Great spot for food. Made fresh and in front of you. Nice atmosphere. They had a nice menu and everything was done online via your smart phone. Scan in the QR code and order. Everything was made perfect. The garlic bread was nice and doughy. Wasn’t over powering with the garlic. The penne was great. It was big enough to share. The kids pizza was ace, as my DD gave it two thumbs. The only downside, some of the staff seemed moody and unhappy. I will come back again .. and hope the staff are happier! Much love ….

Post-covid was nice to watch your food be cooked in front of you , but is nicer to have it brought to your table very simply , saves your legs standing in long lines when busy. Food is always great have had different pastas and pizzas each time can never fault them. Great value for money , portion size is good always options to add extras such as more chicken to pasta . Real good quality food , love passing by when local. Would be nice to see some desserts on menu.

Food was really good. You can definitely tell it's homemade, fresh pasta. Only reason for not 5 stars is that they don't take bookings. I know covid had been a problem, but we had to wait outside for quite some time, when we could've avoided that if they allowed bookings like most restaurants do.

The customer service was awful; some of the employees were standing around chatting, while just the few employees were working. We were unable to get water. I asked and tried to get the attention of two staff members, but they purposefully ignored us. Although there were plenty of tables available, we were forced to wait outside even though it was raining. We were told to share the table with another family by the security guard, which resulted in an incorrect order being issued. The employees were grumpy and unhappy. Pasta was made from scratch with fresh ingredients, and bread was provided alongside. Pasta had just the correct amount of spice, and my request was fulfilled. Garlic bread was delicious, and the right amount of garlic was used.

I loved the atmosphere and the vibe in the restaurant, the staff were friendly and helpful, and prices were reasonable. The pizza was good but not incredibly good. The chicken alfredo pasta wasnt so good tbh because it was a bit salty and too eggy. Overall experience was great and they offered a cool packaging for the takeaway leftover food. I recommend this restaurant 👌

I had the most amazing experience in Vapiano last week. Fabio were such an experienced pizza chef. I was asking him for recommendations and he showed his professional knowledge. Also, his pizza (shown below) was gorgeous. Very nice dining experience 😊

The dish I got was ‘Gamberetti E Spinaci’ which tasted delightful. I also helped myself with an extra topping including cheese on top which melted perfectly with the lingunie. Throughly enjoyed the meal. Not only does the food taste so fresh, the flavour is simple yet enjoyable. I will come back soon to try other dishes.

One of the few restaurants in London that I can say that portions were enough. In addition the prices were very decent too! Unfortunately their online system makes it a dreadful experience to order… It takes too long to go through the multiple pages per meal, and worst of all at the end you can’t pay using apple pay or google pay or even paypal… you have to add a new card to their system… sitting there adding the long number card etc.. In addition, due to the online ordering, its very hard to find a waiter and ask for some tap water, as our message on the notes for the order “4 tap waters please” was ignored. Will visit again when all the restrictions are over and hopefully the overall experience is better.

shame that the system changed but still a great place for fresh italian food. i guess because of covid they don’t cook it in front of you now. you order straight from your phone through a QR code. innovative but i personally miss hearing and seeing the chefs and wok in action. the menu is big with loads of options. you can add and remove items at your whim. and as always it is value for money and it never disappoints. tasty, fresh, piping hot and plenty of flavour. no queues to deal with, plenty of assistance on hand, a speedy service and pretty generous portions :) I really do regret that one time we went pasta brown instead of coming here as we had planned to :( I’ll never forget it unfortunately

Food was good! Service was not. We arrived and waited at least 5 minutes before being greeted or told to wait for a table. The security guard just kept telling us to wait and was very blunt. It was a Friday night and quite busy however there seemed to be a lot of staff so not sure why everyone was looking so stressed. The food itself is delicious but service could have been better

Food was fine but unfortunately the Waiting staff were very rude, none of them smiled and most looked pretty miserable in their job. We sat upstairs and watched around 6 members of staff congregate around the bar area, chatting loudly, so all could hear, about their personal life. When the food arrived at the table the waitress DIDN'T SPEAK😳 she just put the dishes on the table and we had to pass to the correct person. Can honestly say, we've never experienced anything like this in a restaurant before. Nice food Vapiano but sadly your waiting staff are letting you down!

Great Italian taste ! Cooking in front of you is satisfying Update February 2022! I been few times with diferent entourage... It did not disappoint...there was something for either elder/ Vegan/Vegetarian Though I'd like to ask to considering a wider selection of desserts!!! NOW YOU ORDERING THROUGH ONLINE LINK/APP AND PAYMENT IS directly taken at start before you see or eat your food! Not animore with the card account touching at the Bar or open kitchen .They will bring it to the table number you seating ... at least there is no more the headaches of spliting your bill at end :) And you do not require a Booking at this restaurant, you gonna queue until a table is allocated to you.

Enjoyed the wonderful and delicious Arabbiata Fusilli Pasta🍝 and I enjoyed the delicious dish. 😋 It was delicious and a filling one. I'm completely satisfied. Couldn't resist to give 5/5 rating. A solid mid price restaurant! It isn't pasta that will blow your mind but it is certainly a good option if you are hungry and in the area. They give you a large amount of pasta with a variety of options. The atmosphere was very fun and youthful as well which makes it a great hangout spot

Enjoyed the food, although in the past it was always good to be able to stand and watch your food being prepared. This is more difficult to explain via the app when ordering. It’s covid secure store with an app ordering system. The way to order itself was very slow and internet is not good in store. However, the servers are kind and friendly. I had the gamberetti (prawns) with linguine. Was awesome.

Understaffed, dirty tables and low on food quality compared to the one that was permanently shut down in Central London. Existing staff is very nice, but they're overworked. Carnonara super oily, cognac pasta is lower on quality than before. Prices too high for what you get. Can cook better at home.

The pizza is one of the best freshly made ones you can get in London for a good price, it fills you up well after a long day. The cream based pasta could be a little bland but with the added table sauce it was flavorsome. The desserts were creamy and was a brilliant end to the night. Overall the atmosphere was good and the staff were warm and friendly. Would recommend a visit.

I have been several times to Vapiano in Great Portland Street and always received a fantastic service. Food is great and at an affordable price. I just would like to highlight that last time I was there, I was served by the GM, Gerardo Biancardi, who was exquisite. He was attentive to my partner and I, and we very much appreciated the way he looked after us. Having somebody caring and well-mannered changes your whole experience at a restaurant. Vapiano have a great reputation...but on this occasion my carbonara was only okay. The atmosphere of other diners and restaurant layout was nice......but though the company of family-friends I was with made it a GREAT night! The staff member who came to tell us they were closing was rude and unkind. I really forgot that we were paying customers, as he intimidated us and pressured us to leave our unfinished meals and drinks which were almost still full! Other staff members were nice, but what's the point when one member of staff is going around the tables, bullying customers to leave! I have never had an experience like that in any restaurant before!😑

What a gem ! I happenstanced across this restaurant randomly on Deliveroo and I am so happy I did. Nice place to get a homemade , comforting , tasty pasta dish. The restaurant is very spacious, gives out a very comfortable, cozy and friendly atmosphere. The food was freshly cooked by the sides and promptly served. Soooo soooooo goooooood! Experience here has always been amazing. But due to covid we had to takeaway. I love how they provide EVERYTHING, from bread, to cheese, and garlic separately. They give you cutlery all in packets so no contamination. Loved that. Now, food itself. PRAWNS ARE AMAZING! So flavourful, and the pasta was gorgeous. Freshly made and so tasty. Will always be the spot to get food when in central. Only chicken is halal here.

Good restaurant, good food. The way that you order is quite complicated and long. If you have two people and you want different types of foods eg. Pizza and pasta. You have to go to two separate lines to order each. Also, in my case, the pasta line was very long and I had to give up my place when my pizza was ready as I had to pick it u po from the counter and take it upstairs myself as my friend was at the table with our belongings.

It's okay to be honest. Fast paced food with a choice of dinning in. You stand in line with charge cards to order food. Lines can be long, infact very long. The ambiance of the place is great. Currently they accept walk-ins and then give to register on Covid site and fill details in a register as per governments recommendations. Everything is online after that. You'll be allocated a table and you can scan the QR code there and order it. They will serve you at the table. It was quite a nice experience and the food was amazing!

Great value for what you get, though note the prices are low because you serve yourself. This location is a bit more spacious than the nearby Soho outlet, though it gets just as crowded during peak times. There’s a large upstairs seating area in addition to the ground floor where you order. The staff is also good at telling you how long the queues will take when you walk in.

Loud, tasty food, majority of staff are focused. What I would call a maitre d’ in their waistcoat and shirt did nothing yet swan around the restaurant floor with his hands in his pocket. On entry we were placed in a small corner of the restaurant where the table was not clean and it was extremely loud. We decided to move to the front of the restaurant (Make sure you’re seated there too) you can actually hear each other speaking then. Staff seem to enjoy themselves on their shift, I wouldn’t say they are attentive or have the understanding of simple customer service. Pizza is thin based, tasty yet simple appropriate for the price. Pasta, Al dente and the king prawns were cooked precisely and not dry. Overall a good place to go for a lunch, wouldn’t recommend for an evening meal especially tho use of you planning a date !

I very rarely give 5 stars to any eating establishment, but the level of service and care shown by Gérard (Gerry) and Nerea was off the charts. Both my kids and my wife felt so welcome and had a great time. The kids got crayons and paper to colour, our food arrived in a very timely fashion and exactly as we ordered it We ordered a variety of tomato sauce pastas and a margarita, all of which were to the high standard this restaurant chain and specifically this branch adhere to. Read that the pasta is freshly handmade and cooked right in front of you, hence decided to put it on my must try London food list. Naturally the queue was Long and the wait longer. You tell the Chef what you want and he/ she cooks it right away. To my dismay the pasta was taken out from a packet. Not sure how freshly made that was. The food portion was large and the taste satisfying. The price was quite reasonable by London's standard. I ordered the Estiva pasta which was about £11+ before taxes and service charge. All in all it was a pretty good experience and I recommend anyone who comes to London to give it a try.

My frinds told me about this place and to be frank I was not aware that this is a multi national chain. So I went into Oxford street branch with friends. They dont accept reservations so be ready to wait in a queue but its worthwhile. Interior decoration is cosy with different types of seating areas. Menu got lots of options, specially pasta section. I chose creama di fungi and bruscheta. Service was good, order delivered quite fast and you can see chefs in open kitchen. My pasta was cooked by Jagrati, I went over to the kitchen counter to say thanks and appreciate the taste. I would recommend this place to all and you can relax here after your shopping spree.

I love this restaurant normally but experienced a few problems with our order during covid while ordering via our phone. I loved that you can still customise your food as normal and food arrived very quickly and was to its usual standard. However 2 of us never received our drinks order for about half an hour at least. When we asked the woman at the bar she said she had not received it. We also had to wait about 45 mins or more for our garlic bread by which time we would have finished our food if we hadn't stopped eating. Again not sure if they received this order but everything was on our receipts. Not all staff were attentive but at least we got apologies for our late arrivals of food and drink. I would visit again but I hope the technology has improved to avoid those mistakes.

Obviously, things have changed with the pandemic, with the way of ordering. The truth is that it is appreciated to do it from the phone and avoid those long queues to cook your food. To Pay in advance, everything clean, with social distance, ... everything correct. But I don't know if it was bad luck or that the cooks who used to be there are gone but the pasta was not as tasty as it used to be. Likewise, the bread that they used to cut you at the time, is really bad, they don't put oil etc ... I understand about the pandemic, but there are things that cannot be lost.

Excellent as usual but be warned the queues can be very long, i waited for 1 hour, i ordered gamberetti (prawns) with linguine. It was worth the wait, from watching it being made to appearing in my bowl! There are 5 "pasta stations" and a seperate one for pizza and salad. It also has a second floor with more sit down chairs as opposed to stools.

Went Vapianos today, as you know Vapiano at Great Portland St is very busy but with a great vibe and atmosphere, we ordered our food and beverages, however, they had got our order wrong. We spoke to one of the manager Luca as the staff on the floor weren’t available to help. Luca was very lovely and made sure our experience at Vapianos was lovely and he got us a fresh new correct order, and because it took some time we weren’t able to eat our desserts so he swapped the desserts for drinks which was nice of him! The food was amazing as always and very filling!

Luca was AMAZING, best manager I’ve dealt with at Vapiano (and that means a lot since I’ve eat, breathed and lived this food for years 🤣). Our order was mixed up and wrong. Normally it’s a task and quite time consuming to figure this out and rectify the problem but Luca was so kind, worked so quickly to resolve the issue, kept checking on us and made a situation that could have been really frustrating, actually very pleasant! What a brilliant hire from Vapiano, this guy is a gem, protect him at all cost because he handled everything so well, 10/10! 🤩

Popular Italian restaurant ( German company) with multiple branches around the world. They offer pizza, pasta or salads. You can see how the cooks prepare you dish in front of you, the problem is that you may have to wait in line for quite a long for pasta dishes as each cooks prepares two at the same time. This branch is very popular with a younger crowd so apart from waiting the atmosphere can be quite loud what make it a bit tiring if you are looking for a quiet meal.

It was my first time visiting Vapiano, and I went after the receiving recommendations by different friends. I had the fresh salmon fettuccini Carbonara and at first it taste very good. But after several bites, it tasted very greasy and the reason I feel is that the pasta is stirfried instead of boiled. Which made it very greasy. You cannot tell on the pictures but there was lots of oil at the bottom of the dish. Furthermore, it can be a little confusing if you come in for your first time. They have a system in place where you get an electronic device and you then get in line at the "wok" stations and order the pasta you want or at other stations where they offer different dishes and hand over the device, which they will give back. You wait Infront of the work station and they cook infront of you. Which is fun and you can take videos/photos. You then take your food on a tray and can sit anywhere. After you finish, you go to the cashier and give the device and it tells them what you ate and that is how you pay. The decor of the place is good and feels a little upmarket.

Vapiano is my go to when im Oxford st. A few of the chefs are just excellent but there are some that just cant handle making food in front of customers. It can also get very busy during lunch hours which means very long lines. I had a lot of good experiences but sometimes when you get that nervous guy he can slightly mess up (I.e. too much oil).

Vapiano in a nutshell is a fast food restaurant in the same way a Mercedes is just a car. The restaurant prides itself on serving food cooked in front of you in a smorgasbord of choice... Carbonara with linguine or spaghetti why not. The restaurant is well lit to create a fun and fresh environment, portions are large enough to fill you up and the side salad is defiantly a good choice. The only down side would be that due to the rush of service stations do become messy and plates are not washed to the highest of standards (as I had to pull the chef up on). But in all of fast service and yummy food is what your after in an informal setting in the centre of town then this is where you would go every time.

For pizzas you place your order at the counter and then take a seat until your buzzer tells you they are cooked. Try looking for space upstairs, if it's busy. Good value for money and great tasting pizza. Downside was that the pasta stations meant that the clientele primarily treated it more like a McDonald's than a restaurant. The pasta stations had long queues of groups of friends and family, which meant that we opted for pizza, as there was no queue, making it faster to order. Asked waitress if our table could be cleaned. She nodded and told me someone would be over. Fifteen minutes later, we had to chase another member of staff who seemed to have been left to clear the tables on the first floor on his own.

Quick but very efficient and customisable preparation of most dishes. Upon entry one gets a chargeable touch card, and then places the order directly to one of the cooks. The cook will prepare the meal in front of the standing client, asking specific questions about desirable or otherwise ingredients. The process is very quick indeed, and the outcome can be surprising. For example after being asked, I got the spiciest carbonara I have ever been served. Definitely a good choice for a lunch break in the area.

Whole experience was fab and laid back. Get given a card to which you take to the counters and order what you want in front of you making it a fussy eaters or customization luvvers place to be. All pasta and pizza dough is handmade daily in addition to all other ingredients being fresh. Ordered gambaretti spinaci with king prawns for something abit different. Was delicious. Also they stretch dough to achieve the best cheesy garlic pizza bread in front of you! Yum. Take your card to the counter at the end to pay. Queues to counters can be abit long but worth it and also still get your foo quicker than ordering it in a more classic set up

I ordered lunch there today and the customer service was almost incredible. The restaurant was about to open when I arrived and the person who greeted me was very helpful and reassuring, telling me to wait five minutes to order and that my food would get ready quickly after that. It all went well and my food got ready super quickly indeed. I was impressed and happy, especially after my previous experience at Vapiano Tower Bridge, when they loaded my sister's order with chilli and onions despite instructions to not add those. However, when he delivered my order to me, he realised they did not have any bread, which would have been fine. The problem is the way he gave me the news "I am sorry but we do not have any bread at the moment, but it is free anyway, so..." All the brilliant customer service got killed there, because "it's free anyway, so..." is not very nice to hear. It is not free, because if I show up there tomorrow just for bread they won't give it to me for free. It is certainly included in the price. It is not a big deal, I just wish he had said "we do not have any bread, is that okay? Is there anything I could do to make up for that?" or even better, added something else on his own initiative and told me "we do not have any bread, but I am adding some xxx instead. It goes really well with the pasta you ordered. I hope that's okay!" anyway, the pasta was delicious and I totally recommend adding cream. It made it taste AMAZING! About the customer service, it was great until the bread incident. I believe the guy didn't mean it the way it sounded as he showed a great deal of care throughout my time there. That just upset me a bit because he was doing so, so well! I still give it 4 stars because overall it was great!

So, called in the afternoon to see if there was anyway this restaurant could accommodate me and my co workers (7 of us) to have my birthday dinner with me. The lady I spoke to on the phone checked with the manager that said he could not sit us all together due to the regulations however he could sit us apart between 2 tables which I thought was very kind. I was told I did not need a reservation as the night would be quiet. Perfect I thought. Only to arrive with my co workers and we had to queue up despite one of my co workers getting there early and getting put on a table. The tables here can accommodate 8 ppl and a visor is put in the idle so that it looks like its groups of 4 sitting. Not only they did not let me join my co worker I was made to queue up despite talking to the manager that we had spoken before. He then wanted to separate us as this was by their rules that all my guests could not sit in one table despite the visor separating and he wanted some to sit upstairs and some to sit downstairs which I just thought was ridiculous and did not accept. Fortunately, there was a waitress that was reasoning with the manager and allowed us to sit us across for eachother in 2 different tables as per promised over the phone. I had never felt so embarrassed at one point the manager said he could just refuse to sit us and send us all away- then why would u agree to accommodate us when I called!? Anyway, Vapianos, the drinks are nice, pasta wise which is what most of the guests were were nice even tho there only 2 I like from there the carbonara and the chicken alfredo. The ice tea is divine. Service took ages and we ended up eating all at different times. It was quite the experience but thanks to the waiters that helped me put with the birthday surprise my friends had for me, it was important to celebrate my birthday as i really didn't think i could due to the pandemic and working for the NHS hasn't been easy on any of us- In terms of management needs serious attitude check

Vapianos has really gone downhill since opening post lockdown and under new owners. Have been twice and although I prefer sitting and waiting for the food as opposed to standing both visits my food has been wrong and the drinks have not arrived. On my first visit the manager apologised and gave me a free drink on the second visit the waiter acted like he was doing me a favour and tried to imply I had ordered the food wrong. When paying over £10 for some pasta I expect to get what I ordered! Use to love Vapianos but after the second visit being worse than the first I don't know if I'll be returning. Order # 24450124 - did not look at chef notes - did the garlic/chilli options the wrong way round and would only remake one of the dishes which they still did not make correctly as had not looked at the order notes from our reciept - drinks and bread did not arrive which had to ask twice for. Second time asked a different waiter who was more helpful - our original waiter couldn't care less when we were telling him our dishes had been done the wrong way round and acted as if it was a hassle helping us which really added to us being annoyed. The way he brought the dish back he took to be remade was him almost slaming it on the table and then when we asked for cheese which they forgot to add on he sighed The restaurant was not busy at the time we were there and it was not nice feeling like we were in the wrong when we just wanted what we'd ordered and paid for. I'm a good customer and even brought another drink to enjoy with my lunch (Order #24451601)

Amazing food and the concept of getting your food cooked fresh in front of you is great. I also love the card system which makes it easy for groups as you can easily pay for yourself. Only reason for 3 star review is simply because of the 20 plus minute queue to order food as my friends had already started eating their food. By the time I had my food my friends had finished theirs which left me eating on my own. Not the restaurant's fault however it was a poor experience. I'd go back and will reassess my rating.

The food is great no doubt but the system to get the food is madness. It gets really not in there from all the food being cooked. At one point it got really smokey because of the way one of the cooks were prepping the wok. It's always busy and it's always hard to find a table. It's a communal seating arrangement, so you could be sitting next to anyone, if you find a spot.

Really liked the concept of getting your own individual card to place your orders, it took the hassle out of splitting the bill with a group. When I went i Would have much rathered one of the pasta dishes but the queues for the pasta section were not moving very fast, but there was no queue for the pizza. The pizza did not take too long to come and it tasted amazing. Ate upstairs which wasn't too busy. All the fresh herbs in the flower pots were a nice touch to the tables. Would recommend trying to eat here.

Totally loved this place. You get a card as you sit. Make your order at the counter. It takes little time for them to prepare the food. The presentation is also nice. It's warm and cosy. There's a variety of drinks and desserts. It has glass walls so that you can enjoy the view as you have your food.
