Reviews of Locanda Locatelli
M. P.
Locatelli is situated in Marylebone at 5 min walk from the Marble Arch tube station (Central line).
The staff is gently and the services is amazing.
The quality of the dishes is remarkable and the drinks list is impressive.
Honest prices for a Michelin star restaurant.
Outstanding experience!
D. P.
Food was good, but i expected more innovation and a bit more care for some of the plates. We tried ravioli del plin: good and delicate. Pizzoccheri della Valtellina: good but too salty. Tagliata: very good, good quality meat! Faraona: completely without salt. As dessert we tried cannoli and we really like that. Wine was very good.
L. M.
It wasn't that bad. Just that they don't have a set menu, tasting menu and the ambience didn't feel lush. Even I don't feel enthusiastic writing a review about this restaurant.
BUT
Staff service was amazing, the food preparation was paced well and the food itself were of big portions.
I was probably rather bored. Perhaps because I had prepared so much beforehand what to order that I was a little too excited about it. Their menu on their website wasn't even visually appealing to begin with - just a bunch of letters.
So for antipasti, I had 'creamed salted cod, mixed beans, pork belly and cicerchia puree.' I was expecting an actual pork belly of the same measurement as in the photo but just thicker, with layers of skin, fat and meat, not a paper-thin bacon leaf. So misleading.
Their pasta, though, was an absolute heaven. So I had 'linguine with Cornish lobster, tomato, garlic and sweet chilli.' ICYMI, that seemingly empty red orange plate was the pasta but I forgot to take a photo - it was that good the smell had me really tempted! Since it wasn't a main, which you're supposed to add £5, I'm guessing that was the reason why there were only lobster 'bits' rather than actual lobster meat, perhaps a tail and/or claw.
For mains, I had roasted sea bream and bagna cauda. You can have the actual fish or have it deboned as in the photos. I didn't get to finish it because of the size but the complex flavours were an explosion in my mouth. I was expecting a saucer of bagna cauda on the side but I guess a drizzle on the plate was already enough.
For dessert, I was already weighing on having tiramisu or pistachio soufflé but on their separate truffle menu, their zabaione got me convinced to try and understand how fundamental each flake of white truffle was. The cute little petit fours in the background were taken home in an equally cute, signature LL box.
As I was sat facing the wall, for a suggestion, Giorgio should make his walls Instagram-friendly. And arriving at opening time, I must say, it didn't take long enough to fill the restaurant, considering I was really avoiding the suffocating crowd.

Excellent high quality Italian restaurant. Fully worthy of its Michelin star. The food was beautifully prepared, very fresh and tasty. The wine list was a pleasure to browse with an excellent broad range of Italian wines. The service was good and the general buzz felt just right. Excellent!
F. D. P.
Great experience. Attention to the customer and very good quality. Quite classic Italian cuisine with a modern touch. Excellent wine list with support of a very knowledgeable sommelier.
R. H.
A beautiful venue with a buzzing atmosphere. We started with breads, olive oil and grissini which were delicious. The pasta dishes were tasty but the Carne course (we had steak) was incredible.
c.
An amazing dining experience that does cost a lot, but I feel it is worth it. Fantastic food, warm and professional service, this is somewhere that we will return to when we have another very special occasion.
B.
Delicious food, good service, and a calm, quiet atmosphere. Vegetarian options available. Really enjoyed our lunch here!

Was first time into locanda emazing service and the dishes were excellent
We left so full
Thank you locanda Was absolutely fantastic 👏
M. M. A.
One of the best restaurant in London .
Food safety is their first priority and the way they serve it's amazing .. I did work there and found out kitchen is super clean.
D. L.
Fantastic restaurant. Great service from everyone and the food was top notch. I would certainly say you get value for money given the quality of the ingredients in the meal. I would highly recommend Lacanda Locatelli for special occasions or just to spoil yourself from time to time. Will be back there the next time I'm in town.
L. E.
Amazing experience from food, to ambience, to service, so far best restaurant i have eaten in a long time.. attention to details!
E. S.
We visited Locanda Locatelli yesterday for dinner. I can't find the words to describe this wonderful food experience. Every single detail was accurate. The waiters took care of us and the food was amazing 👏.
A lot of compliments to you guys and thank you so much.
N.
Great experience. Quality food and fine wines menu. I Couldn't just feel the michelin star!
Buzzing atmosphere, lots of waiting staff wandering around. To mention a good service by Stephanie and Alfredo.
D. R.
Delicious Italian food. Fine dining in the purest of senses - high quality ingredients and techniques
M. S.
Truly worth the Michelin stars! Outstanding quality of food! Staff are beyond friendly towards your needs!
J. C.
This longstanding Italian restaurant might not get the same fevered hype as the recent wave of upstarts, but there’s no substitute for years of refinement and quiet confidence. As tempting as it must’ve been, don’t stuff yourself with the excellent bread basket. Starters of two perfectly cooked pasta dishes and the freshest squid you can imagine. The mains were roasted sea bream, roasted fillet of pork, and a roasted grouse served rare as hens teeth. Absolutely stunning in their perfection. We skipped dessert as we were cutting a birthday cake; but I had little doubt that they would’ve been divine.
S. T.
Excellent!
Food, service, experience all great with added attention to all details. Fish is on the menu for those who follow GF diet along with other dishes that require little adjustments.
A. 1.
After days of searching trip advisor for the perfect restaurant, I Took my Italian girlfriend out for our 6 month anniversary to our first Michelin starred restaurant yesterday evening.
Every part of this dining experience was perfect and we will definitely be going there again until we try all items on the menu.
The Sicilian red prawn and courgette risotto was especially delicious, and the monkfish and Jon dory were the best fish we’ve ever tasted.
G. C.
Big fan of Masterchef Italy and its owner Giorgio Locatelli, I went here with my boyfriend for Valentine’s Day and we had an amazing experience. Authentic Fine Italian Food with a twist. Really recommend for a fine dining experience
S. D.
Staff was exceptional. The food was good quality and presentation. A 3-course meal was quite pricey (£360) for a party of 4 without wine or any other alcoholic beverages.
A. P.
We had nice meal here for our wedding anniversary but it really couldn’t justify a Michelin star. Sadly none of the dishes had that “makes your eyes close” factor which I would expect from such prestige (and prices). The atmosphere was a little flat but may have just been the time/day we chose. Mostly we left having had a good meal but a little underwhelmed.
M. R.
One of my favourite italian restaurants! A must whenever travelling to London: great service, quiet environment and very good food.
Everything, from the olive oil to the bread, to the pasta. Very recommendable!!
E. G.
Definitely an elegant and good quality restaurant, obviously not a cheap choice but worth the experience.
Staff super careful and a cozy yet elegant setting.
Quality of food is high and menu has a lot to choose from.
W. B.
Lovely food and service. Been a few times over several years and never disappointed. Not a cheap place to eat but you do get what you pay for; intense flavour, imagination and quality.
G. C.
My husband booked in advance to celebrate my B'day. Very lucky and happy that we could get a table for the same day.
The service was friendly, cordial, and efficient from the moment we stepped in. The menu was excellent: we had so many dishes to choose from. When we dicided that we would share the dishes switching them, the waitress had the lovely suggestion of bringing us an extra plate so we could really share.
The lovely Happy B'day dish with the candle at the end of our dinner was a lovely touch
o. e.
The service was truly exceptional, as was the food too. Even my wife which is the most picky person about their food that I've met enjoyed the fine Italian cuisine. The desserts were to die for!
a. m.
Wonderful Atmosphere, service on top.
The food nothing special normal Italian food
From Star Michelin aspect more.
R. “. M.
Friendly staffs, nice service. Great selection of bread, absolutely delicious! Pasta I ordered was on a salty side. Desserts are tasty.
S. B.
Wonderful place with extraordinary food. This Locanda is owned by the world famous chef Giorgio Locatelli. Everything was perfect.
C. G.
Enjoyed an amazing dinner here with friends. Everything about it was excellent, the food was delicious (especially the lobster linguine) with a good selection of wine. Service was very efficient and friendly. Would definitely return
C. B.
The food was exceptional. Service not usual Michelin level though - a little superior and snobby, especially the front desk staff.
P. T.
Nice clean place with caring staff.
Food and Wine very good.
I. V.
I thought that the dishes sounded and looked much better than they tasted unfortunately. I really liked the chestnut soup though. Dessert was a disappointed, with a coffee meringue that tasted strongly of synthetic coffee flavouring.
C. M.
We ate okay - everything was nice but far from being very good or exceptional. Given the price and the Michelin star I think it’s way overrated
B. T.
Amazing service and allways with a smile very graet dishes and tastes! For 4 people we took 2 starters 4 main and a bottle of champagne all for 400£..
R. O.
Food that is delicious! In a single bite, there are so many different flavours and textures. It's a nice place. Excellent ambiance and service.
A. _.
Very nice dinner. The highlight for us was the tagliatelle, simply the best we have ever had (and, we have tried a lot of tagliatelle, other than making them at home). The risotto with snails was also very good.
D. M.
Considering the name I would have expected a bit more waw factor. I have ordered
A small gnocchi portion and got a large, they told me they were charging me the small but they charge me the large. The truffle was not tasty at all. There was too much cream...possibly I have chosen the wrong dish. I expected more taste in it
S. F.
My boyfriend booked a table as a surprise for my birthday....it was a lovely experience...
The food was amazing!!
That’s what you call simplicity at its best!
The service was great our waitress Ashan ( I hope it s spelled right) was really nice, so attentive she made our dinner perfect!
The staff is really professional, everyone with the smile on their face.
We also met Chef Giorgio Locatelli, what a humble person, he was really nice and polite!
We will definitely came back!

We went to celebrate a birthday. We had to call the drinks waiter twice in order to order our drinks. The food overall was nice except one of the main risotto dishes was undercooked and had to be sent back. They took very long time between starters and the main course. We didn't mind as we were chilling with good wine. 15 minutes after the main course the waiters started to tell us that we had to leave soon and if we wanted desserts, we had to order even before the main course was finished. Remember we had to send back one of the dishes that was undercooked. When we protested they offered to take away the DISCRETIONARY service charge, which we wouldn't have paid in any case given the service we had received. When we mentioned Trust Pilot and asked for the manager's name suddenly we were offered complimentary desserts! We accept that 10 o'clock was government's deadline. But knowing that management should have been more efficient instead of almost pushing us out even before we had all finished main course. If you are looking for a chilled dinner evening, I am sure there must be many other places in central London than this restaurant at the prices they charge.
PS: I love extra garlic in my risotto, when I asked for it I was given 6 or 7 whole cloves of garlic! I pointed out that they needed to be crushed. They brought them back chopped!! I am sure any Italian restaurant cook would know that it either has to be garlic oil or crushed garlic to mix in a dish.
h. k.
elegant setting for italian food. i pretty much demolish the bread offering once it comes to the table with nice grassy olive oil. lobster pasta is the dish of the day here. very nice food.
B. B.
Was surprisingly dissapointed. The ideas of the menu looked good for reading but lacked flavour needed to lift each dish.
D. S. F.
One of the best places I've been here in London. Eating here is an experience you surely want to do.
S. G.
Spectacular service and Michelin Stars food
K. H.
I had today's special pasta for main, which was spaghetti with octopus being marinated with olives oil. It's fantastic!! All staff is friendly.
A. Y.
Very nice restaurant, good service and nice food
m. l. d. r.
Tortellini In broth dot are really tortellini, the risotto was poor and not correctly mantecate and was made only with a bisque
m. d.
Ambience very nice...food was not too bad...enjoyed the scrambled eggs...
R. Z.
Went here for my partner’s birthday together with her parents. The place has a fancy atmosphere, to the point of being a bit stuffy - which is often the case with Michelin starred restaurants - however, the thing that put me off a bit was that in the menu it said you can’t take photos... oh well, the food is worth it.
Other than that it was fantastic. The food was delicious, the service was excellent.
The truffle pasta changed my life. A dish so simple yet so deep with flavour. It’s a seasonal dish which the waiter recommended to us off the truffle menu. We were hesitant at first, but so glad we decided to go for it.
The mushroom pasta was also great, and is one of their signature dishes.
T. d. B.
Great three course menu, amazing papardelle and calf’s liver, here the tiramisu dessert!
K. M.
Delicious food, good value and our first time in a Michelin restaurant!
L. L.
One of our favourite places for dinner in London, highly recommend.
r. p.
What can you say, great food, great company, great service... Great night had by all
X. W.
A bit underwhelmed, the food was a 3.5, three appetisers were seasoned almost the same way. Mains were nothing special. Good service. No vibe
L. B.
Fantastic culinary experience. This is worth the money invested. I really love the overall atmosphere of the restaurants and the waiter/sommelier make you immediately very comfortable. The wine suggested was exceptional and the price reasonable for that quality. The food didn’t disappoint at all and my partner was served a complimentary set of sweet delights for his birthday, great attention. Highly recommend for a romantic evening or special occasion. Thanks to all the team!
K. C.
Great food and pleasing portions - often with Italian there's far too much on my plate! Locatelli served good sized light, tasty dishes. All our party enjoyed their meals and the service was pleasant too. The food is pricey but not over priced. The restaurant restrooms are shared with the lobby of the hotel so when you step outside the fine dining ambience is lost, being the reason I dropped a star.
D.
This restaurant is the real deal and deserves its Michelin star, not only for the excellence of the ingredients and the culinary expertise but the fact it does some real regional cooking such as pasta cime di rapa. Wonderful tiramisu and some great wines, at a price.
J. W.
Superb food. Great atmosphere. Expensive, but hard to argue with value given what you are brought and the manner in which it is served. Another recent reviewer complained that they had a lobster claw in their pasta dish - this was not a mistake by the restaurant, it is garnish for the dish.
M. S.
Incredible food, kept simple rather than pretentious with quality ingredients that really shines through in the dish. Staff were so friendly and attentive, a great evening had by all, especially nice to see Giorgio himself out mixing with the customers in between cooking!
s. H.
A group of six of us dined at the restaurant yesterday to celebrate my daughter’s wedding. The ambience was great and the seating arrangements were spacious. The food was absolutely out of this world and the staff courteously recommended the specials which we tried and enjoyed. The service was really amazing. We would dine there again.
A. G.
Without a doubt some of the finest pasta I’ve ever eaten and the quality of the food is magnificent.
K. R.
Food ok; service not Michelin worthy
Our waiter was spot in in helping us choose some tasty items; the sommelier also was very helpful in pairing a wine that complemented the food well. Overall the staff was very pleasant and seemed very knowledgeable.
Beyond that the service was amateur - the starters were brought out before we had even had one sip of our cocktails (the wine, which had already been ordered, was meant to be paired with the starters and the mains). When we were about halfway done with the starters they tried clearing the table. I asked if I could finish my starter and they said of course. About 3 minutes later they returned to inform me our mains were ready, and if we were still not ready for them, they could make the mains again once we were ready. Of course we said to bring the mains...but why is it my problem that the wait staff did not properly keep the kitchen informed of our pacing? Also - we informed our waiter at the outset we planned to share everything; at other fine dining establishments I have been to the kitchen goes the extra mile to split the dishes into two before they come out. This did not happen.
The food was fine; the service and overall experience were not what I expect at a Michelin-starred establishment.
D. C.
Best lobster linguine I've had in London!
V. S.
Tasty food
Nice environment
Friendly staff
C. M.
We did a set menu as we were large group in a private area in the restaurant. Every course was amazing. Especially the burrata and the venison. They had gluten free options. Truly special service too, staff had amazing attention to detail.
J. A.
It's a pretty amazing Italian restaurant! Forget your typical neighborhood Italian restaurant and embrace a proper fine dining in a modern setting. The food is traditional but very technical and well executed. Ask the dishes we had were extremely tasty, the wine selection is on par with the Michelin star the it has and overall is a great experience
A. V.
Quite expensive but food was nice. Limited menu especially if you like chicken.
The pasta was delicious and the potatoes are recommended.
The service was impeccable.
Romantic setting although tables are a little close together so hard to converse without a few looks from next door.
Would go back but need to work for a few months before I can afford it again.
M. M. I.
Fabulous Italian Restaurant! Wonderful food, presented beautifully and tastes amazing. The staff are really welcoming, and know the menu inside out and their recommendations were spot on. A relaxing atmosphere for an afternoon meal with friends. Italian cuisine at its finest!
M. W.
I have mixed feelings about it. Service, ambiance, menu, and ingredients are all superb! There’s plenty of staff to cater your needs, so much so that you would never have to wait for anything. Whether it’s for work meeting or romantic dinner, the ambiance is perfect. The menu is inventive with a good mix of traditional and contemporary ingredients. The bread and olive oil are simply top quality. But overcooked falling-apart pasta always ruin an Italian meal.
A. P.
The expectation was high due to the publicity around the chef. I had a starter, pasta, and cakes. The starter was the best part. The scallop with saffron was amazing. I had fettuccine (castagne e funghi), the taste was good but too much cream. I did not see/taste the art to have tasty foods without using a lot of fats. I had a small taste of the risotto (Barolo and Castelmagno) and it had no taste at all, it was just melted cheese on rice with a bitter taste at the end. I was disappointed. The cakes (cannoli and ricotta with strawberries) were ok but nothing that you will remember forever. The wine was very good a Nebbiolo from the Milan region, a good suggestion from the sommelier. The place is extremely nice for having a nice conversation with friends where great food and wine help you to relax. The staff was helpful, just one guy didn't have the touch to understand when it is the right moment to ask, he was always breaking the conversation which is not acceptable in top-class restaurants. I was expecting to come back home with more good memories of food, but I will only remember a great time with my friends, the scallop with saffron and the wine.
M.
Positive for atmosphere and staff service. staff were “99% italian”. outdoor terrace ruined by cars speeding and ambulances.
food was well proportioned but not the best in london. worth a visit once.
O. S. C. O.
Amazing food and great service!
Loved the risotto. That was very special.
This is also one of the few places where you can find a good Franciacorta 🥂🍾
Grazie mille Team ❣️
M. G.
I have mixed views and I don't want seem ungrateful as this was charity event that I attended. It's is a very nice venue with great staff and the owner is very generous and very pleasant. This wasn't a normal evening out and all of the food for everyone had to be done at the same time which is no easy feat, but was done well. The food however was nice but average which was disappointing.
A. K.
Ok, this place is just fabulous! If you like to taste a really delicious Italian food, it is the right place! Gluten free almost anything and some adjustments to the dish if you ask. The service, atmosphere and the food was great. Best enjoyed in a family circle. Honestly, I don't even remember interior design, because it is all about the food and the company you are in, enjoy!
L. R.
Absolutely worth it. Very inviting setting, our party of 6 had a very cozy intimate table amongst what looked to be numerous other cozy, intimate tables (i.e. there didn't look to be a bad table in the place). The service was very attentive, unobtrusive and self assured. The food was delightful, there were only positive remarks from the group for the array of dishes we tried. The wine list was extensive and satisfied a range of tastes and price points. We all agreed it was incredibly reasonable priced given the quality of the food, service and setting. I will happily go back and would recommend it strongly to others.
L. W.
Venue and ambiance were nice. Service was excellent. We ordered 2 starters: the porchini mushroom salad and the grilled stuffed squid and both were delicious. We ordered pasta entrees and ordered the osobuco ravioli and the shrimp and tomato sauce pasta and both were okay. The osobuco ravioli was overly lemon zested and a bit overly salty but was still generally good. And the shrimp tomato sauce pasta had a delicious sauce and even though the server warned me about it being really al dente due to the type of pasta used, it was still too much for me. The coffee gelato was good. Wine was good. Overall, I expected a lot more for a Michelin star restaurant and given the prices and that we paid 166 pounds for two ppl with a bottle of wine I would not return. I am quite picky and it just wasn’t worth it.
T. C.
Top quality Ingredients! Calamarata is simply amazing! The lemon gives it a kick that you definitely won't forget! Chocolate soufflé makes you dreaming!
K. T.
If you want an all around excellent dining experience, Locanda Locatelli is a contender. Definitely not a budget option, but you get what you pay for. We left here around midnight on a Friday just as they were closing after a looooong and enjoyable dinner. Great wines and a special mention to the chef for octopus cooked to perfection.
A. C.
One of my favourite Italian restaurants in town. Home-made pastas, delicious breads with olive oil on the house, mains that never disappointed me - the food here is great. And the price is actually honest considering the level. Service is top, they make sure your glass is always filled with water or wine, although the atmosphere can feel "stiff" at times. Complimentary cookies will come with the end of be meal, so be aware when ordaining a tiramisú each!
S. A.
Great bread selection. The cocktails they recommended was alright. The spaghetti with langoustine was exceptional but the other pasta dishes were alright (nothing great). We also ordered scallops which was alright.
P. J.
Lovely food and wine for a lunchtime business meeting and, yes, I certainly agree they have great breads. However whilst the menu offers some delicious and off the beaten track combinations it is slightly limited in options. Having said that one diner in our party asked for a simple pasta dish off menu and it was rapidly prepared and served.
R. L. M.
Very nice ambience
The food is very good and is not too expensive. It follows the italian traditions.
Large variety of wine choices.
Staff is attentive and well trained.
Will be back.
R. M.
Great atmosphere, uniformed & professional service, busy but intimate, filled with very soft light. The food here, not to mention the wine list, is outstanding as always and the portions are quite generous. It’s impressing how they can put the simplest ingredients and making them taste divine! Probably the London’s top Italian.
R. J.
One of the best Italian restaurant outside Italy. Fresh perfectly cooked food, excellent award winning wine list, served by caring staff on a soft ambiance. At walking distance from Oxford Street and Marble Arch.
M. G.
Amazing experience in one of the most beautiful restaurants you can find in London.
It's not about the view or the location itself, it's all about the simplicity and how you can see and feel that every single course is cooked with love. The service is attentive and engaging, and the food is absolutely wonderful. Highly recommended are the scallops, the maltagliati and the rabbit with polenta, as they really express the deepest italian culinary tradition, and made me remind of my roots in a very emotional way.
Z. L. T.
A fine Italian restaurant with good service. The starters were very well made (anchovies and chicory salad & sausage wrapped in salad). The quality of the meat was very good: you could taste the difference. Both the chicken and beef were well done and flavourful. The desert menu was varied and is the weak spot of this great restaurant. The bill was worth it, though the automatic addition of the gratuity at 12.5% was a sleight of hand that lowballed what the tip could have been. The seating arrangements where couples were seated on perpendicular chairs could have been better. Overall a great experience.
K. M.
The food was good, but not great, a 3 out of 5 stars. I expected much more from the reviews I read and the reputation of the Chef. The Hostess was great, but our server was no so much. He was far from personable and payed little attention to our table. We waited too long between courses, wondering if he had forgotten about us. I had to get his attention several times, which is something I seldom do. I asked for a Sambuca with dessert and he just looked at me, so I repeated it and he asked "what is that...."? I later looked at their very extensive drink menu and there were two different Sambuca selections. I'm thinking he was a new server, however at those prices, one would expect more. Because of the managing staff, 4 stars overall.
f. b.
We have been there today. Food is on top quality but cooked too 'heavy', too savoury and oily, more common for restaurant of medium or low level, for sure you don't expect from Locatelli. Not the best italian restaurant i have been. A bit disappointed
G. C.
Delicious food! Great service!
K. A.
We enjoyed every bite of their delicious food. The service is excellent, sommelier is particularly good. We loved his pairing recommendations. Atmosphere is elegant and comfortable.
V. P.
Very formal place so try to go here with work. I work close by and have been here a few times. I have never picked up the bill, but if I did I don't think I would have enjoyed it. You don't really need to pay too much for Italian food as the stuff is just so good anyway. And this place is very formal. The food has always been good, except the last time I went when the pasta was overcooked.
S. S.
I have mixed feelings about it.
I found the staff friendly and attentive but the menu was a bit of a joke. All very simple dishes that you can find in any avarage taverna in italy, just in the centre of London and in a fancy place, and therefore overpriced.
My favourite thing was the bread with incredibile olive oil.
I got fish dishes which were very good, but my boyfriend got meat which I found avarage.
Also, the couple next to us was way too drunk. A married man with his Mistress. We know because they started fighting out loud and I really think someone should have told them to keep it down.
I'd say that you pay location, atmosphere and the star but not for an incredible food experience.
On the end note, we were both sick with our stomach when we came back home!
A. D.
I had an amazing dinner last night. I tasted perfect Autumn salad in combination with red wine. The service and qualified staff truly impressed me. I will definitely book a table for some special occasion.
X. P.
My favourite Italian restaurant in London.
B. R.
Delicious food, but with large pricetag. I frankly found the surroundings a bit overbearing - Locanda Locatelli is comfortable only in the way that a posh hotel with over-attentive staff is comfortable. It all felt a little pretentious, and I wouldn't go back. The food was good, but not as superb as it would have to be to justify the price, in my mind.
S. G.
I absolutely loved Locanda Locatelli. It was a little piece of Italy right here in London. The food was excellent and the service was unprecedented. Unfortunately due to a late train we arrived 20 minutes late for our reservation, which was right around closing time. The staff was very understanding, and the food was delicious. Pasta was very authentic! Ambience was formal. All the food was wonderful!
E. H.
One of my favourites. An old school (2000s) smart restaurant. The service is fantastic and the food is always great. A fantastic wine list too.
L. S.
It's been a long time favourite - love the atmosphere and service is impeccable. However on the last two visits the food was a little let down - the portions were too small and the menu vEry repetitive (similar ingredients with not much choice in between). Felt disappointed by my pasta choices both times which was a first. Missing old times at lovely Locanda
P. S.
Best Italian food in London, high quality worth the price. Definitely recommend visiting this beautiful restaurant.
C. H.
Food is nice, but far too overpriced for what it is. Been twice. Waiters put on their thickest Italian accent, trying to be authentic, ending up being barely understood and sounding silly.
It has an entertaining factor but becomes a little over the top after a while.
I. H.
Amazing food, great service, covid safe
M. D. M.
Firstly, I love this place, location, staff, wine, food and ambiance.
Got to be one of the best restaurants in london.

Best lasagna I've ever had. It was a little pricy but definitely worth it. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the used ingredients and spices were fresh and I could already smell it from the kitchen door when it was coming to me. Bravo to the chef.
H.
Food and service was amazing. Really enjoyed our evening.
T. C.
Very reasonably priced for a Michelin star restaurant in central London. It's a warm intimate environment with small but cosy tables where you can chat with friends. The food was superb. Highly recommend.
B. B.
Amazing Italian food, the special of mushroom tagliatelle was one of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had and strongly suggest you order it if available. Service was a bit slow but did not take anything away from the food and wine.
J. G.
Having watched Giorgio on the telly with Andrew Graham-Dixon I was keen to try out the reputedly 'hearty', 'original' Italian dishes cooked to genuine Italian standards. I hate to say it, because the service was excellent and the wines, the sommelier's suggestion, were delicious. But the food was a huge let down. Proper Michelin style, perfectly presented and perfectly cooked food with all of the 'vulgar' flavour extracted. My rabbit's leg was tender and perfectly cooked but tasted of nothing except the pancetta in which it had been wrapped. My partner's 'charcoal grilled' steak also tasted of nothing much, as though it had been cooked sous vide and finished far too quickly in a pan. The pasta was good but nothing special. Having eaten in a couple of non-Michelin family restaurants in Rome two weeks ago this was a crushing disappointment. It is really Italian 'inspired' standard Michelin, completely unmemorable, anglicised food. Lucky old Andrew Graham-Dixon: he got to eat all the genuine stuff.
D. C.
Truly the best place in town. I love Italian food but I'm not talking in terms of a slice of street pizza. The restaurant offers classy atmosphere and amazing food. I love it, there's really not much to say.
M. C.
Impeccable services, average food. Over rated, over priced, over pretentious. Scallop ravioli was okay. Not much else to say, spend your money elsewhere. Full of wealthy Arabians who don't know the first thing about Italian food.
A. C.
five-star welcome, elegant, polite, professional and friendly staff. Excellent cuisine, fabulous dishes.
s. b.
Great service & marvelous food. Go for it🎆
S. C.
This would be kind of an average Italian restaurant in Italy. Much "Englishised" like many other Italian restaurants. To avoid if you're looking for a truly Italian experience, to go for, otherwise if you're looking for not bad, highly priced, Italian-inspired meals with good service and nice location you might find it nice.
E. T.
I simply like their dishes. I always get excellent customer service here. The place is well kept and the cashiers are always friendly. Highly recommended.
L. R.
The italian food is amazing and I'm not talking about pizza and pasta. I mean the real italian food. This restaurant is classy and delivers great atmosphere. It is perfect for business lunch and also for family dinner. Oh and one advise book a table before you go there.
J. D.
Great classy atmosphere, delicious italian cuisine. You have to end with a tiramisu - it's perfection in a glass. You might want to order two actually.
F. S.
Excellent! Splendid evening. Pricey, yes...but amazing, honest dishes...wide wine selection with a well versed sommelier to help, if need be. Outstanding cheese selection...
Well worth the visit...
M. T.
Flawless food and fantastic service but at such a ridiculous price I can't find a way to feel good about it afterwards. Maybe it's also because I feel Italian food should be rustic, cheap and dirty so the clash was felt more strongly.
Go if someone else is paying...
J. G.
Being a foodie from New York City - most restaurants outside of the city tend to not impress, however Loconda Locatelli was absolutely delicious! We had 10:45 pm reservations, which meant we were one of the last people in the restaurant, however service was impeccable!
Now on to the food!
For appetizers, we had the burratta dish - which was the freshest, softest mozzarella I've ever had. We also had the summer salad as well as the green bean salad with shaved truffles - delish!
For Dinner - I had the special - which was homemade spaghetti noodles in a red sauce with TUNA MEATBALLS. The tuna was cooked just right, so as not to be too overcooked or too raw - the pasta was perfectly al dente and the sauce had a bit of a kick to it, so it was a nice and a tad spicy.
My dining mates had the burratta ravioli (delish!), another pasta with red sauce and ricotta cheese and the lamb. All divine!
For dessert we had the cannoli with pistachio ice cream (really good!), and the watermelen jelly/sorbet - which wasn't really for me but it was interesting nonetheless.
It happened to be my b'day - and the waiters brought by macaroon cookies with a candle, as well as homemade marshmallows and choocolate truffles.
The bill overall was quite reasonable for the fact that we were in such a nice restaurant - with the meal coming to about £160 - not bad!
so good - i recommend you go if you like high end/real italian fare! just make sure to make a reservation
J. G.
Easily the best pasta dishes in the UK! always interesting specials and great creativity with the desserts. Hats off to this exceptional chef!
S. S.
Excellent food with real authentic Italian flavor. Everything from appetizers to dinner was superb. Waitstaff was attentive and very nice. Highly recommended if you are visiting London.
T. G.
High end italian food, its not easy to get a reservation ( try to book month plus ahead) the food is typical italian, not too showy , just the right ingredients in the right combinations. Quality staff serving quality food
C. B.
Simply the best restaurant in London.
O. F.
Went there for the second time last night and it was just as good as the first time. The food is good, fresh and cooked fast. Great little place, and if you go early enough you'll most likely have the place to yourselves. I'd definitely recommend this place.
C. W.
Nice restaurants with lots of affection and appeal going on. The interior design is modest, yet succeeds in bringing the atmosphere of the place to a higher level. Food is good and delicious and is always worth it to visit.
A. C.
I like the interior, it is elegant, but also quite cosy. With my husband, we usually go there on Friday - around 7pm. The restaurant is open till 23:30, so we have enough time to order and enjoy both main course and a dessert.
I usually order the "Cheesecake alla vaniglia, gelatina alla violetta, sorbetto alla fragola", because one of my favourite types of desserts is the cheesecake.
L. D.
Great environment. Great staff. Great cuisine. THE BEST ITALIAN IN LONDON! Ingredients straight from different regions of Italy. Organic and detailed. ZE BEST
D. P.
Amazing dining experience for a special occasion!
M. T.
We had a lovely time for my birthday! The staff were very attentive and the food was first class! I highly recommend the Lobster linguine!
A. M. F.
Super nice Italian restaurant. Great service and great bread (they were ok for us to take it as take away). Loved their daily special - duck ragout parpadelle.
C. C.
One Michelin star for this place. Very authentic Italian food. A little pricey. You can charge it to your room at The Hyatt Churchill.
O. H.
Food was good, but not excellent
C. M.
Still a nice decent Italian restaurant, back in the days used to be one of my fav in London, but now it seems that it adapted to much on the English way of cooking food ... lost a bit of authenticity
M. P.
Good ambiance, service and food. Wine mark ups seemed rather high!
A. A.
Convivial and classy. Delicious scallops, chocolate dessert and a knowledgeable sommelier.
Waiting team and front of house were full of charm. Thank you!
K. B.
Fantastic food! Best Italian in London. Not cheap but well worth every penny.
R. F.
This is one of the most expensive restaurants I have been to and I've only had the pleasure of going there once, but it was the most flawless restaurant experience I have ever had.
If you feel it is in your price-range then you must absolutely go there.
V. D.
Great memories of ten years ago. Not so inspirational on the last visit, however service still good. Food needs a bit of oomph.
L. L.
Exceptional Truffle dinner!
S. S.
We were late and coming from the Highlands of Scotland we appreciated the warm and relaxing reception we received. Food was as if mamma Locatelli was in the kitchen. Graziie avoid. Xx
D. R.
Absolutely superb! Delicious, authentic Italian cuisine. Lovely ambiance, elegant, comfortable interior. Great service.
A. F.
Tasty food. Brilliant service
R. G.
The best Fior di Zucca i ever had in London! Good selection of wine and food. Friendly staff
N. B.
This was a long awaited dream for me as I have been a massive ran of georgios for years and years. What a treat! My husband and I booked for our anniversary and I was a bit worried that the meal might not be as special as I hoped as we are lucky enough to have had some fantastic meals in Italy.I should have known better-the whole experience was fantastic, amazing.friendly service and a really chilled atmosphere, was just like a posh restaurant in Italy and we could have sat there all day!Hopefully we'll make it back soon.
J. K.
Quite literally the best pasta I've ever had outside of Italy. Had wanted to try this place for a long time and was not disappointed. Amazing food.
S. W.
The finest Italian in town by a mile!
M. D. C.
Absolutely delicious, Italian food at it's best. Great location, top service, perfect dinner.
S. H.
Disappointed-I thought the food was good but nothing special-ordered 2 glasses of red wine -should have checked the price but don't normally feel that is neccessay-£25 a glass......oh and for some reason they added a £1 charge to charity....won't return there are many far better restaurants in London
J. M.
Had the White truffle menu: wonderful experience. The service, always outstanding
A. I.
The food was simply perfect, Vincenzo, the sommelier was great, the chef Giorgio was very humble and superb
R. R.
Quality Michelin star food, with a great atmosphere and knowledgeable staff. Rubbing shoulders with a celebrity or two adds to the experience.
A. J. B.
Brilliant Michelin star restaurant. Great service and divine food. A must visit. Make reservations in advance as it is often full!
R. M.
Best italian restaurant I have found in London. Great people. Great food. Great wine.
K. R.
Amazing italian food. Even the bread is worth the visit. Service and place are amazing as well
유.
Very good food and dessert but prefer what I had at Zafferano, which is partly attributable to my choices perhaps. Would try again though.
m.
Food was very good, portions were exactly the right size. Very good wine selection.
m. g.
Always liked it here. Good for a group or couple. Privacy and excellent food. Good wine by the glass.
J. P.
Really lovely time, with family, food was delicious and the service was very good too, would definitely recommend 👌
M. W.
The lady that greeted us was as cold as ice and quite rude. Other staff were friendly and the food & wine were very good.
A. G.
Exquisite italian restaurant. Pls book in advance for dinner. Lunch a bit easier. Wine list is well balanced
J. G.
Staff really nice and service was great. However the food was really poor and over rated and not worth the money., however the char grilled squid was delicious. Atmosphere was also a bit dull. Wouldn't go back.
M. M.
Great service and quality. It's an experience worth the price.
A. R.
The wooden furniture creates cosy atmosphere. I like eating there and enjoying the calm, pleasant dining experience.
D. C.
Lovely lovely dinner.
Delicious food.
Excellent service.
Great wine list.
D. M.
Fantastic Italian cooking and friendly knowledgeable service. The sommelier is extremely helpful and is spot on with his descriptions of the wine
L. E.
Got a table for lunch without booking. Had the goat special, which was excellent. The olive oil was of excellent quality.
H. P.
It's my favourite restaurant in London. Great service, acceptable prices and friendly staff and nice atmosphere!
M. F.
Came with a colleague for a work lunch. Expensive food but quality was mediocre. Service was good but strange. Would not recommend.

M. I.
Very good Italian restaurant à great experience with a very nice wine list. Highly recommended
S. R.
Not quite as good as what you would expect from a Michelin star restaurant. However the quail alone made it worth the trip
P. K.
Excellent service! Really outstanding but food wasn't as good as I expected for this price.
F. D.

P. V.

L. G.
Beautiful place, really good dishes, paied less than supposed, good service, 100% approved
V. F.
The setting, the service and the food are excellent. Had the ox tongue and it was delicious
I. Y.
innovative cuisine that is hit or miss it is pricey and offers curiously frosty service for an italian restaurant. the place seems largely devoid of soul.
J. B.
Super cool restaurant

i. k.
Good service, generous portions, but the food was lacking that wow factor I was expecting
N. S.
Great food and wine selection! Stick to the pasta dishes...
K. C.
Their main courses are out of this world. Service is a bit on the slow side, but I think that's intentional and not the result of understaffing.
A. D.
Fantastic food in this very relax envy
W. H. L.
Food's great, some staff are not very switched on or attentive
J. A.
Ok, I have been to better quality Italian restaurants at cheaper prices. The veal was very average

Have you ever watched Ratatouille movie? The rabbit leg with polenta triggered that flashback bringing me back to childhood memories, nonna's Sunday rabbit with the whole family. Food gifting emotions.
Surprisingly generous portions. Great atmosphere, service and food. Welcoming, kind and smiling face at the reception going the extra mile to make customers happy.
R. B.
Food was hit and miss. Some dishes were outstanding but some were not cooked to order and parts of some dishes were missing.
I am sorry to report that the service was uneven. Initially dismissive and unfriendly, occasionally excellent but overall the waiters seemed disinterested. As a result the experience was spoiled and although this was our third trip it is likely to be our last.
M. P.
amazing experience wonderful atmosphere chef Locatelli is a must
M. R.
(Translated) Well furnished and all in all pleasant. My girlfriend did not like the closeness between the tables and the fact that the atmosphere is not intimate, which did not bother me particularly, as the shouting actually reminds me of an inn. As for the food, very good but not "special" first courses, the portions in the picture are larger for the extra 5 pounds. Sore point, the partridge is almost impossible to cut and also unpleasant for the taste. Tasty dessert and generally very attentive service. The 3 stars not only for the partridge but also for the "service charge" of 13% .. The customer is not specified that it is not mandatory, if I had known I would not have paid it, since the main and most expensive course was almost inedible for a starred restaurant. Salty bill, but we are in London, in Italy you would pay half by eating better.
(Original)
Locale ben arredato e tutto sommato piacevole. Dolce gustoso e servizio in generale molto attento.
M. R.
(Translated) Once in a lifetime experience, definitely one of the best places in London to eat.
Everything was perfect and the (very high) expectations were met.
(Original)
A. A. A.
(Translated) Nice place and excellent staff. The menu is too simple for me to be a starred restaurant. The starter was a disappointment. Burrata with pumpkin and hazelnuts: that's how it arrived, but then I can also prepare it at my house. Excellent or ravioli with a crazy sauce, and so is the roast partridge. The dessert was starred. An exceptional lemon cream served as it should be for that level. Almost cheap prices for the place.
(Original)

(Translated) The place is very nice, even if some tables are a little too close together. The welcome is warm, the equipment is elegant, but it has some flaws (there are no saucers for bread). The food is really very good: delicious mushroom dumplings and squid stuffed with garlic bread, as well as the plaice in a basil crust and the roasted partridge. Excellent fried courgettes. The bunet is good, the inn cassata is truly delicious. All portions are really generous. What leaves a little disappointed is the service: the dishes are not served if a table is missing at the table ... The little waiters are very kind, but they don't remember the presentation of the dishes well. Ah, at the end of the meal we "peeked" into the neighbors' table: those you serve as tortellini seemed to be closed like cappelletti ... (we are from Bologna). In two, drinking only water, we spent 154 pounds: good value for money.
(Original)

(Translated) My friend and I went to Locanda Locatelli last night, a beautiful venue! Welcoming and intimate, kind, professional and attentive staff to every customer need without ever being intrusive. We especially thank Vincenzo, a member of the staff, for his availability and sympathy.
Excellent dinner and prices online given the well-deserved Michelin star!
We had the pleasure of meeting the chef Giorgio Locatelli who with extreme kindness allowed us to access his kitchen😊
Really exquisite chef and person!
We recommend everyone to have this experience at Locanda Locatelli!

(Translated) Really lovely and welcoming location.
The pappardelle with venison ragu with Colombian cocoa really good, not to mention the pumpkin malfatti (really spatial).
How seconds, the medallion of venison and partridge with chestnuts and grapes were both spectacular. Fantastic the lemon cream. Good service, you feel like you are in Italy. What: Starry dinner.
(Original)
Location davvero incantevole e accogliente.

(Translated) To be a starred restaurant (even if only a star), maybe you expect something more. The restaurant is very nice and elegant, in a nice district of London, adjacent and connected to the Hyatt The Churchill hotel. The service is really impeccable, the guys are all very kind and professional, same goes for the maitre and the sommelier, really good! As soon as they arrive, they make us sit and immediately bring us water and bread (good selection, shame about the absence of the saucer of bread). As an appetizer we take some really good saffron saffron scallops and a salad of artichokes, shallots and parmigiano reggiano also this really good. The first ones did not amaze me; linguini with scampi who knew a lot about tomato (the taste of shrimps was almost completely covered by tomato) and gnocchi with mushrooms and potatoes with black truffles (the truffle was almost tasteless and did not stand out in the plate). How sweet a Bunet (good ... nothing to say) and a tiramisu (perhaps the most normal dish ... good, but in Italy so made and served you pull them back in the restaurant). To drink a Ca 'del bosco (recommended by the sommelier I thank). Good also the pastry accompanying coffee ... except the non-fragrant chatter. The price is right considering the fact that it is a starred restaurant. In the end we would have liked to know even for a minute the chef (who is known not only for his kitchen), but was too busy .................: ))) I understand and thank him anyway with all his super staff for the pleasant experience.

(Translated) Starred restaurant of Italian cuisine, home of the famous chef Giorgio Locatelli. From the outside, as often happens with high-level venues, it appears anonymous. Inside cured with soft lighting. Italian Very helpful and informative. Varied menu with the presence of sea and land dishes, with interesting mixtures. Prices not excessive considering the quality (in three: aperitif, shared appetizer, a first course - main course then a large but price portion - a dessert, a glass of wine 70 pounds each). Definitely a nice place for a special meal.

(Translated) At the height of fame. First time here with my wife. Often in London but we never came. Local nice but dated, in my opinion, in the furnishings. Excellent reception, efficient and effective service. We come to the food: ravioli al plin, gnocchi, mushrooms and potatoes with black truffles, cappellacci with sweet cream and lemon flavored with pork sauce. We wanted to have dinner with the first ones. Excellent. Appetizing. Top ingredients and exalted Talian tradition. The cappellacci, with the filling invention of Locatelli, can grate in contrast on the paper (sweet cream and lemon) with the meat sauce, but they are top.

All'altezza della fama. Eccellenti. Appaganti. Ingredienti top e tradizione taliana esaltata.

(Translated) It exceeded expectations. We live in the UK but we specifically went to London to eat at Locanda Locatelli. It was a gift for my husband, Giorgio's fan, for our anniversary. As soon as we arrive outside, his wife welcomes us, a very sweet lady. And we see Giorgio inside the room. He notices our inevitable amazement at seeing him and comes out to greet us and talk to us. As if nothing had happened. I was stunned by his humility and professionalism. He opened the door to the club for us to enter. We were about to have a heart attack with joy. We have always loved Giorgio but it seemed impossible to see him at the club and even talk to him. Instead it went like this. It is very friendly as we say in the UK. In speaking we told him that we were in London specifically just to eat at his place and celebrate our anniversary. And he made us send the dessert at the end of the dinner with a dedication on it, wishing us a happy anniversary. Of course I cried with joy! GIORGIO YOU ARE A GREAT, you gave us something that not even 10 Michelin stars give. That is a happy time with my husband. And we are grateful to you. That gesture was truly a magical thing that ended our evening in style. And then the obviously amazing dishes, nothing to say! Attentive and professional service. Nice team! Good team! Clean, elegant place, soft lighting which I loved, quiet place. In short, unique! THANK YOU from my husband and me.

(Translated) Fantastic dinner.
We were greeted with an excellent welcome cocktail, followed by homemade breadsticks and a selection of buns and breads.
The appetizers are fantastic, probably the quail was the best thing eaten in my whole life.
Among the main courses, the liver is served with balsamic vinegar reduction.
How sweet I recommend the dark coconut and white chocolate, a great way to end a memorable dinner.
We were also offered a selection of their mignon pastry.
Service of 10 and praise, friendly but also informal if necessary.
The waiters are well prepared and know how to give detail information on each dish.

Cena fantastica.

(Translated) THE LACK OF A "WOW" - There were 3 of us at dinner, the cuisine was very good with fresh ingredients and Italian provenance. We expected more with regards to the choice of dishes and their taste.
Let's be clear, we cleaned up the dishes but lacked the surprise in the presentation and the "wow" when we tasted them. Nothing astonishing, from the top step one would expect from a starred restaurant.
Art, creativity ...
It can be superlative for customers not accustomed to Mediterranean cuisine but for us Italians ...
A note on the staff: an army, a constant coming and going throughout the room. This causes customers to be constantly distracted. Too intrusive: kindness and attention to the customer is fine but coming to the table every 5 minutes to ask questions or to pour water into the glasses (in a while I was hiding the bottle, I swear!) Does not facilitate intimacy and privacy (other than turning off cell phones). For this reason I don't feel like recommending it to couples who want an intimate dinner, as they will risk talking more with the staff than with the partner.
Moral: be indiscreet and show up a little at the tables otherwise for customers it will be anxiety, stress and an electric chair.
We have played down but we have not come out really satisfied.
Prices I would say in line given the famous Stella, the city and the status
PS: the green bean appetizer is what we liked the most
(Original)
