The food was absolutely delicious and honestly one of the best pizzas I've eaten in Colchester. Well cooked, fresh, lots of toppings. Portions were great too. The service was super friendly and the food was brought out at an incredible speed (without rushing us). We sat in the downstairs cave area so it was super cosy and intimate.

Booked this venue last minute. 👌 What a lovely last minute decision..😋 The staff very friendly, welcoming and polite.❤ The food was tasty, and delivered to our table quickly..🍕 I had a pizza 'the nuts one' this was not something I would normally choose.. it was a lovely combo..👌 I loved the added extras in the ladies toilets. If you haven't eaten here before, why not? Locals or visiting people need to look it up and book ASAP.. 😊

Popped in here after visiting the cinema and availed ourselves of a couple of their lovely pizzas. Nice and crispy and good choice of toppings. We had a gorgonzola, pear and nuts one and the Spanish one. Both tasty! They do also do other Italian classic grub but I think most people know it for their pizzas!

I got a delivery from Dough&co for the first time, thinking it would be nice to try despite the very expensive prices. The food was barely warm when it arrived and had to heat it up in the oven, although that is not the restaurant's fault. I got a mushroom pizza with ham. The dough was quite nice considering it is very hard to find a wood fired oven restaurant around. The ham was also tasty. However, the mushrooms were not fresh as advertised. The mushrooms were the ones marinated in oil and left an unpleasant smell and aftertaste on the pizza. I also ordered some strawberry and cream doughnuts but the cream was melted and made the doughnuts soggy and inedible... Unfortunately, they ended up in the bin like my money.

My order arrived within 30 minutes of me placing my order. The Pizza was delicious and you could tell every ingredient was fresh. But the show stealer was the - salted caramel doughnuts. They were so fluffy and light. Honestly great value for money as portions was generous. I just wish we had one in London. I ordered from the Colchester branch, whilst staying in Colchester.

I reckon the best pizzas in Colchester are made by dough&co, very discreet location and easy to walk past but well worth finding it. They could do with some more variety in their starters but there is no reason I won't be coming back.

We had lunch at Dough & co. We had a sharing platter followed by pizzas. The food was quite good and we were all very full. The restaurant put our left overs in a box for us to munch on later which was nice of them. In terms of drinks the selection for very little people (who do not drink fizzy drinks) was a little poor. Entry is currently via eld lane, which with a pushchair was a bit of a pain as you have to get downstairs (we had originally tried to go via the other door but was met with an 'exit only' sign!) Whilst I do not expect any help with the buggy, I did sort of expect an acknowledgement of it. We was then seated down a few more steps..! Also, I didn't find an area or drop down table for baby change, so I had to bodge a change on the little one in the disabled loo (a bit more space than the gents loos!)

Great restaurant with fantastic food & lovely staff, who where more than happy to help when needed. The pizzas are cooked in an authentic pizza oven so you really get pizza that's worth the money. Pasta was lovely as well as the portion was huge which they promoted us to take home and provided a box to take home. If you like Italian food this place is a must. They also do take away!

Incredibly fresh and wonderfully flavoured food. My husband and I went to DOUGH&co last night to celebrate some good news. The resturant itself is gorgeous making use of the historic wall with the Woodfired oven a prominent feature for customers to see. The food itself is exceptionally valued with a 2&3 course option. Catering to vegan and gluten free customers. We went for the 3 courses (with an extra garlic bread because who can resist). I had the triangles to start with a chilli oil dip - if you love freshly baked pizza bread and dips this is the starter for you as you have the option of any dip on the menu. However if you're expecting any stuffing inside then I wouldn't recommend, these are honestly a simple celebration of fantastic bread. My husband had the bruschetta which looked (and tasted) incredible. Then we split the garlic bread, which I have to say is the greatest garlic bread I've ever eaten. Very fresh tasting. For our mains my husband had The Fishy One - which he informs me was fantastic and the nicest he has had. I went for The Very Spicy One which is easily the best pizza I've had both inside the UK and out - with Norway a shock contender. It is very well flavoured, making great use of the sausage. The freshness of the ingredients really stands out and it was honestly a joy to eat. They also put a lot of thought into their dips, with a lovely chilli oil and a wonderful garlic and herb dip. This dip was so incredibly fresh tasting, fantastically garlicky but such a clean taste to it. On top of this they even offered to box the remaining slices for us to take home! Finally we finished with the Panna cotta. This had such a fresh tart flavour with the raspberries combined with the creamy white chocolate it was really well balanced. Again this dessert pulled it out of the bag and becomes the best panna cotta either of us have ever had. This resturant is genuinely a pleasure to be in with attentive friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. I couldn't imagine getting pizza from anywhere else in Colchester. TL:DR? This place is amazing and the pizzas are incredible. Great value for money too. Following this meal out I'm never ordering from dominoes or papa johns again.

Gave this place a try for lunch and although the waitress was friendly & helpful sadly it was not a pleasant dining experience and have a long list of issues: Unfinished wood tables and chairs uncomfortable like a picnic. Instead of a plate the pizza is served on slate easily marked by knife. Awkward opera music. No other customers. Hours are wrong on Google, midday is 12pm not 12am. An employee interview was held at a nearby table. Men’s toilet air freshener too powerful. Celery in side salad. Had to ask for no rocket on the pepperoni, some bits still came on it. Takeaway menu used to hold the bill. Table chilli flakes been touched by other fingers. Chilli oil wasn't spicy. American style pizza with "dustinator" crust typical of the American takeaway chains. Sorry it is so long list of things to improve, just trying to help, owner could look to the hugely successful Paesano in Glasgow making their own sour dough authentic Napoli style pizzas, simple menu with great prices which would go down a storm in Colchester like how packed North Hill Noodle Bar is all day every day.

Beautiful interior and great open kitchen presentation. Amazingly attentive staff and great prices. The appatizers and pizza's were absolutely delicious. I cannot recommend enough the Buffalo Chicken One, and make sure you get a side of the Buffalo sauce for dipping. If you're a seafood lover, the Seafood one, with spicy prawns is the one for you. Definitely establishment a stop on your next date night and the best pizza in Colchester hands down.

What a lovely restaurant! Despite what Google says, it is open for dining in! The atmosphere was relaxing, the food was fantastic, and the decor nicely rustic. Was nice to be sat next to what I assumed were the remains of the medieval city wall, or something just like them! The service was friendly, attentive and considerate, and all done safely given the current situation. They offered us a take away menu which we would have gladly taken and used, but we live in Cambridge! A wonderful place for a meal!

We tried their pizzas around one year ago and we enjoyed it a lot. Since then we have ordered a set Couple Night In few times and the pizzas were tasty every time. But the last ones were a big disappointment. The pizzas were burned, one was not cut into pieces and the garlic bread was very thin in the middle. Overall it was a brilliant night from the quick service given to us to the delivery of food. I went with my friends to this restaurant as it happens to one of our birthdays. To say the least it can be difficult to find somewhere to eat. However, we're glad we've chosen to eat here. Although narrowing my review down quite a bit I do want to point out overall the food was delicious, best for money as well. I find generally the price your paying it for is well justified. The setting is lovely, feels very home-like which isn't very often you find you can generally relax. While the water given between each serving was brilliant. Allowed us more time to talk to our friends instead of some restaurants where you have to ask the staff quite often. Everything was just convenient which is the best thing (for me at least) in a restaurant. On the contrary, I do have some feedback which is why my review couldn't possibly reach 5 stars. Unless I didn't pay much attention but the drinks side was very expensive and not justifiable. I believe (if not the case of unable to cut prices), than I would argue a wider selection of drinks (especially non-alcoholic) since some people such as myself who happen to not just be fussy with food but also with drinks. Leaving it on a positive note, the staff who served us was well professional from the moment we entered and when we left the restaurant. There were little to none signs of them not knowing what to do which definitely provided signs of comfort that this business does provide training to staff.

I had dinner here last week. The garlic bread was so yummy, the best I have ever tasted, so fresh! The pizza was also delicious, you can see everything being prepared and cooked in front of you. Great pizza but let down by a number of things. The online ordering service is unusable and staff were unknowledgeable when ordering over the phone. We asked for a scheduled delivery for 8pm, the food arrived at 19:30 and so was cold by the time we were ready to eat. Also the white wine arrived warm, but at least the early delivery meant we had time to cool. Unfortunately probably wouldn't order again because of these problems.

Where to start! The food is all so fresh, and lovely, we went at lunch time and had the 3 course deal. The starters are a very good size and the mains were to so good. I had the very hot one, but it wasn't very spicy, but the taste was still there. All the other meals were good as well! Would definitely go back!

Have just finished eating from this place after a delivery, and have got to say by way the best quality home delivered food I have had in the 12 years I have been in this town, being a nightclub owner in this town I have tried most places and without putting down any other takeaway as we have got quite a few descent places in COLCHESTER nothing to me as come near the quality of food I have had today, the pizzas the sides the dips and the quality of the packaging is 5 golden stars all day long, will definitely be my regular place for food if they continue to this standard which I am confident they will. Great pizza from a proper pizza oven! Inside is rustic style and very welcoming! Went here with someone else, waiter seemed to be the only one there except the chef so was spread a little thin. Absolutely love Dough&Co! I've been into the restaurant a couple times as well as ordered food in, and they always deliver excellent food and service. The restaurant itself is cosy and comfortable, with good toilets, which always goes a long way! The staff are really lovely and welcoming and the menu is great with a good selection, we also love that they cater for vegan customers too :) So I would recommend to anyone to try it out. I've ordered food to be delivered twice and both times, the food was amazing, but also met my requests. 1. to tell me i'm pretty and 2. to tell me jokes about chickens, which they wrote on the pizza boxes! So the original problem I had has been resolved. Staff are very professional and polite. I had an issue with the delivery guy. Food was lovely and so was the setting but some staff too attentive , practically filling our glasses the second we finished , then turned very rude at the end after saying thankyou to them (no response from the owner himself), felt like we couldn’t relax from how overly attentive they were. Also, a “non compulsory” service charge added to the bill despite not being told we were paying it. Liked the food, but will not be returning.

Great food, lovely setting, service/attention to detail from the FOH staff not good enough. Went here for an evening and the staff let us know us there was a large group so there may be a delay in food. No issue with that, good to be notified in advance. As mentioned, food was excellent and both pizzas were delicious. Where it came apart was when we ordered two dips (one garlic and one blue cheese) to go with the pizza and we got two blue cheese. Asked the waiter to fix. They went off, came back, two blue cheese. Pointed this out, they went off, came back with the same again. Couldn't be bothered to explain again. With our drinks order, the glass of wine had something black floating in it which literally could not have been missed by the person who poured it, or the waiting staff, but it was still served. Yes it was replaced when we asked but this thing was almost the size of a 5p. Recognised the big group were likely keeping the staff busy, took a long time to get the bill. When we went to pay the server saw us, came over to take payment, only to get stopped by another table and deal with them first. This was poor. He should have said he would come back. He then went off, served food to other tables before we got the staff's attention again and were able to pay. It's a real shame to have to be so critical because the basics were so wrong. Get the FOH service up to the standard of the food and it'll be a great experience.

Poor planning for a prebooked large group, wanting to seperate tables.... Incredibly stuffy and hot in the downstairs we were allocated to, people were sweating a lot, the wall was even wet from the lack of air circulation... Just a summary of some issues... Food was ok. Some pizzas looked a bit lacking or most the ingredients to one side, other pizzas were lovely. I wouldn't recommend the basement cave like section for seating a large group!

Nice interior of the restaurant, latino music and lively atmosphere. Ham used in the piza does not seem to be italian (although I might be wrong). No wild mushrooms were added- contrary to what the menu stated. No olive oil provided with the piza. This place is a bit similar to my favourite Franco Manca in London. Please consider ingredients, recipies and prices. Olive oil should always be offered with piza. Further comment following the receipt of the responce from the managing director: I can re-assure you that I am not affiliated in any way with Franco Manca restaurant but have been their returning customer, because of the authentic recipies/ingredients and very reasonably priced pizas. I note your point re local business and have now reviewed the rating and my feedback on the basis of your caring prompt response and that there is a great potential at Dough & Co subject to implementation of you considered changes noted above. By the way, I do not recall saying "good" or even being asked how was the piza although on reflection even if asked, I would probably not have shared it during my and my partner's dinner (unless I was alone).

We decided to try this place after happening across it once and were delighted with both the food and the service.
