Is like eating in a Nona Italian house, excellent place! The food was very well cooked and the Salsa, Lasagna, and Risotto where superb. The service was great and the place was very welcoming. The location is good and easy to find. I very much recommend this restaurant.

It was a difficult decision between 3 and 4 stars. The restaurant staff were polite and kind, if not a little pushy about wine but the reason for the 3 star was in the food. We had a pancetta based pasta and an anchovy based pasta. There was far too much meat/filler in the pasta. They were very appealing at first, but the large amounts of meat (being so strong in flavour and salt etc) quickly became too much. As well as this we bought garlic bread and it was unfortunately quite chewy and bland. The food was quite nice, but it wasn't balanced very well. The reason given for the large amounts of filler was "large portions". Large portions are fabulous but unbalanced proportions can ruin a meal. I do not understand this either because less meat would have made a more pleasant dish overall and cost less to produce for the restaurant. All in all, I would be hard pressed to go here again.

Met some friends at the restaurant and decided to go on Tuesday evening when the Eat Out to Help Out scheme was running. The food was excellent; we shared several starters between 6 of us - the photos below are what I had for Main and Dessert - both absolutely delicious and in true Italian-style! A very substantial Calzone (Blue Cheese, Tomato and Peppers) and a small Affogato (shot of espresso and ice cream). Hoping to go back again sometime. I went back again on a Sunday evening in August. I ordered the Penne al pomodoro with grated parmesan cheese, and basil. As I felt like the cheapest dish. Very delicious indeed.

Had booked in advance for post marathon evening meal and I had to change the booking 4 times! They were great and were happy to help. My family and I visited London and decided to eat at a italian restaurant on our first night there. The Colosseo had great food and friendly staff. It had low lighting that created the perfect ambiance for an evening meal. We ordered the tasty Margarita pizza and Pasta Carbonara. Our waiter was attentive and was quick to respond to our requests.

Won't lie, it's not much to look at and probably a place I would normally have walked past, but oh my word it was gorgeous. Came for early dinner on Saturday and the food was beautiful. An Italian canteen with wide variety of dishes. Restaurant staff are lovely and were flexible 'like accepting doing some amendments to your order.' Also you would get your meal in 10 to 20 mins depending on your order. A luxurious place with very nice warm decorations and antiques. will amend my review after tasting its food. Ok, down to 3 stars as the quality of lasagna wasn't good. Although has a good tasty minced beaf meat but its pasta layers appeared not fresh 'as if heated after being stored, just a description as I am not in a position to judge its preparation'. I am faraway from Ramsi but I have got the impression of having a fancy looking restaurant with super nice staff but with a below standards kitchen, not to mention there is only one men toilet downstairs was dirty and with a previous customer has written nasty things against tourists' . The Lasagna was disliked by three of us, Calamari was adored by another, Spaghetti and pizza were good according to another two among us. Conclusion, unless improvement to be made to its kitchen and downstairs service, would advice sticking to its pizza and other non complicated meals. I wish this restaurant all the best as may be as a start and will be much better if they can accept their costumers' opinions.

We came to Colosseo for our first dinner in London and we were not disappointed. The food is amazing, it is so delicious. You have to go. It is affordable and the staff are so nice and helpful. I ordered the Ravioli and I wish I had a big bowl full it was so good!! Plus it’s perfect walking distance from our hotel.

Arrived late evening on a Sunday night. Very busy restaurant and waited a few minutes to be seated. Waiter explained it was a 30 minute wait for food as they were so busy. Within ten minutes my food and drink arrived. I had the penne with Italian sausage and broccoli in chilli and garlic along with an Aperol spritz. The pasta was delicious and authentic Italian. The spritz was amazing just like in Venice. I would recommend this place.

This little restaurant is a gem. It has a pleasant atmosphere, where background music doesnt prevent you from hearing what your dining companion is saying. Upon arrival, the atmosphere here is what you would expect from most Italian restaurants. The vibe was a tad cheesy for my liking and the general ambience, while staying true to authentic Italian, just made the meal feel more overpriced than it perhaps should have been. The service was exceptional and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was stellar, but I would be remised, however, if I didn't take into account the lack of sauce on the dish I ordered. This being said, this does not reflect the review, but more so my poor choice of menu selection as I did not double check if it came with any sauces. It is possible I will return to try something on the menu more up my suited to my tastes to ensure a more delightful experience and, in turn, a possibly improved rating if I feel like I may have overlooked some qualities of this quaint little restraurant. To summarise, I did not necessarily have a 'bad' experience. I though roughly enjoyed it, however, as an avid Italian lover there are a plethora of things that could be tweaked. Otherwise, a very nice restaurant!

That was acceptable. The food was good but nothing special. All the guests seemed to enjoy their food from pasta-based, to pizza-based, meals. It's not too expensive for a London-based restaurant. It was very busy that evening, so we were put in a corner by the fire exit and that was a shame, we could barely move and didn't have a view of the restaurant.

Found this place on our first night in London and it was good. We were seated right away and had a wonderful waiter. Garlic bread was great, my kids split spaghetti and meat sauce and they said it was great. I had the risotto and it was good but could have used more flavor. Desserts were awesome!

Visiting London for the weekend and looking for an early evening meal venue. Really pleased with this one. No reservation needed for eating at around six o'clock on a Saturday in the school holidays. Food was excellent, fresh and fast. Service could not have been any better, felt very welcome as a first time customer. Gluten free option mentioned on the menu. Disabled access would be difficult as a couple of steps to climb and an average sized entry door. I really enjoyed eating here. Give an independent, genuine Italian restaurant a go, you will not be disappointed.

The experience started out well enough, but then our waitress must have lost something because she was searching the floor for a bit and then completely disappeared. After that we were waited on by 3 different people cause a lot of chaos with our ordering. Our food came out and it was great, but when we tried to order dessert we placed our order....waited for 15 minutes and still no dessert. We asked about it and the order was never put in. So we told them no thank you and asked for the bill since we were needing to be somewhere. We had also asked for split checks and that didnt happen either. The manager was nice enough to cover our drinks for the dessert fiasco. But he had also told the waiter to apologize to us as we were leaving and instead he said "sorry, once you get to doing 3 or 4 things you forget stuff". I didn't feel that was appropriate so we just left after paying. Food is good, but try to go when it's not busy I guess.

Brilliant Italian restaurant situated in central London. Not too expensive, food is good (if you like Italian) and although there aren't many windows the place is still very cosy. Waiters are excellent as well, they speak Italian, French, Spanish and English. Menu is fine and restaurant's Chef is a great cook who knows his way around the kitchen. Overall, it is a nice place to enjoy Italian food with family and friends. Truly recommend this restaurant.

Pizza was very good. The waiters were busy but no one came over to check over me during my dinner. The waiter who was looking after me rushed to clear my table when I was still chewing my last bit, and then dropped me the dessert menu. I accepted it, hoping to get an amaretto, but my waiter just forgot about me after that and started polishing the cutlery or something like that. The young lady in charge had to step in when she realized I waited already for a while, so instead I just asked for the bill and went away.

It is located in Victoria Street and has a non descriptor understated outside. Quite easy to walk past and not notice. Once inside it opens up with the sitting area. It can accommodate larger parties (ours was 10). It is Italian food and very good food at that. The service is quick and both helpful and friendly. They don't rush you and is quite comfortable and the food and drinks flow. The toilets are down stairs as is the kitchen, so if you need flat access bear this in mind. Highly recommended and don't be put off by the understated outside.

There is not a lot of dinner choices near the St Ermin's Hotel where we were staying however the Colosseo restaurant turned out to be a very good value, fast service and excellent food. Often Italian restaurants charge a ridiculous amount for pasta, however both of the pasta dishes we had were full of meat and seafood etc. and tasted excellent. They have several choices of wine by the glass at very reasonable prices and service was also very good and attentive... although the waitstaff could be a little more interested in their clients as they were not very personable or interested in us (not rude or bad... just a bit cold) which is why I gave them 4 stars.

A group of us visited London in May and went to a play. Afterward, none of the pubs were open so we kept walking until we found the Colosseo. They were closing but graciously stayed open and served us the best meal we had in London. It was delicious and the service was superb. I would give this place 10 stars if I could. It was excellent.

Wonderful place to eat. They do a calzone with half a pizza attached- need I say more? Reason enough to visit, defo worth a try. Quality food, nice atmosphere. Will definitely dine there again. Service was great too, friendly and attentive staff.

I have tried to write a review on the Colosseo restaurant on TripAdvisor but cannot locate it. So I am pleased to say what I have to say here. We were in London for the Hyde Park Barbra Streisand concert and so sought out somewhere to eat. We were very lucky to have happened upon the Colleseo restaurant which is very nice Italian restaurant. We were quickly seated and attended to by a lovely Italian waitress and ordered our food. It was nice food and drink and a very delicious liquor coffee to complete the whole meal. Very nice very good quality and a very nice atmosphere. Pleased to have found it. Bravo Colesseo.

I've been here a few times and am prompted to write this review because of the friendliness of Vincenzo, one of the chefs. He gave my son an off-the-cuff lesson in making pizzas - even giving him a gown and chef's hat. A wonderful experience for my son. The food is excellent - I had seafood spaghetti, a couple of glasses of house wine and a cheesecake, then a double espresso - just a light lunch!

Frankly, I wish I could give Colosseo a bonus Star. The staff greeted us like family. The chef or owner engaged with a host of customers. The staff in the back you could hear singing to the Christmas Caroles that they likes, and they felt comfortable to do so. The service was relaxed yet prompt. The food would absolutely outstanding. Did I say outstanding? What is better than that? wrapped up with a cappuccino and tiramisu. With all the places to eat in London, my daughter and I will be back there tomorrow night to try different dishes. This place is great.

Situated directly next to a Pizza Express, it is clear why one should go here: Delicious home-cooked Italian food. Of course: home cooked, so nothing culinary fancy or excitingly outrageous, nor is it an 'exerience restaurant' you would go to for a candlelight dinner or something. But that's the charm of this place: solid, straightforward, and very friendly service, too. I always enjoy Colosseo, and their sister restaurant Amalfi at Russell Square, which I equally enjoy and regularly frequent.
