn on time! Only giving 4 stars because the nurse administrating my blood draw didn't seem very experienced, he had to adjust the needle a few times just to fill 1 vial...

I received results for my PCR test very quickly, less than 24h so it is very safe if you are taking it to travel, HOWEVER it is specified nowhere on the website or on the phone that with Randox Health tests, the swab samples are taken in both nose AND THROAT so for people who have a serious gag problem or emetophobia: it is a nightmare (not anyone’s fault, but worth mentioning for future customers)
