Reviews of D H Roberts Pharmacy
Very professional, kind and warm pharmacists. Went out of his way to help when I was unwell. Highly recommend!
April 2024. IGNORE THE WHINGERS
I recall a chemist's in Hampstead, some years ago, which had a "rash" of whiners and complainers.
These customers (I will not call them people) totally self-absorbed DID NOT NOTICE the BLACK ARMBANDS worn by most of the staff who were in mourning for the loss of a beloved colleague.
Why should they notice? It's not their problem. They are UNWELL NOW!! and demand service THEIR WAY.
We all have our good and bad days. When feeling unwell (often the reason to visit a chemist) we may not be at our best.
But, assuming a modicum of sanity, when have you ever known shouting, spitting or being rude to have a positive effect on a shop worker, doctor, taxi driver, policeman or a chemist?
A little patience and a kind word can go a long way. Invariably the GP's "Automatic system" has faltered. Not the GP's fault. Certainly not the Chemist's. Nor the "front line" staff at the surgery or at the Chemist's shop.
We are a country that appears to be very vocal when things go wrong. But, almost silent when things go right. That's partly because we "expect". We "expect" that we will get good service despite things that may have gone wrong. We "expect" to be able to ignore other people's feelings if we haven't got what we want. Is this what your parents taught you? ...that behaving like a petulant child will get you what you want?
My experiences over the years at DH Roberts have been that of a customer. Politely greeted with a smile. I return the same.
I always thank them and wish them well because that is the sort of society and world I like to live in.
These are REAL PEOPLE who work very hard. Yet, have a genuine happy, pleasant, caring way about them.
There's a Lancashire lass who is just a lovely ray of sunshine. Another (is it ok to say pretty these days?) pretty girl is more shy but wonderfully helpful and efficient.
The men are nice, solicitous and courteous (but not as pretty😉)
My wise grandmother used to say "treat others as you would like to be treated". An adage that, in my experience, bares fruit.
Love these guy's, been using this Chemist for more than 30 years.
The people have changed a few times, but they are very helpful when dealing with my medical needs quick when ordering my meds and the Ladies on the front line are always helpful kind and understanding especially at this difficult time, they turn up every day to deal with us all, who at most times can be quite rude to these ladies who are here to help us.
With the extra benefits that their staff speak 3 different languages which I find most helpful, not many other Chemist offer this.
I know one of the ladies who has worked there for over 30 years and with the other members of the team at DH Roberts I think they are a great benefit to Tufnell Park I can't understand why there are so many bad things written about these guy's.
Will always recommend this Chemist 5 stars all the way.
I've used this chemist for years and they've always been fantastic - know many local people and are familiar with their needs and conditions. The price gouging is not their fault - the wholesalers are charging them exorbitant prices so they have no choice. I bought a tiny bottle of hand sanitiser recently for £10! and the pharmacist apologised for the price. This business is vital to the local community - please continue to support it
Really great pharmacy and really easy to deal with. The lead pharmacist is always quick to know what I'm after and usually remembers my repeat prescription just by my face :)
Re the hand sanitiser issue - it's likely their supplier is charging them an extraordinary price for this. They can either sell the sanitiser at what is likely break-even money, or not sell it at all (they shouldn't be forced to sell it at a loss) so this isn't their fault. Knowing DH Roberts and how friendly they are I really doubt they're price gouging especially as this is illegal.
Excellent pharmacist, charming and knowledgeable ( on par with many doctors )
Excellent chemists. The whole team are friendly, knowledgeable, attentive go above and beyond for their customers. A real local chemist in London.
