This restaurant gives an authentic Italian experience all the way here in Scotland. The food, all for a fair price, was exquisite. The sourdough pizzas are amazing! The vibe in the restaurant was also great and the staff was eager to help, all with a smile. We had a great time here, so I would certainly recommend this place for a quick bite or a lengthy meal.

Really nice pizza, I love the dough it's just so light and fluffy! I had the anchovy pizza as this is my go to wherever I see it at a pizza place. The aubergine parmigiana was quite bland but it tasted fresh. It could have done with a hint of basil or fresh herb to finish it off, but that's my taste. It's wasn't too expensive either and the no logo large was really nice. Be aware they put a "optional service charge" on the end of your bill which I always find a bit cheeky as the price of the food should cover the service. I would have tipped more if this had not been put on my bill.

Amazing pizza I have ever had. Fresh dough, wonderful toppings. It takes 45 minutes to get your pizza on the table after putting the order. But it was awesome. I had garlic bread with tomato base and pizza with mozzarella cheese, basil and tomato. Both were too yummy.Nice ambience, good staff.

I've only went in to take away a pizza for my partner. The service is fantastic, the staff are lovely and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Was offered a seat to wait in the restaurant while I waited, It only took 10 minutes for my order to be out to me despite it being fairly busy. Boyfriend also thoroughly enjoyed the pizza, fresh and doughy with mozzarella and fresh basil. Happy face and small happy dances were had lol. Said he particularly enjoyed the pizza sauce. Would highly recommend for a good night.

I visited almost all the Franco Manca in London and I was not really impressed, but the one in Edinburgh was another story... the pizza is amazing (I had n.3 on the menu), one of the nicest I've tried outside of Italy 😻 and I will definitely go there again on my next trip to Scotland!

Easily the best Franco Manca I've ate at. Fast and friendly service. This is one of the best value for money places to eat at with classic Neopolitan pizza and with the eat out to help out September deal it's a deal that feels to good to be true.... but it's true! We had a very nice lunch/ dinner from 4pm till around 6pm and we liked everything! Great service, friendly staff and good food. We had pizza n2 and n4, hazelnut chocolate cake (which comes with a vanilla ice cream scoop), double ice cream (chocolate and vanilla) and a latte. I have been to other Franco Manca restaurants in London and they never disappoint me! I can now say it's the best pizza-franchising in the UK. I also recommend eating there during quiet times so you can enjoy your food and service at their best!

Just ordered this as a collection tonight. Didn’t have to wait too long for it but when I got back to the place we were staying discovered the ham ricotta and mushroom pizza (4) had absolutely no mushrooms on it. I came with a friend who was visiting from Rome. They loved the pizza as did I! Perfect base and delicious! The coffee was also great. Just like the bars in Rome and fir me that’s a big plus as it’s amazing how difficult it is to get consistently great coffee in Edinburgh. I’ll be back for sure!

Seeing the pizza brought to my table made my limbs shiver out of sheer excitement. The shimmering oils oozing from the deepest layers accentuated its finest angles and made me crave it even more. During our stay in Edinburgh we were looking for a good place to have a lunch and we were lucky to walk in Franco Manca randomly, we loved it so much! Atmosphere inside the restaurant was lovely. We ordered two pizzas and I can easily say it was THE BEST pizza we tried. This was something that we always wanted to find, fresh made dough, incredible topping selection and perfect ingredient combo on pizza! We also had a spicy lamb sausage with potatoes and mozzarella cheese as a starter, it was a good choice. Staff was attentive and friendly, thank you. I highly recommend to try their pizzas, you won't be disappointed!

Not particularly expensive at £7.95. Not a huge fan of the extra 10% service charge. They literally said what do you want then carried a plate a few yards. If we had been there hours constantly being waited on maybe so.

Food was good, very poor service. We ordered a bottle of wine which was served in old, scratched tumblers - not wine glasses. Such a simple change of ensuring you serve the drink in the correct glass makes a huge difference. The waiter and waitress were arguing about where to seat us when we arrived. It was awkward and made us feel like we were a nuisance. The overall service felt rushed and it wasn’t busy, it was a shame. The food was actually delicious and came quickly. They saved themselves with the food however I am not in a rush to go back due to the poor service.

Really very enjoyable simple pizzas and happy buzz. The food has an authentic simplicity and filling lightness which is incredibly rare in UK pizza places. They do a few nice salads as alternatives as well. The staff are all nice enough even if they tend to be dashing around constantly. Marshall in particular is incredibly helpful, knowledgeable about the food (e.g. techniques and origins) as well as generally being a great ambassador for the restaurant.

Firstly, great pizza! I tend to stick to the anchovies one as there are no halal options which is a let down but the one I get is delicious! I find the staff slightly prickly and deceptive. They are running a "£5 any pizza" deal and when I went in on Saturday night with a friend, once I had been seated they told me that that deal was not on at that time. Fair enough, I can't expect a bargain everyday. I ended up with the delicious pizza and made a mental note to return between Monday and Thursday for that offer. The place was pretty dead. We were amongst maybe three other tables that were occupied that evening. The place shut at 6 due to pandemic restrictions. At around 17:30 the lady that waited for us could not wait to get us out. Again, benefit of the doubt to the staff, they probably can't wait to get home and fair enough, work is not always so much fun, particularly in these circumstances. I have to say though, passive aggression like this is not what I would expect from staff. Today, I returned for a tasty pizza and I asked the staff member if the deal was on for "any pizza" and she said yes, I was directed to a table. I ordered my usual but as this deal was on I thought, heck why no add some buffalo mozzarella? And then I did. Again the same waitress from Saturday was overbearing and after I had eaten my pizza, couldn't wait to get me to leave, walking incredibly fast around the restaurant that had three further tables occupied. I thought this time round it was just rude. The time was only 16:00 and there is no benefit for her to rush me to pay. I had spent maybe 20 or 30 minutes in the place. When the bill came, they had charged me for the mozzarella on the pizza, making my order £8 odd. The poster outside doesn't say that this is not for all pizza's but does say I should read terms and conditions. It does not actually have terms and conditions on the poster but says "any pizza £5", it doesn't even say Monday to Thursday! I never challenged this because I found the waitress quite passively rude, like someone with no patience for me. I'm sure she's a decent person, I just think that sometimes working in an environment can make people abrupt and she likely just needs retraining. The other lady that let me in knew that I was here for the discount and when I added the mozzarella, she should have told me that it's not in the deal as I asked her about it initially. Feels a bit like these folk just want to fleece you and get you out ASAP. Honestly, despite the pizza being great, there are many places in this city where you can get pizza to that standard. I'm not sure I'll return because if there's one thing I really dislike, it's the feeling of a customer being viewed as nothing but a pound sign and the erosion of all good will the minute a request is made or a meal is finished.

The environment is 10/10, the service is 10/10 , and the pizza most of the times is 9/10* . I honestly can compare it to pizzas that they are making in Italy. That good. They have also, really good cocktails in very good prices. Don't miss the chance to go there. Like if you have only a day In Edinburgh, go and eat this pizza. You would live it I guarantee it. *I am saying that because, of the different pizzas that they are making. Although, almost all of them are tasty they might be a bit weird for the tasting buds for some people. However, give it a try !

Not as good as other Franco Manca experiences. Service - The waitress was attentive but she seemed to be trying to upsell us by offering all of the alcohol specials (it was 11.45am in the morning), telling us the pizzas we had chosen had no tomato (they were the little tomato options) and asking if we wanted to add more tomato for £1. Also 5 minutes before our pizzas were ready she came over to tell us and asked us if we wanted olives whilst we wait - doesn’t make much sense if the food is in 5 mins.. Kitchen - I had the butternut squash salad which promised roasted butternut squash and what I got was a cold butternut squash purée spooned on the salad - that can’t be right. If they didn’t have the butternut squash I’d rather be told before I choose that option. My partners pizza was number 3 with the potato, pesto, sundried tomatoes and Stilton, and he mentioned the tomatoes were too vinegary and couldn’t taste the Stilton. It seems more attention could be paid in the kitchen as I’ve had delicious food at the other Franco Manco restaurants in London.

Loved their thin-crust sourdough pizzas. Strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly Italian like pizzeria. Also, their on-line virtual queue is an excellent idea! It allows you to join a queue on their website in order to be seated later, as long as you are close to the place, but not necessarily keeping you there whilst you wait. Meaning that you start to queue before you arrive and doesn't stop you from wondering around the neighbourhood. Brilliant.

For me it was the first time I've ever tried Franco Manca and overall I can say it was the best authentic pizza ever. Delicious sourdough base with perfect crust. Attentive staff and lively atmosphere. The waitress took very good care of our table and she always had that smily face even the place was fully crowded. Before we leave the place, I've managed to get the name of the waitress with glasses, Charlotte. I want to thank you again for your efforts to make us enjoying those delicious food and you've made our evening. At the end you'll get exactly what you have paid for. Highly recommended.

Some people might want to take your delicious pizzas to a park and eat outside without access to pizza cutters or knives so please cut them in the future :)

The food tasted really good and was well priced. It came out really quick too, which was good because they were quite busy at the time. and the place was nearly full with the lunchtime rush. The service was fine and I had no complaints about it but in terms of constructive feedback I think the manager could have been a wee bit bit warmer/ friendlier - and she was dressed more casually than all the diners which I found slightly weird!! Loved the pizza and the staff was incredible nice! The only thing that stops me from giving 5 stars is the glasses - it was my second time here and both times the glasses had a weird smell. Not initially, but as soon as I poured water in, the glass started to smell disgustingly. I don't know what it was, but it happened both times. It wasn't the water because the water tasted fine, but maybe it's a smell from the dishwasher or something? It really put me off tbh

First of all, great location. Excellent service with a wide variety of pizza options and starters. Recommend the Rosemary and salt bread starter. I ordered the basil and buffalo moz pizza, the dough was fantastic but the toppings were very milky and soupy - usually caused by not having the mozarella pre cut and refrigerated or drained properly to get rid of the excess milk. This resulted in a pink milky mess which just soaked the dough...I was gutted as a pizza enthusiast but as they say - bad pizza is still good pizza! Crust tasted great however and the 24 hr rise makes all the difference. I was able to eat a whole pizza and not feel full. Would like to visit again as their oven is AMAZING!!!

As Neapolitan guy, I've been very surprised to find such a cheap and authentic pizzeria in the heart of Edinburgh. I've had one starter, one pizza, two cokes and a dessert for 16£!!!
