We recently had the pleasure of visiting here for birthday celebrations. This was at Kings Road which is currently serving their Lazio region menu which did not disappoint at all! The restaurants pride themselves on using real Italian mamas to cook their regional recipes to deliver an authentic Italian dining experience. You can even watch them cook as you dine away and they are more than happy to get you to try a sample of some their new recipes. The full set menu is highly recommended however make sure to leave lots of room! You are treated to antipasti, Aperole and an espresso alongside this. The pasta is also incredible and very fresh. To top it off the staff are very friendly and are genuinely interested in what your thoughts are on your dishes plus the atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant.

Been there a few times. Last time was for Valentine’s Day. They had a set menu of 3 or four courses to choose from. The appetisers were all fresh and tasty. From olives to smoked salmon, fennel salad, meatballs, prawns and minestrone. These are fairly free appetisers. If you can have dairy the’d add some quiches and small cheeses. As main we had Crab tortellini and duck breast with spinach and potatoes. Dessert was a chocolate heart filled with vanilla whipped cream and a slice of chocolate cake. The staff is funny, friendly and welcoming. I always love the background music they broadcast. Book in advance on weekends as it gets booked up fairly quickly.

Amazing Italian experience! We found the menu from Lazio and everything, really everything was Amazing. Mix of starters (HUGE and really High quality), delicious Cacio And Pepe and One of the best Amatriciana i've ever had. Mains were "Coda alla vaccinara " and " involtini alla romana", both seemed to come directly from Rome. I Will go there again for sure. The restaurant is small and beautiful with a very warm atmosphere. Loved the music! The service is very welcoming. Fantastic food based on regional dishes that are rotated every few months and placed on a set menu. My advice is to go with an empty belly if you’re going to order the Mama’s set menu; portions are generous and you will be stuffed by the end! And you’ll want to finish everything because the quality of the pasta is high here. It makes me wish you could just order a la carte from the Mama’s menu. The price for the set menu is more than we might usually spend but when you add up everything you get it’s actually good value, especially if you take into account the quality of ingredients and the concept of the restaurant. Great service from Sylvia and the whole team. We’ll be back soon, although we’ll stick to a la carte if we’re not as hungry! A note for parents of young children: they have high chairs and were very nice in accommodating our bambino!

We have been having a party at the lower ground last Monday, the food was really traditional and delicious! Trippa, coda alla vaccinara along the selection of pastas as the tricia were superb! Despite our being noisy, rude and drunk, shouting and dancing the waitress Michela managed to make our night even more memorable delivering an excellent service with smile and professionalism! We loved the food at this authentic Italian restaurant and had such a great time. We ordered a set menu which included a glass of Aperol spritz, antipasto, pasta, dessert and coffee. The antipasto was huge, and instead of the typical cured meats and cheese, included several cooked dishes which were amazing. The pasta dishes and the desserts were excellent too. Service was very good and good Italian music was played. We were sitting at a table close to the front door and were watching how two Italian ladies (the mammas) were making desserts. Walked past this place and decided to give it to a go; must have been the two ladies behind the window making fresh pasta. The place is intimate with ambient lighting. There were couples, groups and individuals. Both table and bar seats available. I had high expectations for this place as it looks very authentic. The waiter had told me about the philosophy behind the restaurant and how they employ unemployed women from around Italy and offer them a chance to cook at their restaurants. Amazing. Would recommend if passing by, also their menu is likely to change every 2-3 months. So you may be surprised with what’s in store!

Absolutely outstanding! This is the most authentic Italian food I've ever tried. I love the concept and we visited when they had a mamma over from Puglia. There were 4 of us visiting the restaurant (unfortunately they don't take bookings under 4 people) and we ordered the set menu of Aperol Spritz, starters to share + a main pasta dish. The starters were incredible, unlike any Italian food I've ever had. There was a big range of small dishes with many different flavours. The pasta dish was also amazing, we all had the Orecchiette cime di Rapa, salsiccia e mollica aromatizzata, with Italian sausage, chilli and turnip The service was great and staff very enthusiastic! We were celebrating two birthdays (which we told them) and they brought over a dessert with a big sparkler in it, with lots of clapping and tambourine playing! Wonderful experience.

Incredible Italian food in Chelsea. This is probably my favourite restaurant in London (and I’ve only visited once!). The concept is fantastic - they bring in ‘Mammas’ from different regions of Italy to cook their regional cuisine for a few months. The food is also outstanding. I’d definitely recommend one of the set menu option as you get to try the various antipasti dishes - you certainly won’t be hungry at the end of this meal. It was very busy in here so I’d recommend booking ahead if possible (if you are a party of 3 or more). Can’t wait to eat here again!

We absolutely love the concept of La Mia Mamma restaurant in Chelsea. Every three months customers embark on an Italian culinary journey focusing on one of the Italian regions. The mammas travel from Italy to London with their recipe books to serve their favourite dishes from their local region. We visited this homely restaurant during Emilia Romagna season which is just east of Tuscany. Emilia Romagna is known as “La Grassa”(the fat!) which is the homeland of some of Italy’s freshest and most authentic pastas. One thing we noticed immediately was the amount of Italian diners in the restaurant which is always a good sign. We were also greeted with a Buona Sera on arrival (good evening) which is actually rare in London. The restaurant is split over two floors with seating at the lovely bar area and tables dotted around surrounded by exposed brickwood and photos of the Mamas and maps of Italy. There are al carte items available which cover all Italian regions but it was all about trying the local region for us! La Mia Mamma offers ‘Mamma’s Menu’ (2 people minimum) where you can build your own menu. The best bit is that dessert and espresso are always included! You can choose from Antipasti to share and pasta (£28pp), add on a Aperol Spritz (£33pp) and add on a main dish (£38pp). Given how much food you get (read on!) the menus are great value. We obviously kicked off with an Aperol Spritz as an Italian feast is not the same without one nowadays… The antipasti selection to share changes daily depending on mamma’s mood and we can assure you it is plentiful! Served in small bowls on a platter we had a selection which included mushroom gratin, marinated fried pumpkin, stew of potatoes and beans, potato with bechamel sauce and parmesan cheese, stuffed courgette and gnocci fritto! We have never had such a large antipasti selection! It wasn’t the prettiest but it sure was tasty with lots of variety. There was a selection of five pastas (most of which are homemade daily) to choose from. We opted for the Tortelloni ricotta e spinaci with butter and sage sauce and lasagne of the day (meat Bolognese). Served in small frying pans, the pasta dishes looked fantastic. The Tortelloni was AMAZING– it tasted so fresh, al dente and was stuffed with filling. If I was being fussy, a little more butter and sage would have been preferable but it was incredible. As we were pretty stuffed, we shared a dessert (there was a selection of five). We chose the recommendation of chocolate salami made from cocoa, broken biscuits, butter and eggs! It was a small treat, perfect to share at the end of a big meal. La Mia Mamma is a must visit Italian restaurant in Chelsea. The food was fantastic, we loved the rotation of different Italian regions and the service was lovely.

Great concept with interesting authentic Italian dishes. Nothing to complain about on the food front. However the service left much to be desired. Waiter was good, but we arrived at 19:00 and only managed to leave after 23:00. Each course of the set menu took more than an hour to arrive with no apology or reason for the wait.

If you're looking for some genuine italian food, this is the place. Not really cheap, but it's worth it. All the pastas are delicious (especially the one with fish). Small desserts. My only complaint is about the service. The last time I went there, I was with my boyfriend. Our waiter was serving some friends and at a point, completely forgot about us and delivered our food to another table. In the end we waited 45 mins for a part of our dinner. At least the food was tasty

Great food in a very nice location. Food is freshly prepared and tasted properly Italian. They propose different menus, with starters, pasta and main courses + Aperol Spritz (good!). Service is kind and friendly, sometimes not very efficient. Dishes are plentiful, so make sure you are hungry! Prices a bit above average but that's aligned to the food quality.

Amazing Italian food! They change the menu every three months to introduce food from a different region. They then bring mammas from this region to London to cook here in the restaurant. They are no chefs, just normal Italian mums - you can even watch some of them cooking. And the food is absolutely delicious! It's a good idea to reserve though as it gets very busy in the evenings. They didn't have a vegan option but were more than happy to adapt the dishes they offered and it was still really, really good food! They also cater for little ones.

We were a group of 8, so booking table is a must. Had a smiling welcome. Cosy place definitely. Patient staff who care to listen and explain their unique concept of actual Italian mothers cooking for you. We even had a cook of the day (Meaning italian only speaking mum dance with us for few minutes). The food was delicious with natural flavours. 6 different antipasti from the Puglia region. Fish was superb! Homemade Pasta for the main course was perfect! A must visit for a food lover!

Really hard to fault this restaurant. From the moment you enter, the staff are friendly and welcoming, which isn't always the case in this part of London. A glass of Franciacorta is an excellent way to start the evening. The menu has lots of delicious choices without being overwhelming. Service is attentive but not intrusive. The only down side was that I had no space left for dessert. Looking forward to a return visit.

The food was good and outdoor dining was excellent. Definitely a highlight of my EOHO. Be warned, it took an hour plus between putting our name in and actually sitting down. Vivid mask wearing and table cleaning was good quality.

Good food and good management. Sometimes the ambiance is different depending on the day of the week (we've been there on a Tues and Thurs and both nights were very different in terms of lighting, music and staff interaction). Servers could be better - on one occasion, La Mia Mamma and its concept (the Mamas, changing menu, etc) was explained to our guests; but the second time it was not. Also, on our last visit - when we walked in, a server told us that they had no seating whilst we looked at about 5 empty tables upstairs. We waited 15 minutes near the bar then another group came in behind us without a reservation and were seated immediately by a different server. We then spoke to the manager who told us that 3/5 of the tables were free that night and the server who told us otherwise was wrong. Not a great start but it was an okay experience.

Tasty homely Italian food. Unfortunately the service was sooo slow. We agreed that it was the slowest service we had experienced in London, after living here for 6 years. We were in the restaurant for nearly 3 hours. It seemed to me that most people there were celebrating as a large group. Maybe that is why we got ignored. As I say the food was tasty, but not worth the wait I’m afraid... :(

During lockdown in May 2020 we ordered the La Mia Mamma Survival Pack for a special celebration for myself and my husband Alex. The box was filled with fresh and homemade delicious Italian ingredients for us to make our own Italian Feast - the box included fresh pasta dough, fresh pizza dough, fresh bread, chesses, charcuterie, pasta sauces, eggplant parmigiana, arancini, EV olive oil, wine, DIY ricotta cannoli and more! We were blown away by the quantity and quality of all the ingredients! We were able to enjoy the food over several days and still have pasta and pizza dough in the freezer. It was so much fun to make it ourselves without the hassle of making everything from scratch. Highly recommend ordering from here it's so wonderful to see business adapting to the lockdown and providing joy through food for us at home! Look forward to ordering more and hopefully visiting in person soon!!

One of my favorite new restaurants in London. The staff was so welcoming and friendly. The set menu was also a great deal- an enormous amount of antipasti between two people, an aperol spritz, a pasta or main, dessert and espresso for 28 pounds. Finally they are back! If there was something I really missed during this lock down is eating out and one the restaurant I missed the most is La mia Mamma. I am a long term aficionados that came by chance to this restaurant the first time when they opened as I was craving some rustic Italian food in the neighbourhood. I found it and I am so so happy when they re opened in their new pop up site in Hollywood road. Food there is real, hearty, simply delicious. All the team there is very welcoming, mamma are fantastic and always ready to make you try delicious bites of their specialties even if you haven't ordered, just like a real mamma in Italy would do. I simply love here and I am so glad they managed to re opened in this new location which I found super well organises and cosy although with the social distance respected. For me it is "a must go", over and over again! well done guys, please don't disappeared on me again for so long! Great food and great team!!!

I’m writing this review as I’m still sitting here enjoying the atmosphere, restaurant and my full belly!! Great dishes - lovely service & ambience. Great personal touch from La Mamma who touched base a couple of times to ensure we were enjoying our meal here. Top notch!!!👌🏻 Second visit didn’t go so well. Food and drinks took a while to arrive and both quality and taste weren’t of the same level as our previous visit. To add to the experience we had a table sitting next to us who decided to play their guitar and sing, for which I had to ask them to stop and they eventually moved elsewhere. The waitress told us one of them was the owner, and the manager who came to check on us denied it. Really want to like this place but feelings are mixed after our last visit.

The menu is quite generously portioned. We had the menu with pasta + main and ate until we were insanely full. Unfortunately, we only did so because we had already committed to the full menu - whilst the food is nice, it's was just that and not as good as I was expecting it to be (and that then makes hard to justify paying £40 for a meal). The service was insanely slow, at least 30 minutes between each course every time, which was disappointing but they do make it up for having a very nice staff that livens up the restaurant.

La Mia Mamma is hands down my favourite spot when I want to feel like I'm back home. It's like being surrounded by family with incredible food to match, from starters to mains to desserts. They get mammas to come and cook regional dishes, with a different Italian region being featured every three months or so. I've been here for every single one of them and NEVER have been disappointed. The service is always great and the food is made as if it was my mamma or my nonna cooking it for me, a great value for money too. Get yourself down there (book tho, it gets quite busy!) and benefit from some of the mammas love, it cures anything a tough day might have thrown at you. P.S. watch out for the mammas coming with pots and pans around the restaurant, there might be some extra food coming your way in true Italian mum's style 😉

A great evening with the amazing mamma Rosanna, the wonderful staff and the delicious menu from Campania. The restaurant buzzes with a lively atmosphere. I loved the playlist of Italian songs from the 80s, even my English friends enjoyed to sing along Raffaella Carrà every time there was a birthday celebration. We went for the full £39 set menu, the waitress warned us they were going to be stuffed and she was absolutely right. Last time I ate this much was at an Italian wedding. The food is delicious, the starters are abundant and easy to share, and they come with a glass of spritz. The first main was a pasta dish, again fairly abundant, and as we were waiting for our second main, the mamma comes along with another pasta dish for us to try, served straight from the pot. Not that we needed it, because by the time the second main course arrived we were all pretty stuffed. To top it up, we also had a dessert to finish us off. The wine list is good, but I felt there’s a lack of affordable wines. We went for an amazing wine but it was almost £50 a bottle, definitely worth it but I would have liked to see a wider selection that won’t break the bank. The only other downside has been a relaxed (aka slow) service. Luckily we weren’t asked to free the table as we were there for the later service but, the whole meal took us over 3 hours and we didn’t even get coffee in the end as it took us 20 minutes just to get the bill. In a way, it’s great that you get time to make space for the next course but, it would be even better to have an attentive service. Apart for those two small things, I still rate the place very highly. I’ll definitely come back again!

The food is very well prepared and the atmosphere is genuinely 100% italian. All the dishes I have tried were very tasty and nice. It is really like traveling Italy through their food specialities. It s a bit pricy but totally worth for the quality of the food. The only (big) downside is the weird way they have organized their menu. You are not allowed to order any of the dishes from the mamma menu (which should be the very reason you come here) if not as part of a pre-set menu. It means you must have an espresso, a Spritz, a dessert and an antipasto if you want to try any of the mamma dish. Why?

Extraordinary service! It’s like visiting Italian relatives/friends in their home! They really know how to treat their patrons. The “Mamas” go around giving out food to taste to the tables. They joke with the people ask and engage in small talk. We had a wonderful evening here. We ate from the Puglia region on our visit. When we arrived, the 'set menu' was explained to us and we thought it was quite expensive but the portions were huge, the food absolutely delicious, and very authentic. Thw price included desert and coffee. The staff had tremendously high energy, which they kept up all evening, celebrating many birthdays in the restaurant with song and dance. It was a Saturday night and packed and although we had been told that we should leave by 7.30pm (we came for a 6.0pm booking), no-one rushed us or asked us to go and we left at 8.45pm! Only downsides were that it was very noisy and especially loud for the birthday songs, and they charge 50p extra for having a macciato coffee instead of an expresso and another extra 50p for decaf - that rankled slightly.

I was there yesterday with a friend for the first time, I been there because a friend recommended it to me, it were a awesome experience. First the welcoming I was thinking I was eating at home with my friend, thing that I like so much, secondary the mamma concept, woooow!!! She welcomed us and she said that she didn’t want to go back home and start explaining to us the menu ( I’m lucky I speak Italian ). After we tried the antipasti (what a ricotta ), all typical and homemade, we pass ti the main am amazing fresh pasta served on the pan. Overall the food was good, although the portions were pretty small and all the starters were cold. I think they were not prepared to have such a big table, so I would give them another try with a smaller group. Love the “importing the Italian mammas to cook in London” concept as you’ll find less mainstream Italian recipes on the menu! We also tried the involtini di spada (OMG) and the Montalbano pasta ‘ncasciata! Plus, you can see the mamma preparing the pasta in the restaurant window which is quite entertaining!

Tasty and quality food, but slightly expensive for what it is Went there on a date night and ordered the carbonara and the ziti from this month's menu. The carbonara was slightly too salty (the sauce overpowered the delicate taste of the pasta instead of complementing it) but overall good. The ziti was well balanced and had a good blend of flavors - sweet and mellow from the slow cooked tomato and onions, with some slight tartness from the tomatoes and a good amount of spices simmered in the sauce. The food was delicious and of excellent quality (although I have to say my friend Edoardo's carbonara surpasses the mammas'), although the portion is relatively small for ~£15 per plate of pasta (the set menu might be a better option, but I didn't try it) Would still happily go again, but perhaps Lina stores or Bancone could be better options both in quality and in value
