I booked both a maternity and newborn shoot with Samantha Black Photography and cannot recommend enough. Prior to our maternity shoot we selected some styles of imagery that we liked and based on this Samantha chose a convenient location to us Northaw Woods. We decided to go for a shoot closer to our due date in order to go for a more autumnal look, again all guided by Samantha with precision. Her attention to detail and the amount effort she puts into her work is highly commendable and she made us feel so comfortable and included during the whole process. For someone that was quite conscious of the changes to my body during pregnancy, Samantha made me feel at ease on the day and I was beyond happy with the images we received and so impressed by the amount of photos to choose from, all of which we loved so much that it made it hard to shortlist our favourites! Again with our newborn shoot, we had a pre consultation where we selected some styles of imagery that we liked and on the day we choose from a wide and impressive selection of materials for the shoot. Samantha once again made us feel so at ease and comfortable on the day, and guided us so confidently through the whole experience. Our little one had a tongue tie at birth and we had a rough start to parenthood but Samantha was as patient as a saint and worked around our babies needs. She captured our baby so perfectly and the final images were so beautiful that again it was so hard to shortlist which images to print. The quality of print was also very impressive with so many options to choose from. I am so glad that we have these beautiful images and memories created by Samantha, I will definitely be booking her again for some more pictures when baby is a little older. We cannot thank you enough x

Sam made our newborn shoot experience so very special. From the weeks ahead she was in touch with us to exchange ideas and lay out how the day might flow so we knew what to expect. Her relaxed approach put us at ease, giving us time to feed and let baby nap, and she had such an eye for the best set ups around the house for us….we enjoyed every minute! In the following weeks, Sam was in constant contact sharing the photos and making edits we wanted, we had a hard time whittling them down but she made the process very easy. The final photos were just stunning, Sam’s aesthetic and style were exactly what we wanted, we still love looking at them even more so now that that tiny baby is not so tiny anymore! We’re so glad that Sam was the one who captured that treasured time in our lives.

We highly recommend Sam, she did a brilliant job photographing our 5 month old. We had a photoshoot at home and she made us feel really comfortable, she gave us lots of guidance beforehand about getting our home ready and choosing outfits. She was very patient and gave us lots of time to feed and settle our little one when needed on the day. She was calm, friendly and professional which really helped us feel relaxed and loosen up. We've had a lovely experience and will cherish the photos which are now up on our wall! - Sam had them printed for us and I'm glad we chose her fine art print option. What more can I say? Samantha was an absolute pleasure to work with! I originally booked a newborn shoot for my daughter, but due to the pandemic, I had to postpone the shoot. I was quite worried how a photoshoot with a very energetic one year old would turn out, but it was great! We have had three shoots with Samantha since my twins were born, a first when they were newborn, a second as they turned 1 and a third as they turned 3. I was blown away by Samantha’s initial approach and the care and attention she brought to the newborn shoot. As babies my twins were obviously settled and happy throughout the process and the shots show that. As the twins have gotten older, Samantha has changed the shoot format to reflect their development and we have had amazing, happy, family shots that reflect their growing cheeky personalities every time. After getting our shots to review, Samantha was really helpful in choosing images to print and so helpful and flexible with formats and presentation. My twins love looking at all our prints on the wall each morning and they make our house a home, reminding them on happy days. I could not recommend Samantha and her photography more highly. Her shots are like magic, capturing my little ones and making memories for us as they grow up.

Samantha took our newborn photos 5 years ago and we were so happy with her work that we asked her again for another newborn & sibling shoot this year, although we had moved out of London. Her style is exactly what we love, very natural and she has this amazing attention to detail which really makes a difference on the photos. We first got in touch with Samantha to take maternity photos as I liked her portfolio. She spent a fair amount of time on the phone with me ahead of our engaging her to answer my questions and to ensure that her style and what we wanted were indeed a good match. She was a great help when it came to outfits as well! We've now received our maternity photos, and while I love all the photos, I really like how she captured the photo of us in the courtyard. It's such a cool photo - how she captured the pattern of the light coming through the leaves on the wall, the changing colours of the leaves, and, of course, us. There's so much going on in the photo that I notice something new each time, and it's just lovely how complex and simple it is all at once. We're looking forward to having Samantha work her magic when our baby is born!

Worth every Penny! Samantha performed a miracle when she came round to our house a couple of months ago for our photo shoot. My twin boys at the age of 10months woke up from their morning nap with that look on their face that screamed refusal. And true to form they refused to eat though they were clearly hungry, refused to laugh along to all their favourite nursery rhymes, refused to wear some of the cute hats that Samantha had bought along. It should have been a very long three hours but Samantha was so cheerful and so positive I was able to relax (not something I do often as a first time mum!). Even more amazing than the experience were the actual photos. Despite all the tears we have dozens of photos of two beautiful, smiling babies that we will treasure forever. In the split seconds where they couldn't help but smile, laugh or look at each other lovingly she was right there to catch it and the results are truly magical.
