Reviews of Luce e Limoni - Italian (Sicilian) Restaurant
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal after being recommended by the owner of another Italian restaurant around the corner. The set menu was excellent value. I had a delicious piece of hake which was perfectly cooked; pearly soft inside and toasted skin, served with a wonderfully delicate saffron scented sauce. Came with perfectly cooked vegetables instead of mash, as I requested. We loved the twice cooked pizza which had a lovely crispy base with just the right amount of bend. Delicious tomato sauce and fresh spicy basil. The bread was soft and tasty with a herb crust, house red was very drinkable! Gelato was delicious! The restaurant is very pleasantly calm and the acoustics mean it is easy to hear your dinner companion. Particularly if you struggle with noisy restaurants. The only thing I think could substantially improve matters would be a plethora of candles to cast a glimmer of light on the underside of the the wonderful chandeliers! The waiting was superb by both owner and staff; unobtrusively friendly, warm, and happy to have a chat. Thank you.
What an absolute gem of a find! Every dish was scrumptious even starting off with the bread and olive oil. The black linguine was a definite winner, and the roast lamb was great too. Great wine at reasonable value.
This was our first meal in London and it was such a nice experience - especially with the friendly head chef!
Really enjoy our dinner. Relax atmosphere and well professional serving real Italian food. Sicilian pork is nicely spicy for winter. Lamb is nice. Three desserts had been ordered and worth all pennies. Wine choice price is mostly high. Some of them have good price.
Authentic italian experience .Superb food, very kind, knowledgeable and accommodating host, perfect price.
The bread is to die for and the Sicilian wines are so good! This little gem in Farringdon is always a good decision on a Friday night.
They even allowed our little pekingese.
Amazing place!! Kind service and the quality of food is over the top. Would highly recommend. Lovely atmosphere
The owner, who comes from south eastern Sicily, is a brilliant ambassador for Sicilian cooking. Excellent fish and seafood cookery as well as meaty treats. The wine list is good too, with plenty of Sicilian wines to choose from. Heartily recommended. UPDATE: We went back after lockdown was lifted and this place is as good as ever. We just asked the owner to give us what was freshest and best and it was great. Definitely worth travelling to.
This is a gem of a restaurant with a real feel of Sicily in the heart of Farringdon.
Fantastic food and service and ambiance so everything you would want from eating out.
Spent a lovely evening catching up with friends and couldn't fault anything.
The starter included one of the best mozzarella I have ever had.!
Fresh, of quality, simply perfect ingredients.
Food and service impeccable.
I have known Fabrizio since long time, his dedication to the food industry has been very passionate and professionally successful.
I enjoyed dinners with Friends and Family many times at Luci e Limoni and in the past to the previous restaurant that he owned and managed. His genuine cuisine brings me back to my childhood , born Sicilian like Him we always talk about food and Ingredients when he shows me new recipes .
And Only I can Say that He has Brought Sicilian Flavour to London.
So experience the Taste of Sicily, well recommended
I can not recommend this place enough. The food is fantastic, the wine equally so (I recommend the Grillo). The room is beautiful and the service is excellent. It’s so nice too to go somewhere that has a really interesting Italian menu. There are classics on offer, but the Sicilian influence sings through all the food. Best Italian in the area hands down.
We were looking for an Italian restaurant in the Bloomsbury/Holborn area and picked Luce e Limoni because it had the best reviews and the menu looked varied and full of dishes that were immediately going on the shortlist! It had the atmosphere and attentiveness of a local restaurant and the food was delicious and typically Sicilian. An excellent find!
Lovely evening. My son was working at ITN. I had spotted this restaurant before and decided to book, it was amazing. Warm welcome and lovely owner. The food was some of the nicest I have ever tasted plus the carafe of wine he recommended was superb. An absolute delight. Thank you.
Dishes at this place are unique & delicious!…I keep coming back as the food is tasty, fresh, different and the top! I loved this place, their dishes and the service.
I had a great dinner and amazing evening concluded with a delicious, organic glass of red wine!🍷 ⭐️👌🏻
Such a good and original place , the food was delicious and it tasted very “homemade” , the fish was incredible and the crab pasta was very unique . Reasonable prices for London and the portions were satisfying. The staff is very friendly and warm , took very good care of us . Would definitely go back
Luce e Limoni remains one of my favourite restaurants - and not just in London. Owner Fabrizio, a native of Syracuse, is passionate about food and serves authentic Sicilian cuisine in a warm and friendly atmosphere with a great range of Italian and Sicilian wines to accompany the food. Highly recommended!
Wonderful restaurant, pleasant atmosphere, amazing food like homemade but better. Also very warm people especially the chef/owner, lovely Italian man! 10/10 definitely will visit again :)
Good food in a cosy place and friendly staff. The 2 course suggestion was in a reasonable price.
My tenderloin pork was excellent!
We had a splendid private party and dinner in the lower room. Fabrizio guided our Sicilian evening with a light and pleasant touch. The food and wine were very good, and the service impeccable. It made a perfect occasion for an event to honour an esteemed colleague, who was very happy. Thank you, all at L and L.
Had a wonderful evening here with some friends. Great menu with lots of choices and superb food.
The staff were welcoming and friendly and there was a really nice atmosphere! We will be back soon.
Being fairly local we passed the inviting looking Luce e Limoni before, but last Saturday was actually our first visit.
Wow this place is equal to none!
We had the beautiful sea bass, followed by the superbe baked cheese cake, just as it should be. I wager nothing like it is served anywhere in London!
While we were there, a family booked 'endlessly' a first communion event for a large group. But nothing was too much for Fabrizio accommodating to their every wish.
Good to get back to one of our regular venues, although only 8 of us. Good food, nice wine, easy service as we had pre-ordered. 59 Club
Three of us enjoyed a lovely relaxed lunch on a day when London was gridlocked in the rain. We received a very warm welcome from Fabrizio and an understanding approach to our slowness in ordering as we were too busy catching up ! The smoked salmon and trout were delicious and Fabrizio recommended a fantastic white wine to accompany our meal plus a beautiful dessert wine and the cannoli were to die for !! Thank you for such a lovely time and also for finding a non sulphate wine for our red drinking friend- yo7 may have changed her life !
Fabrizio and his team looked after us superbly on Friday for a surprise 70th birthday lunch. The food, ambience, service and value for money were all 5*. I look forward to dining at Luce e Limoni again very soon.
Lovely restaurant. We ordered pizzas and they were delicious. The wine and tiramisu were also yummy. Highly recommended!!
Celebrated one of the most special days of my life here. Yummiest food, kindest staff and best-est vibe. Always going to recommend this place in a heartbeat.
Great value business lunch! Authentic Sicilian food, fresh and homemade bread as well. The olive oil is amazing. Cheerful and friendly service, definitely worth the trip!
Fresh and delicious Sicilian food at reasonable price. Very passionate staffs and cozy atmosphere. Great place to go out with friends who also enjoy good food.
Me and my family are become regulars at Luce e Limoni where the food as well as the atmosphere are excellent. I personally love the home-made pasta and the trademark homemade Sicilian cannoli are a must!!!!
I celebrated my birthday at Luce e Limoni with a humble group of people. The service was amazingly kind and helpful. Also a three times alternating number of people for the reservation wouldn't change that. The food was also amazing and the venue is nicely decorated.
For desert you need to try the Tiramisu!
The only thing that could have been better was the espresso :-)
Definitely a five star!
I have had the pleasure of enjoying dinner at Luce e Limoni almost every week for the majority of 2021. The owner, Fabrizio, has always been cordial and paternal, delighting me with his cuisine, culture and life-story. I feel lucky to consider Fabrizio as well as Luce e Limoni’s staff as my friends. Highly recommended !
Exlent restaurant 😋, my favourites dishes were the bucatini with pork belly ragout and the sicilian cannoli with ricotta cheese.
We had a fantastic time with my family.
Strongly recommended
One of the best Sicilian restaurants in London. We had a dinner for four and the owner together with Andrea looked after us so well ! I definitely recommend this restaurant and I will be back soon.
Ps. Make sure you try the cannoli as dessert ;)
Had an absolutely brilliant meal. Food was excellent, atmosphere was lovely. Highly recommend, made for a perfect date night. Will be returning.
Very reasonable prices for excellent and authentic Sicilian dining. Excellent service and a great set menu. Highly recommend
Fantastic restaurant. We go as often as we can due to the fact that not only are the food, wine and ambiance superb, the owner Fabrizio is very welcoming and treats us like family. Everything I have eaten there has been fresh and super tasty. This is a perfect place to have a business lunch, intimate evening meal or a larger party of friends. Can not recommend highly enough. 5 stars does not do it justice, one of the best Italian restaurants in London.
We have now dined at Luce e Limoni three times and have nothing but praise. Fabrizio provides the warmest of welcomes and creates a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The food is absolutely delicious and is accompanied by the most excellent wines. We have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this restaurant and we will most certainly be returning soon!!!
Best dining experience for ages! Warm welcome, great decor and atmosphere and the food is outstanding! We will return.
Nice place and really good food. Service and atmosphere of a great restaurant. Must try ...
I have been there for my birthday. The place was very busy but the food came out very quickly. I took a lamb cannon (I didn't die for it to be honest) and one 'peperonata' that was really, really, really tasty 😋
Probably too expensive but it was good!
Lovely Sicilian place with splendid starters, pasta and vino. The owner clearly cares deeply about making you feel at home and like family. Highly recommend!
Amazing food and super friendly service. All dishes were brilliant. The sword fish was delicious!!!!
It's a good restaurant with welcoming attentive staff. I would have given it 4 stars, but for some reason you had to use a bar code to download a menu, which spoiled the experience. The specials of the day were printed out for you and were excellent.
The food is incredibly fresh, well prepared and true Sicilian. The owner is warm and welcoming and is from that region and buys authentic produce and oversees the preparation. The pricing is reasonable and they offer a set menu price. I have a true Sicilian experience
The go-to family owned, feel-like-in-Italy kind of restaurant serving up Authentic recipes from Sicilyfrom.
THE classics, homemade pasta (and that focaccia.. yum!), up to more refined and modern cooking method. A very well thought all
Sicilian wine selection plus the staple wines from around Italy are making it even more enjoyable.
A TRUE GEM of its kind. Can’t wait to go back!
And the owner is a real entertainer !
Was here with my hubby on a Saturday everything and I have to say that it was a great night as everything went just perfectly! Starting from the choice of the music, the fabulous decor, the friendly and respectful staff and finishing with the food that by the way, was “Oh my Gosh!!!!” An authentic Italian cuisine, all kind of Italian wines at affordable price and a very friendly ambient that makes you feel like “home” gives to this place a 5 STARS and definitely it becomes A MUST TRY place!
Well done to all the staff, and a huge THANK YOU to Fabrizio who treated us like royals! We’ll definitely keep coming every week!!!
Excellent food, efficient & friendly service. Reasonably priced for the overall quality.
Interesting menue. Nice service. A little Sicilia in London.
I particularly enjoyed the cocoa tagliatelle!
Luce e limoni is an authentic Sicilian restaurant. A gem that rewards its visitors again and again. A good range of starters with the scallops and fritto misto standing out. Pasta, meat and seafood mains including Couscous and of course authentic Sicilian cannoli. Worthy of a visit and support.
Amazing dinner, dishes beautifully presented, flavourful and truly authentic - as an Italian I would not eat Italian food anywhere else.
Atmosphere is lovely and welcoming, you feel like never leaving.
We will definitely go back over and over again.
Great food, great atmosphere, waiter was really attentive and was really happy to share stories about Sicily. Favourite new neighborhood Italian restaurant!
A little Sicilian gem in the middle of Clerkenwell!!! Highly recommended, delicious food and very pretty setting with all the chandeliers! We went to this place many times during the years and it never disappointed!
Delicious dinner in lovely modern setting with many chandeliers. My dinner last night brought back happy memories of our trip to Sicily. I had and would also recommmend the burrata with eggplant caponata as a starter and the spaghetti with crab and mushrooms. The presentation of the pasta dish is a lovely surprise. I was too full by the end of the meal to have dessert.
Tried lunch with 3 courses. Everything was amazing! Authentic Sicilian dishes, homemade bread and pasta, good service by the friendly owner and mood inside the restaurant and the reasonable prices... Added this restaurant to my favourite:)
A five stars experience, delicious authentic and original Sicilian food, all pastas and desserts are hand made. Superb wine list with the best from Sicily and Italy. The host Fabrizio will guide you with passion and professionality.
FINALLY A REAL ITALIAN RESTAURANT
This was such a lovely surprise, a cozy restaurant near Holborn station. I felt welcomed and at ease from the first minute. Delicious homemade bread and extra vergine olive oil. Thumps up for ambience, service, really tasty food and fair price.
Keep up the good work, more people should start enjoying this place.
Ps. With so many fake Italian places crawling around the streets of London, I'm so happy I come across this true Italian honest place.
Wow the food here was delicious, great attentive service.
The food really reminded me of Sicily, the sunshine, great service and delicate tasting clean food! This is what London needs !!!
My new favourite restaurant in London.
Definitely recommend the Crab Gratin in Shell Pasta and Seafood Sauce - cooked to perfection!
Thank you
One of the best places you can enjoy Italian/Sicilian food.
Friendly atmosphere and feel like home.
They can even accommodate your needs outside the manu, fantastic
Well-made Sicilian dishes that you don't get at every Italian restaurant, such as lamb in a cinamon-date sauce or a pistachio semifredo.
Had 3 courses and wine pairings based on the owners recommendation. I did not like one of the wines he recommended and I can't for the life of me remember the name of it. The dessert appeared to be sweetened ricotta cheese that was deep fried with syrup. It tasted great but I think it didn't really display the depth of the menu however, it was still tasty, I just wish I would have picked something that would have displayed more talent from the chef. Overall, amazing meal, lamb was perfect, prosciutto was amazing
Really lovely Italian /Sicilian restaurant just off Grays inn and so v close by to the city and law courts. It has a quirky / funky interior decor with low hanging chandeliers. However the personal attention by the waiters and owner Fabrizio is special and worth the visit alone. Food was really v good and my desert was amazing (strawberry and pear crumble). Everyone was happy in our party when we left ...even though we were chatting long after the food left, staff left us to enjoy at least an hour chatting. Lovely place.
Fabrizio (the patron) always excell himself. I come back too often perhaps..but..why not. Always best experience. All fresh ingredients daily prepared. Five star Fabrizio!!! Well done
Friendly service with tasty authentic Sicilian food. Great wine too. We loved it!
Delicious and interesting food but expensive wine. It was lovely to be able to hear the conservation as there didn't appear to have music playing and it was a lovely peaceful place. Good service too. Would definitely go again if in the area.
If you love food, you will love this superb Sicilian restaurant. So many delicious dishes, I am always spoilt for choice. Well done chef Fabrizio!🥰
We return time and time again. Always good food with great personal service from the owner.
Back after an enforced absence. Fabrizio and his team did not fail to deliver fantastic food, great wine and genuinely friendly service.
This place is awesome. The food is delicious. Sicilian cuisine is hard to find in London for some reason, but at Luce e Limoni it's here, and what cuisine! Great to see Fabrizio again, too.
Such a gem! Been to this restaurant several times and it never disappoints! Outstanding and beautifully presented Sicilian food, great service, pleasant ambience. Highly recommend.
This is one of the best Italian restaurant in London. Indeed, it offers delicious food, in good quantity, at a reasonable price. As I said, this is an Italian restaurant, so do not expect to eat "international food". Moreover, the location is really nice and you can see it from pics posted by other users
Fabulous slightly quirky Italian, food, wine, service and atmosphere. The staff are superb, literally can't find fault the place in any way. Booked for daughters 21st, weekend in London and few!it made it extra special.
Food is authentic Sicilian and we‘ve been here several times. It’s always great food and the service is great too. Ask them for a recommendation as I did that both times and inessential disappointed!
Book if it’s a Friday evening !
I have been in this amazing restaurant with my Sicilian family before Christmas.
They tried the risotto with Cernia and Piacentino and thought that the mix of ingredients was really original and tasted so good!
Friendly staff and great customer service.
I will be back for sure.
Pleasant family owned and run restaurant serving some thoughtful dishes made from fresh ingredients. Some interesting wines from Sicily and some more familiar wines from Italy and the rest of Europe. Something for everyone.
Some things, like the veal t-bone are awesome. Simply grilled with just rosmary and lemon - not drenched in sauce! Really good.
Some other things seem a bit thrown together - a linguine made with a seabass ragu was just pain wierd; too many flavours and textures all competeing for attention with nothing to bring it together. A cauliflower soup was smooth and hearty, but with slices of raw red onion floating on top, this completely unbalanced the flavours and had you gulping water to take the after-taste of raw onion away!
If you know what you like, you'll proably eat well here; although not everything is great.
Had a really lovely evening here, food and wine were really great and the staff were fantastic! Will hopefully be back soon
Italian restaurant serving mainly Sicilian dishes. Wide choice available on the a la carte menu but one can also go for the set menu. Good selection of wines. Friendly waiters.
Came here for a business lunch and ordered seared tuna steak with a vegetable ratatouille. Tuna was well cooked but everything else was below average. I could have made better sides at home which is never a good thing, especially at these prices. Service was a bit intrusive and the waiter did not speak great English.
Excellent food, well cooked and kindly served. They we'll mix traditional sicilia recipes with new ideas.
One of the best place I have gone in London.
Can't thank all the staff at this restaurant enough for the warm and very welcoming hospitality that we received, we arrived from Newcastle upon Tyne to be treated like one of the locals not just in London but Sicilian aswell!!!! Food was brilliant and the service was just as great as the food 10/10 well done and thank you
So happy, I had a terrible day... Walked in and knocked a wine glass off the table accidentally and the owner made me feel at home regardless. The meal was wonderful, the wine smooth and delicious and we all bathed in the owners warm glow and atmosphere. Thankyou for saving me day...
Amazing service. Amazing food. Shame I couldn't finish it all. Manager was very talkative and kept us company for the whole time we were there. Desserts were delish.
Small typical Italian restaurant, very authentic in terms of food choices and tastes, staff was very friendly and location was great for a work meeting during lunch. Definitely recommend!
1. very good roasted pork belly. 2. very good Sicilian red wine St.Ciicilia.3. Very good and attentive service by Mr Zafarana; they even turned off the awful piped in musicupon our demand. None of the other guests did mind. So why do all of us have to suffer from that noise erroneously called music in most restaurants now?4. Easy parking on yellow line outsde.
Amazing pasta..enjoyed a lot...semifredo was too good..
Highly recommended, delicious Sicilian food with surprising menu for a very reasonable price. Went with a group of 10 people at short notice, all was excellent.
Authentic Italian restaurant (we were four Italians at dinner). Some dishes were excellent - fish based dishes in particular - some other where not (Waitrose burrata is much better then theirs)
Excellent food and very friendly helpful service. Strongly recommended.
Great friendly atmosphere, with excellent 5 star Siciian food.
Definitely recommend to everyone
Excellent Restaurant with authentic Sicilian food and super excellent service, l highly recommend it.
Great food, great staff
Delicious food. Generous portions. Fantastic service! A real gem.
Had a lovely meal Saturday evening- caponata was stunning. Swordfish preparation and presentation impressive. All in all a lovely evening.
Amazing food and a super lovely owner! Love coming here for lunch or dinner when in London. Can highly recommend this plac restaurant to everybody!
Excellent Sicilian food - different from your standard Italian. The owner is a really nice guy and the service good.
Fabrizio's second restaurant. Andreas still head chef. Food is typically excellent. , staff professional and friendly.
Beautiful scillian food and wine. Friendly and attentive service. Will definitely dine here again.
I have just been there for lunch! Delicious fresh pasta and amazing desserts. We'll be back soon for more :)
Fantastic place.. you cannot go wrong with Fabrizio who cooks divine food and serves it with a smile!
Loved this place food was amazing absolutely visiting again very soon😊
Don't miss IT! Parmesan fries and desserts to die for!
Excellent food, fresh ingredient, creative dishes, exceptional deserts list, grea decor, friendly service, good wine list, managed by the owner.
Friendly host and probably one of the best places for real seafood dishes in London! Highly recommended
Excellent food with a few dishes that I had not seen before. Certainly not a typical Italian pizza/pasta restaurant, way above that!
Super little gem on the Grays Inn Road.
Great food and a fantastic wine list.
Great value and great service.
If you want authentic Italian/Scililan food this is the place. Food is fantastic!
Excellent Sicilian food and service but the wine/beer is very expensive.
Service and food always excellent
The owner was very proud of where the ingredients came from and talk us through what was available. The food was excellent
Fabulous authentic Sicilian food very reasonably priced. Excellent service.

Nice Italian food. I like the traditional Italian sea food
Great to go there again. The food great as always.
Lovely food, lovely atmosphere would come again
Everything was delicious from start to finish for the lunch you did for me and my mother today. Thank you!
Goody expectations not really meant. Astonishingly dated and uncomfortable furniture. Needs an uplift.
Really lovely restaurant. Make me feel home. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Amazing food quality!
Good food and service.
Great food and wine
Sicilian food at its best
Very good place
