Second time eating at Terra Rossa - loved it the first time and had a great time the second time around (despite being sat amongst big groups of people that were very loud!). The food is incredible (the burrata with pumpkin was incredible - I think it’s a more recent addition to the menu). I will be back again!! Highly recommended!

Deep in the south of Italy there is a region where the land is red. You're surrounded by olive trees, prickly pear trees, drywalls and a stunning seaside. Terra Rossa tries to represent with their Apulian cuisine. I did enjoy the dishes and the attention to detail very much. It's slightly tailored for London, but still surprisingly authentic. Recommended if you can't travel to Apulia but still want to try a taste of it. It's my homeland after all.

1st restaurant experience in 4 months and wow! Despite the cold weather, the light was still bright and the restaurant managed to get a heater operational so it felt good. Food was well presented and tasted amazing! Parmigiana, Panzerotti, Penne a la corsara tasted delicious and cooked to perfection. Staff were super attentive and friendly.

Fantastic experience here, we came for a friend's engagement celebration - they went over and above to make it special bringing out a personalised dessert for him. Also looked after one guest who has a nut allergy and ensured safety for him. The food was excellent and the service was perfect, even helped accommodate an extra person who turned up on top of our original booking number. Would strongly recommend to any who fancies a good Italian.

Went to this restaurant for the first time last Saturday with my daughter. She has gluten intolerance and all the other restaurants either didn't cater for her allergy or warned it could be contaminated. Terra Rossa was happy to accommodate. The food was brilliant. Loads of choice if your vegetarian or vegan. Well cooked and good atmosphere. Will go again.

Authentic delicious Puglian dishes to sink into 😍 The staff are friendly, happy and professional. We went for a late lunch on a Wednesday (today). They've extended the Eat Out to Help Out off their own backs to keep their staff in-work. It was delicious. Every dish we had was bang-on. Every month or so, I get a craving for the Terra Rossa dishes that I just can't find anywhere else in London. We ended up getting 3 starters between 2 of us. The burrata on pumpkin sauce, and the courgette strips were light and refreshing, where as the Parmigiana starter is rich and deep. I wouldn't be able to eat a whole Parmigiana to myself, but sharing a starter version is perfect. A great mix, of dishes we felt and just so delicious. The only time you'll find me eating courgette is in this restaurant! For mains the octopus ragu sends me to heaven in the first bite, every time. If you're going to try just one dish... Go for the Octopus ragu pasta! Minced octopus sauce is full of Octopus flavour, and always a melt in the mouth texture. My dining companion ordered the fresh pasta and heritage tomatoes on pureed broccoli. We enjoyed the fresh green healthy taste. The pasta was slightly sweet, and when eaten with the broccoli puree the flavours were perfectly balanced. Excellent. We left happy, full and satisfied. Looking forward to our next visit. 👍🏽

Wow wow wow! What a meal. Everything was utterly delicious, atmosphere was joyful and the waiters were incredibly charming(and very patient with my indecisive counterparts, but how could you pick quickly with such an amazing menu?!). Such a great meal. Nico, one of our waiters did a great job helping us select a fantastic wine as well. Will certainly be returning soon.

I really liked this little Italian restaurant! We went as a team lunch on Tuesday with work in a group of 10. We were the only people there so not much of an atmosphere but this meant to staff were extremely attentive. The food was DELICIOSO, and the staff were lovely. I would recommend.

Delicious Fresh Italian Pasta! I ate here a few times pre-lockdown and always enjoyed the meals and friendly service. I recently ordered via Deliveroo the ORECCHIETTE & POLPETTE - Apulian fresh orecchiette with homemade meatballs, tomato sauce & ricotta cheese. I was a bit skeptical as I have found the quality of food with some restaurants had suffered when it comes to take away delivery, but I was not disappointed! Terra Rossa is the only Italian restaurant I have come across in Islington that serves this dish so it was such a unique find. The pasta tasted as divine as the first time I had tried it and the restaurant followed my order notes for some extra ricotta cheese. Thank you to the staff that continue to make their meals with love, it is noticeable in the food and makes it that much more enjoyable! Dined in a few times. Great selection on the menu of traditional Puglian dishes. Food is good, however the price is fairly high versus the quality, and service although very friendly is not overly attentive despite seemingly quite a few waiting staff. Great for a casual bite to eat.

I really enjoyed the starters: tris of focaccia, panzerotti salentini e burrata&zucca (OMG I could eat this burrata everyday! So good with pumpkin purée and almonds). My main was great too Ravioli Mario (filled with asparagus and almonds with a cream of saffron and pecorino)- my friend has the wild boar ragù cooked in negroamaro wine that were also super tasty. The third main Orata was disappointing. A bit pricey but would visit again. The feeling is to be in Puglia, the decor, the taste, the wine. Loved the interior

Went there for a birthday- service was impeccable (thank you Nicco from Puglia :) seafood risotto was great, but the truffle pasta and panacotta were to die for. Excellent place for a swankier dinner at a (still) affordable price (although of course what's 'affordable' is subjective). Primitivo wine was also wonderful, and the homemade limoncello was *chef's kiss* - YUM!

Amazing Apulian restaurant in Angel with authentic Apulian food! 😍 Their food it’s amazing guys! It’s simple, it’s fresh, it tasty! It’s exactly how we do it in Puglia! The orecchiette with cime di rapa made me emotional...they made me feel at home! ❤️The ice cream is special! It’s so creamy and tasty....not the usual ice cream! The millefoglie was very very good and I love the thing that everything (including the desserts) are made in house.

This is a very nice Italian restaurant, the food is freshly made and tastes fantastic! Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff that were great to chat with and helpful, they make you feel welcome the second you enter. There is a lot of choice on their menu with some seasonal specials. I had the truffle pizza, which was very nice. They also have vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options (they have a gluten free menu). We went in the evening and and were glad we had made reservations, it was quite busy so I'd advise you call ahead to make a reservation.

Very difficult to maintain high service standards in covid times so I appreciate how attentive and kind the waiting staff were. The food was simple but delicious and good quality. The restaurant is conveniently located near Almeida theatre so we like to go here as a pre-theatre dinner option.

My husband and I went in here on a Tuesday night and there weren’t too many people inside but it quickly filled up. I’m Italian-American with parents from Puglia, and wow! This restaurant is authentically Apulian, and delicious! I was very impressed. My Sicilian husband was also very impressed and he is very picky with Italian food! Everything we had was fresh and delicious! We had the pollo tetta, parmigiana, Focaccia, and fave e cicorie,ending the evening with homemade limoncello and affogatto. All beyond delicious. It has a really nice atmosphere. I’ve lived in London 7 years but finding authentic Italian food- can be a real challenge. You can tell the ingredients are fresh. Also to note: extremely attentive and friendly staff. We will be back!

Had the carpaccio and prawn penne He had the avocado salad and the meatballs. Cannot fault the food or the drinks. Can fault the service. I consider everything when I review. Slow to take the orders, slower to clear dishes and bring the next course (we waited over 30 mins for the mains when the restaurant wasn't that busy yet) but the bill? Oh that came 30 seconds after the request as it does in most restaurants. Interesting. I was with them on the food, it is delicious but the wait time and harried looking server who looked like he didn't want to be there, spoiled it for me.

My new favourite Italian restaurant! I've been here a few times this year now. The menu is truly authentic Southern Italian cuisine and you can taste all the flavours. so good. I'm usually a pizza guy but the choices here are really inspiring I've been tempted by both their risotto and orecchiette. I brought a group of people from work for a celebratory lunch and they were most accommodating. The photos I've attached are the Orecchiette e pomodori del sole and pizza Contadina. Perfection.

We were looking for some place around Islington for chit chat and this place looked lovely already from outside. Nice cosy interior, really spacious and the staff was very nice and friendly. Seems like all Italians! So it had proper Italian feeling :) We ordered pizza and gnocchi with clams and basil pesto. Pizza was really great, but I took one star from review down as the gnocchi looked great, but the taste was bit plain. But all in all very good experience.

Very nice food. We ordered the burrata to start and it did not disappoint. Partner ordered Bolognese pasta which he loved. I struggled to find something since the only has 2-3 vegetarian options. I ended up getting the eggplant Parmesan, and was overwhelmed by too much cheese and couldn’t finish my meal. Left feeling a unhealthy kind of full. Would give a 5 star if they had more vegetarian options, but from my parents perspective a 5 for meat eaters. The service and wine were also pretty good.

Amazing Italian taste, with a local feel from Puglia. Both pizzas and pasta have an outstanding quality, with a lot of diverse flavours. I would recommend trying the brew offerings, since they are produced in the Puglia region of Italy and are some of the best. Would most definitely recommend to anyone.

I was very impressed with a high quality of food. My partner and I both ordered pizzas, Capriciousa and 4 Stagioni - 4 cheeses pizza. Both were to a very high standard, best Italian pizza I had in my intere life. The dough was prepared to perfection with soft middle and nice crunch at the edges. Beautifully presented food, cattlery surved were individually packed in a protective paper bag for hygiene reasons. The music playing was perfect, melodical and quiet. I was left very impressed. I highly recommend Terra Rossa!

Cute place, relatively average food. For the same price you can definitely find a more authentic Italian, however, if you're after portion size, I don't think Lina Stores could compete with this. I'd personally would always go for taste over portion size and in that respect this place wasn't the best.

Disappointing food. My asparagus and mushroom ravioli was barely seasoned and my partner was served undercooked bacon-wrapped pork. The service was good, but the best service can't make up for mediocre and poorly-cooked food. Next day edit: Not feeling great after this meal. I definitely wouldn't recommend the stuffed pork main dish.

I loved the food, it my home food. Flavours are genuinely good, exactly as expected. The place is nice, no pressure, relaxed. The service is slow, but if this is the price to pay for delicious food then it's kinda of ok. The wine list is what makes me give 4 and not 5: it's boring and expensive. I'll go back though, the food is what it's there for.

My favourite of favourite Italian restaurants. I've never tried food like this before. I'm dreaming about the octopus ragu. It's worth getting a selection of starters to really get the full impact. Next time I go, I plan on sampling the wines. They've got a massive selection and so far I've only been at lunch time and not wanting to try at lunch. Planning a dinner there now. Very good food with professional friendly service. I had their pizza Terra Rossa pizza. Very fresh ingredients and good quality cured ham and sausage. Not sparse on the topping. Base was well textures without being chewy and crust crispy without being crunchy or dry. Next time will try the pasta.

Piccolo restaurant in Southend is the best Italian place I've been to outside Italy, so I compare the rest to it. The food here at terra rosa was ok, but we waited nearly an hour to get our mains. There's no excuse for this. If Piccolo can manage impeccable service during peak covid times then so can you guys. There was a lot of walking around from the waiters and waitresses but not much "doing" and not much eye contact with tables to check on people. We asked twice for the bill, which we had to wave to get someone's attention.. twice, then waited another 10 minutes before someone actually came to take the payment. Plus, the person/ manager/ owner? standing at the bar on the phone and laptop doing work? Come on, not during dinner service..

Terra Rossa is excellent because ... 1) pre pandemic it stood out as a well priced, good quality eatery (no mean feat on Upper St!) 2) pandemic relaxation / tiered rules it again served good quality, reasonably priced food all the while thoughtfully “spacing” tables yet creating atmosphere! (Perspex and socially distant spaced tables are not conducive to restaurant ambiance!!) 3) second lockdown ... we had a Terra Rossa delivery last night ... the food was excellent! I never leave reviews (I just don’t get round to it!). When I was auto reminded to review Terra Rossa I actually sat down to do so (and not just because Lockdown II affords lots of time for such things!!) ... I want to support Terra Rossa ... of course I want lots of other people to enjoy the restaurant ... more importantly I want it to survive the pandemic so I can eat its excellent food for many years to come!

I went again yesterday and I can only re-confirm what I wrote 3 years ago. In addition, a big than you to accomodate all the requests re. intollerances and for the attention in serving my toddler first and giving him colours to be entertained. Semplice e buonissimo! Authentic menu from Puglia. Delicious handmade orecchiette e gnocchetti; not to talk about the fave and cicoria starter. Finally an Italian restaurant that has a local menu and doesn't cover everything from Parmigiana (south Italy) to Cotoletta alla Milanese (north Italy), as the fake touristy ones. Very polite, not insistent service. Nice decor and very pretty terracotta dishes from Grottaglie (tiny village in Salento). I live locally and I'm very happy to have found this homey spot.

Io e il mio ragazzo abbiamo pranzato in questo posto per il mio compleanno, è stato tutto fantastico, il cibo buonissimo, l'atmosfera era molto rilassante e il personale è davvero gentile, ci hanno offerto anche dei tarallini e dolcini. Vorremmo ringraziare anche Marco perché è stato molto attento ed ha soddisfatto le nostre richieste. Ritorneremo assolutamente!
