Great food, lovely atmosphere and great staff. Kids devoured the spaghetti and meatballs and loved the homemade chocolate ice-cream. The sea bass fish of the day was delicious. They also serve really good Yorkshire puddings with the mains on a Sunday which is always good to see!

Mind the food is Italian inspired, but I wouldn't say is Italian if you're looking for a canonical experience. Still, excellent pasta, very nice and friendly service. Prices a bit on the steep side but ok considering location and quality of ingredients.

Oh my god. The food here is INSANE. 🤤🤤 It's a new favourite for us for sure. I think a lot of it is locally sourced where it can be too which is always a big plus. The muscles and arranchini balls were to die for. In a sea of very average Italian restaurants that don't do justice to their roots this place is a real treasure. It absolutely blew us away. Reasonably priced, good drink selection, the wait staff friendly and attentive without being too much and the puddings smashed it out the park. Upmost compliments to the chef, you are a culinary magician.

Three course lunch menu is a great deal (available before 6pm). Fried whitebait for a starter, ox cheek pappardelle or fish cake as the main and treat yourself with a tiramisu (full of aroma of wine)! All the staff wear masks and you can find the alcohol disinfectant machine at the entrance and upstairs, which made me feel quite safe for dining in. Overall - Good restaurant, nice staff, delicious Welsh/Italian cuisine with a good portion, highly recommended! Eat out to help out! (7 months ago)

We were staying just along the road and decided to book an early table. Welcoming staff, great music at just the right volume. The caprese was full of flavour and my ox cheek ragu I would have happily eaten again. It is obviously popular as it is rare to see a restaurant just about full by 8pm on a Monday evening. Good value with a glass of wine and a coffee to finish. Although we didn't have a sweet the three options to share did look very appealing. Very well done Porro!

Lovely little place in Llandaff this is the first time we have been here the menu is ok was expecting more Italian dishes so was surprised to see it was limited. The staff were soo lovely and patient with us as the food choices were made and then some changed their minds but the staff smiled and accommodated.

Superb cooking! They made English food taste so much better! An example is the fries. I seldom had crispy fries in England. Initially, I thought that’s because british cut potato into wedges and because of the bigger size, they cannot make crispy fries. Porro’s was perfectly made, with crispy putter layer and soft potato core! I tried mussels and they were great too! I even finished the white sauce cooking the mussels! Highly recommended!

We had Sunday lunch and the service and atmosphere was fabulous. The staff were welcoming and attentive. We ordered a bottle of Prosecco and fresh water was also at the table and refilled . Really made to feel special. I ordered the beef Sunday lunch , the beef was perfect Yorkshire pudding roast potato’s and good selection of fresh veg delicious with cauliflower cheese. Dessert the best homemade tiramisu I have ever tasted . Give them a try you won’t be disappointed. Lovely coffee to finish . The meal was reasonable and I felt really good value . We will be back soon to this gem.

I had partridge as my main, preceded with the lamb meatball..... if the rest of the menu is of the same standard, I'll be going back lots more times when in Wales! We recently celebrated our 50th anniversary with family at Porro. This was our first visit and it definitely won't be the last. The food was superb, all beautifully cooked and presented. All staff were so helpful and cheerful. A busy yet cosy restaurant, ambience was perfect. We all felt very relaxed. Can't wait to go again. Thank you for treating us so well.

Amazing tasting pizza! And a lovely atmosphere with very kind staff. Also, the breakfast menu is great - I personally recommend their scrambled eggs on toast! The drinks are lovely, and the good is exquisite. One hundred percent I would recommend Porro. Although, it can get quite busy, so if you want to be sure that you will get a table I would advise that you book ahead. Oh, and the kid's birthday parties that they do are great!

The service is very good. I'm dairy free and they cook a tomato soup for me which is very good. But the only dissapointment is that the protion for the set menu is small and it wasn’t very satisfying. The pizza is a bit too small.

Very nice place to eat. We went for breakfast and the menu was good. It took a little more than expected to get the drinks but it was busy and i could see the staff didn't stop and were very polite and helpful. Our group now want to try here in the evening. Good place.

Nice atmosphere and quite busy for a Thursday evening. The menu was very appealing without too many choices. Usually a good sign. The moule starter was very nice albeit a bit on the meagre side. The crab cannelloni was pretty dire. It looked like brown meat spread but didn't taste of anything much other than an overpowering citrus flavour. Very odd, not that pleasant. We were left looking at our dirty plates for 15 minutes before they were taken away. Our wine did not arrive until we were half way through the starters. Our mains arrived without cutlery. I had to go to the next room to get my own. We both had the ox cheek pasta. Very nice, but nothing special, and certainly not worth the hefty price. I would not rush back, the food was mediocre, the prices a little on the expensive side, and the service wasn't the best. A shame. It seems other patrons have enjoyed their experience with their 5 stars. Perhaps we were unlucky.

Food was nice but service was very slow! My brother and I each ordered the sourdough toast and 2 pieces arrived on one plate. I assumed this was one portion but it was actually for the two of us to share. I had to eat mine off a napkin. At £3.50 a portion, I would have expected it to be two slices each! I don't think I've ever paid so much for one slice of toast!

Far beyond any expectation I could have had prior. The food was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the drink menu was impressively varied in terms of wine and spirits (I highly recommend the house cocktail, fruity but not overly so), but a little lacking in terms of beer and ales. The staff were attentive, courteous, and caring. Would definitely visit again and cannot praise it high enough.

The only thing was they ran out of lager after 2 people on our table had 1 bottle each - apparently the weekend had been busy. Good job it was a Monday night i.e. not much alcohol was required - although as the table had been booked for at least a month I think better provision should have been made for this.

The sausage was dense, meaty and slightly spicy; the homemade beans we're great and the sourdough toast was crunchy and tangy like good sourdough should be. An impromptu visit for us, after calling half hour before for a table on a Saturday afternoon, they very kindly fitted us in. The restaurant is lovely and intimate in the centre of Llandaff town with a small menu but all fresh food which was delicious and well priced. Service was attentive and friendly too and covid guidelines all very well adhered to. We will definitely be returning.

Normally busy late in the night and looks really nice and decided to recently went in for lunch and had a great time. Staff friendlyness is certainly the highlight closely followed by the pastry chef. It was fairly quite whist I went in with a couple of groups that children with them. The person I belive to be the owner was friendly with everyone and treated the children like adults. One had recently received a Blue Peter badge and proudly showed it off to the owner. I ate sun-dried gnocchi which was very nice, and very much enjoyed the tiramisu I had. Others eating with me also raved about their desert. Pricing seems reasonable for the quality and size of the food.

Really love this place. Have been to this one twice and the Roath restaurant once. Every time it has been fantastic. I have eaten a mix of lamb rump with vegetables, tagliatelle with ragi, roast dinner and fish. All dishes have been great and you can tell that they really love what they are doing. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Porro to others or go back here. The food is on the higher price bracket so it is more of a treat but it is definitely worth it.

Had lunch at Porro today for the first time. Nice ambiance in the restaurant and a nice feel to the place. Menu tends towards the Italian and it was nice to see the choice of beers in particular reflected this. Great to be offered something appropriate other than Peroni. Food really good fresh and well presented. Coffee also excellent. Will be visiting again for sure.

New favourite Sunday lunch spot. We've been to Porro many times for their Italian food, but their Sunday lunches are divine... and good value, in lovely warm surroundings, on a cold Autumn afternoon with the looming darkness setting in early. My wife had the roast chicken and I the beef, with plenty of horseradish sauce, both with rich and flavoursome vegetables and a deep, rich gravy. A light Pino and sultry Malbec made everything complete. Well, until we got to the Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert. Light pudding, sumptuous toffee and ice cream, and a delicate crumb. We hosted a WI Christmas Dinner event here. The service was friendly, the table layout was nice and the food was good. I would have given 5* but the food service was so slow. It took over 1.5 hours for some of the ladies to get their first plate despite us having out all our orders in advance so don't go there if you are hungry or in a rush.

Management and kitchen insist upon fresh ingredients and creativity every day which is reflected by the creations brought out the door. Interior is rustic, comfortable, and inviting. Staff are polite, informed, and contribute to the welcoming environment created. The wine menu isn't neglected either- I highly recommend the True Zin. There's plenty to praise with Porro, but the best experience will be your own. Will return!
