Reviews of Pomo Pizzeria
📍Our very first Pizzas since we stepped foot in Europe!
🍕Pomo Pizzeria, Edinburgh
While we were on a budget, Navian & Wei Theng recommended us an authentic Italian Pizza restaurant where a wood-fire oven is skilfully used. With pizzas ranging at about 9 £, it looked like a place worthy of a try.
🔥The experience was lovely. The interior was warmly lit up (notice in the photos that the pictures are 'warm' and orangey). The staff who happen to be Italians, were extremely accommodating and friendly.
🍝Greedy us, we over-ordered. Haha.. But truly, it was DELICIOUS; rich with generous amounts of cheese, spicy with their hot sauces and infused with a wood-smoked taste. The Quattro Formaggi (4-cheese) pizza was a killer. The pastas were also lovely; we had Risotto Funghi Misti and the Gnocchi Sorrento.
😁If you're in Edinburgh, and you're craving for authentic Italian pizzas, here's the spot!
Amazing place, food was so great we went back the next day! Staff made us very welcomed, the chef made a fish shaped pizza for my daughter which made her so happy and the lady called Francesca was very kind!
Definitely will be back
We ordered Christmas special 3 course deal, it was absolutely amazing! Starter, pizza and desert were very delicious and filling. Nice relaxing atmosphere, polite and friendly staff. There was a confusion about the order, so extra food was prepared accidentally, but they took it back and everyone was happy!
We may organise another large lunch with friends in this restaurant. Would definitely recommend everyone to try it, you will not be disappointed! By the way, not only pizza is very delicious, it is approved by Italian critics ;)
Beyond impressed with this place.
My girlfriend and I visited the other night for somewhere to eat while we’re staying up in Edinburgh. The staff are extremely friendly and do very well at making you feel welcome. There is a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant and pricing is very reasonable.
The food is nothing short of delicious. We both thoroughly enjoyed our pizzas and the flavours were so rich and intense; not to the point that they were too much though. We had a little left over that we wanted to finish at home and takeaway pizza boxes were sorted for us with no problem at all.
I should also add I have a dairy and egg allergy and my food caused me no problems whatsoever. The mozzarella was replaced with a vegan alternative and all of the ingredients were checked accurately to accommodate for my dietary needs.
Big thanks to the staff for providing us with warm service, delicious food and a night to remember. Look forward to returning soon!
Recommend this Italian restaurant !
The atmosphere was very cosy and rustic, food was tasty and fresh. Good quality products. You can choose between Roma and Neapolitan style dough for your pizza which is great. Good portion size as well !!
Very nice place, nice and friendly staff. we ate pizza 'Nduja and a special pizza with ham, burrata and mozzarella. We wanted to vary and we did well, both were great. for dessert we took classic tiramisu even if it didn't look very classic but it was good. I would definitely come back!
Probably the best Italian restaurant I've ever been to outside of Italy! The food was delicious and my partner said it was the nicest risotto they'd ever had.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Pomo to anyone visiting Edinburgh, and I hope to come back again next time I visit!
Nice food, okay service and reasonable prices.
Lost one star due to automatically adding a service charge to the bill.
As a customer I should decide if I want or not to tip the team and not the other way around.
Google recommended this place since it already had such great reviews and was near where we were staying, so why not give it a try? We got an Uber to the place and were seated immediately upon arriving. We ordered drinks, I had their orange lemonade which was delicious and my mom had a wine which she said was also very good. To start off we had some bruschetta which was delicious! Then my mom had the pasta bolognese which she said was the best bolognese she had ever had, and I had the Pizza Pollo (not pronounced like the Spanish word for chicken which is what I had thought since there was chicken on it ) but that pizza was amazing as well. It was so good that I almost finished the whole thing! But I had to save room for dessert which was a Cheesecake Brule which was just as tasty as the rest of the dinner had been. Definitely, a must-go-to spot if you are in Edinburgh looking for some good pizza.
Absolutely loved the food here - a different style of pizza to any I've had before and it was delicious. The waitress even threw together a mocktail for me as there weren't any on the menu. Will definitely be returning when I visit Edinburgh again! ☺️
