After having seen a physiotherapist, a general practitioner and a sports doctor, I had an appointment with Adelina. Her diagnosis was much more accurate than the one I had been given before, and the therapy for my hip was really effective. I did the exercises she recommended and within two weeks I started to feel a great improvement. With great enthusiasm and dedication she encouraged me to continue with the exercises and advised me how to prevent further injuries. I cannot recommend Adeline highly enough.

I saw Andreas because I had persistent pain in my Achilles’ tendon. I’m 51 and felt quite low at the prospect of not being able to do my normal running routine. Andreas gave me an accurate diagnosis and a really good exercise programme which over a period of three months has really improved my condition. I like the way all the exercises are in the app so you have clear instructions what you need to do. I also found the advice very holistic, tailored to my needs and thorough- looking at my overall exercise patterns and the need to build strength flexibility and stability. I went to Spires Physiotherapy Oxford because my sciatica was making me miserable. I'd given up running. I felt old. My physio, Andreas Georgoulas, was having none of this self-pity and gave me a program to build my strength and flexibility with the aim of getting back to running. Boy, was it hard work! But Andreas' good humour and encouragement kept me going and now I am much stronger. I went for an 8 mile walk this morning, which I couldn't have done before, and I feel fine! And tomorrow I'll continue my progression to running. I may get twinges and flare ups in the future but I now have the strength and confidence to ride them out.

Adelina, at Spires, has been helping me for some time with a very painful knee. She was very clear from the start that the problem was something that I would have to live with but the condition could be managed and there was a lot that could be done to improve things. Before the programme started I could walk about 100 yards with a limp and significant pain. Last Sunday I walked 6 miles without any pain. It has been a long and slow process but Adelina has put together a programme of exercises that has made so much difference. I consulted Andreas for my knee pain. I have always had pain in my knees while climbing down stairs or during hikes and it was exacerbated when I took up olympic lifting. Andreas narrowed it down to weak hips and calves causing patellar mal-alignment. He put me on a program over 6 weeks, gradually increasing the complexity of exercises. He also explained why we are doing what we are doing. I could see significant improvement in the first 2 - 3 weeks itself. The knee pain has reduced greatly now. Hikes are a lot more fun and no pain while doing back squats. Knees feel stronger too. Highly recommend Andreas

When I initially saw Adelina I had been diagnosed with CRPS in my foot. The CRPS had been triggered by bunion surgery which had been performed 8 weeks before. I was dreading my first session as my foot was so sensitive and painful that I did not really want anyone to touch it.
From the beginning, Adelina was extremely professional and caring. After a full assessment she outlined what she thought should be done to reduce pain and increase mobility. Over the following weeks, the pain subsided and the mobility greatly increased. After each session, Adelina has updated the detailed exercise programme to both consolidate the gains made and to increase the level of difficulty as appropriate.
Over 6 months, I have gone from only being able to walk a few steps with the assistance of crutches to walking 10kms. Throughout this period, Adelina has always been extremely positive, encouraging and supportive yet clear about the exercises I needed to carry out at home which are monitored through an App.
I highly recommend her and am extremely grateful to her for her continuous support, kindness and professionalism as part of my recovery from CRPS.

I highly recommend Adelina as a physiotherapist. She is extremely knowledgeable, skilled and proficient in her practice. I attended her clinic after I broke my olecranon and the NHS physio service wasn't enabling me to recover the use of my arm, or reduce the secondary pain in my shoulder. Adelina was thorough in her assessment and after a couple weeks of exercises, the pain in my shoulder had gone. She then supported me to rebuild my arm muscles and gain significant mobility and strength in my arm. I cannot thank Adelina enough. Really glad to have found Emma at Spires Physio. After a really thorough assessment I was given an ever changing plan of quite demanding rehab exercises which have really made a world of difference. Having a recovery plan was really important so I could see progress and get back to my previous sports. She reigned me in when necessary but also encouraged me to push myself when I was starting to doubt myself. Without this plan I suspect I would be pretty much where I was several months ago. There is still some work to be done but pleased to say I am more than on the right track. Having seen a couple of people previously this was in a league of its own!

I am recovering from being in a full arm cast for 3 months after a badly broken wrist and I had my first physio session one week after lockdown, so the first sessions had to be virtual. Joe prepared a tailored programme to test my limitations and really push my body to regain as much mobility and strength as possible, all over Skype.
The surgeon predicted that I would get a maximum of 80% mobility back, but with Joe's extensive exercise list, attentive manner and encouragement I have regained more mobility and strength than I thought possible.
Joe is also always available to answer questions via email between sessions.

I was referred for physiotherapy following a broken wrist and ongoing pain and weakness in my hand and joint. I had been struggling with the lack of strength in my hand and was delighted with the exercises and work that Adelina did with me. The sessions were fantastic and the 'home work' was a great way to keep me focused and on track between sessions.

I had been training really hard this year building high intensity running intervals into my training for an Olympic triathlon in July. Only eight weeks before the event as I walked downstairs the morning after a hill set I knew something was wrong and that I needed to see a physio. Following advice from a friend went to see Adelina at Spires Physiotherapy. It was the best decision I could have made. Adelina guided me through rapid but careful rehabilitation and I was able to get back to running and getting a PB in the thriathlon. Joe has been advising and caring for my sports injuries for only 8 weeks or so and already I have no pains and aches, his advice is all sound and he wants you to get better not feel better, meaning you solve the problem of why you are experiencing pain, not covering it up with massages and the like.
I have a bad knee due to IT band and weakness as well as neck pain from rotator cuff deficiency.
He is a sports expert and has given me tips and knowledge on how to avoid the injuries above again, and improve my athleticism at the same time, by making the muscle groups that are deficient stronger and more active.
He supports your recovery and program via email very thoroughly and is extremely helpful and a good laugh too.

I saw Evangelos for rehab after a fractured collarbone from a bike racing accident. He was very professional and I was made to feel comfortable on every visit. I saw Evangelos weekly to start with, he gave me different exercises to do each time as I progressed and was always happy to answer any questions I had. I also saw Joe for a running injury 2 weeks before a marathon, I wasn't sure if I would be able to do it but with advice and support from Joe I did complete the marathon. Went to Joe ahead of my first marathon. Before I had even started training he worked out where problem areas might be and designed a stretch/exercise schedule to strengthen these areas. Two weeks before the marathon I suffered awful shin splints and Joe gave me great advice and exercises to do in advance to get me through the day. Post marathon, he helped identify the wear and tear on my body (not just legs!) and I was able to recover fully. Would definitely recommend.

I came in with a pain in my shin that I was getting whilst running, a few months before a marathon I had entered. I was expecting a massage to remove the pain and to be sent on my way. Instead Joe took a very proffessional approach and assessed what was causing the pain and how best to combat it.

I went to see Joe as I had been suffering on and off from chronic neck pain for several years.
We had three sessions over the course of a few months. He was able to identify the main causes of the pain and gave me corrective exercises that were manageable but progressively more challenging from session to session. He also gave me advice on how to manage pain following flare ups. I'd recently been to an osteopath and then a physiotherapist for treatment of lower back pain, I was staying in Kent and found local help. I had some relief for a couple of weeks, but then the pain came back even worse. I'd moved to Oxford and I found Joe online. As I was driving to his rooms the pain was so severe I had to stop on the side of the road. He examined me thoroughly and explained that the problem was with a facet joint, he massaged and worked on the area. That was a week ago and since then I've done the exercises he suggested and I've had no pain since. He certainly worked his magic on me. I've been to several physiotherapists over the years and I think he's up there with the best.

I had six weeks to go before a 3-week cycling endurance challenge, and I didn't feel 100 percent. Joe was recommended by a work colleague and listened to my thoughts and fears, and put together a programme that specifically targeted my weaknesses.

For 6 months I had constant pain in my jaw and mouth relating to TMJ. This is a very specialist issue that not many consultants can actually help with. I have been seeing Evangelos at Spires Physiotherapy since May18 and due to the exercises and specialist acupuncture he has given me I have seen tremendous improvements. In particular my facial pain has reduced, but most importantly I’ve gained movement back in my jaw. Before having any treatment I could barely open and close my mouth properly.
