Reviews of Vittoria on the Bridge
A. S.
Ravioli Leandro was so scrumptious that we ordered twice for our glutton's delight. The authentic Italian restaurant is no less than a story of a chance visit for a casual lunch with family and toddlers, that turned out to be the best decision we made after the day long stroll in the town and the Royal Mile. They gracefully accepted our demands to the choice of our own toppings on Pizza, when we wanted to swap the meat with veggies from their famous pizza menu offerings. The place is definitely the best one on the street and highly recommended.
J. x.
Very very busy recommend you book. Staff friendly. So many people coming in to eat.
Meal tasty
Table where we were sitting was close to the door, so cold draft needed coat over my shoulders.
Restroom definitely needs upgrading.
G.
The best Italian restaurant in Edinburgh. Great atmosphere, professional staff with amazing authentic Italian food in the heart of the city.
Went there for our Valentines meal. Had a gorgeous set menu meal and everything was fresh and tasty.
Had the mussels as a starter, tagliatelle Vittoria, ham and artichoke pizza and lemon meringue Sundae.
I can not recommend Vittoria highly enough. Simply A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!
B. W.
Amazing food and great service, we was well looked after throughout our meal. We didn’t feel rushed after finishing our food, amazing value for money with a wide variety of food. Highly recommend.
E. K.
Stopped in for an early dinner after a long day walking around Edinburgh.
We ordered some drinks and then decided on the Chicken Liver Pâté and Arancini for starters, and then the half & half pizza and pasta for dinner. Loved that this was an option as we often share our main courses anyway, so it was fab that they offered this upfront and we were able to share two choices.
The food was amazing and the staff were very accommodating and polite.
The restaurant itself was beautiful and very light and airy.
R. W.
Great place to eat and only 15 minutes walk from the Novotel Hotel Edinburg Centre.
Customer service 5 stars, they could not do enough for us.
Food 5 stars, quick and delicious.
Location 5 stars, really central.
No fresh chilies available.

Echoing a few of the other reviews with praise at the friendliness and efficiency of the staff. We slipped in close to closing time but they still allowed us to order - was accidentally brought the wrong order but this was rectified within minutes, with polite apology. The sea food pasta hit the spot as did the pesto and prawn. The decor was also stunning. Will definitely be back!
N.
Honestly the waiters know true customer service, super friendly and super helpful. The design of the restaurant was modern and just looked clean and perfect, the selection of food and drinks where vast and the quality was outstanding. Definitely will be back in the near future
A. J.
A very busy place on a Saturday night. But they found us a space. We had a few small bites, all had tremendous flavour. A very lively environment.
L. W.
One of the best italian restaurants if not best restaurant in general i’ve ever been to, hosts were very attentive and service was quick, food was amazing and portion sizes were perfect, definitely would recommended
M. C.
Quick service! The food was overall average, but the carbonara tasted a bit fishy and I had to swap for my partners pizza, the waitress was lovely but unfortunately asked him my food was before I had eaten any! I wonder if it was cooked in the same pan as something fishy beforehand. Our waitress was really lovely though, would have given 5 stars for her! Great Service, Not so great food.
R. S. C.
Food was delicious! The pasta were on point 👌🏻👌🏻 We had a great time here.
B. B.
Dropped in for lunch without booking. The staff were great and sorted us a table.
Place was busy but service was great and there wasn't much of a wait before we were tucking into some tasty food.
One thing that often irks me is when tables are too close together, but this place was great. I didn't feel like I was sat on the lap of the guy on the next table.
Nice monitoring work by the front of house team, perfectly judging when we needed looking after. Food was spot on.
Thank you for a lovely lunch.
Until next time...
L. W.
Literally cannot recommend this wonderful place enough! The staff are so friendly and efficient, the food is amazing, the atmosphere is just lovely. We’ve been here twice in a week and will definitely be coming back again. I can’t remember the last time I visited a restaurant with such great service and food. It’s a “must” when visiting Edinburgh! Thanks again guys

Lovely food, good size portions and great service
H. G. S.
Arrived early for a booking tonight and was allowed to sit down immediately, the restaurant was almost full which is a good sign. Food arrived minutes after ordering and was piping hot and fresh. Excellent thoughtful service and this is real Italian food with a few easy going dishes mixed in . Hard to beat so far on this trip.
D.
One of the best Italian restaurants I have been to, staff could not have been more accommodating and friendly. Big selection of gluten free options. Very quick service and delicious food. Will definitely be back.
O. H.
Very accommodating. Arrived without a booking, offered space at the bar until a table was free. Did not fidget about us which made us feel valued. The food and service were both excellent.
H. R.
The food was good but we were having major issues getting service from the staff. We eventually ordered drinks and food but our drinks took so long to come that our food actually arrived first. We also received the bill at the end but gave up trying to flag down a waiter so we could pay it as there seemed to be none around. We had to walk up to the bar in order to pay our bill. It would have been a much better experience if there were more staff around to provide service when it was needed
C. B.
Amazing! couldn’t be happier with the service. there was a massive party of people next to us but we still got amazing service and the atmosphere was really good. food was incredible as well! thank you so much Marco and Daniele- outstanding!!
C. G.
Pesto, pasta, chicken, pine nuts, tomatoes!!! Winning combination! Went with friends on Monday on their first evening in Scotland and had a super meal. Marco lookes after us wonderfully, friendly and cheerful as were all the other staff. My favourite place for Italian food in Edinburgh.
M. N.
Went here for a team dinner. We were a very large group and had to preorder our meals. The service was very prompt. Meals came out very close together so no one was waiting too long. All the meals were very good. Drinks were reasonably priced. Good value for money.
L. E.
Good sized portions, food is nice. Its a fairly standard italian. Seems to cater towards tourists, big portions and quick service. The staff are pleasant. For a quick dinner its okay but I wouldnt recommend it for a special occasion
D. T.
Brilliant food, fantastic service, great atmosphere & very reasonably priced!
T. k.
Cracking food, we didn't book and chanced availablity which they had so tick there. Food was incredible and a large menu with lots of choice. However Service sucked the staff are rushing around so fast nobody's asks how your getting on do you need anything else. I asked 4 different people for the bill because they kept forgetting. No idea who our actual waitress or waiter was as they kept swapping so didn't know who to tip so left none. I was greatful for the last minute entry but don't think I'd go back it's to manic not enough for me. It was very good value though bout £70 for two courses and cocktails which is great
K. R.
We had a great meal, service was first class and food was fantastic. Was really busy which shows how good this palace is. Price was fair for an Italian 3 course meal.
R. M.
Through from Glasgow for the night. Lots of excellent Italian restaurants in Glasgow to compare to but I have to say this was possibly the best Italian meal I've ever had. Service was superb and the restaurant was modern and welcoming.
G. P.
10 of us had dinner here and none of our party could find fault with service or food.
A very good Italian restaurant with very good and experienced staff who looked after us without being intrusive.
The food was good value with generous portions.
We had a most enjoyable evening and will visit again when next in Edinburgh.
I. P.
Mixed experience eating here. The food was average (pizza was very yummy but some of our party thought their pasta dishes were very average). The waitress we had also was quite grumpy! We had booked a table for 8.15 but when we arrived there wasn't a table ready, so we had to wait about 20 minutes, but they didn't really let us know how long it would be - they kept saying it would be 'soon'. I understand it was busy but it was a bit frustrating. However, they did give us free prosecco for the wait which was nice of them!
R.
Food was delicious, and good service. Have been a few times with family and In laws. Would recommend highly
D. W.
Fantastic service from Francesca. So welcoming. Starters, mains and desserts were all awesome. When someone asks me to recommend a restaurant this is it!
S. E.
Best Italian meal we've ever had and the portions were huge! Absolutely gorgeous place with fab atmosphere and welcoming staff
Can't wait to come back!!
A. M.
If I could give more than five stars, I would. The food was unbelievably good and the service was exceptional. Very highly recommended.
M. M.
Food and service very good however think abit overpriced for just a pizza, we have been going there for years have noticed pasta portions are smaller and prices are higher especially after covid
If your a big eater then not the place for you.
J. K.
Amazing food. Impeccable service. The staff treat you like family. A treasure on George IV Bridge! Our new must go to each trip across the pond.
k. l.
So this is my third visit and must say the place is packed everytime but the food and service has been consistently good so I felt compelled to leave a positive review. Keep up the good work
K. D.
Delicious food and very friendly and warm staff. Really enjoyed our meal here.
J.
Amazing food, a big variety to choose from. Really good service, friendly staff.
M. H.
We were a very large group with different orders. These were well managed and taken care of. Staff are friendly and food was good. Thank you.
R. A.
Great meal had by 15 members of the GB Basketball teams. Reasonable prices, great service and lovely atmosphere.
S.
Really lovely and filling meal. The service was excellent. Not the place if you have mobility issues, the toilets are down lots of stairs, but lovely and clean.
T. M.
We were looking for student budget friendly and birthday suitable place to eat and the outdoor sign said that the lunch is till 5pm. So we decided to give it a go.
So elegant and fancy place, yet so relax and nice. First we thought is it okay to be under-dressed there but soon we noticed that everybody is with their jeans and t-shirts.
Customer service was very kind and professional.
Food was also great! I had the Caserecce pasta with smoked salmon and broccoli. Interesting but very delicious combination!
B. T.
Food was AMAZING!! Service just a little slow.
L. G. L. V.
Nice place. Family friendly. Good prices. Recommended: Chicken and spinach risotto, pizza primavera.
M. R.
Really enjoyed our dinner tonight at Vittoria on the Bridge. The pasta was amazing ! Id you like Italian you will not be disappointed. Our favourite was the Black Fettuccine Scallop dish! Top dish of our trip so far.
The service was the only reason I did not give it a 5 out of 5. It just did not have the personal and intimate feel as other resturants we having been visiting in the UK.
E. C.
First time visiting Vittoria after being recomended.Staff were welcoming and accommadating as I have a wheelchair.Food was Amazing.Staff and manager were attentive but not intrusive the whole atmosphere was relaxed even although they were busy. Was a lovely Birthday treat .Would give more than 5 stars if i could.
M. G.
Lovely dining experience. Very friendly and attentive staff, fast service, nice atmosphere and delicious food. Definitely recommend if you're in the area.
P. R.
Delicious food, friendly staff and a nice new bright make-over. Great gluten free and vegetarian option# (the only place we've been to where the gluten-free pizza is bigger than the ordinary!) and the cocktail menu is also great. We go here every time we are up in Edinburgh.
P. D.
Lovely staff great service. Food was delicious piping hot and good size portions.
C. W.
This is obviously a popular busy cafe restaurant with a fairly quick turnover of diners. Theres a pleasant bustle about the place and the service is friendly and efficient. Only 4 stars because there are rather too many tables with not a lot of space between. With diners coming and going this lack of space becomes annoying. Also on tables for two one of you ends up looking at the wall most of the time.
The calamari stater was perfect as was the ice cream and coffee. The meatballs looked great but was that cinnamon and sugar in the sauce? That spoilt it for me.
Also not a fan of a 10% 'discretionary' gratuity being added to the bill.
S. D.
Visited this restaurant with 5 other people whilst visiting Edinburgh for the weekend. Everyone had a starter and main course with limoncello to finish. Everyone was very satisified with the meals. Very tasty, good portion sizes and good service all at a very reasonable price. Extensive menu to choose from. I will be back when I return to Edinburgh
J. D.
Visited this restaurant on many occasions, never had a bad meal.
Staff friendly and attentive.
M. W.
Been into Vittoria a couple of times over the last couple of months and don't intend on stopping anytime soon. My first visit was with my family, we got the garlic bread and Mac'n'cheese croquettes to share. Both were lovely!
I then chose to have the fiocchi pasta with cheese and pear - heavenly parcels of pasta filled with soft cheese & pear in a creamy gorgonzola sauce with pear & walnuts - yum! I opted to make mine the starter size and this was definitely the right choice for me and was the perfect size. My dad and sister chose to have pizza, which came out and were bigger than the plate! Very generous portions! Had a taste of each and they were delicious!
My next visit I chose to have the dish I was deliberating on my first visit - the meatballs in sweet and sour sauce. Best meatballs I have had, the sauce was deliciously sweet and sour and a lovely adaptation to the normal tomato sauce. Came with a side of garlic bread which was lovely and crispy and perfect for mopping up the last of the sauce. Again I chose to have the starter meatballs but you can also get them from the main menu which comes with pasta.
Service on each visit was quick and staff were very accommodating with me choosing starters as mains etc.
Will definitely return and would highly recommend!
N. C.
Very busy, very good quick service by friendly staff, but the food is 'Scottish italian' and not what you'd get in Italy.
P. R.
Nice Italian restaurant, with a busy but comfortable atmosphere. Service was fast and efficient.
J. K.
Large party of adults and kids, organisation and speed of the courses was amazing, also the patience with the kids was brilliant. Food was delicious.
R. T.
Amazing food, fast service and great staff! Only the music was a bit loud.
J. H.
Bustling and vibey. Friendly staff and good food.
S. P.
We were in Edinburgh staying for the weekend, choose to come here for food with 2 kids. Boys loved it. Food was great, service was fantastic. X
S.
Really lovely and filling meal. The service was excellent. Not the place if you have mobility issues, the toilets are down lots of stairs, but lovely and clean.
R. S.
Went for the dinner and all the dishes were delicious. Staff was polite and professional!
M. G.
Excellent cuisine, great service & reasonable prices! Highly recommended! My only regret is that my wife and I didn't have more time in Edinburgh as we would have visited Vittoria On The Bridge Restaurant again!
D. W.
Food delicious
L. B.
Great food and wonderful atmosphere! Staff was amazing, will come back for sure!
S. G.
Dined here 4 times on my recent stop in Edinburgh. The food was consistently excellent as was the very friendly management and staff. Highly recommended! Make reservations as the place is deservedly packed every night. Conveniently located near Edinburgh University. Well done to all that served myself and my family!
S.
Food and drinks were lovely. Staff was very attentive and welcoming. Definitely would go again
G. S.
I discovered this terrific restaurant on my recent visit to Edinburgh and I was so impressed. Whilst it was busy and I had not booked ahead, the head waiter did not turn us away and instead we were asked to wait a little whilst a table came free, but it was not long. The staff, the food (good portions) and the pace of service was absolutely first class and it can not be faulted. Long may it continue as I am sure one day I will be back. Thank you.
L. B.
Simply amazing food and service!! Quick seating even without a reservation for my family of 5. Pleasant staff. Food arrived quickly and hot. Our family had pizza, spaghetti carbonara, gnocchi, and kids chicken tenders. For dessert we had gelato and tiramisu. There cappuccinos are devine, as well!
K. B.
The pizza was good but the service wasn't great for a single diner. I have the diavlo. It had just enough heat and the crust was fantastic. However, I had to flag someone down every time I wanted something, from getting a menu to ordering to the check. They don't apparently assign anyone to the side bar single seating so unless I stopped someone, nobody was serving me
J. N.
Came up to Edinburgh from London with my mother just for one night so obviously wanted our one and only dinner in the city to be a good one but also reasonable! Looked on google for Italian and then originally booked for the restaurant downstairs (Divino) but upon entering it was completely dead and the menu looked a bit pricey. Then we went upstairs and the atmosphere was warm, buzzy and a very fun, family atmosphere in general. The manager immediately welcomed us and sat us down in the bar and offered us apéretifs.
For dinner we both elected to have the “meta a meta”, where we both each shared half a margherita pizza and half a serving of tagliatelle with tomato sauce and basil. It was absolutely delicious and wholesome, and was served to us slickly and attentively by waiter Cataldo.
We really enjoyed our meal and highly recommend to anyone visiting Edinburgh and wants a fun, easy yet satisfying meal in a friendly, warm restaurant.
V. B.
The food was delicious but I felt a bit unsafe as some members of the staff didn't wear a mask...
N. T.
Went for our evening reservation. It took a bit to get it table as others in from were still waiting to be seated.
Had the homemade bread to start - nothing spectacular and tasted like toasted supermarket bread. Ordered 2 pasta dishes and both were good but again nothing great. Had some ice cream for dessert and you guessed it... It was just okay.
The staff are friendly and polite. But the 10% service fee that is already added to your bill but "optional" is quite weird and awkward. Either make it mandatory or just don't put it into the total or on your menu.
Overall, I think the restaurant is just okay - nothing to write home about.
B. H.
Great restaurant. Booking essential and I can highly recommend the fixed price four course menus.
Lots of choice and everything is cooked and presented to a high standard. All the staff are friendly and helpful and go out of their way to make your visit a pleasant one.
S. G.

Excellent cuisine, great service & reasonable prices! Highly recommended! My only regret is that my wife and I didn't have more time in Edinburgh as we would have visited Vittoria On The Bridge Restaurant again!

Everything's good. The staff were friendly. Excellent food, good location and a beautiful and pleasant environment.
M. S.
Was seated at a table by the kitchen pass so not ideal. The food was very quick to arrive and arrived before the drinks. Food was ok. Overall it felt very rushed and not enjoyable or relaxing.
J. D.
Mine was pleasant, minestrone and tagliatelle Vittoria. Friend was disappointed with tempura and the tartare sauce that accompanied it.
a. t.
WoW. Love everything in this restaurant. Excellent delicious and tasty food. Very friendly staff. Nice decoration and Spacious. Clean.

Best Italian restaurant in Edinburgh!
We absolutely love coming here , amazing service and top quality food
H. C.
Very lively place, great for big groups, not somewhere for quiet intimate dining, great staff and wonderful italian food, good sized portions
N. I.
One of the best experiences I've had eating in Edinburgh! I went with a friend and were greeted with very poiite staff and offered drinks. Had a short wait at the bar and then ordered food.
The staff were simply phenomenal, they were so charismatic and lovely; they definitely go the extra mile.
The food was gorgeous: presentation, quality, balance of flavour and lightness. Sublime!
I'd recommend the homemade bread as a small starter because it was a great way to start the meal!
🇮🇹
G. P.
Delicious food, excellent, friendly service and buzzy atmosphere. What's not to like?
D.
We visited for lunch on Saturday. The staff were very friendly, especially towards our 1 year old daughter who just wanted to run around and explore, and we were seated quickly with no fuss. The menu is extensive and the Children's Menu very comprehensive too. Very reasonable prices for what was on offer. Would happily go back again.
R. O.
Large, busy three level Italian restaurant in the heart of Edinburgh. Staff all spoke Italian so I give this an authenticity plus factor of 1 star. Pizzas were large and yummy. Burger was meh. Staff are not really friendly though. Really just order takers.
H. Y.
Simply a good Italian restaurant. Starter and Pasta both tastes so good. Vol is quite big so you can share plate with your company.
m. j.
Lovely food, amazing staff and a lovely atmosphere. If you want a nice Italian place to visit in Edinburgh, this is my top pick. I recommend the meatballs, the sweet and sour sauce is both unique and delicious.
A. S.
You will love this family owned restaurant in the heart of Edinburgh Old Town. Superb food, quality wine and best of all? Seeing the team deliver outstanding service and delighting customers time after time. Special thanks to Marco who looked after my table (that's twice within a week) and Cheryl(?) : Some three days in to her role and already making the team proud👌. Ciao
j. s.
One of my favourite restaurants in Edinburgh great service fantastic food and reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

Great place, delicious Italian food, great service. The half-half portions are a big plus!
J. M.
Arrived without a booking, the best decision we made the staff were very welcoming and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend Vittoria On The Bridge superb.
S. S.
Very delicious! We had gf pasta (at no extra charge) and haggis. Both dishes were well made, very delicious and filling! We really enjoyed our meal and would love to come back. Also, the inside the restaurant was lovely and the staff was nice & friendly!

Excellent restaurant! Everything was perfect: the food was fantastic, the staff were very warm and welcoming, the toilet was squeaky clean! Would definitely recommend.
R. M.
These guys are incredible with allergies... I have 8 of the top 14 major allergies and my girlfriend is celiac.
The staff at vitoria were so careful and courteous, we felt really safe and looked after. We visited twice we felt that well looked after.
The food was also delicious, I would totally recommend... also the wine bar below is incredible too but that's a different review.
J. M.
The food and staff are excellent. Very authentic and make you feel very welcome.
S.
Beautiful food, great service!
T. M.
Amazing lovely place. Really authentic food and service is top quality!
J. H.
If you want an excellent, family run, well cooked italian food then you have to go to Vittoria!! This was our 2nd visit and wow!!!! It pays well to make the effort and dress well as some of the other client's don't seem to care to much for their presentation...thanks to all the staff that served us.. You made it another superb visit.
W. L.
Had a lovely meal yesterday in Vittoria on the Bridge. I'm vegan and they do a great selection of starters and main courses. You can choose any pizza and they will use vegan cheese. Vanessa served us and looked after us brilliantly. Many thanks, we will be back.
A. C.
Half and half deal great option. Montanara and black fettuccine and scallop both excellent
M. J.
Had dinner here twice it was so good! The staff was very nice and attentive.
D. K.
Lively atmosphere, friendly attentive service, good pasta.
S. M.
Unbelievable food. Excellent staff. Would recommend to all. Will definitely be back.😍
C. L.
From the buzz around the restaurant, it was clear that this is one of the most popular places to eat in Edinburgh. And, to an extent, I can see why. The food was of a decent quality, we had the Calamari Fritti, and the Calabrese and the Puttanesca pizzas. The food was fresh, tasty, and of a decent quality.
But the setting and service was quite poor. Downstairs, we were offered the table by the toilets. Maybe I shouldn't have accepted it? The staff were clearly very busy but things just didn't work. We were taken to our table, which wasn't clean, and had to wait for it to be cleaned. Then, the starters were not cleared before the mains came. As well as this, the staff were squeezing in and around behind our chairs - do they really need this table by the toilets? It's clearly in an awkward place and isn't great for anyone.
We didn't stay for coffee or dessert given that we felt we were in an awkward place and the service wasn't worth waiting for. We'd think twice about booking in the future.
'Fair to middling'.
K. Q.
Nice restaurant, friendly staff, great food. Unfortunately, one of our party's main orders was no longer available and we didn't find out til the other mains were served, which was disappointing, however they did make a good recovery and were extremely apologetic. Would go back
a. v.
Good Italian food, decoration, clean, bright, just wonderful!!!
D. M.
Good food and service. Gluten free options could have been better.
T. M.
Food was good but when they served the food was not hot.
K. Z.
Went for xmas lunch with friends, really busy at this time of year. Will come back on different time of year to compare food quality.
G. O.
Very good mid price Italian eatery

The food was pretty tasty but the service was lacking. Drinks order didn't arrive until after we had finished our starters. Staff were friendly but the whole experience felt slightly chaotic.
K. R.
Had Christmas dinner, very enjoyable, very busy with office Christmas parties but service quick and well attended to.
D. B.
The service we received from staff when we entered the restaurant till we left was first class. The Pronto menu met our needs with the dishes delivered excellent. I would thoroughly recommend visiting to taste the delicious food.
R. D.
The food here is incredible, the service was excellent. Try the prawns, they were one of the best we’ve ever had. Can’t recommend this place enough, thank you for a wonderful evening, can’t wait to come back.
D. R.
Excellent and very generously portioned food, with a bright and relaxed environment.
M. R. B.
Lovely birthday treat. Made to feel very welcome. Good food and drink
C. F.
Dropping my daughter back to university in Edinburgh and wanted somewhere close, we had been to another of their restaurants and the food and service was excellent so thought we would give it a try.
They were very accommodating and gave us a table straight away, the food and service didn't disappoint both were excellent and we will visit again.
Not only was the food and service excellent we were pleasantly surprised by the bill that wasn't over the top.
Keep up the good work and thank you for a great evening.
D. M.
Great Italian well worth a visit.
A. D.
Great location near the Royal Mile and Greyfriars. Lovely friendly staff and a great menu. The restaurant is well decorated and the food was really good. Also felt good that they are following all the covid guidelines. Would highly recommend.
A. P.
A fantastic place to go for some of the best pizza and pasta options we have ever had. Highly recommended. Great service and a great place to go with family and friends.
E. T.
Very helpful staff, amazing food and great service can't recommend this place so much
N. S.
Has the best night served by martina who was the best soxwell mannered and attentive. Defo recommend 👌
L. B.
Really warm welcome by the front our house! Great food and was even kind enough to give me a beer glass to take home. Already can’t wait to go back a fav of my freinds and family. Can not do any better food wise and service wise in Edinburgh. Thanks again
M. H.
Nice and cozy little place with great food and service. One person in our party was a vegetarian and had no problems fining a couple options to choose from. Great wine list and nice sized portions. Our server was very familiar with the menu and made some great recommendations. Can't wait to go back.
H. I. H.
Very good food and wine.
Nice waiters as well. A busy restaurant, therefore also some noice.
P. P.
Original Italian food I think but greasy for me, staff is nice.
G. Q.
Brilliant italian restaurant not far from Royal Mile. Lovely selection and great gluten free options for pizza and pasta lovers with allergies
P. H.
Wonderful birthday meal....
Thank-you.
A. M.
Food it was amazing nice staff very friendly defo back again xxx
s. M.
This place is excellent!! 8 of us dropped in without a booking last min, service was amazing. Cocktails were great, food was great, the sarcasm from the guy (possible manager) serving us was second to none 🤣 not to mention my staff basically drooling over him the whole meal! Great place, worth a try! ❤
K. C.
Lovely food but massive portions!
G. W.
Lovely restaurant, great staff and food.
Would reccomend visiting if in Edinburgh.
E. N.
Fantastic food and huge portions, great value and excellent service 😊
r. s.
Nice place, with friendly staff. The service was great and the food is ok. A nice choice in the city centre if you've not booked anywhere and it's busy
L. W.
Since our army buddy was in town, we booked a table for 13 to get together again. Our 'last supper' could not have gone better! I often find that a group booking can be hit and miss in restaurants, which is probably why many restaurants opt for the 'group menu'. Not Vittoria! We were placed at a lovely long table at the back of the busy restaurant, and were all presented with the menus. The waiter came by various times to ask if we wanted a drink, whilst waiting for our friends to arrive, which was very attentive! After settling in, we ordered some wine which arrived promptly, and ordered our starters and mains. The food came fast, and all in one go, which is really quite difficult to do for such a big table! Kudos! We never had to wait to order, water was replenished, wine was poured, empty plates were cleared in time - excellent service! The food was very good, better than I expected to be honest! There was a great choice, and I had the seafood pasta. The portion size was quite large for me. The dishes are simple, Italian food, and the presentation of the food is fine. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a good group experience.
J. G.
The service was amazing and the portions were very good. Some of the food did need a little extra salt that wasnt offered at the table. Other than that it was an amazing time
H. P. N.
Delicious food and an extensive menu. A lovely restaurant, though a tad noisy. Good service, the waiter rectified an error with my food very efficiently.
C. P.
Meal for two today, they catered really well for gluten free and the service was prompt and polite. Really reasonably priced even without the 50% deal today, I would definitely visit again at full price. Portions were large, hot and super tasty pizzas.
O. J.
Amazing Italian food and the staff is outstanding! I feel treated like a king! I remember Pedro and Marco, because they were taking care of our table. They were funny, respectful and it felt genuine and they really enjoy it working there! I’d definitely would come back!
A. N.
Excellent starter, great service and the Special of the Day was ravioli which was divine.
A. R.
Fabulous food and amazing cocktails. The service was brilliant and the atmosphere was lovely. Good portions and very reasonable prices
R. Y.
Lovely food , great ambiance & fantastic friendly service. First meal out with my girlfriend in months and well worth the wait! Highly recommended .
c. y.
Good food, waiter was unfriendly.
B. G.
Bit pricey but one of the best pizzas I have ever had.
M. C. N.
Maybe I was a bit unlucky but tbh I would give even worse than three if it was only myself. My mozzarela salad was basically can od pickled vegetable. Honestly I would call it disgusting. Atmosphere also super bad. Very busy, very crowdy, waitress all the time around your table rushing everywhere. So I give three star because my boyfriend's meat was good. Otherwise I was not good experience at all for me.
B. M.
The best Italian restaurant in the UK. Excellent food, excellent service, we travel from Livingston to eat here every week or so. 5 stars from me.
M. R.
Very busy!! Good was great. Drinks were perfect. Staff and ambiance perfect!! Highly recommend!
E. N.
Really friendly staff and tasty food. Good vegan and gluten-free options too!
S. I.
Food is gorgeous here, the pear and mushroom pasta with gorgonzola sauce is especially good and the foccacia starter is delicious (and enormous). Great service too and nice atmosphere. Had to wait a while to get the bill but good value for money
J. R. (. K.
Had pizza and it was delicious. Gluten free base was crunchy on the edges and was big but tasted good anyway. Wine selection is great. Both were quite cheap considering how good it was. Interior looked great but the staff felt a little clumsy and often clumped together on the front desk to talk which made the place a little uninviting.
M. C. C.
Lovely place for eating out, highly recommended. Beautiful food and the staff couldn't have done enough for us, very attentive and welcoming.
R. F.
I have frequented this restaurant over many years. The food is good and is moderately priced with a decent wine menu at affordable prices. I visited on Sunday 8th March and confirm that the standard of food was excellent but on this occasion the food was served on tepid plates - as a result the meal cooled down too quickly and the pasta side dish not hot at outset. As regards service this was rather offhand, the waiters lacked a degree of charm. When paying the bill I provided a 10% tip which was not even acknowledged by the waiter. One wondered “why bother tipping!” This restaurant could be so much better if it treated its customers with a little more courtesy.
S. L.
Upon arrival we were welcomed and although no seats were available and the restaurant was busy we were treated with courtesy and offered warmth until a seat became free.
I am vegan and gluten intolerant, there are not many places I can eat that offer both VE and GF meals, this place does!
Prices are a little high, but the fantastic service we received was worth paying for. The waitress who waited on us is an absolute credit to the restaurant.
If management read this, her name began with a D, she has shoulder length hair in a pony tail and wears spectacles...
A.
The whole experience was made better due to Imen, our server for the night. She was so bubbly and friendly and explained everything so well. The food was really good quality and the portions were very adequate. Flavours were on point and the whole ambience of the restaurant was very classy. Had so much fun and would definitely recommend!
D. C.
Nice place very friendly people. We both enjoyed our meals and the ambiance. Cheers guys
D. L.
Nice place, v friendly staff, an ok pizza - the base could have been so much better but the toppings were generous and quite tasty. The ice cream is good. I always go for pistachio and this was a good one.
J. A.
Brilliant Italian food! Pizzas are done properly on thin bases. The pasta is exquisite. I was there on a Saturday evening in summer and it was busy. I would recommend booking beforehand. Despite this the service was prompt and the waiting times for food was not overly long.
J. H.
Bustling and vibey. Friendly staff and good food.
J. F.
Outstanding! Meal wonderful, priced very reasonably, friendly staff. Busy, even early in the week, so very popular
D. S.
Lovely authentic Italian menu Friendly and efficient service. Music was a little depressing. Toilet was spotlessly clean Will go back
k. h.
Was a very busy service and the staff were still very attentive. The food was fantastic and the restaurant is beautiful. Highly recommended
D. B. P.
Good atmosphere. Good food, well served.
H. M.
Wonderful food ... so much choice and everything I had delicious. The mussels starter portion was incredibly generous. The half and half pasta and pizza enabled us to try 2 wonderful specials. All the breads were lovely and served warm.
L. A.
Regardless of how busy they are (fully booked) every member of staff could not be more accomodating and friendlier, the smile never leaves their faces and the care and attention to your custom is second to none from beginning to end!
I. L.
We have been eating there since 2011 and have always found the food to be excellent and the service very helpful. We especially like the Panacotta dessert . This restaurant is well worth a visit but can be very busy some days so you should think about making a reservation especially if your coming from out of town . The restaurants signature dish a spicy Italian sausage tagliatelle dish is well worth a try.
b. h.
Lovely Italian restaurant, went here for a Birthday treat for my 13 year old son . The food was lovely with good portions, price wise was typical of Edinburgh but wasn't keen on the service charge at 12% .
R. C. R.
Fantastic food accompanied by awesome service from the staff. We had a very good dinner for 4 adults and 6 children. The risotto, salmon, lasagna and tiramisu were of outstanding quality. Worth every pound we spent there.
B. S.
The food incredible and the service extremely nice, all the waiters are very professional and also kind, absolutelly recommendable!!! Love it!! Xx
R. H.
Simply a great place to eat. Staff serving us was great. Gluten free options galore, just be careful that you actually get gluten free food (should have a little Italian flag in it) sometimes they forget to add it. Didn't feel at all rushed even though there was an enormous amount of people waiting at the bar for a table.
M. A.
Nice Italian place with a high-end feel but without any of the pomp or fancy dress code. Don't make the mistake of ordering a starter AND a main... the portion sizes are generous and I had no room for dessert! Loved the Salmon Genovese. Great cocktail and whiskey menu. Pricing was fair for the quality of the food.
N. K. K.
We have been coming to this place for many years and whilst running my guesthouse I have sent several guests. All of which also came back with a positive association. The food is simply outstanding! Lovely atmosphere and staff. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. If in Edinburgh do not miss going to this place, you will not be disappointed. Luca in particular is extremely helpful and goes out of his way to make sure customers have the best experience.
e. l.
We were treated to a sumptuous pre ordered meal on our very first night in Edinburgh to this lovely restaurant. There were around 20 or more of us from the walking tour after which we were pleasantly accommodated with the lively staff. The servings were heavy and tastefully delicious so very filling indeed. I highly recommend this place.
P. L.
Had a lovely meal here on Saturday night with my partner and four friends. An amazing choice menu with everyone’s favourite Italian dishes, and a nice selection of Italian wines. The Restaurant Staff were wonderful and exceedingly helpful with their advice as to what dishes to choose.
S.
Fantastic service. Bar staff were absolutely outstanding and served my two daughters the most delicious ice cream.
J. S.
We had great service and it was a nice place, the food was good but quite expensive. I was a bit confused by the focaccia starter which was just a flat bread, not a focaccia at all
D. T.
They were able to accommodate us without reservations (2 adults, 1 toddler). The food was pretty good. We had one of the chicken dishes with tomatoes and olives which was good, and our son had the penne Bolognese which he enjoyed.
They were great with kids, a couple of the staff engaged him quite a bit and made a point to say good bye. While the food wouldn't necessarily draw me back, the atmosphere and service would.
D. S.
Great food and very good service. Definitely recommended!
P. J.
Food was amazing and staff were professional, attentive and welcoming
M. M.
Their half pasta and half pizza was a great way to try both. My husband and I shared and it was just enough. The staff is also great and despite the restaurant being busy they were attentive and fast. We got our food super fast!
M. W.
Service here is outstanding even by Edinburgh standards. Food is good enough to get you hooked and returning again and again.
Great flexible menu - won't break the bank and great thought for those with special dietary needs.
J. E.
Helpful, friendly staff with a great selection of food and wine. The sirloin steak was a personal favourite of mine.
S. W.
So delicious! They offer a fantastic selection of vegan & gluten free options. They'll make any pizza with vegan cheese for your lactose intolerant friends and offer both GF crust & pastas. Fantastic meal! Definitely, make a reservation.
D. V.
Really great food and the kitchen staff were able to accommodate to adjusting the dish for my taste!
E. T.
Great food served fast and hot.
Drinks where good and the decorations nice
We had the Diavolo pizza and pizza with pesto, potatoes, bacon and chicken. Both with crisp crust, tasty sauce and fresh quality ingredients.
Only Thing keeping it back being the acoustics, which made the place very loud when full.
L. K.
Will definitely be returning. Had the best garlic bread in my life as a starter. Main was a wonderful pizza, and my boyfriend really enjoyed his pasta. I highly recommend the mango margarita, but all their cocktails were delicious. Wonderful decor and really nice and polite staff. Well priced and will definitely be back and will recommend to any of my friends who are visitng edinburgh.
I. B.
Delicious food, good prices and friendly atmosphere 😊
N. E.
Very delicious food and even better service.
D. C.
Food and staff top notch well worth a visit
t. l.
Great value in January with 50% off food. My companion loved her pizza which was so large she took 1/3 home. My spaghetti carbonara was okay as was the profiteroles and coffee
B.
I love this restaurant. The food, staff, atmosphere, managers, all excellent.
We eat here every second or third weekend, we travel from Livingston with no hesitation. We are treated very well by Vittorias staff and managers. You will not get better food or hospitality anywhere in my opinion. The Mclaughlan family love Vittorias on the bridge. 🏴🇮🇹
L. B.
Went in for lunch which we really enjoyed! We ordered 2 pasta dishes with a creamy smoked haddock sauce & a hot smoked salmon, brocolli sauce. Both dishes were hot and tasty. Exceĺlent service with a good suggestion from the waiter about what wine to have.
C. P.
We came here for a quick bite, but ended up enjoying a marvellous Italian meal. I recommend the pasta with pistachio and the tagliatelle Vittoria. The desserts were also good! I had the limoncello mousse and a strong fantastic coffee.
The service was also outstanding, very friendly. We paid far less than we expected for three meals courses and wine.
Loved it!
s. m.
Food and service was excellent as you would expect from top class restaurant.
L. Z.
Excellent meal, all food are fresh and cooked perfectly. Just a little bit noise as so many people are there.
P. S.
A very busy restaurant, however the staff are exceptionally friendly and courteous. Furthermore the service is quick but at no point do you feel rushed, in fact we took over 90 minutes for our meal.
Their menu offers gluten free and fantastic vegetarian options the food is delicious and the gluten free pizzas are 12" which is quite unusual for gluten free bases.
Could not recommend more highly, but you must book in advance.
T. P.
The place is nice looking and the staff is very friendly. It's easy to find the place as it is very central. Food is good and tasty. We've been there for work night out and I can say that the service was really fast considering that they were cooking for 19 people. I would recommend to visit. The only criticism is that due to the place was full, it was quite noisy and struggled to hear each other at the table.
R. C.
Loved this place good food lovely staff nice atmosphere and they sung happy birthday to my boy nice we touch
M. M.
Have always loved this restaurant & it's one of my top picks during Festival season so I was pleasantly surprised to see they had had an interior makeover since my last visit. Same excellent service, delicious menu, welcoming staff and now topped off by the bright & light decor... Highly recommended
M. H.
Very busy. Booking is probably essential Fridays and Saturdays. Food was OK. Garlic bread was just slices of white bread drowned in olive oil. Couldn't touch it. Hot chocolate was warm at best. Service was fast. Pricey for mediocre food
R. S.
Family friendly post-lockdown Italian that saved our bacon when we realised our booking for a different restaurant had not been confirmed. We had two hungry tired kids after a long day's travelling and were preparing for meltdown when I remembered seeing this place on our way through and noting the gelato. They fitted us in, made us very welcome, served us quickly and by the end we were all feeling very much revived. The polpetti were so warming and delicious that I would have been happy with just those. Add a plate of fettuccine with scallops and two scoops of ice cream and I was done for. Kids' menu for £8.50 too!
A. P.
Excellent food quality, vegan & gluten free options and beautiful atmosphere. Service is also great and staff is very kind. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Edinburgh!
J. L.
Great food and service. Decent vegan menu including vegan cheese to add to your choice of pizza.
D. T.
Good Xmas menu. Great service
R. J.
Food was excellent and service as well.
m. l. w.
Lovely place fantastic food and service
Very busy but....do not walk away without visiting the bar 🍸🍹🍷
S. G.
Some Italians working there. Very interesting menu and wines. Nice bar. Kind of a party room downstairs. Bring some time as there is a wait during peak times. Great cocktails. We wanted to go there next day for food but ended elsewhere.
R. L.
Food is really good, staff were very helpful and friendly. Will visit again
J. N.
They serve good food, prepared quickly and very friendly staff. It is a relatively large restaurant. They have a lower floor with many tables. We went there as a party of 8 and they managed to find a table for us without booking, on Saturday 8 PM! We've tried pizza, calzone, and stakes. All was delicious.
S. C. (.
I cannot fault this place. Amazing food. Great process, amazing pina coladas and the service is 100% fabulous.
G. R.
Assortment of breads were great as an appetizer for dipping. Pizzas looked amazing though I didn't have any myself. Tiramisu is legit. No need for a dinner reservation if you're there around 5:30-6pm on a weeknight.
D. E.
Delicious authentic Italian food served by Italian staff. Lovely! 😋
R. D.
Always great food and great service. Restaurant is looking gorgeous since it has been refurbished. Food is reasonably priced considering the quality.
B. S.
Always great food, great service. My wife and I have been here several dozen times and they never disappoint. And when the occasion warrants, they handle large groups amazingly well. We descended on them with a pre-wedding dinner of more than 50 guests, and it was all everyone talked about!
A. D.
Fantastic as always- great food, excellent service and always a warm welcome. Best authentic Italian restaurant in Edinburgh.
E. S.
Wonderful restaurant! The service was great, lovely food, ice cream well loved. Only reason this gets 4 stars, is there was too much cheese on the margharita pizzas. Apart from that, stellar place for dinner! Seriously. Too much cheese. 😊
L. v. d. B.
We booked for 14 people and we were met with friendly and helpful staff. Pre-ordering the food meant we got the food promptly. The portions were very generous and the food was fantastic. Thanks for a lovely evening!
L. M.
Friendly welcome. Great service. Tasty food and a modest bill. Don't forget to leave room for the incredible ice cream. Will be back soon. Highly recommend
S. T.
A wonderful dining experience. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. First class cooking and an extensive menu. We look forward to our next visit.
J. K.
Coped ok with a large group even when busy. Pre ordering email system for groups was slick. Staff suitably authentic with Italian chat between them and can-do attitude to moving tables about and making us welcome.
No surprises in the menu with all the expected Italian standards, delivered in competent rather than exceptional style but with a large group that's all we needed and expected. A bit salty for my taste but pleasant enough.
N. P.
Lovely restaurant. We had lunch here recently inbetween visits to the national museum. We all really enjoyed our food. Prices were very reasonable and the kids menu was great too. We were seated downstairs which was nice as it was very busy upstairs.
A. C.
Great Italian restaurant with friendly staff. Had the spicy sausage pasta and it was an all too short period of bliss for my ever demanding tastebuds. Was in Edinburgh for 2 nights and went to their sister restaurant the second night to repeat the experience and it again was a taste sensation. They have gluten free / dairy free etc options so you won’t be limited by your intolerances ... they also have a loyalty card scheme which seems really generous because you’ll definitely come back anyway
L. B.
Great service and friendly staff
The pasta and pizza was fantastic
J. A.
Amazing service and beautiful food!!
F. B.
Food great, prices based on tourists, and a bit poor selection of beers. Crowded indeed, but atmosphere is friendly and it's not noisy. Overall a great place for dinner, you can even bring family here
R. R.
Excellent Italian restaurant in the heart of Edinburgh! The service was excellent and the staff friendly. The food was fantastic, from the pizza to the pasta. Kids were all begging to go back the next day!
C. S.
Very busy restaurant but exceptional food to match. Do book during the high season as difficult to get a table. Nice wine to match. A typical Italian restaurant with fresh pasta (can vouch for the Cannelloni which was delicious.)
A. R.
Amazing food and service
Price is acceptable as well not really expensive
B. M.
Great location though on the slightly pricey side. Well presented, clean toilet and fast if not a little brusque service. Food good though the Pesto pasta doesn't work with tomato sauce (see Martini in Bath for best Pesto pasta). Made a change to the usual massive chain Italian style restaurant which make up the bulk of the Edinburgh set.
j. d.
Best italian food ive eaten in the UK
T. S.
Nice Italian restaurant with a huge menu and nice environment. Always good for the passionate family arguments between the staff who all do their utmost to ensure you have a great meal. Been going here for years and would recommend.
P. G.
Interesting place. The furniture does not feel so warm, but the people are. Food is nice, but not as good as in Italy. (Been there done that) wine is expensive. But that is with all restaurants in Edinburgh.
Overall would I go back? YES I would !
j. s.
The service was good
The dessert was great
And the ice cream was good
M. G.
Amazing!
I'm from America and my group needed something good to each after visiting Edinburgh Castle. It was an amazing. The food was fantastic, service was great, and the drinks were top notch. Everyone had something different for lunch, different pastas and pizzas, and we even had dessert and everything was all delicious. If you need something good to eat at a reasonable price then go here. Best food of my entire trip.
J. M.
Very good food and priced well. Classic Italian food.
M. J.
Amazing food and at great prices! Service was top notch and seriously nothing to complain about. Would highly recommend
J. B.
the food was good. but the service wasnt great. they were loud and a bit condescending. I knew enough Italian to know he wasnt thrilled about waiting on the Americans. I had to stop him from leaving the table twice because we weren't finished ordering. the moment we said one thing he would say "wonderful" and try to leave.
P. C.
Best Italian food we had in a long time. Everything was perfect: starters, moulles, braised steak, risotto, the red wine and finally a superb tiramisu.
The waiters were nice and knowledgeable and the price was quite fair for the dish sizes and quality of the food.
C. H.
Met a friend here for lunch and we were both well impressed. Service was good and fast, so fast they cleared my chai before I was done drinking it!
Pasta was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. Though you'd expect nothing less from this family of Italian restaurants. This was my first visit to Vittoria and I wouldn't hesitate to return.
Prices are reasonable for centre of town and portions weren't too bad, though it was definitely a 2 course lunch. Think I would have left slightly hungry if I hadn't had dessert.
C. H.
Vottoria is fine for a general lunch out - reasonably priced food. Nothing at all special and no flair in the dishes. Its safe, easy and tasty if a little boring perhaps. I think it would be an easy option with kids and centrally located. They have deals on regularly though I would definitely consider the groups other restaurants to be much better.
H. T.
Fantastic food we all had a taste of each others meals & they were all very nice. Great atmoshere & staff very good. First time in the restaurant & i will return.
B.
Pizza and drinks were fine, but waitress was unfriendly and finally I had to wait 10 minutes until I asked for my change after having paid the bill. To me it looked like she would have tried to keep it all. Hard to think positive....
K. B.
We were in Edinburgh in Nov. and wound up eating here 2x in our 3 day visit. The food is outrageously good! I am still dreaming of their pizzas and I'm a Native New Yorker! I would go back to Edinburgh just to eat there again! Yum!
L. B.
I had a great meal in this restuarant. The waiters were really friendly and the food was delicious. We came back 2 days later and the experience was exactly the same.
I advise you to reserve a table before you go to the restaurant itself because it can be busy sometimes.
I can really recommend this restuarant.
A. A.
The staff here are always very friendly, welcoming and helpful, and the food is fantastic.
I've been here with colleagues, with family - including small children - and with friends. Very much recommended, although if you're not after an early lunch then you may be as well to book a table.
D. C.
Really lovely restaurant with friendly waiting staff. Quick service and most fo all the food variety and quality was superb and reasonably priced.
a. g.
The quality of the food is well worth the price! Staff are clearly educated and descriptive when talking about the food they serve. Clean bathrooms. Excellent hygiene. Highly recommend!
J. L.
Nice and gluten free food
D. O.
Really nice looking place. We had ice creams which were lovely. Sadly the ladies toilets were poor. No space to actually get into the cubicle and none of the locks worked!
T. R.
Fantastic food and very good service. We got a fantastic deal in February with 50% off food bill (so keep an eye out for offers), but quality was good enough that I would be happy to pay full price. Good decor, lots of tables (set over two floors).
L. M.
Great food and service! Recommend the pasta as it is freshly made with generous portions. Thanks again for making my partner's birthday a great one!
H. A.
Great place for scrumptious Italian food and very family friendly 😀 Went for my wife's birthday with the kids and the staff couldn't have done more for us. All around excellent!🍕🍝👍😀
M. P.
Excellent food and excellent polite service would definitely recommend.
i.
They offer gluten free pasta, which is why we stopped here. My mom and I had had a long few days of mucking about in the rain and we wanted to just sit down and eat. The host didn't greet us in English at first which kind of threw me off, then he switched to Spanish, then to English. Most of the servers had an Italian-sounding accent so they either fake it or import their workers for an air of authenticity. The only reason I bring this up is because we had a hard time communicating in the otherwise loud establishment. The tables are quite crowded and it was very loud. When we asked to split a starter, our server was put off by us, as evidenced by his having to ask us three times if we wanted water for the table and never bringing it by when we asked for it. He remembered our tea and Kopparberg, though, so there's that. When we asked to split a main, he charged us £2 less per person and gave us half portions. The food, including the panacotta, was very good, but service was a bit lacking, and we spent about £10 more than we had to because of the communication error so we didn't tip.
D. C.
Attentive staff, quick service. The food was mediocre, which was surprising because of the other reviews. The prices are too high for the quality of food. Perhaps we ordered the wrong things.
You can find better Italian food.
A. B.
Excellent calzone pizza. Place was very popular on a saturday night. We had to wait 15mins for our booked table to become available. Season ticket holders at Hearts and Hibernian get a discount.
H. W.
This restaurant styles itself as the best Italian restaurant in Edinburgh, and I reckon it comes pretty close. The menu is extensive (as are the portions) and the quality of the food is very good. Its location, on George IV Bridge, is central and it provides a welcome break to those in search of somewhere to eat which does not have impossible queues - the downstairs seating area seems to expand and expand. If only it were on the first floor, this area would tip the rating to 5 stars. I would recommend not missing the ice cream - this was a real highlight.
e. h.
Disappointing visit to this restaurant based on the service...dropped in with a few colleague's and found the service quite poor...waiters were a little dismissive and never returned our change from the bill...presumptuous considering the service was not worthy of any tip let alone 15% of the bill. We had the lunch menu the calamari starter was cold unsure if it was meant to be but the pizza on the other hand was lovely just a shame the service was disappointing.
L. O.
When my friend suggested Vittorias for dinner, I automatically went to their website to check out if they had a mailing list and they do. I joined this and got a discount email sent to me for 50% off main courses.
The restaurant was nice although when we were shown to our table, it was wedged Inbetween two other tables and I asked if we could have another table less crowded and we did get one which had a great view to the kitchen so we could see our food bring made.
It's nice to see Italian waiting staff and they were very polite and smiled. My problem was that they didn't know about the ingredients of their dishes. As I am vegetarian I don't eat Parmesan cheese as it has rennet in it (calves stomach lining) but the dishes labled with a "v" pretty much all had Parmesan in them. I ended up playing it safe with a pizza as they couldn't conform some ingredients. The same trouble came with desert and the ice cream had animal fat in it do I ended up with a liqueur coffee instead. Now my food was lovely but it seemed a great effort for pizza and a coffee!
My friend I was with had no complaints at all (but she eats anything)
I have given 4 stars as what I had was nice but the staff need to get a better knowledge of the ingredients

Food was great, atmosphere was nice, well priced, service was good (did take a while to be seated even though we booked a table and was only 10 minutes late). Better than most Italian restaurants in Edinburgh in my opinion from my experience. Would definitely recommend and go again.

We reserved a table for 25 persons and preordered from the menu. Took about 1 hour minutes to get the food served, and another hour waiting for the dessert. Ordered longdrinks for everyone - first drink delivered after more than one hour..

Very accommodating to two singers who were between rehearsal and performance and only wanted 1 pizza to share. Brilliant service. Told them we needed to be quick and they obliged xx

I left this review my second time here, and both times it was just fantastic!
Amazing food!! Both times I left not wanting to eat anything for the rest of the day because that would erase the taste of the food from my mouth!

Went with my boyfriend on a whim, they accommodated us despite not having a reservation. Friendly staff, meals were delicious and not too pricey either. Altogether a wonderful experience, we will definitely be back!

Nice Italian place in Edinburgh, the service was good and quick and taste was delicious. Have been here with a larger group for Christmas, did not enjoy the food then ,but certainly in a smaller group the food is delicious and mouth watering will definitely recommend

Great food and great service! Best service we have had in Scotland. We were traveling with children so we loved how quickly they sat us, took our order and got our food to us...

We had pre-order dinner. We were a group on 14 ladies. The service were excellent and the food very tasty snd portions were generous. We had a great time.

I would not call it native Italian place, but the kitchen is good and staff is friendly.
The service is fast even if the place is crowded

Been there twice.
The staff are all friendly and warmhearted, especially when you can speak a little bit Italian.
I am giving this restaurant only 3 stars, because the second time I went there, the food was not satisfactory. I ordered insalata caprese and a risotto. To my greatest shock, they were using rocket instead of basil in the caprese that day. I mean, it is okay to make occasional twist to gastronomic traditions, but surely not to something as classic as caprese. This even made me doubt if the food is authentic Italian food. And the risotto contained excessive water and was not properly creamy.
Other than these minor miscellanies, I am overall very satisfied. BTW, the gelato is very delicious.

Less one star because we were given a tiny table that hardly fit our food (2 plates) and no dipping sauce for my sweet potato fries. Otherwise the food, location, service and ambiance were great.

Went there with a large group. The starters and main course options were amazing. I was not a big fan of the dessert (sadly). Overall a nice place that accommodates large groups!
G. R.
Squeezed us in but food was incredible. Had the braised beef and mash and it just melted in my mouth. Would definitely recommend for anyone who wants a quality Italian meal.

Fantastic meal - amazing portions, fresh food and friendly staff. Even when busy the food came really quickly!

The waiting staff were attentive and very welcoming. Also, they serve affordable italian food.

Comprehensive Italian menu with some unique selections too. Good set menus, drink selection and atmosphere. A cross between traditional Italian restaurant and a TGI Fridays-esqe vibe. Good choice for lunch and evening meals, though I believe there's a brunch menu too; could be worth a try!

Great food. Not the best service. It was very busy when we visited though. Did came quickly but other orders were forgotten

Great Italian. Couldn’t complain at all about the food and good portions! Simeon looked after us and was very attentive, he was also able to provide recommendations of things to do around Edinburgh.

If you like eating in a lively and energetic atmosphere, this is your place. It's always buzzing with people, and the waiters are hilarious and very nice. The food is great as well, very Italian.

Staff were very accommodating we hadn't booked .Food was lovely very friendly atmosphere.

Decent, bordering on good food; although how hard is it to ruin a pizza?
Extortionate drinks prices (and we're from London!); There apparently is a wine list but it's not supplied even on request.
Staff disgustingly rude and arrogant. Really put a downer on an acceptable lunch.
M. S.
Lovely food and amazing staff. New decor and it looks amazing. Highly recommend

Excellent service from Marco and very tasty food. Highly recommended.

Very happy with our meal here. From the service to the quality of food. My parents celebrates their 30th anniversary here and we would be back tomorrow if we werent leaving Edinburgh. Gratzi!

Place was great and family friendly. Have multiple restaurants in the establishment so something for everyone. Quick walk from edinburgh castle so a great place to stop and grab a bite after walking up the hill to the castle.

The food was outstanding. The tagliatelle bolognese was excellent along with thebhalf and half plate of pizza and tagliatelle with Spicy sausage. Definitely a place to eat Italian in Edinburgh.

My wife and I got the 1/2 &1/2 pick a pasta and a pizza special. They serve 1/2 of everything on both plates. This is by far the best Italian food i ever had.
D. S.
Service great and food excellent
D. B.
Excellent food and excellent service totally recommend this place for fantastic pasta
J. K.
Decent enough food, but usually very busy, and nothing really to mark it out as unique. Been here a few times on work nights out, and they seem happy to accommodate large groups. Good, but not great.

One of the best if not the best Italian restaurants I've ever been to let alone in Edinburgh. If you are in the city go. The seafood is cooked to perfection, I could go on, just go yourself.
M. F.
Amazing food great atmosphere and lovely staff

One of the best meals we've had in Edinburgh. The pasta are on point, and the pizza is legit. Don't forget to save room for the gelato!
K. H.
Veronika was our server and was absolutely magnificent! It's our first wedding anniversary and she truly made dining at Vittoria a wonderful experience.
M. H.
Very busy. Booking is probably essential Fridays and Saturdays. Food was OK. Garlic bread was just slices of white bread drowned in olive oil. Couldn't touch it. Hot chocolate was warm at best. Service was fast. Pricey for mediocre food
G. R.
Squeezed us in but food was incredible. Had the braised beef and mash and it just melted in my mouth. Would definitely recommend for anyone who wants a quality Italian meal.

Fresh and modern Italian food. There is authentic and traditional carbonara spaghetti.
Bolognese meat balls are homemade with herbs and onion.
Waiters take care about customer. They are adorable.
We found peroni and moretti draft beer, classic.
Finally, Tiramisu is great.
I really enjoy my meals and I definitely recommend this place.
