Absolutely superb Italian restaurant, the best in Leeds/Bradford area. Great food from extensive menu. Sea food platter starter a revelation in particular. Great service from friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic atmosphere and attractive decor. In a good location. Highly recommended particularly for a special occasion. Will be back for our wedding anniversary.

Nice restaurant. Staff are very attentive. However, I found it difficult to find a vegetarian option on the menu as it was not labelled with the usual vegetarian / vegan sign. Desserts & Mocktails were nice, again no vegetarian label and we had to ask the staff to help us with our food choice. Tables were slightly close to other diners.

Visited for the first time last night after recommendations. Firstly, I am impressed by the interior decoration and atmosphere as it was very modern and had great use of mirrors to brighten up the room. Even though we were running late, the staff were very accommodating and welcoming. The food was mostly good. The sharing seafood starter was great, nicely seasoned and fried, however the scallops weren’t fresh enough as it was a bit chewy. The popular lobster pasta was great, very well seasoned to accommodate the lobster flavour, however it could do with more variety with it, like more veg or additional seafoods to break up the dish a bit, but overall great. Similarly, for the Thermidor, it was great, however, the mustard was a bit overpowering and it should come with a side to give some freshness to the heavy flavour dish. Overall, I’d recommend this place, but a heads up, it can get very loud on a weekend evening when it’s full.

Just one piece of feedback I did go into the disabled toilets and it did have all the staff coats and bags in was more like a storage room for staff! It did make me feel very awkward !! but they should really be a disabled toilet for any disabled customers that you have in your restaurant! But…. Beautiful fresh proper Italian food made by real Italians!! Clean restaurant. customer service excellent and I celebrate my best friends birthday and we didn’t have to say anything they give her a slice of cake and sang happy birthday to her!!! 9/10. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Very delicious pizza.it was big.We love it. Desserts were excellent.Everytging was top noch, except the chairs are making incredible noise which was very annoying.Change the floor.It was not good for classy restaurant .The boss was going around in side the restaurant like a godfather :))) They were fully booked but, They managed to find us a table for a couple of hours which was enough for us.Because we had to catch a train.

Not the best experience for a lunch really. Seated 20 mins before drink order was taken and over 1 hour before food arrived. Orders were mixed up, we ordered rare fillet steak and medium ribeye and they came out medium fillet and rare ribeye. Waitress gave 2 people the wrong pizzas and we had to hunt down a member of staff for a 2nd round of drinks and again to ask for the bill. Considering its an fairly expensive lunch I would have expected better service.

As you can see we ordered a lot for 3 people. They got our order wrong , we asked for veal milanese and they got us chicken instead. They gave us dessert to compensate. The truffle pizza was amazing . The lobster was overcooked an chewy . The coffee was unfortunately not drinkable- was looking forward to proper Italian coffee.

Simply the best restaurant in Leeds. My 6th visit and arguably my best yet, impeccable service, incredible Italian food and wine. My bottle of Barolo was divine and those nebbiolo grapes were just beautiful bursting with Flavour and excptionally dry. My carbonara was the best yet as were the French Martinis. Thank you for a great service. Can't wait to come back

Negatives: The main dish portion sizes were small and there was practically no lobster in my lobster dishes (considering how expensive the meal was as well). The chocolate and pistachio dessert were very sickly and not good flavour.

We heard about this resteraunt from friends, so we decided to try it. Glad we did as the food is excellant. The decor is really upmarket as is the friendly service. There are plenty of choices on the menu and an extensive wine list to choose from. The food is superbly cooked and different from your average Italian resteraunt. Prices are slightly higher than you would expect, but you get what you pay for. There is no stand alone carpark and only limited street parking, so you may have to park in one of the city carparks and walk from there. Toilets are clean. My only criticism is that when we use our local Italian resteraunts we always get a breadroll or free garlic bread without asking, it's just something they do and makes you appreciate it a bit more, and some even throw in a free lemoncella at the end of the meal as a thank you for using their resteraunt.It's a nice friendly touch. Here theres nothing, so if you need something extra to mop up your sauce you pay for it.

We visited the restaurant last night as a group of 4. Our arrival was a little awkward as the restaurant couldn't find our reservation. We were seated regardless of this which we were grateful of. It was later explained they had mistakenly put our reservation down for the following evening. The experience quickly went downhill from here. The service was the worst I have experienced in many years of dining in Leeds and many other cities globally for that matter. The last experience with San Carlo in Leeds was some years ago however we did dine at the Cheshire San Carlo back in Feb 2020 and had a wonderful service experience. The food was delicious and we couldn't fault this but the service, or lack of, just ruined out experience. We felt like we were just abandoned for the night, constantly having to catch someone's attention to order drinks and additions to the meal. Genuinely,the only time we were asked if we would like anything was at the point of asking for the bill. It was especially disappointing because we had invited our good friends to Leeds for an evening out and the service, although obviously didn't ruin the night, was just an absolute pain. As a result, I explained to the waiter we didn't want to pay the service charge on the bill, which was £23.50 (10%) but at that stage they didn't even seem to care why! I would never eat in this restaurant again, there is no excuse for terrible service. Leeds is absolutely busting at the seams with amazing restaurants. My advise would be to go elsewhere! Very displeased and disappointed

I absolutely love this restaurant. My recent lunchtime visit was my first, with a bunch of old friends I had not seen for.... years! The staff were so welcoming; they made us feel as though we were regulars they have known for a long time. They actually made a proper recommendation of wine, not just waving the list in front of us. The food was excellent, I particularly enjoyed the Whitebait starter. Not having seen each other for so long, we had a lot to talk about and eventually we were the only people left in the restaurant. However, the staff gave no indication of wanting us to hurry up. They were really friendly and were happy to take photos for us. One of our group even showed the young waiter a photo of us together many years ago and invited him to guess who was who now! He handled this with a level of diplomacy well above his years! I can't wait to go back.

Visited San Carlo 7yrs ago was so so good. Unfortunately on this occasion and I do appreciate the difficult times we are in found it to be average. Starter of mussels good but main was overcooked. Never asked how the food was. Drinks just blonked on edge of table. When main taken away never asked if we would like to see desert menu or coffees. Waited 10mins but no one came so asked for bil and left.

This is a nice restaurant and setting, with nice decor, well laid out tables and cloth napkins. The staff are very attentive with excellent service. The menu is very extensive with a large fish/seafood selection. I had a pasta dish which was okay, but felt the pasta could have been cooked a little bit more. The starter was a bit greasy as well.

Exceptional service start to finish. Salvatore (our waiter) couldn't of done a better job. Ensured everything was checked prior to being served due to my allergies. We ordered from here using Deliveroo, to celebrate something. The menu has lots of good vegetarian options (and plenty of fish & seafood for my husband). It arrived on time and well packaged. The food was flipping delicious! You can clearly tell it was restaurant quality (which isn't always easy done as a takeaway). I tried the truffle ravioli, which was beautiful - so creamy, rich & tasty. Order it! The burrata was lovely (the sunblushed tomatoes, yum). My husband really enjoyed his crab & lobster ravioli, saltimbocca (his fave he tried) & an antipasti selection. We will definitely be coming here again!

As we have visited some restaurant of this chain already, we know that San Carlo stands for quality. This proved again so in Leeds. We were warmly greeted and shown to a nice table. While sipping a prosecco we decided on what to eat - there is a wide choice. Finally decided on smoked salmon, seafood pasta and desert (creme brulee for me, chocolate cake for my sister). Everything we got was delicious. And the wine was of fine quality too. I can certainly recommend this restaurant.

Went here for a catch-up with friends over lunch. Great food, between us we ordered lasagne and a selection of pasta dishes. However, service was mediocre. They forgot our coffees and teas towards the end. Nice ambience and decor was befitting.

Fantastic, top marks all around. This is the proper upper standard Italian dining venue. Happy, helpful, respectful staff how treat you well and will serve you well. As soon as I had finished my drink they knew when to ask for another, they are very good at spotting what your table needs from cutlery to even a napkin. The food is sensational, the garlic bread with cheese is the best I've ever sampled anywhere in the world, the pizzas are absolutely huge thin based ones rich in taste. I recently moved on to their pasta and their Spaghetti was bursting with garlic, tomato flavours, it was really something. I have noticed a few people in their of high position in regard dining in there too, they manage to attract top people for a fantastic night. It is quite expensive but it's a venue you expect to be reasonably dressed for if dining in the evening and you get what you pay for. The staff seemed to have top training and really make you feel valued during the service and how they say goodbye as you leave the restaurant.

Eaten here a few times, the food is good, but maybe due to our latest visit being a last minute decision and possibly not being "dressed for the occasion" I don't think we were listened to. My Wife and I visited San Carlo to celebrate the birth of our baby girl. Over all the food and attentiveness of the staff was good. However customer care and house keeping were MASSIVELY inadequate. The gents facilities were in a poor state of cleanliness with urine on the floors and most disturbingly human excrement in the sink basin !!! After complaining to the host I was advised some one would come and see me after 20 minutes we left the venue having paid our £120 bill. We have since sent 4 emails and made 2 phone calls and had absolutely no response or acknowledgement of any kind. Despite promises of Roberto the general manager going to contact us. Make up your own minds but I would NEVER recommend this place.
