Could not have been more satisfied. Food is simply AMAZING - meat selection meet high quality standards and tastes so fresh and tender. Location is perfect, just off the bush part of Northcote road. Staff is very professional and friendly. Wines and veggies are delish too. Extremely reasonable price considering the quality and service. So much recommended!!

Excellent steaks and lovely starters. No complaints about the food, there were a few things not available on the Thursday when we ate (Several cuts of beef and some of the spirits), but what was available was excellent.

So let’s start we went to Macellaio in Exmouth 2 times and I have to say I was about to give up to them not for the price I don’t care I know that good food in the restaurant cost money otherwise I will cook at home but when you send me a Fiorentina pre cook and after heating up in the oven well is like boiling meet and I prefer not to say about tiramisu but well NOT TODAY BECAUSE IN CLAPHAM LUCA THE CHEF MAKE A SUPER MEAL REALLY I FINISH EATING AND WE STILL TALKING WAS AMAZING ANITA WAS AMAZING SHE WAS ALWAYS AROUND ASKING FOR ANYTHING WE NEED AND MAKE AWARE DINNER REALLY SPECIAL GUYS YOU ARE PERFECT THANKS AGAIN AND SEE YOU SOON BELIEVE ME 😎😎😎🤗

An absolutely fantastic experience and birthday meal! My partner and I had the ravioli, which I would highly recommend, for starter along with the bruschetta. For the main we shared The Tomahawk special medium rare which was cooked and presented to perfection alongside portion of fries and orange and fennell salad. Paired lovely with their modestly priced Neprica Primitivo red wine. To top it off, a lovely little cheesecake on the house to end the evening with a birthday wish. For something extra special Macellaio RC is worth every penny especially as the continue the eat out to help out discount.

Meat is good but wow how overpriced! spent 90£ each for dinner, in a restaurant which is very rustic and slightly run down. Would have been very happy with the experience if paying 50£. Not 90£

The decoration and menu format are very nice. Quite over-crowded for a small-ish place. Your clothes are going to smell a lot afterwards. Meat is excellent. Becomes quite expensive because of the amount of bones that come with the meat... A bit disappointing...

A lovely piece of steak from Italy but I was expecting more for the £ we paid for this meal. The service and atmosphere we're great and no empty tables. We'll be back again at some point, when we'll be comfortable spending so much money for a dinner for 2.

Fantastic Italian prime rib "costata". Sides are a tad expensive and on the small side hence 4 not 5 stars. Wine was recommended by the knowledgeable waitress and thoroughly enjoyed. Great for a date with a fellow meat-lover. It doing disappoint. (If you're not a beef fan I would stay clear). A couple of pasta options for non-beef/ veggies. Didn't try but table-gazed and looked decent!

This was a great Italian steak restaurant. Unusually it is a sharing style service where you can choose a large cut and the weight you would like between your table and it is all served on sharing dishes. The steak was divine and the sides were excellent compliments. I would be back in a shot! The atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable with great service.

Starters and desserts were better (hearts and tataki were great) than the purported pièce de résistance - costata rib-eye looked really cool with much fanfare (the waiting staff plunged the knives into the table and I was thinking holy cow this is a Walker Frey Red Wedding moment) but there wasn't much flavour or melt-in-your-mouth consistency unfortunately. Chips are also insanely salty. Decor was really cool though.

Great atmosphere, excellent meat -- one of the best in London. We had the Lardo Bruschetta (we ordered a second one because it was delicious) and the Costata beef. Then for dessert, the tiramisu. Would definitely go again.

Been there on a Sunday early afternoon, it was not busy and we got the right balance of attention: knowledgeable and ready staff but not pushy which was nice. Only popped in for red wine and a charcuterie and cheese lunch, no mains. Good wine list. The ambience and staff are pleasant, you pay a premium price but the quality of ingredients speaks for itself and I would definitely pop in again if I am in the area, and I would surely recommend it to meat lovers ( Macellaio means butcher). Toilets clean and decor pleasant. Staff deserve compliments.

I came here with my family last Friday and we all thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed it. The steak was cooked absolutely perfectly and was some of the best meat I’ve had in a long time. All the sides were delicious and the desserts were to die for. The staff were super friendly and really made the whole evening what it was. Highly reccomended!

We started with Misto Imperiale, which is a huge platter to share. It has steak tartare, battuta all'albese, carpaccio, bresaola, cooked ham, salame and stracciatella. If I could make to love to something, this would be it! It is quite large and can easily be shared between four people. Recommend this place

I got the smoked hanger steak which was a bit overcooked and chewy. My wife's meal was good. Big selection of wines. Great atmosphere and presentation. Not a cheap though, a 12.5% service charge is added to the bill.

Great food and great service. We have been here a few times and always had a good experience, mid week visit are recommended as the atmosphere was very relaxed and we were served quickly. My favourite dish was the "imperiale" board, it's a selection of our of the ordinary cure meet and cheese that includes 2 different types of tartare. Delicious

The food and wine are spectacular - the service is friendly, fun and very professional... a great find for us. Try the offal starters, pasta main courses are wonderful and the aged steaks (cooked to perfection) are utterly amazing. If you have the chance ... GO THERE

Our Sunday food retreat. Best shop of all of the Macellaio shops. Cosy and very "local", the food is amazing and the atmosphere is kept simple and tidy. Beautiful place and great service. It is always a pleasure to go back there and every time we bring friends with us, they are super impressed

Really good meat a bit too cold my medium rare beef rib and I guess that’s for the size of the portion but that can be improved improving the cooking technique. And btw I get that it’s a steak house but they need to be a bit more creative and offer more variety on the menu, no one wants to have beef for starters and main . Apart from that food was delicious

The food was ok. Limited menu but the steak was good. The service however was terrible. Our waitress had no idea about the wine list or any of the cuts, and there are only a handful of items on the menu. I would expect more from a steak and wine specialist! Disappointing.

Every time we go for dinner at Macellaio we always have an amazing time! People who work there are lovely and the food is utterly good! A wide variety of very good wines from Italy and the design of the restaurant is very cool!

Food was delicious, I chose the beef heart and the tagliatelle, the heart was incredibly flavoursome and had a brilliant texture. The tagliatelle was perfectly aldente and the beef ragu was enjoyable. It's not the cheapest place around, but the quality of food means I would definitely recommend a visit.

We will be going again. If you order the la imperial and extra bits you won't need a main cos it is so good and you will be stuffed. So make sure to do 2 trips once for the meats and cheeses and once for the steaks and then many more times after!
