Reviews of Locanda Ottoemezzo
M. W. O.
A beautiful, outstanding, delicious place to eat. Ran by people who are true with what is available and understand ll you need to know to ensure each visit is unique and fulfilling. The food is varied and all on offer has a miraculous taste. Drinks are plentiful whatever you choose and the service in no way can be faltered. This is a restaurant I look forward to coming back to many more times, indefinitely!
B. D.
Excellent service. Ordered the 'signature' dishes and they were very good. Lovely, cosy restaurant. Recommended.
P. S.
Very fancy place! It's very atmospheric place. Food was great! Wi-fi isn't working at underground floor
R.
Without question, simply the best Italian restaurant in London. The food is out of this world - simple, with carefully selected ingredients. The wine list is superb. Service is impeccable. Prices are balanced and fair.
I have been blessed to know Emidio and Francesco for over a decade now, and am grateful to them for providing a piece of Italy, and a space that feels like home 🙏🏼

Cute little place of the beaten track . Great starter of beef carpaccio with black Truffel. Beef sliced thin and fresh fragrant Truffel. Delicious
Main was sadly served cold and asked for it to be reheated. tiramisu more cream than anything else. I would return for the beef carpaccio

8.5 out of 5…amazing food, wine & service….a great Italian gastronomic experience. Will be back for sure!!!
B.
Loved this place. Delicious food, great atmosphere, friendly staff. Can't praise highly enough!
N. M.
Very welcoming. Excellent food and service and one of the best intimate restaurants we have been to in town. Would highly recommend.

Was a regular client till virus and found it to be the best Italian restaurant in London, food divine service personal and attentive. All in all highest score and cannot wait to visit on my next trip to London
J. L.
Really tasty pizza! The crust is beautifully done and generous toppings. Worthwhile revisiting. Have to taste the other items on the menu. Service can be a hit and miss depending on where you are sat (Reason for 3 stars 😉). And as understood from colleagues some days the pizza oven does not do business - best to call and check than be disappointed. Or perhaps it's rather 'Italian' pace 😄 If it is a hot day, do check if they have an outdoor table as it can get rather hot indoors at lunch.
S. T. G.
Tasty pizzas at good sizes. Staff are very welcoming.
The prices are good.
Tried the pasta a few months ago, also good but the size of the pasta portions could be impoved. Perhaps it has?
J. C.
Great food, lovely atmosphere, close to the High Street. This place is in central London yet you feel like in the middle of Italy. 100% worth the visit!
C. L.
Surprisingly an amazing Italian restaurant. I've dined at many in London and Italy itself - really didn't expect this little place to be so good (kinda judged it on the decor), but better than most. Great pizza, great pasta, great antipasti. Excellent service, too.
M. J. M.
The owners and staff are welcoming and attentive, you will certainly enjoy the friendly atmosphere!
K. H.
Had beef carpaccio and caeser salad with wine, which was good. You can enjoy dinner with your friends.
G. B.
The best pizza’s in London with excellent service. I will return to try the other items on their menu. Can’t wait.
G.
very good food, however not many vegetarian options. as well as this, had a discount code that they wouldn't let us use as we were "seated in the wrong area"
M. S.
Probably the best pizza in London when Eros was making them. Not anymore I’m afraid but still not bad and a quirky place to drop into.
Prepare to be surrounded by children and families almost all the time so best visit in the spring or summer when you can enjoy the food outside away from the playground/crèche inside.
C. K.
Amazing food, amazing prices, and some of the most amazing people working the staff! Whether it’s a quick coffee or pizza/pasta this beautiful place is worth the visit!
H. R.
Delicious food and beyond exceptional hospitality. The owner/manager is truly dedicated and works with a passion very rare these days. Thank you for the amazing service! However, the place is just too small and cramped to enjoy the experience. Also, the decor on the walls is not family friendly and the dark colors only add to an already stuffy atmosphere.
O. D.
Super food, greater atmosphere, attentive and informed service. Not your typical West London Italian - much more going for it!
G. M.
We discovered this little gem one day while walking around the High Street Kensington area and I’m so happy we decided to take one of the side roads and found them, since than we simply can’t stop coming back. This is a place you wouldn’t know exists unless you walked by and we are so glade we found it. Their menu is a pleasant surprise and all the food served here is authentic Italian, the quality of the food served is really high compared to the price you pay and the list of wines is just amazing, I’ll add they know exactly which wine to recommend based on your food choice. The internal decor will remind you of places in Italy if you had the chance to visit...shame I can’t add another star as the quality of the food and the way we were treated really deserves the 6 out of 5 stars rating, we will be back soon, many thanks!

Have been going for years and always impresses. Whether a romantic night for two or the private room they sorted out for us when we were 8 plus a baby in a pram, they take good care of their customers and the food is excellent. The risotto- scraped out of the Parmesan wheel- is particularly amazing.
Z.
Great coffee friendly staff good REAL Awesome Italian Pizza ...10 points
A. G.
Pricey but good, classic Italian food.
M. C.
Incredible food, beautifully presented with classic Italian charm. Had a fantastic meal thankyou.
M. L.
There is always a good reason to go to this Italian restaurant. Excellent food made with excellent raw materials. The chef always does a great job. Excellent wine cellar. Really good and quiet place.
C. W.
Really lovely, friendly cafe / restaurant. Felt genuinely Italian. Was extremely relaxed and very good food and some respectable wine. Friendly service and reasonable prices in quiet neighbourhood
S. B.
Cozy little Italian restaurant tucked away behind the high street. Lovely service from the owner/manager and fabulous risotto served from a parmesan cheese wheel! omg delicious! 4 stars because we were downstairs and it could use a bit more sprucing up with decoration or warmth, perhaps softer lighting like candles or little lamps, throw cushions etc like they have upstairs.
P. G.
Best spritz ever and good pizza, nearby restaurant is also super and offers a more upscale menu with great customer service (very rare in London and generally the UK...) and superb Italian delicacies
B. M.
An excellent surprise. This place is very unassuming yet incredibly cool in a vintagy kinda way. The food was excellent and their wine selection was great (although I am admittedly not a wine connoisseur). I'll be back!
M. E.
Great food, although I came in to work (having asked if it was ok to set my laptop up) & then got kicked out of the quiet room & made to sit in a room with the TV on & noisy kids.
R. I.
Tasty food. Good service. But couldn't read the menu in the very low lighting and the small font. Then their coffee.machine wasn't working which meant not only no coffee but also the desserts that involved coffee.
N. S.
Food was nice but the service by our male waiter was somewhat unenthusiastic.
K. M.
One of the most authentic Italian experiences in London. Vintage Italian movie posters adorn the walls and if you're lucky, they will have a big screen playing Sophia Loren films as you enjoy your meal. Their risotto is amazing- served to you out of a large grind of parmesan cheese, melting the cheese as its dished to you. Highly recommended!
z.
Very cosy and friendly, nice straightforward real Italian food.
C. K.
Great find, just a couple streets off the high street. Robust and flavorful italian entrees ...along wirh extremely tasty and well formed italian cookies/biscotti after. I took a variety with me back to share at work. Sidewalk and indoor seating. Friendly.
P. T.
This is a great independent coffee shop with original decor serving great Italian coffee and treats.
C. M.
Really good Italian restaurant. Bigger than it seems from the outside. Food is excellent and decently priced considering the location. Wine and service are excellent.
J. P.
The food is excellent as is the service. As an added bonus the owner is a real gear head (loves cars) and is fun to interact with. He made this Yankee feel quite special.
D. B.
Super good pizzas and very friendly staff. Two small tables on the sidewalk, if you prefer to have your pizza outside.
A. I.
Good Italian cafe serving pastries, paninis and pizzas
W. J.
Oh dear me Locanda Ottoemezzo is irresistible heaven, Italian style. Pizza - excellence, Pasta - (particularly the Lasagne) perfect and as for the Chocolate dessert - to die for. Service, personality, humour everything that you might wish for at home but in a restaurant.
K. O.

G. B.
Great coffee fabulous location and very friendly staff
N. V. T.
Pasta was really good, but we didn’t find it was out of this world. Perhaps we expected a bit more given the price (benchmarked against other Italian restaurants in London).
M. L.
Friendly Italian Restaurant with good fresh pasta and Pizza, daily fresh dishes menu available at lunch.
J. S.
Great serving sizes and nice quiet atmosphere. Dishes are standard but nicely cooked. Perfect for a quiet Sunday morning breakfast (before 10am!) after a night out.

J. G.
Great lunch place, authentic Italian, but theft to ring ahead if you want pizza as they don't serve it every day.
A. J.

It was my local when I lived the area. Cozy and lovely place. Casual cafe during morning and lunch time. Panini here is the best!

C. G.
You can stop looking for the best pizza in London, it’s at Ottoemezzo. Perfect char on the bake. Freshest ingredients and toppings. Ottoemezzo brings their A game time after time!
One could even expand their search for a better pizza to the whole of Italy and still not find anything better. Seriously outrageously good stuff!
S. D.
First class plate of pasta in a pretty cool setting.
M. C.
Just wonderful atmosphere delicious authentic Italian food I highly recommend the mushroom risotto. Bravo
K. A.
The best pizza in London!!!!
Can serves 2 person almost!!!
S. H. M.
Great atmosphere and good food but pretty expensive (and I don't like the risotto) but highly commendable.
j. t.
Best full English breakfast. Weekend special, Cumberland sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, toast, mushrooms, baked beans, side salad, all good.
A. M.
Nice wines and starters, but below average pasta
M. T.
Some of the best Italian food I’ve ever eaten, including in Italy. Order the mixed meat platter to share for starters (the buffalo mozzarella is a show-stopper), and any of the fresh pasta options for mains - I had the freshly truffle pasta, others had the clams, and some had pizzas which are delicious too. Highly recommend. The Nutella tart is the stuff of dreams.
T. S.
It is a really nice soup I recommend the veal or t bone steak for your main course
L. A.
Walked past with my parents, spotted plenty of empty tables and decided to try for lunch. Was told the only available table was a cramped item in a tiny alcove where none of us could fit our legs under the table. The empty, allegedly booked tables, remained empty for the entirety of our visit. This was a wet Wednesday lunchtime, not peak season weekend. Service was OK but nothing special, food enjoyable. My experience makes me feel it's not good value for money and there are plenty of nicer, more welcoming, places to eat in Kensington.
C. K. A.

A. C.
Excellent pizza, and just like Rome atmosphere
M. A.
Quietly comfortable in a quiet side street
A. W. (.
I had a Earl Grey tea which was fine, but they didn't ask about milk, so I ended up with dairy when I don't drink it, plus a suspicious and unexplained free biscuit (suspicious because I don't know if it has butter etc.).
It's one of those places where you have to ask for a key to use the one bathroom, and there's a mirror right opposite the can, which I personally hate. Impossible not to see your own junk.

(Translated) Italian restaurant in every way with a pizzeria next to it (but we didn't try it). South Kensington area near the Royal Albert Hall. Well-kept restaurant, good food. Average prices for London (£ 25 2-course menu)
If you are close it is worth it
