Reviews of Bella Italia - Edinburgh Hanover Street

Nice place to eat delicious, well cooked Italian food. I have been there 2.5 years ago and this time it felt like coming back home. Refurbished, but the staff still very polite and emotionally Italian, food well presented and cooked. I recommend it after a titing walk over Princess Street to have nice food and a glass of wine. Pasta was just perfect.

Tightly spaced sitting on the ground floor. They do have a good ambience. From what I ordered, the food was okay. I can relate to other reviews complaining about long wait until the order arrives, however I didn't mind it during this visit.
Wasn't too busy so the staff let us take the table longer than expected.

I am glad they squeezed us in around 1pm. Busy place and food was amazing. I actually ate everything in my bowl. Very rarely do I do that. Thanks to the chef in the back making it happen.

The restaurant I would say feels really tightly packed in, isn't much distance between tables (I don't care about Covid distance, just like to have a conversation in relative privicy). Sat right under the bar, and after asking for another drink during meal, I thought, we would get it quickly....nope, didn't receive it at all, but it was on the bill at the end. Server did take it off after advising we never got the drink we asked for. Food wasn't absolutely amazing, at very best just average, starter was better than the main. I probably wouldn't come back to this restaurant. Prices are okay, I got the 2 set menu for £15.

Food was so yummy. Been wanting to visit the restaurant but they closed the restaurants in Aberdeen. So when I got to Edinburgh I decided to try out their food. The mains were okay but really enjoyed the mushroom appetiser. The cocktail was soo good as well

Myself and my partner had walked passed this restaurant twice daily while on holidays in Edinburgh for a week and on the last day we finally got to enjoy it.
The place was buzzing which created a nice atmosphere. My partner got the Carbonara and I got the Bolognese both dishes were delicious and the dessert was amazing. Staff were very welcoming and friendly but a little bit slow when it came to ordering the dessert and getting the bill.
Would definitely return and recommend.

My partner and I had been looking at the menu pretty much every day we had been in Edinburgh, but had plans for dinner most days.
So we were hoping the opportunity would arise to go in, which it did and our only regret is... that we didn't go for dinner there sooner.

We had spent a few hours out and about Edinburgh enjoying street performances and had tried about 5 different restaurants and bars for dinner. Unfortunately none were keen on taking a family of four or demanded everyone ate a full meal. When we arrived at Bella Italia, everyone was so welcoming and accommodating from the moment we arrived, till the moment we left. Big thanks to the team for a lovely dinner and somewhere we are now likely to visit again when out and about the city. Top marks
