As a frequent patron whose husband hails from Lamezia Terma in Italy, and after which this restaurant is named, I'm delighted to attest to the quality and authenticity of this amazing little establishment. Rustic and intimate with attentive staff who make you feel like visiting family, the food is exactly what you would expect it to taste like on the continent. Fresh ingredients, herbs and spices, an original and creative menu to suit all, whether it be a pasta dish or pizza,I promise you will have a memorable, Italian experience x

Myself, my dad and my little boy had the most wonderful lunch and today at Lamezia, a lovely family run restaurant with the most delicious food. They couldn’t have done more to ensure we felt comfortable and enjoyed our visit. I couldn’t recommend them more highly. Can’t wait to visit again.

What a great restaurant we came here after reading previous reviews on Google and we definitely were not disappointed. it is a family run business with authentic Italian food we also got to meet the family and it honestly feels like you're on holiday whilst in the restaurant. my one recommendation is to speak to your server and ask them what you want and how the dish comes because this is an authentic Italian restaurant the food is proper Italian. so if you like your pasta well done or al dente then it would be better to let them know how you would like it done. overall we had a great visit really friendly staff and would definitely go back if we were in the area thank you.

Incredible all round! Family run place means that everything is done with such love and purpose. Freshly made pasta and delicious pizza! They even have vegan mozzarella. My fave dish is the butternut squash tortellini and my partners is the pepperoni pizza. Can't wait to go back!

I was invited to try out the new menu additions at Lamezia. Maria recently took over the restaurant from her parents and has made some changes to update the offerings. The restaurant itself is a cosy family business with cute decorations and a distinctly Italian flair. The menu is, of course, heavy in pasta and pizza options. I tried the burrata starter, which was absolutely perfect, as well as the two new pizza crusts, turmeric and wheat & hemp. The turmeric crust is lightly yellow and has a very mild turmeric flavour, it went really well with the truffle and cheese toppings. The hemp crust has a more earthy taste and looks slightly greenish. It's definitely a more savoury crust, and combined with the toppings of the Fiorentina I ordered, it was absolutely delicious. Both crusts were perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, traditional thin Italian pizza at its best! I'd definitely recommend the hemp crust, it was very enjoyable and a little different to the usual fare. I also got to try a few bites of the filled gnocchi, and these were spectacular! Be aware that filled pasta dishes are usually a little smaller than other dishes, so it's not a huge portion, but the gnocchi were so delicious and melt-in-your-mouth soft! Everyone at the table absolutely loved these. Service was also very friendly and professional, the only thing that I wasn't impressed with was how long it took to cook the food. Our starters arrived quickly, but pizza and pasta took over half an hour after we were done with the starters, which indicates to me that the order wasn't processed until after our starters were done. This huge gap between starters and mains was a little annoying, but other than that it was a perfect evening!

Great generous cheese plate with homemade bread, some of the biggest olives I’ve had, and very tasty homemade pasta. Really enjoyed the ravioli with crab sauce, and the rigatoni with broccoli and anchovies. Had a great lunch here on my day off. Great post-lockdown experience!

I got bored of reviewing restaurants, but we were so pleasantly surprised by the truly fabulous food at this lovely place between Highbury and Holloway that I felt i had to write something. We chose a mix of menu and specials for starter, mains and desserts and everything was beautifully presented, but tasted even better. Tonarelli, pizza, tagliata & burrata, calamari, tiramisu, semi-freddo, all fabulous. Fresh ingredients, authentic flavours, traditional Italian dishes in a lovely ambience, great service and welcoming decor. After living in the area 25+ years, I wish I'd found it long ago. Thank you, we'll be back.

I came here with a small group from work last week and we were so impressed we brought the troops back today for the lunch time menu. £6 for a pizza/pasta and drink. Ingredients were beautiful and fresh, very tasty. The customer service has been excellent both times. We have recommended to other people in our building and will definitely be back again for more delicious lunches. Lamezia is a lovely family run restaurant and I have now lost count of the number of times I have eaten here.

We've always liked this friendly and cosy Italian restaurant from the few years we've known it but recently it has got even better. The fresh pasta is amazing. Other dishes look tempting too (and very good value) but I am always beguiled by the fresh pasta. It's a really friendly place and the decor is brigher and more stylish than it used to be. A great place for couple and families with children and older relatives alike. I'm so happy this restaurant is in my neighbourhood.

Update! Delighted to say, I did return. So now Maria's mum is back making the bread, to an old family recipe, it is absolutely delicious. If you enjoy good bread, definitely worth ordering. And thanks to Lamezia for responding in such a friendly way to feedback. Lunch of stuffed gnocchi (pesto) with tomato sauce was simple and very good. I suspect both the homemade pasta and the gnocchi are bought in, but that's fine when the quality is good. On the downside, the bread is very poor, ditto the parmesan. At nearly £16 (including service) for a bowl of gnocchi, it's a shame to serve poor quality parmigiana. And good bread is both widely available in London these days and fundamental to Italian food. Very nice, simple Calabrian house wine. Also good service. Sort out the bread and cheese & I'd love to come back.

My family and I enjoyed our meal here last night. Cosy atmosphere, great wines, reasonable prices - we ordered the special tagliatelli, lamezia pizza with Parma ham, my husband ordered a carbonara and I had the seafood pasta and my son had the meatballs, we tried each others dish and were all full of flavour! Will definitely be back also to try the desserts which all sounded delicious but we were too full to have anymore! Didn’t give a 5 star due to the wait for a table for 5 of us but it was worth the wait. The gentleman serving us also offered us limoncello on the house which was a nice touch. Thank you!

Amazing place! The pizza dough raises for at least 36 hours, making it so easy to digest. They have pizza toppings and pasta ingredients from Italy. This is a hidden gem in London, a family run restaurant with very good food and lovely people. Being in London for many years I sometimes miss a proper Italian meal especially pizza. Although you can now find many places offering decent pizza you don't often find the flavoursomeness of Italian ingredients... Looking from the outside you might not suspect this pizzeria is actually a little gem, me and my friends had probably the best pizza in town so far which it was also very easy to digest. Rosa, the owner is a sweet Italian lady who took the time to talk to us and answering to all our questions about their pizza. Definitely recommended.

The service was spot on, warm and friendly atmosphere the washroom was clean and fresh. The bill for 2 children and 1 adult was reasonably priced under £50. Small Italian family run restaurant. The owners are Italians. Cozy. Seats inside and outside. Restaurant looks and feels like one that you would expect to meet on a Mediterranean holiday. I've tried their pasta Carbonara and it was nice. They have high chairs for babies. No baby changing facilities. Small toilets (not possible to fit in with the buggy). Overall good place to have a meal with a toddler.

My family and I decided to try this Italian restaurant and the food was very authentic and tasteful. Especially the pizzas were delicious and the pasta tasted as good as they did when we went to Italy last year. The staff were very welcoming and made us feel at home, happy to have a brief chat with us and also, the amaro del capo, was divine which completed our wonderful dinner. They have a good selection of Italian red wine which we ordered. Thank you lamezia for being one of the only true, genuine, Italian cuisines in London. Other places we’ve been to, call themselves Italian and the owners and chefs have nothing Italian about them. This place will guarantee anyone very delicious Italian food. Will definitely be back again!
