I visited ll Sugo Monday evening for the first time after coming cross it in Camden while on my birthday and I'm glad I did . The food was beautiful nice and fresh . Still really hot when it came to the table and the water and chef couldn't do enough for my on my birthday . The made my up a little birthday cake followed by a few birthday shots . Couldn't recommend this place enough . Really friendly professional staff and lovely food . 5 star from me will definitely be returning when I'm in the area.

The food I ordered was not great as the chicken was very dry, although the tomato sauce on the chicken was nice and potatoes were good. Others in my group really liked the pasta dishes.

The tapas and mains here deserve five stars, the calamari fritti and calamari alla diavola are to die for, the portions are ridiculous, you will leave stuffed! The staff and atmosphere are super welcoming. What let's it down is the dessert, they look great but don't taste great-that said you won't need dessert. Don't expect an Italian restaurant, it's more of a mix between Italian, Spanish and Portuguese which is not necessarily a bad thing. Can't recommend the calamari highly enough and the risotto con pollo, as well as the sea bass!

Although it's a little overpricy. The service was absolutely amazing, greeted at the door when we enter and when we were seated. Although where we were seated there was massive pole that looks like it was bulit in that made it uncomfortable and squishy to sit in. Waiter recommend the lobster linguine and it was absolutely delicious and that was the meal of that day! Also ordered an chicken and mushroom risotto in mushroom sauce. Pretty delicious and both size of the dishes were unbelievable massive which made it better, had to doggy bag as could barely finish it all! The stairs to the toilet were a bit too steep for me, maybe need some hand railing but the last step that lead to the toilet was unbelievable steep and almost tripped over but other then that toilet pretty decent size and hygeniue decent as well. Also ordered lemonade which was rather tasty! For Italian restaurant I would definitely return again!

I had lunch here on Sunday. I had prawns on garlic and oil and fried calamari with tartar sauce while my daughter had spaghetti carbonara. The portions were generous, very tasty and good price. We also had a jug of Sangria which was lovely in such a warm day. Staff was friendly and attentive.

I can honestly say that they have maintained they're high level of quality and service. Very friendly and prompt service. No frills which is nice. Not at all pretentious. Based on the location and the outset, you think it will be a tourist trap or perhaps unauthentic. Having said that, there are elements on the menu that you wouldn't expect, but that's probably to keep the fussy/neophobic customers happy. Don't let that fool you though. Once you sit down and try the food you will be pleasantly surprised. Not only is the food bloody tasty (generous portions too) but the price is very reasonable - sub £25pp for three courses and drinks). I had the lasagne which I must admit, was one of the best I've had in long time, plus I couldn't say no to that tiramisu! Excellent service and a chilled atmosphere. My kinda restaurant! We will be back very soon.

It is honestly a fantastic Italian restaurant and its the best Bolognese I've had. I have ordered from here to takeaway and was just as good then, even had a slice of sour dough bread to go with the takeaway, highly recommend this place!

Have eaten here many times, very friendly staff, too location and more importantly, the food is amazingly good. The fried calamari and pizzas have always been our favourite choices. Whist there are a handful of restaurants and eateries on the way, it's very easy to resist the temptation. If you love Italian, pizzas, pastas and the likes - Il Sugo is a must - c'mon it's not named 'the sauce' for nothing :)!

You order a plate of pasta, and what you receive looks simple enough - pasta, sauce, a sprinkle of herbs and a dash of Parmesan (added on request by one of the friendly waiters to your specification). But every element is just right - perfectly cooked linguine, fresh mushrooms, a delicious sauce... The service was lovely too, friendly and always there when needed.

I've lived in the area for ages but never thought to eat here before so the other week I decided to sit down for a meal for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised not only by the quality of the food but also by the hospitable nature of the staff & (i think) manager or owner, who was extremely attentive to us & all the customers that evening. It's very apparent that there is a lot of love & care that goes into this restaurant. On another note the cocktails were great & actually almost half the price of the cocktails in most of the surrounding bars in Camden. We will definitely be coming again, it would be silly not to.

It is a nice little Italian restaurant, serving pasta, pizza, risotto, salads and other Italian foods. Prices are on the medium side and the portions are ok. The music is not loud and most of the songs are in Italian and Spanish. The decor is not ultra modern. The toilets are downstairs and I found them clean, with running water and liquid soap.

Lovely family dinner last night. Very warm and welcoming service. Pleasant, quiet ambiance made it easy to enjoy our conversation. Both sister and I chose fish - salmon for him, bass for me. Tried Il Sugo a few weeks ago. Really good authentic Italian food in a cozy environment. Really, really good Italian pizza (I'm not kidding about how delicious the pasta was) that will have you salivating for more and the best homemade mushroom and truffle linguine ever. The seafood linguine had this rich seafood essence ingrained into the pasta (don't know how they managed to bring out the seafood taste so well) and was extremely refreshing. Found the chocolate cake a bit meh but the tiramisu was amazing!! They also gave us some lemon biscuit/pastries on the house after our meal. Wonderful place and will definitely come here again every chance I get.

Came across this lovely restaurant unintentionally yesterday after exploring Camden. We were trying to find Pizza Express but due to the heavy rain and cold weather, stopped into the first Italian restaurant we could find. The inside is so cosy and the Valentine décor was very sweet. This was one of my favorite meals out in Boise in the last three years. We had the il sugo and the italian sausage as our sauces, and we thought they were both great, but the italian sausage was actually more flavorful (and was just amazing). Like lots of restaurants in the area, the portions are hearty. I recommend bringing a tupperware from home, since you probably won't eat it all.

Sugo is your safe bet when considering italian food in camden! We decided to share a gnocchi pomodoro mozzarola and basil plate as a starter. THEY WERE AMAZING! The pasta was absolutely perfect and would defintely try more varieties when returning!! For the main course, the beef steak quattro formaggi was a little dissapointing (even it if it was the most expensive dish on the menu). The meat was not cooked medium-rare (as required), it was more of medium, a little to chewy and the cheese sauce a little watery. The service on the other hand was spot on and as a plus, the place is pretty affordable for some quality italian food.

Quite honestly the exact kind of place and experience I needed as of late. Chef directly comes to tell me about the special and he's got me hooked - a steak stroganoff with mixed veg, potatoes, and they even got me some bread to enjoy the left over sauce with. However I went with a full italian process. Aperitif (a sweeter sided Negroni), starter of well made well seasoned bread, the wonderful stroganoff with some limonata, dessert, coffee, digestivo (which I was given on the house, some lovely limoncello). Rafael is a great chef, I'm going to have to come here again, I suggest you do too
