Reviews of La Porchetta Pollo Bar

I absolutely loved this restaurant, as someone who is more on the less fancier side. It was authentic Italian food which didn't disappoint and was one of the best pasta/pizza I had in a while. Their pizza is a must try with the chili oil since it provides a kick to the pizza. The dough is perfectly even cooked throughout as well especially if you aren't the type to eat the crusts, I was actually able to whole heartedly enjoy it. The pasta was perfect all the way throughout and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend for anyone who hasn't tried real Italian food to go to this place as it isn't too fancy and you can kickback with friends or family!

I went last night with my friends and we was surprised about the quality of this restaurant. The service was excellent, the quality of the food was great, the food was absolutely delicious. The portions are huge. The garlic bread is delicious and the size was like a pizza. Everything was very fresh. The waitrose was very kind. I recommended this restaurant if you want to try a traditional Italian food.

Oh my god! The best Italian restaurant I’ve been to since I moved to London from Italy. We opted for a simple pizza and we were shocked! It was as good as the pizzas in Italy and the price was so affordable! The menu was so various with many choices and great princes, service was fast enough and waitresses polite. The ambient was so cozy and well decorated, it reminded me of Italy, I will definitely return at least once a month this place was the best!!!.
C. P.
A friend took me there and the place really surprised me! Quality food, great price!
The pizzas were really tasty, the dough was light and digestible, good quality of first ingredients. Very generous on the toppings and I love this!)
Total bills for 4 pizzas + 1 bottle of Prosecco and still water= £80 including service charge.
Pizzas on pictures: Tartufo (truffle), 4 formaggi (4 cheeses), Principessa (Prosciutto & Funghi) and Special (Mortadella, Burrata & Pistacchio).
If you are looking for a filling meal without emptying your wallet this is the place to go in Soho!

I have to edit this comment as I went back to this restaurant and I gotta say, food is amazing, quality, price is really good but most important, Pasqual makes your time a bit more fun! Defo go and give it a chance! You won’t regret it.
Let’s put this straight forward. The food is very good (I’ll give to the food a 4*, at least the pizzas we had. My only complaint was (personal experience) the service I had. We had to wait for more than 25 minutes to get our food, when pretty much all the other tables ordered at the same time and finished their food we were still waiting for our food. Also got dirty glasses. After that, one of the guys (staff) got upset cause I refused to pay the service charge. Come on! This is London, I’m not complaining for the quality of the food, trust me. The food is really good and delicious but unfortunately one bad experience.

Went here with a friend, the staff are very smiley and welcoming! The pizza was very affordable and amazing! One of the best pizzas I’ve had. £8 for a massive pizza sounds amazing to me, defiantly recommend for beautiful Italian food on a budget.

This restaurant is extra ordinary it’s a family oriented restaurant. I have travelled the whole world I’m in love with pizza I have never had such a pizza I mean the bread the floor of the pizza and the ingredient is marvellous very satisfying. When I saw the ship I thought this is going to be the best restaurant I’ve ever had in London. He is full of trust he knows what he’s doing and is very smiley and friendly guy… God bless 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
L. I.
The pizza here is just to die for! Always good big portion and truly delicious 🤤
Also if you want a real aperol cone to this place not the watery ones the do everywhere else. Staff are brilliant as well! Always a great experience.
H. P.
Amazing food and service! 23 of us went to La Porchetta Pollo after a theatre show, and staff there looked after us really well. They attended to our every request with a smile regardless of how many times we called them. Every one of us loved the food; each dish was really tasty, and the portion sizes were generous. Their prices were reasonable too. Would definitely recommend it 👌
E. E.
First off, the food is delicious. We ordered three different pasta dishes and they were at least a 4/5. The portions are also huge, considering it was around the average price of a pasta dish (8-9£). My biggest, and quite a significant issue, was the service. We ordered the bruschetta starter (which was delicious) and it took at least 45 minutes before it was served. The main dish took an extra 30 minutes to come, so in total we waited over an hour for our food. The atmosphere was ok, it was very authentically Italian, but it was very noisy and the general vibe was pretty hectic. We also saw the pizza being made in a way that wasn’t the most sanitary (especially in these covid times) by a very Italian man. Overall, the deliciousness of the food might convince me to come back in perhaps the summertime, but it wouldn’t be a place I would visit often simply because I don’t have the patience.

Authentic, tiny small Italian restaurant with two floors near Leicester Square. Lovely costumer service and excellent portions of tasty food! 😋 For London this is probably the best price/quality/quantity you will get .
h. _.
Well well We’re just in love with their pizza’s.. also the tiramisu was sooooo good 🤤🤤
We’re gonna be daily visitors 😂
B. D.
Lovely Italian restaurant in the hustle and bustle of Soho. The Gnocchi was absolutely delicious, and great Aperol Spritz. Super affordable as well, especially for the area! Not at all like London prices but great quality and friendly service!
K. M.
A little gem in the heart of the west end. An extensive menu with lots of choice. The place is very friendly, food is plentiful and arrives steaming hot. Great flavours and the pizzas are Italian style and not like the mass chains. Love this place.
B. P.
OH MY GOD PLEASE GO. The food is unbelievable and it was PACKED, so I'm not the only one that thinks that. Also, I know it's hard, but I would recommend leave space for dessert.
L. M.
Great customer service and big portions, as usual. Although, this time, the pastas weren't so great. A couple of them were slightly overcooked and my risotto was mushy and not well mixed (I found balls of white rice at the bottom, so I didn't finish my main). But the pizza was great!
J. H.
We had pizzas, gnocchi and lasagna. All really delicious. We had no booking, but it was between lunch and dinner, so no problem getting a table. Service was swift, but not hurried. Prices very reasonable. Would really recommend if you are looking for good, authentic Italian food without unnecessary fuss, (and the prices that go with it).
L. S.
As an Italian who's vegan I've found this place a really good choice. They don't have a proper vegan menù, but they veganised the pizza for me. The staff is very kind and attentive. If you want to taste a proper italian pizza this is the place. Is not expensive, especially compared to places where they have the same price but a mediocre pizza. I would definitely recommend this place.
E. B.
Great value for money!
We had two pizzas, the one with the truffle and the maradona one. Both were delicious.
The place is super cheap for Central London standards and I would highly recommend it if you are hungry and you don’t care so much about the atmosphere. The service could have been better but there were only two guys trying to serve everyone.
I. F.
Great birthday treat meal out with friends. All dishes are excellently prepared and flavoured, and the portions are proper Italian 👍😊
I had the calzone which was amazing and hanging off the plate.
D. H.
Cheap and cheerful, nice atmosphere, we ate downstairs away from the crowds. The lady serving us was lovely.
We had a bowl of pasta, 2 salads and a calzonè, everthing was polished of including a bottle of wine....
S. C.
There is a lot of competition for good pizza in the centre of the capital and La Porchetta may win the prize. Busy venue with a friendly family vibe. Very fair prices.
f. v.
Staff os very attentive and super nice still. I've always loved this restaurant for the great food, unfortunately I was very underwhelmed this weekend. The menu was reduced to the usual commercial Italian dishes, very cliche, I missed the different pastas they used to make. I ordered a gamberetti alla diavolla of which I only managed a spoon. It looked like a sauce without pasta. Pizza is still great, but when it comes to pasta and other dishes it could be any other pretend Italian restaurant in the West end. Don't let the guard down please.
a. r.
Friendly staff, very good food is served, if you pass by don't forget to get a proper Italian spritz ;-)
B. S.
Top Italian kitchen. Absolutely super experience, delicious pizza and pasta.
k. l.
Smashing atmosphere, great quality of service and amazing food! 👏 Big portions and the staff are really friendly, mixed seafood pasta was bursting with flavour. Highly recommended 😎
R. P.
The restaurant makes you feel as if your at your nona’s (grandma’s) house. Where you feel happy eating your favourite food. Great easy going atmosphere, fantastically delicious food, ginormous portions and great prices for central London. Really proper Italian food! Miss it greatly now that is close due to the current worldwide events.
Y. K.
This is my favourite go-to place for homemade Italian food. It’s affordable (pastas are under £10), the portions are huge, the owner always welcomes you so warmly and is very friendly. The service is great too. Note: it gets incredibly busy and waiting times can be long because it’s so popular. There’s seating downstairs, but when coming in a group of 3 or more, be prepared to wait for a while. Aim to arrive before the big dinner rush at around 7:30, especially on Friday & Saturday. A table for one or two will most likely be seated a lot faster.
Be warned, you may be tempted to order what the table next to you has ordered. Happens to me (and others) all the time! The food looks and smells amazing. Tastes fantastic too!
C. R.
Nice little restaurant, really friendly staff, reasonable prices. Only been once, but will definitely go again. Had one of their calzone pizzas, probably the biggest I've ever had! Served with a cold, slightly spicy tomato sauce. My companion had pasta with arabiata sauce which she declared as lovely! Doesn't open till 3pm and it is small, so if you want to try it, get there when it opens!
K.
This is an excellent Italian restaurant. All the food is reasonably priced and delicious. My friend who went with me was also very satisfied.
A. H.
Excellent value, authentic Italian restaurant. Proper Italian chef. Ate there several times during a trip, and absolutely loved it.
R. I.
I went here with my dad a few days ago before going to the theatre. It was very nice and we were both very happy with our meals and the service. The staff were very welcoming and we found it great value for money. We returned the next day because it was so good. The servings are big so you get a good meal. We loved it a lot and hope to return again.

One of the best place with proper italian food. Big big big portions ! For hungry people would be heaven ! 😄
A. S.
Very cozy and authentic Italian restaurant. Big, luscious, and juicy pizzas. Steaming pastas and lively atmosphere. All at very fair prices. Highly recommend.
C. D.
Delicious food 🤤 The biggest calzone I ever seen and I have no words to describe how appetising it was also the starter... 😐 Very friendly staff and good serving. Congrats to all, congrats to the chef. Grazzie mille, ci vediamo presto. ❤
A. S.
Pizza was delicious and very fairly prices, loud atmosphere so not recommended for a quiet romantic dinner but it was brilliant!
S. H.
Perfect place to eat if on a night out in London as stays open later. Been going for 20 years and they're so friendly and food really good 👍
L. L.
Real Italian food. Excellent pizza with thin crust as it should. Reasonably priced considering location (most pizza under £10). I will be back and will recommend.
D. L.
Very nice pizza end calzone... pizza chefs very friendly as well as the other staff!
Nice experience to have in a pizza restaurant!
Highly reccomenended! Q

Looked at other reviews for La Porchetta, and after coming to try we were not disappointed!
Great food, with freshly made pizzas - crispy and soft! Price was decent for London and portion size.
Carbonara pasta came with a generous helping of bacon, pasta and parmesan!
Would come back again:)
M. A.
Food is really, really great.
Excellent, really very casual dining.
Despite being known for awesome pizza this time we ordered bruschetta, aubergine parmigiana and a pasta dish. Super!
Oh … best panna cotta ever.
Not fancy but wonderful
R. P.
Incredible authentic atmosphere. The food was very good and the portions very generous. Wandered off the street to grab a bite and it turned out to be an incredible decision. The food had a very "homely" feeling to it and the prices were reasonable. Would definitely recommend.
신.
I had calzone and Risotto marinara.
The best risotto I’ve ever had in my life.
The portion is very big and lots of ingredients in it. The Quality, quantity, price and service overall fantastic. I’ve been here 3 times and they never disappointed me. My first time here was with my Italian friend, he took me to La porchetta pollo restaurant and I enjoyed the vibe and everything :)
Thank you so much for the good food and service.
S. R.
Amazing Italian spot situated in the heart of Soho, London. Always delicious food and reasonable prices.
Super friendly staff will make you feel like in the proper Italian ristorante! Welcoming and easy to help
In menu you will find good selection of pizza and pasta, very nice starter options as well!
Grab a pint of Birra Moretti from the draft and enjoy your meal, finish with classic Italian limoncello shot ;)
Very good for friends meetings and even bigger groups as they have 2 floors and enough space to make everyone happy there :)
Pizza is super good and serve really fast.
Cheers to all team, see you soon
A. D.
The food is very authentic and tasty. The portions are generous and they use good quality ingredients. I ordered the seafood tagliatelle and asked the waiter to ask the chef not to use any alcohol - the instruction was respected and responded to.
The margarita pizza was very fresh and delicious.
I would definitely return here.

Ok, mate just to meet up with a friend before we headed to Admiral Duncan to catch a drag show. He had a very large penne bolognese pasta this it tastes quite nice I decided to have a burrata the broch of courses on point and then later a panna cotta the panna cotta firm, boi it was firm but I liked it. The loud and vebrosted, typically Italian man who was tossing the pizza bases was very passionate about his business. I like to hear I'll definitely come back and very reasonably priced.
J. R.
Very good pizza at a fair price
v.
Dellicious pizza, quirky ambiance, great staff.
New owner but kept its originality
k. r.
Amazing hospitality and the food was hot and was 10/10 in taste. Reasonably priced as well with very good portions. Do give it a try, you won't regret it!
M. D.
Delicious food, generous portions, taste sensation!
True Italian food served without being fancy. Loved it!
The chairs aren't the most comfortable, but the food makes up for it!
Highly recommended!

Super cheap and delicious Italian food. This place saved to my go to list 👍🏻
E. W.
Our go to place to eat in the West End. Fantastic pizzas and pasta, great value and one of the best in London. Drinks are good value too.
e. b.
The best food I have eaten in England. The best quality, quantity, price ratio. Professional and very friendly staff.
G. B.
Good authentic Italian cooking. Almost had a home made quality. I recommend the pasta putanesca. Ample portion, lots of flavour without being over dominated by the anchovies. Looked great. A random guy on an adjacent table asked me what it was because he wanted to order it too.
S. C.
Delicious food, abundant amount of servings and amazing price!! Totally recommend it!
G. K.
The La Porchetta Pollo Bar has a great atmosphere, funny & friendly staff. The food was so delicious, best pizza I had in a long time! 2 floors, so enough space to get a table. Clean gens toilet and good music, if you are in the London area go and eat an amazing pizza!
N. L.
Had a lovely meal here, the food was amazing and the staff were very nice indeed. Portion size was fantastic well worth the money 👍👍👍

Best pizza in outside Napoli. Good service along with reasonable prices. Highly recommend.

Unpretentious, genuine Italian restaurant. The food is delicious & so reasonable, quite rare in the heart of London. So delighted it is open again!

Best pizza I ever ate in London!!!
I mean, as Italian I was always quite disappointed by other place, but then I found this one, and it was wonderful! The taste and consistency is wonderful, you will not regret it. Definitely recommend it!

Great food & very reasonable

I had the lasagna, very good!
The food was fantastic
The staff could smile a little bit more.
D.
Good simple rustic Italian food family run restaurant large portions full of gusto it’s like going back to the 70s lovely !
B. B.
Love this place always friendly, foods great made fresh to order, affordable and you can watch them making the pizza 🍕
J. M.
Delicious and taste food. Friendly service. Comfortable atmosphere.
Love talking with the owner.
M. d.
Love it. A fine Neopolitan pizza every time, not the generic chain nonsense, and the shortest walk from The Spice of Life.
j. p.
If you want to eat authentic Italian then this is for you. Avoid going on Friday night as its so busy and food and service might not meet your expectations. Try weekdays and you will have the best food. Chef is very good and can make it as per your taste
O. G.
The atmosphere and food felt very Italian, and it was tasty. As others mentioned, the stuff should pay more attention to the customers, through we hadn't too much problem getting waiter's attention.
A. L.
Delicious food and great service attitude
M.
One of the best Italian restaurants in London. Everything is delicious and doesn't break the bank.
M. L.
Affordable. No frills. Casual food, yet very satisfying.
E. J.
Fair prices restaurant with fab calzone right in Soho. Food came quickly. Good ambience. Loses a star as wait staff could be friendlier and part of my order didn't arrive. However would not put me off going again.
S. L.
Delicious authentic Italian food, large portions and good prices.
s.
Without any doubt this is the BEST pizza house in Soho. You can get a damn good pizza from as little as around £5.90 for an Americano. The service is prompt, and you’ll be eating within mins.
I’ve been going for years, I must admit it’s fun to watch the new Italian waiters/waitresses learn their craft.
Overall a great place, everyone I’ve introduced here has since gone back and introduced others.
#MUSTNOTMISSPIZZA

Very nice pizza and the cook at the entrance is always friendly and smiling: love him!
A. 9.
Been here twice and always got very great pizza. I'd like to come back to taste other Italian dishes
J. H.
Great food. Good value for money.
R. B.
Brilliant value for money, fantastic pizza for under £10 in central Soho!
A. S.
Until the Coronapocalypse hit we used to eat there every Sunday with my daughter — we can't wait to return. The pasta is so good that once I finished a plate and felt like crying — and I know about pasta because I'm half-Italian. The waiters are always very kind — the chef always popped out to say hi to us. A lovely place that gets busy when the theatres are open but head there as soon as they open and you'll get a table with no problems.
Hopefully this madness will be over soon and we'll be able to eat here again!
R. B.
Quite enjoyed the food ordered a latte at the end of the meal and was given a half full glass clearly whoever made it hasn't been taught to make them properly however they did replace the coffee without arguing but the service was a bit slow unfortunately as we were short on time as we were due to make the theatre
B. O.
(Min)Fantastic food, really good attendance and prices, love it this restaurant.
(Ben)it’s so so good I really recommend it we bought two pizzas and omg they r better than any pizza I’ve ever eat it’s the best thx for the delicious pizza:)♥️
s. s.
The food was very good! The place was really friendly and they allowed us to make noise and sing at the table! They deserve 5 star for the way they welcomed us and they treated us! Friendly people and really easy!
C. P.
Lovely thin based pizzas served by friendly staff.
N. P.
Super tiny place with some really good pizzas and pasta.
R. Z.
Fabulous authentic Italian food, served by Italian waiters. Great food, great service in a great location. Grazie! See you soon!
J. P.
My friend and I come here regularly! We love the atmosphere, friendly staff, great prices and delicious pizza and pasta. A cozy restaurant in the middle of London.
P. O.
Love it!! Best Pizza in London! The place is small but down stairs there is more tables.
S. M.
Beautiful Italian pizza! Thank you very much.
C.
Visited this resturant for the first time last week. Pizza was amazing, healthy portions, great atmosphere and value for money. Staff were accommodating and I plan to return next week!
B. C.
Probably the best pizza I have ever had made by real Italian's.
L. J.
Good prices and a lot of kings of pizza and other italian dishes. Very good taste. Good customer service.
E. V.
One of the best bolognese I ate. Flawless, thank you
L. A.
The service and the food are amazing. Always full, this means that everything is 5 stars. Well done guys.
H. H. C.
Food was quite good, and generous portions. Service was good and staff very friendly.
j. b.
Fantastic Italian food. The guys are coming from Avellino are very cool
M. M.
Been coming to this little gem for over 30 years. Never ceases to amaze me how they can provide such excellent food for the value! Highly recommend!!
K. “. L.
Lovely cosy restaurant which has been around for years. I hadn’t been to this place for years and my last visit (not long ago) was just as a nice experience as before. Quality of food was still the same, large portions and l like the fact that the side salad was bit bigger than most restaurants and not just a mouthful, but l think the prawns should be called shrimps. Prices however are still very reasonable. Staff were friendly but a tad slow.
Our party did have a lovely meal.
A. S.
Authentic low key straight up solid pizza work no hussle no gimmick
V. M.
La Porchetta never disappoints. Authentic and unpretentious Italian atmosphere as well as delicious food, good portions and reasonable prices.
B.
The tables felt like they where squeezed together and I barely had any room to go between the tables to the chair. The staff forgot about the wine we ordered but came with it right away after we said it. The pizza was good. Overall an okay dinner, nothing too special.
G.
So cheap (even compared to outside of London) for good service, a nice location (we sat in the window seats) and the most beautiful pasta I've had in the UK.
S. S.
Sincerely excellent and delicious pizza and starters. Their portions were huge, and this was—without a doubt—some of the best pizza I’ve had. Really great value for money. The staff were friendly and kind, and I hope to return here soon.
d. s.
Amazing food
Real Italy food taste
I have pizza and pasta both very tasty and huge portion
The pasta that I have was with salmon and you really can say that salmon is there😁
The pizza is so good -no words need it
Drinks are ok I try the house wine not a statement but I guess the food was the one that drive us there not the drinks
The service is basic but excellent not fancy but is I guess the normal over friendly familiar Italian service - which is not bad at all
Regarding the bill 😝we pay around £25 for 2 with drinks including tips - this is a good deal in centre of London
I well advice any one to go there at list one time to try it and I guaranty u that you will never regret
v. r.
Excellent food specially Pizzas.
Great Friendly service.
K. G.
Started well but waitress did not understand gin and tonic so we couldn't drink as don't drink wine or beer, turned out they do do gin after we got a different waitress. Ordered gluten free pasta which they said would be 15 minutes, 45 minutes later no food. Sausage heavy on fennel flavour not mentioned on menu, overall very disappointing, huge portions for the price though.
G. G.
If you're looking for amazing service and great staff, this is the place ! The food is deliscious and has the biggest portions I've ever seen in London. Will be coming back for sure
N. P.
The restaurant has an authentic Italian family run style pizzaria .
Their pizza is so yummy, perfectly cooked and they're generous with their toppings at a decent price.
The manager and the staff are very friendly, chatty and sometimes a little slow on getting food and bills but overall a great taste of Italy in the heart of London's west end.
J. G. R.
Well, I didn't have high expectations for an Italian in town, but this one is surprisingly good, fresh food and well priced. Bit noisy, maybe.
B. A.
Been visiting for years now. The best pasta and pizza north of italy. Delicious meals. Big portions. Outstanding value for money. Extremely if considering the location. Staff is good. Sometimes music too loud. Delicious food!!!
l. M.
Absolutely love this place. Cheap aperol spritz, massive plates of delicious pasta for under a tenner, what more could you want?
g. w.
After traipsing round looking for a good bite to eat, we got recommended this place. What a find! Huge portions, they make the pizza bases onsite and my teen kids loved them. Great prices too which is refreshing in London. Very attentive service and good atmosphere made it a really good meal.
А.
Exceptonal value for money
Cheap, delicious, friendly, fun, don't know what to want more
s. s.
Brilliant service! Family run business quality ingredients for fantastic meal options from pizza to pasta! If your looking for authentic Italian food this is your place!
N.
The staff was attentive but really casual and didn’t bother us frequently. It was a great experience, such a cool vibe, the pizzas and lasagne are absolutely remarkable, did I give 5 stars? Wish I could give 10 because the ingredients were great quality, it is unbelievable for the price, can’t beat that.
C. F.
We went for a birthday party and had a large party of 23. So they took our drinks orders first, they could've asked if we wanted any starters or mains at the same time because pasta and meat take a while to cook but they didn't so we ended up waiting for an hour before some people who didn't order starters got food. Would be good to go there with less people in future.
J. D.
I've been coming here for around 25 years now so they must be doing something right! The pizzas are great and made from scratch right in front of you (well, that's if you're sitting near the front upstairs), starters are usually big enough for 2 and some decent wines too. You won't find anywhere better for these prices in central London.
E. P.
A four star restaurant that deserves a fifth.
Great food and great atmosphere. The pizzas are made infeont of you for a great price.
Would reccomend to anyone who seeks a true Italian experience out of Italy.

Creators of my favourite crispy pizza in London.
Despite what my svelte figure would have you believe, I have eaten _a great deal_ of pizza in my life. This is my favourite, or at least up there in shared first place.
Bear in mind that my tastes are pretty simple though. The toppings and sauce are fairly average, but the base makes up for it. Properly crispy, but airy where it needs to be. To quote the wise Noam Chomsky; "Yummy yummy yummy, I got food in my tummy".
The place itself is average, you could definitely get away with taking a date here, but not if you're looking to impress. Not great for groups over 5 either, as it's fairly small and packed together.
The staff are friendly, and the prices are competitive, for where it is.
K. P.
My best friend introduced me to La Porchetta in 2010 and I have introduced many of my friends since. The pizzas are amazing and other dishes are great for the prices. A pizza costs on average £8 and I would highly suggest the Napoletana. The place needs a good refurbishment though. Willing Italian waiters who are here to learn English and have the London experience- please do not expect a 5 star service- go for the food and get out
P. D.
Always love coming here for the wonderful and plentiful food and the welcome
m. w.
Found this place, quite by chance. Glad we did. First of all, the menu is simple but truly Italian. The staff are young, attentive and friendly which gives the place an overall buzz. The clientele are delightfully mixed as expected in Soho. A good meal for two with alcohol, starter and main course was about £45 including a service charge.

Most excellent. This is how pizza should taste. We had our wedding reception in the old stroud green road restaurant in 1999 and the food still tastes just as delicious. Top notch!!
C. K.
Very nice, pizza delic, been going for years, not busy now, hope they manage to stay afloat, reasonable prices and good portions.
J. F.
The place itself was very nice but the pizza was very soggy and sorry we didn't enjoy our meal. The pizzas are also very simple with only one or two toppings and it would have been nice to get some greens on top of a prosciutto pizza. Wish we had gone to pizza express instead.
M. N.
This restaurant simply has the best pizza in Soho. If you are thinking of ordering from the usual delivery chains and you're near Soho better check this place out as it is cheaper and so tasty. You can also try their amazing pasta dishes. Definitely worth it more than other chain restaurants in the area.
S. F.
My husband took me to this place 20 years ago when I first came to London and I love it as much now as I did then apart from the fact that they don't do zabaglione any more. I had to learn how to do it myself now!!!
The food is authentic the service unpretentious and friendly prices reasonable; I always bring people here when we're in the West end and fancy Italian. Highly recommend.
S. W.
The best pizza! You have to try it.
P. S.
The food we had was fine but we were devastated to discover it is now no longer the family-run business we have loved for years, but just another element in the La Porchetta chain. The menu has been streamlined to be merely like the many other pizza/pasta outlets everywhere. Staff are pleasant but indifferent as there's no personal interest like there was before.
The bar area is tatty with cardboard packaging blocking the already limited space for staff to prepare drinks; the disabled toilet is scruffy despite being used by kitchen and waiting staff and the piped music is unidentifiable amongst the overall level of ambient noise; quite impossible to enjoy a conversation....
When our plates were cleared we weren't offered dessert or coffee but suddenly presented with the bill because our waitress was finishing her shift! Very disappointing experience compared to what for so many years was a gem in the heart of theatreland.
R. H.
Amazing cheap food and traditional Italian atmosphere!
C. D.
Great atmosphere, amazing value, and amazing authentic food in healthy portions. Highly recommend the olive oil broccoli and chilli pasta. Sounds simple but all the ingredients are so quality and the flavourings are just right. It is always busy but still great service. Proper pizza oven, and Italian mostly waitor. Also amazing tiramissu in a great obig portion.. Perfect!! Surprisingly light and airy for a tiramissu. Recommended getting a mixed salad with your meal.
O. P. G.
Reasonably priced [for London] and delicious food, not to mention, generous portions to boot. Italian food in a fun, electric, yet cozy space, my seafood pasta was vibrant in flavour and cooked al dente, will revisit whenever I'm back in London!
J. P.
No-frills Italian food in a bustling part of Soho. This review is based on a late Saturday visit, around 11:00PM, but at a restaurant that’s open noon to midnight seven days a week, that shouldn’t much matter. The staff were very rude, not through direct interaction, but more the lack of it. They never did anything without asking. More water? Flag someone down. The olive oil we already asked for? Flag someone down. To be fair, the staff were too busy lounging at a back table to be paying attention, but their negligence wore thin. The pizza was fine, nothing special though very cheap (£6.60 on average for no-meat options). The restaurant itself was very dusty and decrepit looking. It’s the kind of place that gets by on clueless tourists looking for something familiar and doesn’t need to work very hard to earn it’s due. If you’re looking for pizza in Soho, go to Homeslice in nearby Seven Dials, or even Franco Manca (in Covent Garden) or Vapiano. You won’t regret it.
S. H.
Great food. Great prices
C. M.
Classic cheap Italian with charm and flavour in equal measure. This is what you want after pounding the pavement all day, great pizza and a simple but delicious menu and wine list. It's known for its pizzas and it is a locals favourite with loyal customers who keep coming back after 20 years. Fine dining it is not but you wouldn't want a pizza anywhere else.
C. H.
Brilliant pizza, best ever!!!!!! Fresh ingredients 🇮🇹🍕👌
L. C.
Food was wonderful.
Service was awful.
d. b.
Ok, but not what it was before La Porchetta took it over. Still very cheap and quite cheerful, but the huge menu of imaginative pasta dishes has gone in favour of a standard issue list of basic Italian pizza /pasta. The cheerful ladies who used to organise the chaos of thirty tables in a space designed for fifteen have also gone. The Bolognese sauce wasn't great - tasted like a mix of tomato puree and sea water- and the crespolini was burned. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh, but nostalgia is no longer on the menu here.
H. M.
Great pizza and excellent service. Such a laugh with the staff
S. C.
Lovely food amazing staff so lovely
R. B.
I can't recommend this place highly enough. I turned 30 yesterday and brought a very lively rabble to La Porchetta. The manager was incredibly welcoming - people arrived in dribs and drabs and everyone was offered a drink. As it was warm, he let them all mill around outside. We sat downstairs so as not to disturb the other guests. The house red and white were both extremely drinkable and very good value. The pizza was delicious and served promptly, despite the size of our group. The manager found a wandering group of banditos to serenade me over dessert and, when my best friend suggested he present me with a silly gift, he baked an...erm... unusual and hilarious shape for me out of pizza dough himself. I'm going back every week. Wonderful place to take groups, extremely good value for money and fantastic service.
W. P.
Good food, generous portions
P.
A must visit! Fabulous authentic food, generously sized portions, reasonable prices for the area and frankly in one of the most ‘fabulous’ areas of London. If you’re looking for real wholesome Italian food, check out this place.
C. H.
Very good place for lunch! We had two types of pasta and both were delicious, it was absolutely affordable and the service was nice and friendly. We didn't need to wait long for our dish and had a good lunch break in this small restaurant.
H. J. S.
La Porchetta Pollo is my favourite place in London for pizza. The place is always busy but you never have to wait for a table, it's as if one magically appears when you arrive. The pizzas here are huge and delicious and an absolute steal for somewhere so central - I highly recommend the Fiorentina.
V. D.
I'm italian, and this is my favourite pizzeria in London! I've been going there regularly - minimum once a week - since 3 years... it's like going to a family (:
S. N.
Excellent pizza, +/- £9.5, 10% surcharge
I didn't find lady Gaga and David Guetta very conducive to the atmosphere but otherwise great and casual dining
B. L.
I've frequented this lovely Italian for years and always liked it! It's no frills approach means it's the cheapest place for pasta in Soho. The pizza is fab!
L. G.
Food was "OK". Nothing memorable. Service was poor; had to remind them about our drinks and serving took long. The staff apologized and actually removed the bottle of wine and service fee from the bill.
m. c. s.
My favourite pizzeria in the heart of Soho.Super cheap prices, really good pizza and BIG as we like it in Italy
The staff is always polite and smiling, LOVE IT!!!Quirky, alternative as hell in its semplicity this is really one if the "hidden"gems
W. H.
Best pizza in Soho, and best I’ve had outside of Italy. Service is reasonably fast, and prices are very good value for central London. Would always recommend.
J. H.
Good grub. Very tasty, reasonably priced. Good vegetarian selection for an Italian. As in many Italian restaurants, staff were a little brusque but also really fast. Would go back.
R. T.
Delicious food at ridiculously low prices, especially for the West end. The house red is quite acceptable. I've tried the pizza, the calzone, the lasagne and some of the other pastas and they're all great.
B. S.
Great pizza and pasta, in VERY generous portions. Service was lovely as well! Enjoyed the meal!
M. F.
This place is a hidden gem in Soho. Inexpensive, large portions and very tasty food. This is a no-thrills place and quite frankly off the radar from the hipster crowd, which in my view is a great thing. It comes highly recommended.
T. D.
This is my best pizza in london. Without a doubt. With "cool" new places always coming along like voodoo rays or homeslice are just fad restaurants, and don't come close to pollo e porchetta. Love coming here, and will always recommend.
l. e.
This place is a no nonsense, super central Italian restaurant with ridiculously good value. £6.50 for a main course and one portion is basically like two anywhere else and deliscious. Carb focused of course but an ideal place to start a night out. Decent house red, friendly staff and lots of choice.
G. P.
Best place for Italian pizza in London. Very tasting and soft pizza, good value. The staff is Italian also. Very good quality!
C. S.
We were looking for a classic Italian restaurant serving good food at uninflated prices and we certainly got that!! Stunningly good pizza and pasta with obvious authenticity. No pretentious styling or gimmics..just great honest food.
A. P.
great price, superb pasta and pizza
D. L.
A Soho institution. A favourite haunt of Syd Barrett who used to while away hours playing Backgammon here. I have been eating at Pollo's for over 25 years and the prices have barely changed in all that time. A freshly cooked perfect pizza for £6.50 in the West End. My favourite restaurant in London.
M. J.
Amazing food with very friendly staff, loved it! :)
K. S.
Been going for 40 years whenever I'm in London and want a quick tasty Italian meal for a fair price. Never been let down.
K. S.
Popped in on a chance of a table for 2 - my daughter and I - lovely atmosphere:"the staff are happy here mum" and "it feels like home" - her comments - we were welcomed and very well fed - sorry we couldn't have stayed longer, will be back first chance we can :-) seafood tagli and spaghetti bol definitely recommended
J. B.
So glad to find this restaurant 20 years after our first visit. It was good then and didnt let us down on our second visit. Excellent food.
p. p.
Pizza & service is reasonable but how can they justify an increase of £6.75 to £8.31 overnight on an Americano?
Used to be a regular but won't be now!
A. M.
The food is very nice and the prices and waiters as well. It is well located, in central London, and the wait for a table used to be ok.
I like the vegetarian lasagna and the pizzas are amazing.
R. H.
Fantastic food. Handmade pizza and very good price. Portion size excellent. This is our favourite Italian in all of London.
N. W.
One of my favourites! Great value and atmosphere. A wonderful place to have a nice catch up with friends with a bottle of wine when you're hungry!
M. W.
This is a great place to eat authentic Italian in the heart of London at Great prices you will not be disappointed
G. A.
The best Italian pizzeria in London
G. M.
Bang for buck, me and my girl friend went there. As being big fans of Italian food, We found it quite a good place. If you don't wanna spend a fortune and still wanna get a good quality Italian.
s.
The waitress forgot to sent my command to the kitchen......I wait for my plate 45 minutes; to be forgiven, she told my drink would not be billed; she forgot to note it on her card; so I paid and was served very late; this is not serious
G.
Great value lovely food 😊
M. N.
Good price, huge quantity, nice staff, great location. It would be much better if they improve the decoration and furniture of the local, and if the coke/pepsi was from a can or bottle. But good experience in general.
M. Q.
Authentic Italian, right in the heart of the theatre district. Great spot for a pre-show dinner, best for two or even dining alone.
S. S.
I've been coming here since 2006. I love it. The Calzone pizza comes from heaven itself. Delicious, scrumptious. Highly recommended.
C. P.
Amazing pizzas and not at all expensive for what you get. A meal for 4 including 2 starters to share 4 pizzas and 2 deserts was less then £50.
M. K.
Very good food big portion, polite staff and very good prices.
Recommended for italian food lovers.
A. D.
Very nice place to eat friendly staff
J. M.
Amazing food for great price! Staff are friendly and welcoming and the food was to die for. Would definitely recommend!
G. D.
In the Soho 'district, you can eat in this tipically pizzeria and restaurant like an italian trattoria. The price is very cheap, in consideration of the location, the food in particularly pizza are important for La Porchetta , who is full everytime.
S. C.
Genuine Italian food, service and environment! Not too expensive either,if u dont mind sitting shoulder to shoulder with the next party! If visiting in the winter just make sure u are seated further inside as the door opening can bring quite a breeze.
F. C.
If you are looking for a good, economic and fast Italian restaurant, La Porchetta Pollo Bar is what you are looking for. Although the calzone is not the best, you have many other options. Whether is pizza or pasta, it will not disappoint you.
R. R.
Had an amazing Calzone. Mushroom, ham, pepperoni and loads of mozzarella. Service was good and quick. Price of the food was good to.
B. G.
Loved the quality of the food, the waiters were very friendly and helpful and the amount of food was amazingly big!!! I'm gonna come back for sure with friends
N. B.

M. P.
This Lovely Restaurant, with it's lovely welcoming staff is an oasis in terms of venue, service, food quality and VALUE. I doubt you'll find better value elsewhere in much of the UK, let alone the SE
K. M.
Delicious tagliatelle al salmone 🍝😍 🍴 Didn't look that much in terms of portion from first glance but actually there was a lot below it 😍 All pasta here is less than £8, defo my place to go in Soho for cheap pasta 😋
M. K.
Amazing food for great reasonable prices highly recommend.
K. H.
Great food, the friendliest owner and staff, cheap and cheerful. Love it here 💪💪
F. B.
If you're heading out in Soho and want to fill your belly grab a pizza from here. Good size, freshly made, super cheap for central London and open late!
L.
So traditional. The plates and the pizzas were also really big!!! 😍
S. M.

N. R.
Our favourite Italian restaurant in the heart of London. Fair prices, good portions and fantastic tastes!
L. B.
Quite simply the best Quattro Formaggi pizza I've ever tasted. Won't eat pizza anywhere else anymore. Cheap, cheerful and delicious.
C. P. G.
Incredible food with a really good price. However, the music they put on is awful and disturbingly loud (it is really hard to eat in peace there)
Λ. Δ.
Friendly environment, tasty food especially the pizza, good prices.. absolutely recommended!
A. A.
I absolutely loved the food. Have recommended to friends
K. S.
Great superfast service and authentic Italian. If the chefs had used separate gloves for vegetarian food it would be five stars from me!
S. T.
Lovely authentic Italian restaurant, lots of varieties to choose from and seriously; the tiramisu is amazingly tasty!
K. V.
Authentic Italian...good value...very tasty
A. M.

L. M.

N. N.
Totally lovely price for London’s restaurant, properly big portion with great flavour and helpful staffs!! What’s there not to revisit here!!
A. B.
Great food and wine, however the bottom floor had some a strong bad smell coming, assuming coming from the toilets, that wasn't pleasant. If I will go back, I will make sure I'm seated on the entrance floor.
L. V.
Def my fave place in London tp enjoy some pasta!
Have been so pleased with my seafood pasta once again and will come back!

J. O.
Great staff, reasonable prices, big portion, the pasta and lasagne are amazing
H. J.
The food is quite good here and cheap but with that you get an aged interior and slow service. However the important thing here is the food and that's to be commended.
L. T.
Great service. Healthy portions 😂
J. R.
Very busy, can be quite noisy and expect your mains within seconds of your starters! Great affordable food and pleasant staff make up for it though!
