Absolutely hands down the best pizza around, first visited over 4 years ago when the restaurant was much smaller and incredibly difficult to get booked in, now the place has over double the seating area and due to its popularity and quality it's still difficult to get booked in! However it's great to see that serving all the extra seats hasn't put a damper on quality! Will look forward to our next visit but hopefully not 4 years again!

Everything was excellent. We had a large party of mostly American visitors and the staff was very accommodating. We had the meatballs and marinated olive starters, caprese salad and goat cheese, fig, and rocket salad, calzone, gnocchi, and a large variety of pizzas.

I've waited awhile to try this place and I was so happy I finally got the chance. The food was amazing, we tried the 20' half and half pizza and it was huge but delicious. We ended up taking some home as there was too much. My nephew tried the carbonara which was also very tasty. It was super busy the night I was there but the staff were great at keeping our drinks flowing. Highly recommend!

Booked this venue for my wife's birthday and ordered a shared antipasti starter and main meal. The food and drink was of a high standard and the staff were both friendly and helpful. The only downside to our visit was that I had to ask for the complimentary bottle of water that i saw being given to other guests on their arrival. Also, i was asked if my wife would like a small birthday surprise treat at the end of the meal, which I happily agreed to.... Unbeknown to me, the cost of the surprise desert was added to our final bill, which i thought was rather naughty and left a slight downer on what was otherwise a lovely evening. Having said that, both my wife and I would happily go there again.

Have loved and been visiting this place regularly ever since it opened, sometimes multiple times in a week. I have been twice since the management changed and have to point out some issues which I hope they will take on board and try to fix, as it would be a shame to lose such a gem of a restaurant. I’ve already heard of several people I know who will now no longer go. First off, they are understaffed. The restaurant is now bigger than before, but operating with the same amount of waiting staff. They were literally running around like headless chickens, and in the process made a lot of mistakes with orders and attention to detail. One of the waitresses could not pronounce any of the Italian words on the menu, it would take only 5-10 minutes to sit down and learn correct pronunciation, not a big deal. She had a rather sour face for someone working front of house, appearing unhappy and not wanting to be there - a smile and bit of effort into learning the menu costs nothing. Secondly, on every occasion I’ve tried no one answers the phone. I tried to book online where the system stated there were no tables available, no one would answer the phone for me to query this, but when driving passed to go to the Italian down the road we noticed empty tables- went in and got seated no problem. The tables did not fill up for quite some time, you will lose a lot of business if you do not fix the online booking system or at least make a bigger effort to answer your calls. The menu is the same, and although I feel the portion sizes have slightly diminished - the pizza is still as good. The chicken in the risotto was reheated and a bit dry, not the same as before. Because they were so busy running round looking panicked , no one came to ask how everything was. After not listening correctly and getting part that main wrong, the solution by the waiter was to remove the service charge. With the service charge being optional anyway, and with the lack of service compared to what we are used to from this place, it would not of been paid anyway, I feel this was a sneaky trick which we didn’t fall for. Trying to cut corners and cheapen the deal, it never felt that way before. All in all, I will come back but I hope for your sake these critiques are taken constructively and you seek to be better.

Having a dinner there on Saturday evening was a great experience: cosy place, nice people, and delicious food. The quantity-quality-price relationship was quite decent and balanced. Some of the best Italian food I've had outside of Italy. This place is great and well worth trying out. Pizzas are phenomenal and great value for money. Worth reserving a table in advance if you're visiting at peak times as it does get full.

This is the best wood fired pizza! I eat here quite regular and I am never disappointed, it is consistently good. The service is always top class. They also do takeaway too. Best pizza in the Leeds area by far 😊 Highly recommended

Pizza was amazing along with the garlic dip definitely worth a drive from Sheffield. Also very well accommodated we were expecting to take away and eat it in the car but was offered a table outside, luckily it wasn't raining for once. Starters were great and desert was delicious. Some of the best pate I've had. Sadly the main was a bit too salty. The calamari in the dish also had the texture and taste of calamari you get in a antipasti from the supermarket. I've never had fresh calamari with that kind of texture. Also the service was pretty hit and miss. We had a young lady serving us who I'm guessing is the owners daughter. Literally hovering over tables to take people plates before they finished and when they were paying the bill. The other female waitress was great though.

My family took me to Tarrotia II Forno as part of my 60th Birthday celebrations. We had a wonderful time, the food and service were brilliant and the restaurant was very well designed and homeley, we can't wait to go again soon.

Booked here for my mum's birthday. Party of 9 adults, a child, a toddler and a baby. Though the restaurant isn't really set out to cater for such a large group the owner and the staff were very accommodating. We had a 2 hour seating, so to speed things along we we ordered prior to arriving. We pretty much all had the 20" pizzas to share. Couldn't pick fault, even my 90 year old grandma didn't have anything bad to say.

Gorgeous food as always and brilliant social distancing measures in place, we went into the restaurant and booked a time slot for a meal, felt very safe and comfortable with screens around each table and temperatures taken when you enter the restaurant. Went for lunch today with a friend, we both had pasta dishes which were very nice from the main menu. There was a lunch menu but a bit disappointed that the only choices were different kinds of pizza, although pizzas seem to be this restaurant's speciality so maybe that is why. The waiting staff were excellent, a very attentive young waiter, couldn't be more hospitable and helpful. Will definitely go back in the evening and try the pizzas next time

Been wanting to come here since valentine's day this year, but our booking got cancelled due to covid. Came here for a date night with my girlfriend. I booked a table online prior to my visit. When we arrived they took our temperature and showed us to our covid safe booth. They gave us time to choose our drinks and brought them swiftly, I ordered a pint of coke and my girlfriend, a water. The water arrived with 2 glasses and a bottle so that we could refill. I ordered the salmon linguine and my girlfriend ordered a mozzarella pizza, we shared the garlic dough ball starter. The food was heavenly, the garlic dough balls were so soft and we were given a side of sour cream, they were very moorish. About 10 minutes after we finished our starter, our food arrived, it smelt amazing. The salmon linguine was served beautifully with and I was offered cheese and pepper as a topper. My girlfriends pizza looked amazing, we were sat in the middle of the restaurant with perfect view of the pizza oven so we could see it going into the stone baked oven. It was authentic Italian, the cheese on the pizza pulled and tasted delicious. A small pizza is 12 inches and is totally worth the money. She couldn't finish the pizza, but we were given a takeaway box so that we could finish it at home. My linguine was to die for, they were not stingy with the salmon, you could see it all throughout the meal and it was succulent. The tomatoes in the dish were a nice change to the taste, zingy, refreshing but not overpowering. It came with a side of lemon so that you could apply if desired. Overall, I could not fault the service and the price was not bad either, I will definitely be coming back again, I just wish I came sooner.

Had takeaway pizzas from here (I cannot comment on other dishes I only had the pizza). They were traditional handmade baked in a proper pizza oven, however in my opinion they were pleasant but not amazing. This is a great place to meet up with friends, very friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. We booked for 7pm but only had the table until 8 30pm then it was booked again for another party of 6. The food was good but my pollo penne was missing a vital ingredient, the chicken! It was tasty though if a little lacking! They offered to bring the missing chicken but we were nearly finished by then, I expected them to reduce the bill and they did, they also removed the 10% service charge which is put on automatically. It has not put me off and I will try it again. The pizzas are very tasty.

The pizzas are amazing but for the past month on a Saturday we can not get through on their phone to order a takeaway. Today we started ringing at 2.30 onwards but the line was constantly busy. Eventually I did get through but nobody spoke to me, I could here everything going on, talking, card machine but nobody answered to take my order. I'm very disappointed by their attitude at the moment and will keep trying but as regular Saturday night fans I'm getting more and more disgruntled

This is an excellent meal out. We went in and had a lovely reasonably priced bottle of malbec. The service was good but a little nervy as I think some of the guys serving might have been new. The starters were the mushrooms and bruchetta and both we good. Mains we had a pizza and calzone which were great although maybe too much salad and olives. I definitely would not have a starter next time as the portions are big but there certainly will be a next time. The food was great and service prompt but could do with a little more of a personal service. Bang in the middle of 4 and 5.

We managed to get a table!! Friendly welcome and delicious food . The mussels were some of the nicest , juiciest and flavoursome I’ve ever tasted in delicious creamy garlicky sauce. If I’m being picky I think they ran out of fresh anchovies and used ones marinated in vinegar on my Napoli pizza which didn’t quite have the same joyous flavour as usual and my husband’s lobster ravioli was a tad too al dente but overall an excellent evening with great food and we would definitely return

Only a small restaurant but very cosy and serves wonderful Italian food. Our family has never had better pizza and pasta anywhere else in the UK; big sharing pizzas are amazing. The ice cream is superb too (both flavour and texture) - I believe it's imported from Italy; I've never had better. The staff here are lovely, good with children and watching the pizza oven in operation is fun. This restaurant is incredibly popular so make sure you book in advance if possible.

This is the best Pizza place in Leeds. The pizza bread is soft and fluffy, MASSIVE size pizza as well. Staff are lovely. You will need to book prior, as it can get very busy. Also, this place is small inside, so if you struggle with tight spaces, just be aware. They do take out as well. Really worth the visit.

We went this week after numerous visits previously and the food was of course as brilliant as always. The Covid measures put in place have been the safest and best presented I have seen. Personally I was very appreciative of the extra care that was given to ensure people’s safety and welcomed the screens and the temperature checks that were done very politely and discreetly. We have been going to IL Forno since it first opened and can honestly say they make the best pizza and pasta in Leeds. The food, service and friendliness is amazing and we are always made to feel very welcome by the great Managers. Oh my wow! This place was amazing! Italian is my favourite kind of food and this is my favourite kind of Italian. The menu is great! I don't usually get to have all my favourite toppings each time I get pizza but we orders a 20" half Vesuvius which had Italian meats, mushrooms and olives and then half a Parma I think it was, which had figs, really fresh artichokes, goats cheese and more Italian meat. The most delicious italian food! The best quality ingredients and generous portion sizes make it my first choice every time. My favourite dish has to be penne pollo, however 20" pizza with half and half toppings of capricossa and chicken pesto always goes down a treat! Really delicious food and generous portions. The staff are attentive. This is a genuine Italian experience - very much like eating in Italy with tables close together and the emphasis on good food rather than decor - although the decor is fine. Puddings were perhaps not to my taste. Starter and main were delicious. The beautiful wood fired pizza oven is also a draw. Trattoria Il Forno is very popular so you'll need to book.

Il forgot do the most incredible food. All is fantastic bu I especially I recommend the ribs, the mushroom starter, the parma pizza, the gnocchi and the carne pizza. The staff are incredibly helpful and can substitute alot of the items if you ask. The manager I think he's called rocco makes me a dish that is no longer on the menu everytime I go and that for me is an incredible service. Its my favourite restaurant and they even do take away.

We booked a table for 4 adults and 2 children. The restaurant had only prepared a table big enough for 4 adults in error and with no apology simply added 2 chairs and left us very cramped. As soon as we walked in, the owner was incredibly welcoming, guided us to our seats and presented us with their menu with full of delicious Italian choices and the food was exceptionally amazing!! Trattoria Il Forno is a wonderful proper (proper) pizza oven restaurant, the pizzas are slightly thicker than some traditional Italian style pizzas but this is so you can enjoy the beautiful dough they use. Lots of variety on the menu not just ‘pepperoni...’ pizzas are very large, best option is to share a half/half 20” pizza and split it. Only missed out on full 5/5 rating for being very loud when it’s busy (at least it’s not quiet and boring) and it’s on the pricier side of ‘pay for what you get’. Wonderful quality, delicious pizza and independent!

You may need to book in advance for the restaurant as it's generally extremely busy lunchtimes and evenings. Only downside is calling can be difficult as it's so busy and loud they can't always answer. Thoroughly recommended though. It's high quality food.
