Reviews of Salerno Pizza
U. G.
Popped in to the new St James centre on a busy Saturday afternoon. Had lunch with a friend. Service was great and excellent pizza. Reasonable prices and nice wine.

The best pizzas in Edinburgh! I come here regularly and they never fail to live up to my expectations, such authentic and tasty pizzas, you get so much for your money too. Staff are always super friendly and helpful, service is speedy, and the atmosphere is very relaxing and cosy.

Have been here for a couple of birthday parties, and it's always a happy environment, as well as a smart looking place. The pizza and other food is lovely. I have noticed that the portion sizes of some products may be too much for some, but it shows that the restaurant is quite generous.
M. S.
Being Portuguese, we have a particular taste in pizzas. So it was good but the restaurant lacks in diversity. There only 9 pizzas to choose from.
Overall, taste was great.
Staff was very polite.

Overall great experience. Beautiful and spacious restaurant. Good pizza selection. Vegan options available. Very good quality food and very decent prices. Highly recommend.
M. I.
The pizzas were overpriced and tasted okayish. The crusts were burn. Can make better ones at home, not sure what the hype is about!
R. B.
Pizza was ok, kids weren't into it. Pizza size is decent. Garlic was massive which kindda ruined it. Ricotta was super soft. It was like dance music that was on, quite loud too. Took 15 mins to get my bill after asking. 🤷♂️ Just no that kid friendly to be fair.
J. N.
Very tasty pizza. The bread of the pizza was very well cooked. I wish there was slightly more marinara sauce on the pizza. Pizza was a little dry but overall was tasty.
N. B.
Popped in for lunch, had some wine and pizza, as well as olives and a salad.
Food was reasonably priced, service was good and waiting times were fair.
Would go back, but would be nice to have a wider selection of salads (not just side ones).
M. B.
The pizza is really good, really fast service too so good for a quick lunch. The only odd thing was when the bill came it was put down in front of us and the card machine whipped out as he asked us how we wanted to pay. He then stood over us while we sorted out splitting the bill - it was a bit eager and pressured!

Best pizza in Edinburgh by far! 🍕
Quick service & nice ambiance.

As soon as I've stepped in this pizzeria I felt like at home. Super friendly staff, especially floor staff Marica and the pizza chef Mauro. Me and my partner had a delicious pizza each and then some great cannoli and of course a classic italian Espresso coffee. It is in a great location as it's the perfect place where to spend a Sunday while shopping!
Keep up the good job guys
H. M.
Delicious pizza, nice and laid back atmosphere and great value - will definitely be back!

Wonderful authentic pizza, much better than any of the usual pizza places.

One of the bests pizzas I’ve ever had!
They have many options and they do them on the moment so you can customise everything. The price is also great.

Stumbled into this place after a packed Saturday in Edinburgh left us with nowhere to eat, so Salernos walk up policy on a Saturday was a god send. So glad we found it, really friendly front of house manager and friendly staff to match. Prices were reasonable and the pizza was excellent, especially their authentic sugo which makes the pizza taste delicious. Will be returning here again next time we are in Edinburgh.
V. V.
Giving 4 stars as this last time my husband and I went there, the starter came after the pizza. Garlic bread after pizza just didn't work.
But any pizza with sugo is just delicious - totally recommend.

Very cozy pizzeria in heart of Edinburgh. Selection of pizza is not big, however, they are very very good. Nice place to spend time with family.

The staff at Salerno St Jame’s quarter were extremely helpful. Due to covid and my health condition, I asked if we could sit outside in the cafe area where it was closed for the day. Analisa and Jonny were really kind & polite in serving us sitting outside in the food court. I would like to thank them both very much. We will be sure to come here in our next visit to Edinburgh. N & E from Glasgow

Always a good and safe choice for good pizzas whenever in town. Fairly low priced for great quality food.

Just wandered in. Quick, friendly service and the Neapolitan Spianata pizza was excellent. Good craic with the manager too!

Amazing service ! Great team working when I visited big thanks to Marica and angel amazing team and great experience! Big thank! Really great pizza and very much like true Naples pizza !
C. W.
Nice, good value, pizza place in the St James Centre. Option for vegan cheese (and they also had a vegan special on the board). Would certainly come here again!

We were here today and had to queue to get in. Well worth the wait. The pizzas were absolutely amazing and the service polite and quick. Thank you
B. L.
I don't post reviews much but I feel compelled to do so as the pizzas we ordered and tasted were no joke the best I've had anywhere in the world. OK I do not typically order pizza when abroad but UK without a doubt the best I've had.
The pricing had my initially suspect the sizes were going to be small but how wrong was I, they were massive! The pizzas themselves had a really generous amount of toppings and they looked really aesthetically pleasing. The most surprising aspect was the pizza base being so thin it felt light and left a very nice after taste rather than the typical doughy and bloated feeling you generally get from the norm.
Love this place, I can definitely see the prices of this place going up over time once they realise how good their pizzas are and the crowd flocking in so I'll be back very soon!!
M. T.
This is my second time to Salerno, can’t fault it and already planning another visit. The service, pizza, ambiance perfecto. Big thanks to Mauro.
V. G.
A good choice for cheap pizza in a high paced environment. Quality of the pizza wasn’t great, a bit soggy and the cheese falls right off. But we were happily surprised when the bill came.
A. F.
Real Italian pizza in the center of Edinburgh, best taste you can find around with kind and helpful service. Excellent ambiance in a very well decorated local. If you do like pizza and pasta, it's a spot you must visit
D. W.
AMAZING PIZZAS! Would recommend this place to anyone that loves pizza, and even though I don't like cheese on mine, they were able to provide a "non cheese pizza" Thank you so much!
M. W.
Amazing pizza, a must go in Edinburgh! Lovely and friendly staff ,shoutout to Paweł.Highly recommend the place.

Really impressed with this place. Food was excellent and cost was very reasonable, particularly given its location. Will definitely be back.

I had the Prosciutto Pizza number 7 and my partner the red pepper and spinach pizza number 9. I had the meat platter as a side.
The food and service was outstanding. It was also superb value for money and was washed down with a lovely Italian Cider.
I would highly recommend this establishment.
A. M.
Incredibly tasty pizza, super friendly waiter Paul/Pawel ice creams could be bigger. Like BIGGER. 😆
J. T.
Visited Oct 21. Really nice pizza. One of the pizzas was gluten free and for once was the same size as the regular pizza. Good value for money. Would really recommend this place
M. S.
Great service very tasty pizza wonderful service by Pawel and Roman definitely will come back again.

One of the best pizza we had outside Italy. Everyone in the family loved the pizzas. Even the fussy eater kids found it yummy, we had to another pizza just for the kids.
L. M.
Pizza is Amazing! Definitely going back and would definitely recommend :)
R. F.
Lovely pizzas made in only 90 seconds. Everyone in the party was happy with their choice.
My only con is that we ordered a veggie platter and some olives and the waiter did not say that the platter also comes with olives...
S. M.
Pretty much as close as you'll get to Naples in Edinburgh. Good pizza.
L.
Pizza was adequate, massive chunks of garlic( unnecessarily big), Staff just wandered about and stood right next to you and stared at you/ chatted to other workers whilst you eat and a funky smell in the restaurant. Guy who gave us the bill didn’t seem too happy but ye was alright
A. M.
Great find we had one of the best pizzas in a long time .I lived in Italy for 3 years so tasted many definitely authentic italien pizza how they should be .Can't wait to go back next time we are in Edinburgh.

(Translated) The pizzeria is located in the shopping center. The venue is nice with soft lighting. Super nice staff. The pizza is ordered by number instead of the name, good but a little bland and charred on the bottom.

La pizzeria si trova nel centro commerciale. Il locale è bello con luci soffuse. Il personale super gentile. La pizza si ordina a numero invece del nome, buona ma un pò insipida e bruciacchiata sul fondo.

(Translated) An excellent pizzeria in Edinburgh's new St James Quarter.
My only criticisms are that there was a bit of a queue to get in, but there were four of us after all. The interior is full, but not too crowded. And that the pizza base could be a little thicker.
However our pizzas (margherita, spicy sausage, and base with added olives) were very good, reasonably priced for Edinburgh. The entire menu was both varied and authentic.
If you are in town and you are hungry for pizza, this is the place for you!
