Absolutely stunning. Staff were great, we were a large table and they were on top of everything. Glasses always filled and food was delicious and served quickly for fresh food. Would highly recommend and definitely going to visit again.

I was there last night- it was absolutely fantastic. As soon as you walk in the smell of the food is divine, it makes you want to order everything! They knew who we were from our phone all booking before we even said our name! The food is truly delicious- I’m genuinely still thinking about it. I never usually have desert out but the tiramisu was brilliant- very creamy and all flavours balanced. I will absolutely be going back and taking all friends/family with me.

It's a rare restaurant which will give you that feeling of welcome, superb freshly cooked food, a wonderful ambience and owners who are real characters. OGGI Simply Italian is one of those. It's a great independent restaurant on London Road and we had an excellent time there. What can I say about Rino? He's a great guy! Very attentive, warm and friendly. Plus the added bonus of hearing a couple of Elvis numbers from him! All in all, a lovely experience and one we will certainly want to repeat.

Solid 4.5 stars. We went here for my birthday. The food was great and I would go as far to say its the best Italian I have had in Leicester so far. The Chefs Monkfish special was outstanding and one of the best I have ever had. We will defo be going back in the future. I would have given 5 stars however, we felt a little rushed when ordering as we came in, sat down and were quite quickly asked by two waiters, separately, what we would like, this is just my preference as i like to take my time, otherwise it was outstanding. The Italian chaps were lovely too.

I am a bit disappointed with this place to be honest. People told me this place was amazing but maybe my partner and I been very unlucky but the 2 starters and 2 mains we have ordered were not great at all, to be fair we weren't impressed at all.

Wow. One of, if not the top, Italian restaurant in Leicester. Let’s start with the decor. Elegant and timeless. Very pristine, making you feel like you are in a top quality restaurant. The service was fantastic. All the staff were friendly and genuine, throwing in the odd Italian word here and there (whether or not they actually were Italian) making it jovial and relaxed. Now for the food. Starters, chilli and garlic prawns, deep fried mozzarella, bruschetta with tomato and balsamic vinegar. The prawns definitely stole the show. They are fantastic. The other two, well deep fried cheese, it is what it is; and the bruschetta was soft not crunchy so became soggy under the tomatoes and co. For main, we had the fettuccine & Pappardelle pasta which were both delicious. The best pasta we’ve had in a long time. The homemade tiramisu to finish off was gorgeous. All swilled down with a bottle of Chardonnay. Dress code smart casual. Will definitely be returning here in the near future.

Been to Oggi this month and honestly can't see the hype that everyone talks about, had the scallops has a starter, they were nice and flavourful but what let me down was the runny sauce and only 10 tiny slices of bread to split with 5 other people, my main was the tagliatelle with beef, tha pastas was more raw than Al dente and the beef... The beef was tough, not pink not medium rare, just well done, it looked like cardboard, the best part was dessert, had the tiramisu, was really nice and tasty but not enough for £6.25, the slice was tiny, 2 mouthfuls and it was gone overall 3/5 for me.

Lovely atmosphere with a characteristically exuberant host. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. For the vegan options you are somewhat limited to a couple of bruchetta and two simple pasta dishes, but I can say the arrabiata was excellent. My omnivorous friends spoke highly of the meat options and tiramisu desert, though the sorbet wasn't anything to write home about.

Came on a busy Saturday with my friend and was pleasantly surprised by the cosy and familiar atmosphere. The restaurant is cheerful and the staff is professional and friendly. Amazing food, we got Scallops and Gamberoni as our starters, Spaghetti Oggi and Spaghetti with Clams (their limited time special) as mains. We finished it off with an expresso and grappa. Fair prices, all in all a very positive experience.

First time at Oggi and we weren't disappointed with the food. I have read a few reviews about Oggi so I was really looking forward to eating there. The table was booked for 7:30 and after a little wait and slight confusion with the booking we were shown to our table. I'm not too sure if this was supposed to be a decent table position, or not, as we were in an alcove and i felt a little like Harry Potter! (I would normally have asked to move but by the time I'd realised the other 2's were full and it's not always evident at first). Oggi's is quite bright and vibrant, very noisy/bustling when it gets into full swing, it's not the largest of places, non of these points are negative, all good!!

The guy on the bar was spot on but having to listen to staff chatter moaning about taking phone bookings for tables and how customers are awkward isn't good. I understand relaxed, but you must still be attentive, we sat without menus or drinks or food on the table for 25 minutes without being asked by staff, we had to ask twice for dessert menus, despite being on a table closest to bar and kitchen. Disapointed, considering the price.

Several years of stunning food and drinks can rarely be bettered for Italian cuisine in the Midlands. Whether it's meat, fish or vegetarian you crave there's little doubt you'll be fully satisfied. Wine and drink choices are manifold, while front of house staff bring to the diner a professional and friendly approach. Special occasion dining certainly and to be recommended to anyone within spitting distance of Leicester.
