Reviews of Pizzeria Pappagone
J. S.
What a great place with such a good atmosphere and great food. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and we will most definitely be back soon
B. Ö.
Pizza is one of the best in London. It's specially made in a traditional oven. Chicken was also amazing. Mojito had too much sugar but it was okay. Ice cream was fresh. Always kind staff.

This restaurant has a loud atmosphere and mainly filled with families. There is wide selection of food on their menu which makes me want to try their other dishes such as the pasta and the lamb steak. It gets busy even on a weekday so I would advise to book or to go there at off-peak hours. I had high standards due to reading the reviews online, however for me, I thought the pizza was good but not mind blowing. The waitress was nice however I thought it was too long of a wait to be served and to get the bill.
S. S. T.
Their pizza is glorious and far better than other more pretentious pizza places, really really satisfying. We had the parmigiana pizza and their Gorgonzola with pork sausage - out of the two the latter was definitely my favourite. All the food comes in great portions and it’s definitely the kind of place where you are spoilt for choice on the menu (I need to go back and try out their mussels and their seafood pasta!!) Service was lovely and friendly, dessert was SUCH a good deal and their gelati was to die for - we tried their Ferraro Rochet flavour and had to fight each other for it. The tiramisu is brilliantly aromatic with proper coffee flavours.

Really lively atmosphere. Great service by Italian staff. And the pizza was both delicious and very good value. Sadly I don't live nearby but I'll have to visit my friends who do live nearby more often. Only slight downside was were we right next to a very large and noisy group so we had trouble hearing each other.
j. b.
Lightening fast service and a good family friendly experience. Pizzas are a decent size, as well as the calzone. The pizza was superior to the calzone, which I personally found a little wet. Quite a snug fit, but does provide a pleasant atmosphere, which is quite a welcome change as we exit the pandemic.
B. S.
Before covid they’d greet you with a handshake which was a nice neighbourhood touch. Not sure what protocol is now! Pizza and pasta are both good. I usually would get the gnocchi. Garlic bread and pizza is overkill. Wines are decent. Enjoy!
S. B.
I love this pizza place! Owned by genuine Italians, the food is fantastic with great prices and atmosphere to match. Love bringing friends here, and returning as locals, hopefully they’ll start recognising me 😉
S. S.
The best Italian I've ever been to. Service is excellent, the atmosphere is great and the food is delicious!
1. P.
Beautiful friendly family atmosphere , food is amazing, portions are great, amazing local place
C. D. L.
I have been eating here for 12 years and it's always a pleasure. Amazing food, really Italian, cheap prices, friendly and loud like a pub.. Pizza, pasta, Gelato, meat everything you will try is delicious and the stuff is friendly and professional!
N. W.
One of the nicest pizza’s and pasta I have ever eaten. Fast, friendly service and great atmosphere. Definitely recommend!
S. S.
only had take away here during lockdown which was great but went there last night as a group of 5. we had great night, great food and our waitress Nuria was fabulous! also very affordable house wine which is always a bonus!
j. m.

Value for and excellent waitor.
The only I would mention is gents toilets needs attention
A. C.
Fantastic place. So much to choose from I visited several times in a week! Lively atmosphere and friendly staff
v. a.
The service was IMPECCABLE.
Is so rare to find restaurants in which staff is so competent, kind and quick! the pizzas are very generous and delicious too!
We really felt taken care of.
C. O.
Amazing staff and incredible food. Best pizza I have tasted in a long time, real authentic Italian pizza. Just don't park outside the shop front because parking is around £7 an hour
L. S.
Loved the atmosphere, food and our server was kind, attentive and patient
C. M.
Food is quite cheap for the size and quality.
Everything was delicious, but definitely recommend the pistachio mini donuts and some gelato!
E. N. B.
Lovely staff & amazing food! Will definitely be coming back :) Grazie
R. M.
This place is amazing!!! Great food and outstanding customer service. The portions a perfect and the price is right. Best Italian pizza restuarant in London! I recommend for you to try it. You will not regret it !
B. S.
Basically in the immortal words of Pappagone "It'sa nice'a place to stuffa your face" - life affirming pizza in a high energy good vibes restaurant. Been here a few times and it's always been a pleasure - along with celebrating one's birthday a few years back. They sang me happy birthday so therefore how could I not give five stars
D.
My favourite restaurant been coming here since I was around 16 for my first meal when doing my Gcses and its still my favourite restaurant here being 34 celebrating Valentines day no photos this time the staff are really lovely greeting with affection and they always manage to find us a table even if it's short notice sometimes a small wait but food quality is 5*
E. F.
I’ve enjoyed this on several occasions now, both for a light lunch and a party occasion with ten of us. The portions are large, the ingredients are fresh, the pizzas are real, and with great friendly and caring staff as the icing on the cake. This has become a great replacement for the Porchetta that used to exist on this road. Thoroughly recommended.
B. W.
As a Vegan I was disappointed to see no specified options for Vegans on the menu and no choice in main courses for a Vegan pizza...the only Mains choice available was Penne Arrabiate. There did transpire to be several options of gelato on the dessert menu but they were not highlighted and I only discovered this through my comments to the waitress who was incidentally very helpful.
H. A.
Went there and had pizza with my house mates. The serving was very good and the food delicious. Very good Tiramisu.
A. H.
Great authentic Italian experience, both food and atmosphere. The pizzas are traditional wood fired (not sourdough, which is the only downside of this place.) and the pastas are amazing! We been a couple of times now and in the weekends is always busy. So book in advance or take your time to queue for a free table - it’s worth the wait. We been a couple of times now and had an amazing evening every time.
So if you are in Islington or the Finsbury Park neighbourhood this place is worth a visit!
C.
Excellent staff who make a big effort from the moment you arrive until you leave. Real family feel and delicious food. Would highly recommend :)
E. H.
The best, most authentic Italian food outside Italy with an energetic Italian atmosphere and Seria A football playing on the TV in the bar area. Always a wonderful welcome and loads of gluten free options including pizza and pasta. I truly love this place and regularly travel from Cambridge just to eat here with my wife.
O. S.
Always a good idea to go to Pappagone! Full of authentic atmosphere 👌 lots of families with kids and they love kids there. Food is great, big portions, we always take some of it with us home.
S. V.
I've been yesterday for a the first time in a birthday party and we had a lovely time.
The team is really friendly, professional and caring. The food was 10/10, the pasta comes in really big portions, same as the calzone pizza 🍕 👌.
Really nice food, fresh, and neat place!.
Definitely coming back again.
R. G.
Fantastic pizzas, great atmosphere, brilliant family freindly service. Very much a favourite, will go again (and again and again...)!
C. S.
Not fine dining but amazing quality and tasty food at a good price. Wood fire oven pizzas with a delicate but smokey taste. Wide ranging menu, the food is my favourite but the cocktails need some work! The egg on the pizza was overcooked. Nice place but make sure you book on the weekend as it's always filled. It's also quite noisy so those looking for a quiet night might want to try somewhere else.
E. B.
Spectacular pizzas and great wines and beers selection. I’d say top 3 pizzeria in London; however, on a downside, I hope the premises will be soon renovated as it’s not great and the COVID safety measurements will be reconsidered, I went early on a weekday night and the place was full with tables and customers too close to each other.
E.
Lively Italian restaurant with a plenty of antipasti, pasta and pizza options to choose from. This place is huge and always full. It is suitable for big groups and families. Staff is incredibly nice, they make you fell like home.
G. M.
The true italian vibe and pizza. Super friendly staff, amazing true italian food and cocktails. Clean, fast service, I've been going there for three years and never disappointed.
D. C.
Lovely place where you can eat very well cooked Italian dishes and gelato. The service was very good with friendly and competent staff. Shout out to Giulia who suggested me for the best as if she could read my mind knowing exactly what I wanted and why. Keep it up!
E. K.
Just half hour ago received an order via uber eats and I am enjoying the food as kids the pizza and ice creams
C. S.
Great atmosphere and always busy so book ahead. Good food and arrives quickly considering how busy the place gets.
D. B.
Always popping with great energy, great atmosphere and super friendly service!
The food speaks for itself, amazing pasta dishes and offers one of the best pizzas around London!
For drinks I would recommend the Lambrusco (Sparkling red wine)
& for Dessert the Tiramisu would be my first choice, but I've heard good things about the Banoffee pie!
D. K.
Authentic Italian pizza, good desserts. The dough of the pizza was good and the ingredients of good quality, you could feel each and every flavour! Quick and friendly service.
V. M. E.
This is the 3rd time I've been here and the food never dissapoints. Good, big portions. Great atmosphere. Very live and energetic. Tiramisu was amazing!
C. W.
Came here last night and had an amazing evening. Probably the best gluten free pizza I've had in London. There was a brilliant atmosphere for the football. I was very impressed with how good the service was considering how busy they were. Friendly staff, excellent food and all in a lovely setting. This is clearly where Italian's go when they are feeling homesick. Will definitely be back.
J. H.
An instant favourite - I love everything here, from the fantastic service to the amazing food this place is a winner for any occasion. Get the house red, the calzone, the caprese, in fact get everything this place is sick
R. C.
Classic spot. Incredible family restaurant with great Italian food and always fun and lively vibes. Recommend the Parmigiana pizza for vegetarians!
L. s. f.
Great place to eat little bit on the pricey side but you know you're going to get good food the only thing that's a bit of a disappointment and I don't speak for all the stuff only a little handful sometimes they could be a bit abrupt the way they talk maybe that's just the Italian in them by the way im Italian myself
C. V.
Pappagonies is a consistent, outstanding Italian. I've never had a bad meal from here. Good for a romantic dinner or a party of 25 people. You will not be disappointed.
S. D.
Good experience. Staff were lovely, quite attentive. Has good selection in the menu although took us 15 mins to get through it as it was extensive. Food and drinks were delicious
A. C.
It offers amazing food and probably the best pizza in London. The restaurant is run by Italians, making the waiting staff welcoming and friendly and the pizza is one of the best pizza I've ever tried (coming from an Italian). You can get different Italian beers as well as nice cocktails.
P. T.
Huge portions, affordable, speedy service and delicious food. Perfect for a late dinner.
I also hear their gelato is good but I didn’t manage to order some (too full from all that pasta) - looks like I’ll just have to come back!
c. b.
There are not many places like this in London.
The restaurant is cosy and big, always busy and slightly noisy, with many decorations that enrich the Italian experience.
The place is divided into a bar zone, with high tables and a massive screen, the bar is full of authentic Italian spirits, drinks and gelatos, bartenders are smiley and competent.
Rest of the restaurant is the 'pizzeria', with its traditional wood oven.
The food is great, generous portions, from the iconic pastas to meat and seafood mains, quality ingredients and lots of choices.
Nothing else can be said, just try and taste the Italian experience of London
X. L.
One of the best italian pizza in all London. I would suggest to book a table to avoid queuing, as it is a popular place located in North London. Nice menu options and authentic italian style. Highly recommended and a place where making a visit is always worth.
J.
One of the best restaurants I've been to in London, its a favourite of mine and friends. The menu is very big and the quality is fantastic, it can get very busy and noisy but thats a testament to its popularity.
F. K.
Went here this evening with my partner and 2 friends. We had wondeful wine and beers. The starters were very nice. Mains were where we were garvely disappointed the fritto misto was so incredibly greasy and it stated that it came 'on a bed of tomatoes and red onions' we received 2 halves of a cherry tomato. My friends lamb was tough and chewy. The saving glory was the pasta dish. I came away feeling uncomfortable after being full of fried greasy food.
t. i.
James has been amazing and so glad he looked after us
C. A.
Amazing food and amazing service. I have lived in the area for many years and it's still my favourite restaurant, no other comes close.
J. L.
Super friendly italian owners! Gnocchi and risotto are nice but i bet the pizzas with their woodfire stone oven would be even more impressive. Gelato and tiramisu are so creamy and smooth with right amount of sweet (chocolate hazelnut ice cream is a bit more on the sweeter side though). Lurrrrrvvvve the pistachio gelato!
C. A.
Really good italian food. Great service and reasonable prices. Only negative point: too loud!
A. L.
Super nice food and Aperol! Friendly staff. We were a super big group celebrating a friend's birthday and everything was great. Worth coming back.
G. S.
Really good food and a great atmosphere. Looks, sounds and tastes like authentic Italian. Highly recommended
K. D.
Fantastic food. Great service. Reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Good selection of wines. Strongly reccomended. An amaxing place to be.
S. K.
Couldn’t recommend this place enough! Have been coming here for years and the service has always been so good. First time being served by James today and he’s a gem. Thanks Pappagone for the excellent service!
D. S. (.
Very good pizza, sort of Napolitain style.
Good ingredients and thick crust :)
Ran by Italians people, it feltike being in Italy for real. So you if feel like eating Italian, definitely it's worth a visit here.
A. J.
Absolutely brilliant pizza place - great value, top notch Italian style pizzas, friendly staff. It's not the place for a quiet meal - it's VERY raucous and jam-packed with large outings and families. But it's FUN and the food comes really quick, which is good when you're hungry... and trust me you will leave full. Great home-made ice-cream too. Definitely the best pizza place in North London that I've found.
M. A.
The food is so tasty, staff friendly. Just be warned .. no booking, no chance of tasting their fabulous, homely menu.
N. “. H.
Nice friendly comfortable atmosphere. Always full and cosy. Food is good just a few things could improve the pizza tomato sauce should be more seasoned needs more herbs olive oil should be on the tables to dress the salad. Little things perfect a meal and should not be overlooked. Sorry! Good cooks in my house.
L. K.
Best Italian in London. Also the best carbonara I’ve ever had - can’t order it anywhere else now. Amazing value for money and friendly service. Also great ice-cream and amazing deserts! Best to book when coming in the evening or weekends as it gets quite busy.
L. C.
Very nice italian restaurant, the food was excellent and reminded me of the good food that I eat when I'm in Italy.
D. F.
My grandsons love this restaurant and staff are so friendly and good with kids
M. N.
The staff is 100% Italian. This place is more Italian than Italy. Hands down the best pizza in London. I particularly recommend pizza Parmigiana, featuring stunningly delicious fried aubergines. Notice everything else beyond pizza (pastas, meats, fish, etc.) is also phenomenal. Couldn't recommend more!
P. H.
Always a good vibe and authentic tasting stone baked pizza! Free parking after 6.30- Can't go wrong!
S. R.
Great place, always busy and buzzing, and the food is good. Burrata starter never disappoints and the tomato sauce on the pizza is tremendous. Service is quick, friendly and efficient and there's often a limoncello on the house on the way out.
M. P.
Food was nice, especially the pizza.
The salad I received with my starter lacked taste, as did the prawns.
However, the pizza was the best. I ordered a simple margarita with parsley and some chillies. It looked simple, but was extremely full of taste and smelt divine. Oh yes this was real Pizza made by professionals. No over the top, toppings, a nice crust, with just enough cheese.
The promises were a bit dated, and the parking is extortionate for diesel car owners. So if your visiting, park away from the main. Or better still, take the train. It's a short walk from Finsbury Park.
Well worth the train journey.
If I could give 4.5 I would have. But sorry, the starter didn't do anything.
Would I return? Oh yes. Hopefully, bery soon
M. L.
Such a great place to eat! Staff is friendly and efficient and food is absolutely amazing!
Y. H.
Excellent pizza and pasta dishes. Reasonable prices and friendly & efficient service. Highly recommended!
B. S.
Love this place very hospitable.. reasonably priced and great food. I come here with my mrs and love it everytime.. sit outside in summer and inside in winter.. amazing atmosphere too. Staff are friendly and their pizza and pastas ars both very nice
I. M.
Best pizza and pasta place near Finsbury park. It's always crowded and lively. The prices are ok for the quantity you get. The tiramisu was delicious! And they have ice creams that look amazing. Next time, I will try them.
J. S.
Best place for authentic Italian food. Couldn't recommend it more, can get a little busy though
G. A.
Very good Italian restaurant. Very busy and lively, and most all authentically italian
I. P.
Great by pizza dough. Toppings could have been more interesting and placed evenly all over
G. G.
We got food with delivero . It's ok, ok taste but not really rich of flavours and salt was missing everywhere.next time we will try the pizzas .
A. A.
Just came back from Venice and needed a hit of that real Italian.. thoroughly enjoyed
b. h.
Bit of the pity the steak doesn't come with any sauces, would've be nice with a pepper corn sauce. Asked for medium and got rare but they were more then happy 2 cook longer. Bannoffe pie and pistachio gellato 😊
s. r.
Very vibrant and lively place, always very busy. Food is amazing, portions are big and reasonably priced, Would definitely recommend
B. S. (.
This Italian restaurant, makes you feel like your in Italy. Such a great atmosphere, great little outdoor area to sit in the summer. The mussels and generally the seafood is delicious.
A. A.
Hands down the best pizza in London, possibly better than what I’ve had in Italy too. Pizza parmigiana and san Daniele...if it’s your first visit that’s what you need to get otherwise you’ll miss out. And the banoffee is also the best I’ve ever had.
The staff are so nice and welcoming too, lovely place and really enjoy going there.
K. S.
My fave Italian in London.
Been coming to the restaurant for more than 7 years. The quality of food and service never drops.
Highly recommend
S. C.
We came here for a birthday meal and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious and the wine was delectable. The restaurant was very busy and a little noisy but none the less I still had a wonderful evening
L. B.
The one, the only (until they opened a twin in Elephant and Castle...) Fantastic atmosphere, great food, brilliant staff and it's true - a nice place to stuff your face! Our favourite Italian restaurant in London.
s. M.
Great food, great atmosphere. Best spot for watching the matches of Italy at the Euros. On top of that they also found the sunglasses that I had lost while jumping for Italy's goal! Thanks very much
K. K.
Great, authentic Italian food. Lovely, polite staff.
G. T.
This is one of my favourite Italian restaurant in London and it's also the most genuine and close to a proper Italian one in London. Everything is Italian. From the atmosphere, the staff, the food is exceptionally fresh and home made. I like having pizza, that is less thick than the Napolitan style, but starters, main courses (especially pasta) and also grilled meat and fish are incredibly good and tasty!
d. f.
The staff are always so welcoming and lovely, service is quick, the atmosphere is lively, and the food is always amazing. There's a reason it's always packed!
S. S.
A beautiful and friendly family atmosphere, the food was amazing, portions are great and a local gem.
V. N. T.
The food was amazing and good services.
A. S.
Great food and service and nice buzzy atmosphere. Well priced/cheap Italian food with good extensive menu
s. n.
Excellent food served by very able staff, highly recommend
L. I.
Very authentic Italian place. If you want to eat and feel the italian food
M. K.
Excellent, warm service. Tasty Italian macaroni/pasta, sauce needs to be seasoned by yourself if you like extra spicy. Still remember a smell of fresh parmigiano :)) Deliciosa!!!
P. R.
Fantastic pizzas, pasta, and genuine Italian vibe. Gelato cups are great. One of the best (if not the best) Italian restaurants in London!
D. J.
Love this place, friendly staff, amazing food, nothing to complain about!
J. M. N.
I had dinner with a bunch of friends, one is celiac and they have a gluten free dough so she could enjoy a pizza too. They don’t have vegan options so I asked them the vegetarian without mozzarella, the waitress was very helpful and also warned me the spinach’s were cooked with butter so they would replace it for other vegetables. The pizza was amazing! (And very big). I would come back.
R. P.
We came to this place for a meeting. we heard about this spot from many people. Well, we were not disappointed. we were warmly welcomed by the staff and we had a fantastic feeling. The meal was delicious. We enjoyed every moment and we will visit this place again. we highly recommend this place.
R. P.
It was AMAZING. Like the food was amazing... like wow. The deep fried mozzarella balls and the anchovies pizza was perfect.
R.
Its a real italian food price good quality food very good recommended 👌
A. L.
So happy this is just a stone throw away from me. Very generous plates of pasta, friendly & attentive team. Feels like I’m on holiday every time I visit.
P. P.
Lovely place and food. One of my favorite restaurant in Finsbury Park.
S. G.
The best pizza I've ever had in London so far. Actually it was a calzone, really tasty and the pizza dough was absolutely perfect. Cherry on top Del Piero jersey...fantastic evening
J. O.
Friendly atmosphere, quick service, polite staff and tasty pizza
T. R. M.
Great pasta dishes, great service and a lovely atmosphere in the whole place.
S. 2.
Excellent community pizzeria. Extremely busy but service was very good and the food was excellent. Strong Covid protocols in place. Will definitely visit again.
G. D.
Fab food., fab service and great value and tasty tasty food . Well worth a look. And the gelato is divine !
S. C.
Every time I come here, the atmosphere is great, staff are very friendly and very welcoming. Every dish I've had is always well cooked, hot & delicious. Continues to be my favourite Italian. Its always busy and they often seem to be very booked up which is a great sign.
Reasonable pricing and the Ice cream is very tasty!
A. Z.
Great place for pizza. I visited with 8 others - I initially booked for 6 at 6:30 but plans changed and the staff were extremely accommodating and allowed me to change this last minute! The service was extremely friendly, prompt, and efficient. The food was plentiful, very tasty and they even gave us boxes at the end in case we wanted to take anything away! There's also outdoor seating on the road as an option. Definitely worth a visit.
My only reason for docking a star is that in the context of the current pandemic, both taps in the male toilet were broken, and one of the dispensers had run out of soap, which isn't ideal. Luckily there was a dedicated staff member cleaning toilets and monitoring queues so the staff did everything else to keep the place safe for us all.
L. M.
Amazing food amazing service, can’t wait to come back
r. “. s.
For my Parents birthday i thought of treating them to a good Pizza and there’s no better place in North nor South London than Pizzeria Pappagone. I ordered off of Deliveroo and patiently waited for my order to come. I was contacted by James, the Head Waiter informing me that there has been a problem with the Delivery Drivers and he will do the best he can to sort it out, 20 mins later I find James at my door with my order. Simply incredible customer service and look out for customers. I’ve been going to Pappagone since i was a child and it has never failed but this time i was really surprised by the determination their staff have to deliver a great experience. Literally. James, you saved my Parents Birthday celebration, Thank you Very much !!
Simply Brilliant !!!
B. R.
I went today for first time with my family! I have coeliac disease so is difficult for me to find a place that makes gluten free pizzas or if the make the dough is usually frozen. But in this ocassion the dough was hand open fresh and the taste it was so good! The ham on the pizza was so yummy and not dry like in other places. The staff was also very kind. Really pleasant lunch, i will came back for sure
E. G.
Great local Italian eatery with bustling atmosphere. It is clearly pretty popular with the local crowd. In general the service was quick and nice and the food was very well done. The prices are very reasonable as well. Definitely would recommend! They also show Italian football matches in case it is what you are after.
R. S.
An excellent authentic Italian place to eat, great atmosphere, super friendly and fast service. If you're looking for a relaxed high class bougie place then this is not the place for you. If you like good honest food and a great atmosphere then check this place out. I will be going again!
S. P.
Friendly staff...good food...great cocktails.....bit noisy....book before you go...
a. m. l.
Really nice Pizza. I can def say one of the best I ever had in London. We went for New Year's eve and despite it was packed the service was great. We waited few mins for our table to be ready, but once we sat down and ordered the food, it came very quickly. We order also a starter and a plate of pasta, which was huge and very tasty. Our server was kind and attentive. We will soon go and visit the other site in Elephant and Castle.
F. M.
Great food and pizzas. Friendly staff will accommodate your needs. Could have gotten 5*, the clamps would have been great if it has less sands, a thorough wash before cooking will fix the problem. Very tasty sauce though.
C. B.
Came here on a busy Friday night, but I could certainly say that it was very well managed, the food came quickly and was very delicious, interesting versatile menu and good selection of alcoholic drinksIand gelato. Also felt that our server was friendly attentive and very hard working so props to her. Make sure to make a reservation if you'd like to come here as it is very popular(and rightly so).
P. R.
Intense place to eat, very family friendly and amazing in the summer. Pizza was top notch. Would recommend trying to go during a working week when maybe its less crazy busy
s. G.
Always busy. Real Italian food. The steak is huge. U pY for the quality. Its worth it.
L.
I reserved for a big group and they were great. We ended up having a few more then expected and they were very accommodating. I loved that they didn't do one big order but divided us, it made things easier when it came to paying! Food was great, I ordered a pizza and was very tasty. Food came around the same time too! I will definitely be coming back 🤗
S. C.
Best. Italian.
We are local, have gone so many times and it's consistently great! It's always very busy with a great atmosphere. The team are very accommodating and will squeeze you in if haven't booked. It is worth the wait. The pizza, the pasta, the ice cream sundaes... I would eat it all if I could, it's just SO good and one of my favourite places. Go!
R. M.
Absolutely lovely, the food is great staff is welcoming and friendly would recommend that you should try pizzeria pappagone.
F. A.
Delicius Italian pizza and very well organized restaurant.
J.
Tasty pizza, attentive staff, good prices

Delicious pastas, cooked to perfection with really flavoursome sauce. Vibe was chilled but with energy which is nice to have back again. Would definitely recommend - worth calling up in advance and booking as this is clearly a popular and busy spot!
p. s.
Great food and atmosphere. Servers are very friendly.
V. W.
I came to eat here a couple of times. Really good food!!! really like the busy atmosphere. I've tried their main dishes, their pasta, their pizza. I would say their pizzas and main dishes (e.g. T-bone steak) were amazing and one of the best!!! However, their pasta is your typical generic pasta you find in any italian restaurant.
S. L.
I loved everything about this restaurant, from the food to the service to the ambiance. The fact that it was packed on a weekday evening spoke volumes. I highly recommend the pizza! The calamari is first-class. You cannot leave from here without sampling the gelato. It is exquisite and the scoops are extremely generous!
T. B.
It really cheap and very nice stuff r amazing i would recommend it
M. C.
Wonderful, warm Italian restaurant. Great food, fantastic service, and friendly staff. Watch out for the fake glass of beer gag, (you won't get over it quickly especially if you leap out of your chair like some do). The atmosphere is very lively and can be quite loud during the 'happy birthdays', but the food is worth it. Try any of the pasta dishes, and seafood starters. Worth the trek across London.
A. R.
Lovely staff and food. Only thing is they don't offer you your change back if yoh pay with cash. You already pay a service charge and should be discretionary whether you want to tip further.
M. P. (.
Amazing pizza, feels like you are in Italy!
Pizza Campagnolo and pizza San Daniele are my absolute favorite.
The staff is very polite and they always follow my instructions (I order from Uber eats)
I absolutely love this place! ❤️
A. B.
I'm updating my review of this place - I first reviewed it with three stars after recently moving to the area two years ago and eating here at 1am. Safe to say, the staff were likely tired after a long shift and the atmosphere was I suppose what you would expect at that time (i.e. a bit dull). Fast forward two years and I have eaten here many, many times (in between lockdowns) and staff have always been friendly and attentive. My Italian friends tell me that the pizza is some of the best in London but I'm not sure I could tell. I keep coming back for the truffle pasta!
E. C.
I usually enjoy Pappagone but on this particular occasion I found my clam pasta abit tasteless and quite a few of the clams had sand in it.
C. A.
I suppose the best thing about this place is the service and the staff they are friendly and treat you as though you are looking lost family, although the portion sizes are a little on the small side particularly as it's pasta which cost next to nothing. however what they like in portions on the mains they certainly make up for with their delicious range of ice creams probably the best I've tasted. great place for a birthday party in fact when we were there at least 13 people had happy birthday sang to them out of tune lol
Y. C.
Famous local pizzeria, tried deep freid aubergine with basil, flavour spot on !
M. S.
Made by Italians for Italians! 🇮🇹
Food is excellent, all the staff nice and the pizzeria is a real Italian pizzeria, highly recommended 🍕🍺
H. H.
Love love love! Probably the first time I taste an authentic Italian pizza. The crust is chewy and not dry as American pizza. The portion size is huge and the prices are very reasonable. I would rate it 6 stars if I can!
D.
Can't fault the food or service - I always have pizza which delicious - generous in size and toppings, freshly cooked to order and served hot and crispy. The staff work really hard to get the food out - the restaurant is packed most evenings and weekend lunchtimes. Expect a wait when it's so busy, but it's worth it every time. Very popular with Italian customers which speaks for itself. If you enjoy simple home cooked Italian food, then this is the place to go.
F. G.
We fell in love with this place! Gluten free options, lovely team, amazing pasta and great wine menu. 💗
S. A.
My girlfriend is Italian and she told me about this place, said it was the best pizza she's had outside of Italy. I visited the Finsbury Park branch twice. Two days before Christmas last year and on New Year's Day. Both visits were very pleasant and both friends who I went with were also very impressed. Pizza is delicious and authentic and the gelato is wonderful, especially the rum and raisin one...wow! One of the best pizza places in London, for sure. Well worth a visit.
M. V.
Nice familiar environment, very much like an 80s italian trattoria. Love the pizza and usually also other plates such as soups, starters. Yesterday got a parmigiana and delivered it to my place but I was ill soon. I guess this is an exception but I think it was not fresh as it should be.
A. M.
Greatly priced great atmosphere and staff are very attentive absolutely recommended
T. S.
Been here about 10 times already. Such an amazing place, serves pizza and pasta to die for 😋
D. D.
This place is incredibly popular and serves well-priced tasty Italian food. Portion sizes are decent and we recently had a very tasty buffalo mozzarella starter. Only drawback is due to its popularity it can be very noisy with lots of young kids, so can feel a bit hectic.
B. M.
Food was excellent and prices were very reasonable. Starters took a while to come out which was fine and wouldn't normally affect my score, but while my wife was finishing her main, the waitress came over to tell us that they needed the table. It was all sorted and we stayed/refused to go, but that was all that cost them the 5th star
S. S.
Great food and good service. Portions are pretty generous.
C. L.
Always a great place to stuff your face. Never dissapoints. Really honest pricing with honest portions. Whether pizza or pasta, food is always beautiful. Service 10/10, very polite, quick and efficient. They can easily accommodate you with any preferences you have.
d. k.
Great Italian food and reasonable prices!
M. K.
All round perfect experience, food amazing
A. V.
My favourite Italian place, the food is always so fresh, flavoursome and quick to come (considering how busy they can get). The staff are always so polite too. Couldn’t praise this place enough.
J. M.
Always great. Super busy but that's because you get such good food at great prices.
A.
Super friendly staff, great food. Would recommend the homemade pasta and the homemade panna cotta
M. T. M.
Excellent service and great food quality as always! They make you feel very welcome even in the most busy times.
C. P.
The place is go when I’m missing home. Huge selection of everything. The pasta is unbelievably good, fair price, big portions the pizza is fantastic and made with very fresh ingredients. Last but not least.. the gelato! Make sure if you don’t have room for it to bring some home!
C. H.
Been a patron here for about 7 years and have enjoyed every visit. The pizza and pasta here are top notch but it's the starters and desserts that always get me coming back. Great atmosphere and really good service (especially considering how busy it gets). I'd advise you book as it's very popular.
Y. W.
Fantastic pizzas served in a great family friendly environment. Staff were lovely, informative and passionate about the menu. A great night out and would definitely recommend.
p. b.
Nice pizza (good mozzarella and tasty tomato sauce, I have seen better base bread). Comfortable environment (not too packed, not too noisy, warm and clean). Friendly staff (apart from the lady screaming at the end of the night for late comers).
A. N.
Love it!!
G. S.
As always the food, drink and service were fantastic. it was my grandaughters first visit. Franchesca was amazing to us
S. S.
Best pizza in London...nothing more, nothing less. Seafood linguine also rocks. Friendly and real. Amazing with little people, the chefs showed my nephew how to throw dough and then allowed him to top it and fired his mini pizza - made his day! Legends
J. C. D.
Traditional Italian restaurant with reasonable prices. I love the authentic way they cook pasta.
I still give then a 5 star but they could improve the service, don't seem to be very professional which unfortunately is too common in London.
S. W.
The first experience was almost 5yrs ago, one of my friend took me to this Italian restaurant while i was visiting London. The food there was sooooo good and staff were so friendly! Had a good impression at first, I visited again few yrs after. They were always same with big smile and good food. I enjoyed wine there which they selected.
I dft would recommend to all.
R. K.
Good food, good service. A lot of empty tables and they seated us next to other customers a meter away. They could have made use of the entire space better in terms of seating customers. But good food and service.
G. S.
My friends and family are so happy that pappagone is still going even after covid. Went tonight and it had the same buzz and the same great food especially the pizza, parmigiana is my absolute favourite. Best restaurant in London without a doubt and a very safe place to eat.
s. u.
This is my favourite Italian restaurant In London .the food is fresh and very generous portions .the pasta and pizza are made in house and the manager is very nice and friendly . I have been visiting this restaurant for more then 6 years and the food quality is still amazing .I would recommend to try their ice-cream for desert , the bowl of mussles in tomato sauce for starter and for main is too hard to chose but there is plenty of options . P.S the garlic bread is very big only order if you are sharing . Love them all
R. G.
I have been going to this restaurant for for more than 10 years and it has not ever failed to impress. The nicest pizza in London by far, the service is incredible and the atmosphere is like being in Italy. I have been reading the bad reviews of the restaurant and I am disgusted that some people have nothing better to do with their lives then write horrible reviews on this restaurant. For anyone thinking about going here, I have one thing to tell you. If you go here, you will never want to leave. Thank you to pappagone for keeping me full for all these years
M. V.
Delicious pizza and pasta with a great atmosphere and nice staff. There is no pressure to rush and you are able to enjoy your food. The setting is very rustic with tiled walls and wooden tables
Overall very nice
E. P.
Simply the best Italian, ever! Family run, food is excellent, staff are very warm, friendly and service is efficient. Even on a busy weekend food often comes within 10 mins of ordering and you can be in/out in 30 mins. Always happy to accommodate walk ins and make any change you want to a dish without an issue! Can’t really say much more to sing their praises!
O. A.
Amazing! Such a Lovely Authentic Italian restaurant! the prices are absolutely amazing. we had a meal with 2 cocktails 2 meals and a huge starter only paid £38. cute date night spot!
S. L.
We had a lovely meal great service and polite staff, but a little bit over crowded.
J. J.
So good to have some food here after so long. It's the real deal!!! Great italian food.
Thank you
M.
Pretty good quality food.
I haven't been to the actual restaurant but I ordered online.
The price isn't that crazy but it's a tiny bit more expensive than the restaurants near the area.
I had the margarita pizza and it is delicious (pretty plain but well made)
I also ordered pasta Bolognese and it was delicious aswell. I would have preferred if there was a bit of grated cheese maybe on the side but luckily I had cheese at home.
The only thing they messed up was my ice cream.
It was suppose to come with fresh fruits (kiwi etc) but it came plain in a to-go coffee cup.
The ice cream itself is actually delicious. If you love dark chocolate you'll love theirs . I had dark chocolate , raspberry sorbet and dulce de leche. Honestly all 3 are nice (I know it's a weird combo) but a tiny bit pricey.
Z.
Went there for lunch with a few friends on Sunday. I got a calzone and a bottle of Chianti and it was probably one of the best pizzas I’ve had in years! And the wine was equally as good. Will defiantly go here again and would defiantly recommend it as it’s very cheap and the service is very professional and polite.
T. C.
This place never to deliver! Great food, pretty fast service and the price to food quality/quantity rate is perfect. Its always packed with people so I would suggest a reservation, especially for groups more than 3. One of the most authentic places I've been in London with a lot of different choices to choose from, something for everyone. Definitely suggest it!
S. W.
The restaurant was amazing. I required to make me a vegan spaghetti with tomato sauce and aubergine(which on the menu with mozzarella inside)and so mozzarella can be on the side for my friend to enjoy. I tell you the flavour was amazing yummy and fed my tummy. Good potion of food, full of love from chefs.
Great service.
B. J.
A buzzing north London institution for good reason. Filled every night with locals, students, families and people who just want really good pizza.
N. H.
Pappapappapappagoney! Love this place. There have been so many "authentic" pizzerias opening in London over the last few years but they all lack buzz and Pappagone is always always buzzing with friendly waiters and customers stuffing their faces. And so we should. The food is excellent. I hugely appreciate that on the aubergine pizza (the Pizza Parmigiana) the aubergines are put on in round slices as opposed to diced up.
A. O.
Had a really nice late lunch here on match day, the atmosphere was brilliant, the staff friendly and the food delicious, really reasonably priced and quick. We had olives which were great, the a vegetarian pizza and bacon and broccoli pasta.
Would recommend, even if you arent an arsenal fan!
k. G.
Went on a Friday at 6.30pm without booking, just about got a table, very busy, friendly staff and the food is good. I had the sword fish which was perfectly cooked. Well worth a visit but if you are going might be worth booking a table in advance.
J. B.
Great pasta here and very attentive staff! Had lunch here today with 3 other people and we will be back!
D. P.
I had the best party ever here. The food was great and probably the nicest pizza I have ever eaten (pizza parmigiana with deep fried aubergine) and the staff were amazing. It's starts from as soon as you enter with a lovely welcome and continues through the evening. Will definitely be going back.

Fantastic pizzeria, brilliant atmosphere, lovely friendly staff and of course - top class pizza. Awesome italian gelato and aperol spritzes too. So much character and always a party atmosphere. Great for both couples and groups. Book at busy times to guarantee a table - this place is ALWAYS packed!! If you're waiting for a table though there is a bar area you can wait and get drinks in first. Highly recommended.
r. s.
Amazing! I feel like home every time I go!
I suggest you book if the weekend is coming, otherwise there is no problem. The staff is polite and efficient and the pizza tastes really good, like home!
If you want to try something good other than pizza, order the pane carasao as a starter, you won't regret it!
s. a.
Fantastic restaurant! Each time we go the service is wonderful, friendly and polite. Pappagone us extremely child friendly. We've recently had a birthday celebration there with a table full of ten year olds and they all had a brilliant time. The food was perfect and delicious. Would definitely recommend and will be returning very soon!
N.
Very good, got a pizza and a main and that was plenty to split between 2 people. Good size portions and yummy cocktails. Added bonus of midnight closing. Will definitely come again.
D. N.
The Holy Mecca of Italian food in London. The food is ridiculously good. Prices are fair and the portion. Sizes are great. I have been to this restaurant at least 100 times and I mean that. I would recommend this restaurant hands down. From the starters to the mains and the desserts everything is on point.
E. M.
I am Italian and i used to be a fan of this place. Pizza used to be amazing, crispy thin and large good ingredients...now is chewy ,to thick, too burned, ingredients are ok. Maybe they change the cook. I hope you will do something about it.
They serve other Italian specialities last time they still looking good.
M. P.
I've love this place, everytime in london... north est area it's a must.
Fresh Italian food, quality products very well prepared by proper Italian chef.
Also it's an affordable price for the quality of the product you pay.
R. K.
Cannot be faulted, great friendly service from this family run pizzeria. Very popular in the local area. I've had long evenings here and a quick bite when in a rush, each time a great experience. Me and my partner love the Calamari and the tomato garlic bread before a pizza, which they are more than happy to box up for you to take away. My go-to Pizza place in London
S. B.
The ultimate Italian restaurant. Tried the pizza, amazing quality. Staff are very friendly. I'd recommend this place to any Italian food loving person.
R. S.
Great pizza — one of the best selections in London — but it’s the atmosphere that sets this place apart. They really know how to manage the crowd and keep everyone entertained. Great for groups.
L. S.
Quality. I love this joint. My wife and I usually share a starter followed by pizza and pasta. The pizza is decent and the pasta with speck is the bomb! I salivate just thinking about the pasta. It's very noisy and always busy and the staff prioritise regulars so be prepared to wait if you're not there every other weekend.
L. M.
Had an amazing experience today at pappagones, been dining there 21 years, and I'm only 34, the food was lovely as always, we sat outside today.
We had the tomato garlic bread and pollo Francesca which is a warm chicken salad, for mains we had to custom made pizzas, followed by limoncello shots to finish a wonderful meal! Thanks guys
E. S.
I enjoyed the pizza, it was very good.
However, they asked us to leave as soon as we finished to eat and the man next to the entrance (perhaps the manager?) wasnt't that polite. He was very grumbling when I asked him to turn on the heater (it was freezing next to the entrance) and when one of my friend hit his head to something on the wall, he replied "that one was there even before".
Not overall impressed.
O. M.
This is one of the best Italian's in North London. Run by lots of Italians and a great atmosphere. Usually greeted with a warm hand shake. Often showing Italian football in the bar area. Lots of seating (100+?) but best to book ahead on the weekends.
Great big pizzas, excellent pasta dishes, lots of choice (good for vegetarians). Classic gelato too.
V. P.
I do love it here... when I can get in!
It is run by a family of wonderfully kind people. Be ware though on a weekend get there early to get a table on a weekend is extremely difficult! People are willing to wait an hour or so for one!
We generally go during the week. The food is excellent, really really tasty. Menu is classic italian food, and even my Italian friends say it is one of the best in London.
Some of the male waiters are also very nice on the eye, and if you smile at them when you arrive you normally get a kiss or two, (the continental way naturally!) but that always makes my day!
Good food, at a great price. A brilliant place for friends, laughter and good good food.
S. M.
Quite a popular place - book beforehand if you know you want to go. Staff are all very friendly. I had pizza which was great! My husband had a pasta dish, which he enjoyed, but has had better... Great atmosphere.
P. C.
My Favorite Italian restaurant
Well worth my 40 min drive for a pizza.
Pizzeria Pappagone is a fond favorite amongst friends and family. The wood fire Stone base oven pizza is the best I've had outside Italy. The pasta is amazing and the Gelato out of this world.
Since discovering this establishment I've made the journey regularly from south London.
Highly recommend
D. C.
The best family-run Italian restaurant in London. Abundant portions, great quality food at a cheap price. Kitchen open till late. Book a table on Fri and Sat nights.
N. Z.
As always great place for some traditional style pasta and pizza. Great atmosphere and rightfully busy. Staff are great and attentive. Definitely the place to go for some Italian food
J. W.
I live in the same street as Pappagone and it is by far my favourite restaurant in the area, perhaps even in London. The food is amazing, the service is terrific, the atmosphere is wonderful and it's also very reasonably priced.
The gnocchi with veal is quite possibly one of the most delicious dishes I've ever ordered in a restaurant. Oh and the pizzas are of course a particular highlight!
The restaurant can get quite busy in the evenings so book ahead if you're going on a weekend night. In short, go there and experience it all for yourself!
M. K.
In short, great food, very friendly service, and excellent value. I particularly loved the Pizza Parmeggiana, but it was all great. very generous portions, went for lunch and had to skip dinner!!
Where they can improve: the chilli oil definitely needs a bit more kick to it. Right now it's more oily than spicy.
Definitely going there again!
T. T.
Been a few times. Great pizza, great starters and lasagna! Welcoming waiters. Very good experience!
A. L.
Stopped on my way home. Ordered 2 pizzas to go. Very quick and efficient service. Pizza on a thin crust, fresh and tasty but why they use pickled peppers instead of fresh one I don't get it. Overall good value for money.
A. M.
I was hesitating for a year to write a good review, because it's already very hard to get a table without booking, but they really deserve every good rating.
Very nice Italian restaurant, superb pizza (I recommend the Calzone), always super nice service.
a. s.
One of the best pizza in London, if not the best, is at Pappagone Pizzeria. (It is also one of the cheapest you could find in town!)
Everything is excellent and the pizza is super delicious. The starters are also tasty and the service kind and dedicated. The restaurant is spacious but always full of people, so booking needed during the weekend (or patience) and a little noise. It is a must try pizzeria, it would be a fantastic pizza also in Italy. Be back soon.
P. S.
These are the best pizzas I've ever had in the UK! The aubergine Parmigiana is drool-inducingly good... Service is prompt and efficient but the waiting staff are busy and are not always warm - but with food this good, who cares? Nom nom nom.
M. F.
Lovely restaurant, great hospitality and outdoor seating. Highly recommended but make sure you book in advance.
T. H.
The best pizza place in North London by far. The service, as well, is outstandingly courteous and friendly - I've been here four or five times over the course of the last year, and every time have been greeted with a huge smile and a warm handshake from the seating steward. Unsurprisingly for a restaurant with 'Pizzeria' in its name, the pizzas are the best dishes on the menu, although I've had a steak here as well once which was also really good. The home-made gelatos for dessert are outstanding, and the value-for-money's not too bad for London. All in all, one of my favourite restaurants in the whole city.
V. B.
Great upbeat place to eat. I have always loved this place. And I have always recommended however recently a friend and I visited and the experience was not so good. We were disappointed as our starters were clearly overdone and the Prawn starter does not come cheap at around £10. Time was limited as they were due to close for lunch at 3pm. My friend is extremely skeptical about sending food back to the kitchen, (not my general response) however, I obliged and chose not to return the starters instead informed the waiter at the end of the meal. To my amazement I was very strongly challenged when paying the bill and exercised my right to waive the tip this was despite respectfully explaining the starters were disappointingly overdone. Evidence had also remained on the plates when cleared. My friend and I were left almost speechless at how the waiter fought to explain that the salaries of the staff were low and that by not paying the tip we were taking food out of their mouths!!! I always believe the tip to be an expression of satisfaction on the customers part... However he went on to say had I sent the starters back they would have replaced. Granted tbh that was a fair point however, between the chef and the initial waiter could neither of them see the prawns were overdone?. It was visible to me as soon as I laid eyes on them.
He said as I had enjoyed the rest of my meal the tip should be paid!!!!!!!
I asked if the shoe was on the other foot would he be happy to pay a tip for a meal he wasn't able to fully enjoy???
E. K.
Yesterday 17.09.20 I had delivery via Uber Eats (for me and kids) was surprised positively with the starter zucchini and calamari frites, Burratina Pugliese great taste and the main Papardelle with broccoli and Italian bacon accompanied with the Pappagone salad and amazing Tiramisu at the end OMG Don't forget birra Moretti Zero (for me)
A. H.
Great pizzas and pasta on Stroud green road, gets quite busy, they open the folding windows in the summer, large open wood oven, nice sports TV area which has lots of space for single diners, very family friendly in the main restaurant. Also do great ice cream take away
S. S.
A meeting point for all the Italians living in London an to all of the people who like to try the how the real italian food should taste. The pizza is not the best in my opinion, but the starters and main courses: pasta, seafood, steak, veggie dishes are simply the opened door of the Italian cuisine. Highly recommended!!!!!!!
S. G.
Always the best food and the best service.. CLASSIC!
J. P.
If you want authentic Italian pizza, pasta and atmosphere there is no other like it in North London. When you realise all the staff are also Italian you know you’re dealing with the right place. No wonder it’s been an N4 staple for so many years. The best
P. H.
Brilliant! As usual! Great food! Mi sento sempre come a casa!
A. R.
Lovely bustling setting, good food and service with a smile. Exactly what we needed on Saturday lunchtime. Clearly family friendly too - some good sized groups with small children having a good time too!
M. A.
My big fat mama sent me here and I am glad that I went. Beautiful food. I enjoyed it and so will you. Grazie Mille.
A. G.
Hands down the best Italian restaurant. Owner and staff are very welcoming and helpful. Pizzas are amazing, the food is always so tasty and the portion sizes are always very generous. Amazing food for reasonable prices
T. M.
Just go here. Best Italian in London
C. R.
Very good Italian restaurant and pizzeria! We had a pizza and a pasta which both taste great - like in Italian. It isn't the cheapest of place and they did charge us for bread. All in all a very pleasant experience.
P. G.
I would give this place higher stars but when I lived in this area this restaurant was my local, the service was always brilliant and food amazing. Now however, the staff are just eager to kick you out or give you a time limit. An all to familiar trend in london. Food still great.
p. p.
Finally I have been here and the expectations were more than satisfied. The food is exceptional. I had a "pollastrino al rosmarino" and it was delicious. My friends had pizza and they said it was very good. Being Italian, I am proud that such a great place can offer proper Italian food at great prices. The staff is very busy but they do their best to touch every table. As other reviews said, it is quite packed during the weekend so I preferred to have a dinner on Wednesday, it was full as well but maybe less frenetic. Highly recommended. Easy to reach, being at few minutes from Finsbury Park station.
J. H.
Best pizza I have ever had! Beats the pizza in South Africa by far and definitely the best pizza I've had in London.
Everything about Pappagone is excellent! I am a true fan of this restaurant!
M. R.
Me and my partner visited Pizzeria Pappagone last night, as we were wandering up and down the Stroud Green Road. From the number of people sitting both inside and out, we felt confident that it'd be a good place to get some food. The menu was great, with a huge selection of pizzas, pastas, salads and mains, and the pizza we got (a delicious cured beef, rocket and mozzarella one on soft thin dough - wish I could remember the name) was amaaazing.
On top of that, the wine we ordered was fantastic too, and everything was really well priced. The only downside was that the staff were a little rushed, and so paying for our bill took a little longer than we'd have liked, but otherwise, a really great night, at a great restaurant.
M. K.
Great pizza and amazing pasta. Tiramisu was awesome also a great wine selection. Very reasonably priced and the staff are funny and really friendly! Would highly recommend!
A. B.
I always visited this place every time that I have an extra time or even after work. And this place always surprising me. The quality of the food that they served is always top notch. Perfectly made fresh and surely delicious. I loved their pizza, perfectly baked and filled with different toppings. Very satisfying and interesting foods. The price is a bit expensive but definitely worth it. The ambiance is very relaxing and welcoming, and the décor is very cool. The place is conveniently located and accessible. Perfect place to go with some friends. Come and visit this place, you will never get disappointed.
T. E.
Without a doubt the best Italian I've ever stepped foot in (including those in Italy). Never fails to impress with quality of food, care of service and brilliant atmosphere. I would strongly recommend you pay this restaurant a visit.
Z. P.
What a gem! Great restaurant with an amazing atmosphere, carbonara was BANGING!
D. B.
Authentic stone baked pizzas, delicious pastas and a friendly service all go towards making the experience at this Italian restaurant a fantastically pleasant one. I have never been to Italy but I don't know if you can have a better pizza than the ones served here. The restaurant is always busy which speaks for itself and you are greeted with a handshake. Highly recommend everyone to try Pappagone.
M. I.
Not my favourite Italian food style (altough you may disagree and find it perfect), but the cocktails are great, the staff is lovely and the place has a very cool atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it to groups, birthday parties, or couples for a romantic aperitif.
J. W.
Really enjoyed this place! Lively and buzzy. Very friendly staff. The Burratina Pugliese was very tasty, and the pizza did not disappoint. Great range of wines by the glass, reasonably priced. Intended just to have a main, but eat three courses, a beer and 2 glasses wine! Very pleasant evening.
c. o.
Visit after visit this place does not disappoint. Pizzas are delicious and hard to finish, and there is a huge variety of pasta. some many things to try. And price is super reasonable for what you get. staff are always fantastic. Funny and welcome. Will be back soon!!
W. M.
I've been there for a special occasion with my girlfriend, food was amazing! I had pizza and for sure is the best pizza in London (probably best pizza in Uk). Staff is really welcoming and friendly, always smiling and focusing all the small details from A to Z.
Nothing else to add.
I will definitely come back.
MAMMA MIA!!
T. S.
The staff was a bit less attendant with us as we were nit Italians. But all together good experience. Delicious pasta and pizza, and you need to try the Italian ice-cream bowl
E.
Food is great, affordable and atmosphere is always really good - a big favourite for no frills great food & fun
R. M. G.
The only place in London you will eat good REAL Italian food. Huge menu with so much to choose from. The atmosphere adds to the whole experience you get here. Highly recommended!!!
L. V.
Delicious. Ps. Go for the tiramisu for dessert.
P. T.
I've eaten here only twice. The first time I had a pizza, which was nice enough, but not exceptional. I couldn't eat it all. The remainder was gladly packed for me to take home. The second time, I had pasta with the largest prawns I'd ever seen. The meal was scrumptious as well.
The restaurant was however a bit too noisy for me.
S. D.
So far the best pizza in London I have ever had. Excellent service, fast and surprisingly cheap compared to other pizzerias.. I recommend it! Not only pizzas are great but anything on the menu is really tasty and very authentic.
L.
Everytime I come here I have the feeling to be back in Italy (i.e. proper Italian food and proper spritz Aperol!). Moreover most of the customers are Italian. :)
The portions are generous and reasonably priced. Gluten-free pizza available too.

Great service from the staff. Excellent food with special mention for the very good gluten free pizza base. Food arrived quickly too. Their Gelato is also fantastic. Would definitely go back.
V. C.
I wish I can give you more. It's about tastes I guess. I was here just one time, not thinking on coming back unfortunately. I might be the only one thinking this, just not worth it. All that long way to be disappointed with the food. Nice staff. Too busy during the weekends. Too noisy. It wasn't like a nice buzz.. it was annoingand disturbing. Couldn't even talk to the person next to me. And the pizza, nothing special to me. I hope I can change my mind

A little pocket of Italy in the heart of North London. Pappagone feels like Italy, because its staff are Neapolitan offering authentic and delicious pizzas. Normally such a wide ranging menu would indicate a lapse in quality but on both occasions I've been here it's been delicious. Deservedly busy with a warm and local atmosphere due to its location. My favourite pizza that I've had in London.
D. C.
Delicious as always, great atmosphere and service
S. S.
Standard tasty Italian pizza. Reasonably priced overall including drinks. Bustling atmosphere but seating crammed in places, so you could end up sitting next to strangers.
L. G.
Not only are their pizzas delicious and the staff friendly, but during the January lockdown they have been delivering free pizzas to the local hospital, that alone makes them deserve your business!!!
R. M.
Good quality of pizza with a really affordable price!! If you got a birthday friend and you don't know where celebrate it, this is the place. They will put you the happy birthday song easily with cake even. It's far from the city center, but it deserve that you get until there.
L. P.
I wish I could give this place a better review as I used to come here as a child and loved it. But the waitress, upon seeing I was not fully Italian (brought up here) treated us as if we were invisible. I could see her across from us spooning the parmesan about as I tried to get her attention. Upon speaking to the manager they just said they were busy at which point I couldn't be bothered to argue. Food was okay, tiramisu isn't authentic though. Could barely taste any coffee...
C. S.
Friendly welcome and fantastic food. This is one of the best (possibly the best) Italian restaurants in North London. Prices are reasonable and their tasty pizzas and pasta dishes always cooked well.
P. S.
The best Italian in London. Just go there please. 2022 update still as good as it ever was. Brilliant!
C. d. C.
Best spriz of London, and pizzas too
F. S.
We had just a pizza and it was excellent. The multitude of customers that they have confirms that they are doing a great job. 5 stars if it was a bit cheaper.
L. R.
Beautiful ice cream
L. C.
Authentic Italian food, been here many times and highly recommend it. The food is delicious and an extensive menu to choose from. I would recommend booking a table as it's always busy because it's so good.
M. V.
Nice familiar environment, very much like an 80s italian trattoria. Love the pizza and usually also other plates such as soups, starters. Yesterday got a parmigiana and delivered it to my place but I was ill soon. I guess this is an exception but I think it was not fresh as it should be.
A. L.
Stopped on my way home. Ordered 2 pizzas to go. Very quick and efficient service. Pizza on a thin crust, fresh and tasty but why they use pickled peppers instead of fresh one I don't get it. Overall good value for money.
N. J.
Delicious Carbonara!!
Y. S.
Lovely food and service. A very lively place too.
L. “. R.
Great stone baked pizza. I have been three times. The manager shook my hand on entry which was pleasant. They should have more topping options.
C. T.
Pappagones is a really great place. Staff are fantastic & friendly got to know some of the boys there and they are funny as hell, Full of banter & humour. And the food is excellent pizza made in a wood fired oven. & Pasta dishes are also good. The portions are big so you will not go hungry. Even when I've not fancied anything to heavy, and just had bruchetta & tricolour salad I'm stuffed by the end. But there's always room for some gelato. Everything is good, food, service & value for money
Z. G.
Delicious and fairly cheap authentic Italian food😍 I am a very picky eater and they are really accommodating and friendly! 100% my new and only favourite italian restaurant🙌🏼
C. D. S.
One of my favourites places in London, love the sangria and tiramisu, but all the food is delicious and I tried almost everything!
Host always great you with a handshake and say bye to you in a familiar way, it is not a fancy place but you feel like you are in pizzeria in a little village of Italy.
A. C.
Well priced food. Great pizza, pasta and daily special menuda. Friendly staff.food can be slightly salty at times,, but is always fresh. The tiramisu is out of this world. Outdoor seating is a perk in the summer months.
J. C.
I have been here a few times and on every occasion the service and quality of the food is excellent and all the staff are actually Italian. Food is also reasonably cheap, similar price to Jamie's Italian, ask and la porchetta but the standard is not even comparable to any of these basic chain restaurants.
M. F.
Bellissimo!
The best italian restaurant I have ever been to. Being an italian myself I expect a little more than average from an Italian restaurant.
Pizzaria Pappagone is better than any italian restaurant I have ever been to in Italy itself.
The food is always delicious, the staff exceptionally friendly and playful and the service fantastic even though they are constantly busy. I have been many times and have always recommended it to friends who have always come away with the same thoughts. Cannot wait for my next meal there!
L. “. R.
Great stone baked pizza. I have been three times. The manager shook my hand on entry which was pleasant. They should have more topping options.
M. B.
My Italian friend, well I think he's Italian he has an Italian sounding accent so I think he is plus he loves Italian food... He recommended this place and he was correct, the food is fantastic. The portions were excellent and the staff were very hospitable. I'd recommend this place to anyone who wants authentic Italian food. The prices are excellent too!
S. J.
We lived locally a few years ago and Pappagone was a regular of ours. Their pizza, pasta and ice cream is always excellent and the atmosphere, especially in the evenings is lovely. It has a bar, a gelato kiosk and a huge pizza oven. Inside or out the staff are always congenial though on our last visit they were more matter-of-fact.
L. N.
I knew after my first bite I was going to leave a good review. Bolognese was fantastic.
M. L.
If you want to eat something fresh, tasty, and well served this is a place for you. The coffee here is not bad, had a crema in the top was well done and ideal to finish the dinner with a good taste inyour mouse. Just four starts because too noisy all the time
J. O.
The owners of Pizzaria Pappagone have taken pizza making and turned it into an art. Without a doubt the best pizza outside of Italy. In the true Italian spirit you always receive the warmest of welcomes and are treated like a guest at their house rather than their restaurant.
I would recommend booking early as it tends to get packed especially on a Friday evening.
d. b.
This is the best restaurant, not just in London, not just in the UK, but the world.
Everything is perfect, I don’t know how they do it.
Having probably been over a hundred times, I can’t wait to go back again.
R. O.
Delicious Italian food served by friendly passionate staff. Seating area out front for around 10 covers with many more inside. Fast service and a great price
V. M.
Extremely solid pizza, I would recommend to everyone. Great quality for a great price (the majority of pizzas are sub £10). No complaints to be had. Pictured is the Pizza Campagnola (salami used was of high quality)
F. M.
This place is fantastic. The food is in a league of its own and the staff go above and beyond to make your visit special.
I highly recommend visiting!

Lovely food and atmosphere 👌
T. W.
The best pizza in London!!!!I love visiting Italy, amazing beautiful country. I miss so much Italian food in London therefore when I visited and tried this restaurant in the London I was really nicely surprised with great tasty food & lovely sweet people.
Again really great Italian atmosphere and I also do recommend yummy ice cream:P

Amazing food, Amazing atmosphere and friendly family friendly service. I couldn't recommend this place any higher. Genuinely one of the best places to go if you want big portions of homemade italian food
G. S.
Another fab night at our favourite Italian. Great food, impeccable service, friendly staff and a brilliant atmosphere. What more can I say? Top-notch - which explains why it is always busy, and why we visit on a regular basis.
R. W.
Such a warm welcome here. The place was buzzing. Food is great and so many choices. We all had pizza. Too full for ice cream. Will have to go back soon.
L. B.
Among the top three speedy Italian diners in London.
The produce they use for the pizzas and appetizers is phenomenally fresh.
For what it is; the price is steep but there's a reason they are packed every day and the nearby eateries struggle to hold footfall.
*Cough*la porcetta*cough*
For dessert, hit the lemon or dark chocolate ice-cream, I recommend.

Very good italian food ,the table they to small
J. S.
Very reasonably priced, authentic local Italian. Been here a couple of times, pizzas have on both occasions been very nice. House wine (red) is lovely. Lively restaurant, great for large groups and families.
D. C.
The food is good but the staff are always getting your order wrong I’ve never come to eat here sat down and everything has come out how I ordered it it’s a shame.
Y. a.
Very impressed, staff were friendly...food was fresh and tasty and the portions were huge
M. D.
Went to this restaurant for the first time after living in the area for a few years now. The place is really good because of the atmosphere - warm and welcoming and I must admit, their pizza is so delicious. You should definitely try it !
T. B.
A massively popular, unpretentious, lively and family-friendly pizzeria and Italian restaurant on Stroud Green Road. It doesn't take itself too seriously: its motto is "it's a great-a place to stuff-a your face!" However, what it does take seriously is the quality of its food and the satisfaction of its customers. Pizzas are prepared and cooked in a dedicated area in a corner of the restaurant, separate from the back kitchen, and you can see the chefs spinning the dough bases and popping the pizzas in and out of the big wood-fired oven. And it continues to pack in the local crowds night after night.
C. R.
Great pizza. Got seats right in front of the wood-fired oven, and could have watched the pizza chefs doing their thing all night. Staff were pleasant to deal with, and the prices are as cheap as you'll find in this area.
F. F.
"Try the veal... it's the best in the city" (Amazing food, value and service.)
R. S.
Ive been going to Pappa G's since I was little and now whenever we have a birthday, anniversary, special occasion or simply celebrating a Friday we go here. Its the best Italian food in North London, has a great buzzy atmosphere and the most amazing Ice cream Cocktails you will ever try.
I highly recommend it to all!!!
J. D.
Lovely atmosphere but failed on the food front.
Pizza was average, pasta was below. Tiramisu tasted bland. Nice Affagoto but not much effort needed for that. Disappointed.
l. a.
Been coming here for some 15/20years, so before the big bar arrived. Great family run place always happy to see you can cater for large gatherings our record is 22 and I'm sure they wouldn't have and an issue with more. So classic starter for us is mussels in tomato and wine or tom n gar brucette. If it's not on the menu just ask they will always try to accommodate. If you've the time have a jug of sangria has all the fruit for your guilty pleasure. Gelato or timarsu. As for the mains there's most Italian dishes covered and all manor of pasta and pizza. The prices are great for your meals average is around £25 per head including a drink or two so a great place, at a great price, run by a great family! Cheers for the memories and may we make a few more
D. S.
As an extreme meat lover (bordering on obsession), it surely says a lot when I would go for the vegetarian option! The parmigiana is absolutely divine, probably the best in London! The aubergine slices are delicately fried and coated with a loving layer of crispiness that's enough to drive my carnivorous instincts away!
J. R.
Been going here for years and they have never let me down. Proper brick wood fire oven that cooks pizza just right. Also the staff really make you feel welcome.
A. H.
Great service and real traditional italian foods . Would bring my friends here if showing them the area . Have been twice now with the second time being in a hurry and they were super quick to respond with no loss in food quality. I like em
B. S.
Great food, great place. It has an excellent atmosphere and represents very good value for the quality of the food. Thank you
F. _.
loved my experience in this restaurant ! An amazing little corner of Italy in London.
From the service to the lovely food. Go there if you are hungry!
T. S.
The pizza is absolutely fantastic! The food and people are authentic. The mozzarella is very flavoursome, the dough is cooked to perfection in wood fired oven. In between a succulent tomato sauce that will make you melt!
p. m.
I love the pizzas here. Service is good. My only issue is it gets very crowded and noisy, but hey I guess that proves it's many other people's favourite as well
A. 3.
A classic, great food and atmosphere that can be joyfully hectic. This has been going for ages and seems considered almost legendary by Italian friends. An absolute must for pizza lovers.
T. D.
Amazing food for incredible price 👌
L. W.
What a brilliant place! The excellent freshly made Italian food and super friendly staff make this my favourite Italian in all of London. Definitely book though, this place gets packed for lunch and dinner every single day.
T. S.
Great Italian style pizza. Wine pairings also really good. However avoid the gluten free option it’s tasteless and feels pre-made.
J. M.
It's a great restaurant for families – we took our nephews when they were down visiting. Also good if you want to embarrass someone on their birthday as the waiters will gladly bring a cake over to the table and encourage the whole restaurant to sing along. The pizzas are tasty and good value for money, but make sure you don't leave without trying one of their ice cream sundaes. Either the After Eight Mint one or the Banoffee Pie one are the best. #Irishtini
D. T.
This place has always been a family favourite so it was the place to go for our first meal out in a restaurant since lockdown. As always the food and service was excellent 👌
C. B.
Lovely atmosphere with great service. The pizzas I found were oddly “creamy” in flavour for my taste, but I'll definitely be returning to try the rest of the menu!
A. C.
Delicious and large pasta dishes, made in authentic Italian style. Pizza is great too, but I would most definitely recommend pasta there!
J. K.
Amazing. The staff are friendly and attentative and the food is well priced and delicious! We wanted to try everything so had the pizza, pasta and a steak. All of them were amazing!
R. A.
This is truly a wonderful pizzeria with amazing staff who go out of there way to welcome you!, its everything you imagine when you watch in the movies when you see a family run pizzeria that recognise you when you come again!!! --
I have never really bothered rating restaurants, but i really owe it to them as its such a wonderful environment and the food is fantastic.
My favourite dishes has to be the deep fried aubergines vegetarian pizza or the calzonheys? ( cant spell it but basically a fold over pizza ) which they can tailor to your specifications which regrettably isn't the case with other other pizzerias. I also love there gnocchi.
A. W.
Gluten free pizza is delicious. Definitely one of the best gluten free pizzas I've had🍕👌👌👌
Amazing, definitely looking forward to some Gelato with amaretto 😍
L. P.
the best dining experience bar none. we turned up in five without a booking and were told it would be a 45 min wait so we decided to have a drink at the bar. i HAVE NEVER seen somewhere so busy but with everybody enjoying themselves. we sat done after 30 mins and had the most wonderful meal, my pizza was the best i have had in london and the starters were superb. My friends pasta with king prawns was also delicious. we finished the evening off with gelato that was as good as anything i have had in italy. the service from the staff was also perfect, i would recommend pappagone to anyone and everyone.
thank you for a wonderful evening.
Lina
K. N.
A friendly, casual family restaurant. Perfect for when you need a pizza or pasta fix. Great for groups, birthdays or just casual Sundays. The large menu has something for everyone
W. W.
Nice trattoria, very good food, huge plats
F. N.
Fantastic staff very warm and welcoming!
Execellent food too.
Ps. I loved the happy birthday wishes to many people i liked joining a d clapping it gives a good vibrant atmospher .Thanks for great evening
J. R.
Great food and great service. James was a delight. Heaters and blankets available during covid!
A. B.
If you like microwave TV meals, this is a place for you to avoid. Fresh food, freshly prepared. Stone baked pizzas, all things pasta, surf, turf; the lot. Romantic and rustic at the same time.
G. S.
My local pizza restaurant. Porchetta next door used to be the place to go (around early 2000s) but then the manager left, it went downhill and Pappagone went from strength to strength. Always enjoyed my meal here plus they show live italian games. Best to book in advance.
B. C.
The only Italian pizzeria in London where you can find PROPER Italian pizza. The real thing. You’d find mostly Italian families eat at this place too. So it must be really good ;-) the staff is also super nice. Grazie Mille!
T. S.
Very busy. But there is a reason for it. Tasty intalian food.
M. B.
Food was great, service was great and I think we ordered enough long Island Iced teas that even though the memory is foggy it still stands out. Place was consistently packed up to 11pm!
K. T. M.
They always have the best pizza. So tasty , Pasta lovers can come here as well. The tiramisu is so good. They have a good service . Maybe little bit expensive but it's worthy .
E.
The food is amazing here! I had their Carbonara which was beautiful.
The service from all their staff was lovely.
G. T.
I'm Italian.. and that's the best pizza i ever had, slightly not enough salty tonight..but salt is on the table!!
Good prices, great staff
Just go and try
T. T. M.
I like a lot the Linguine Al Granchio. The ingredients, used in the preparation of the meal were fresh and of high quality. The crab meat was precisely-cooked and the hints of white wine and chilli were simply a perfect addition.
I am not a big fan of the asparagus, so I left them in my plate.
The cherry tomatoes were tasty and I like them as part of the garnish.
The atmosphere in Pizzeria Pappagone is pleasant, so I recommend visiting this place with friends or on your own.
C.
PappaGs is, handsdown the best Italian I've been to.
Staffed by a very friendly and accommodating Italian staff it is full and buzzing from lunch to closing.
Great for families (plenty of high chairs) and the chance to go watch the chef's at work as the woodburning oven is situated right in the centre of the restaurant..and amazing for a night out, when they have often seated and served tales of 20+ friends without batting an eyelid.
If you're looking for an Italian, this is it.
J. M.
Great service, delicious food, staff are super friendly. Big portions which is a plus! Recommend for sure, birthday dinners, vday, or any other special day... Also on busy days make sure you book a table...
L. M.
Nice place with a good atmosphere. Had gluten free pizza which was decent but not the best I've had in London. A good fallback and the regular pizza looked pretty good.
J.
Always enjoy coming here. The staff are super friendly and the pizzas are some of the best outside of Italy. Great food, great drink selection, great price
J. D.
Unbeatable Italian restaurant for all tastes. Busy, happy place which passes the two big tests: the risotto and homemade tiramisú are excellent. Generous portions and good prices.
S. G.
Good atmosphere, can be noisy, lots of genuine Italian staff. Pizza bases a bit tough for my liking, but otherwise great, and reasonably priced.
F. Q.
Pizza is good (I prefer other pizzerias in London) but atmosphere is great, maybe too chaotic if you are not used to it.
Service is super nice
J. R. R.
Brilliant home made Italian food at a very good price.
The restaurant is quite busy, so it's a good idea to book a table in advance.
No draught beer available though.
E. J.
Excellent food and great friendly service. Excellent value and great portions of high quality authentic Italian. There is a very extensive menu, there will be something for everyone.
F. P.
Wow wow wow 💗 loved it. This is the real deal. Established Italian family run restaurant. Excellenté!! You have to go here. Fantastic. Shared pasta and pizza and it was almost as good as being in Napoli.
J. M.
Tasty pizza, will try pasta dish next time
J. D.
Always great food. Always great service. A real gem of a restaurant
S. W.
This is some of the best Italian food on the world. Everytime I come here I fall into a food coma afterwards. When I awake from this slumber I am sad that I cannot go back and do it all again the next day.
Awesome pizza!
P. F.
awesome......pizza cooked beautifully
i have had lighter crusts with more air in them however thats a personal preference
my table faced the wood burning oven and to see the chef work with the dough and also the fire was a joy
my kids pasta was simple but delicious.
will def be going back
F. S.
We had just a pizza and it was excellent. The multitude of customers that they have confirms that they are doing a great job. 5 stars if it was a bit cheaper.
p. d.
All I can say it's an authentic Italian restaurant, tasty food with a great customer service. Make sure you book a table to avoid disappointment as it gets busy.
T. H.
This pizzaria has 15 years of history and it is one of the most famous in London. They offer the greatest italian food in London. It is a little pricey, but if you have special occasion this is the right place for you.
D. L.
Having their pizza was so great! Pizzeria Pappagone has a very nice place where you can actually enjoy eating their tasteful pizza. I really like to be here all the time. Must recommend this to my friends.
P. J.
Excellent food. Glad to finally find some excellent Italian food.
L. B.
This restaurant is an INSTITUTION! Make sure to book in advance as this restaurant is FULL from Monday to Sunday night. Their pastas are to die for, all AMAZING! I live around the corner and spend my life there it s just too good not to go!
Д. И.
Very delicious

Fast service with friendly staff. Classic hearty Italian dishes all reasonably priced. Lovely atmosphere, suitable for a casual bite or with the family.
D.
Excellent food , superb friendly staff , attractively price, great location with a view
A. C.
Have been going there for 10years now and the pizza is always good. Love the atmosphere and the tables outside on the summer. Good vibes!!
M. Y. Z.
Really happy with the service, sice of the portions, quality of the food, and price. The place was full, but even so the waiting wasn't long, service was fast even if the restaurant was really busy, waiters were friendly, will be back
B. F.
The best place to eat in N4, bar none. Welcoming to all ages. Generous with their portions and their attention. And the food never fails to disappoint. I've had more good nights here than I can remember and hope to have many more.
D. l.
The staff are always so happy and cheerful, the food is always wonderful - some faves are the garlic pizza bread and the tiramisu! A firm family favourite and has been for years.
P. W. E.
The food was pretty much ok, the waitress who served us was rushing us, despite the fact we hadn't overstayed the 2 hrs imposed by the government.
C. P.
One of my favourite restaurant in London. I love it. food is amazing and staff as well. Low prices and cool atmosphere. I really suggest to anyone to go there.
K. A.
Delicious authentic pasta and pizza served quickly, and at a reasonable price. There's a reason this place is packed every night.
M. M.
Some of the best pizza you will ever enjoy.
Always busy, always good, always friendly.
Book before you go to avoid disappointment. Yes, it really is that popular (especially towards and during the weekends).
N. B.
Seriously good Italian. I've walked past so many times and never been in. I'll definitely go back; the food was incredible. Wine was a little overpriced but the service was fantastic.
m. p.
Unbeatable quality for the price!
one of the best Italian spot in north London!
I really love their pizza
