The food here is absolutely wonderful. The flavors are rich and abundant. Each dish is very different and most satisfying if you are into cuisine that comes from these very special places in the world (if you like Indian cuisine, this should do you right) . One of the awesome dishes, was the lamb Gurkhali, which is a Nepalese curry that is very rich and deep flavored. A great side dish to the curry is the Sag Aloo which is a spinach potato curry (different flavor profile from the Gurkhali curry) . Both of these must be enjoyed with plain Basmati rice so that you can taste the flavor profiles of the aforementioned dishes. A flavored rice may be good to add but one should try it first with plain Basmati (in this reviewer's opinion) . In any case, great Nepalese restaurant with pleasant and comfortable atmosphere. Note: the accompanying photo does the actual food no justice. This reviewer was seriously too caught up in the consuming! Sorry about that. Cheers!

It may not look much from outside, but inside is bright, airy and spacious. The staff are very welcoming and were very helpful. The choice of food is good, although the vegetarian choice on the menu was limited. However, the menu did say ask if there are any special dietary requirements. I had vegetable samosas to start (some of the tastiest I've ever had and a little on the hot side). Then I had Gurkha Soecial Vegetables with Pilau rice and Bombay Aloo. The taste was amazing and very fresh. Again the Gurkha Vegetables were a little on the hot spicy side, but I just had to eat them all as they were so very good. There was a good choice of desserts, but I just did not have room! I would definitely recommend The Gurkha Kitchen.

the only restaurant we feel is clean, safe and or accommodating enough throughout, Maidstone Kent. Highly recommended. If you have special dietary needs like IBD, gluten or other intolerances, call in advance to see how they can possibly accommodate. They did for us and it really blew us away because we really struggle to find take away that doesn't make my partner ill.

Visited here on a Friday night with 3 friends. Place was packed, but we'd reserved a table and got seated in 5 minutes. Service was friendly and the staff talked to us. I had the vegetable momo starter followed by Sherpa Lamb curry. The curry was delicious, lamb was tender and the sauce well flavoured, not your typical curry. A very good evening out.

Must be the best takeaway in Maidstone. Never eaten in, but the takeaway never disappoints. Gurkhali lamb is my favourite, the lamb melts in the mouth every time with such a nice flavour. Our go to every time.

Wow. This is now my favorite restaurant! Don't be put of by the fact it looks like a temporary building in the train station car park (as I have always been.) It is great inside, The staff are nice, but most importantly the food is absolutely fantastic! I understand they do takeaway too which I will certainly be ordering. 10/10 for me 👍🏻

Used to frequent this restaurant when it first opened years ago. It has subsequently changed hands a few times. Attended as part of s large group on a Friday, so I expected a bit of a wait between courses. This was the case, but the food was hot, tasty and the order correct. The place was packed, which is always a good sign. Staff were pleasant if a little rushed off their feet. Will try again on a quieter night!

Such a discovery! While we had some doubts in the dark parking lot, seeing the restaurant from the outside, they all disappeared once we entered this cute and wonderful gem. Food is absolutely outstanding and so rich of flavours. My favourite and must have dish was the Dhal. You must go there if you are in town!

Unfortunately, for a rather large restaurant, there were only 2 members of staff, one of which had only started 2 weeks ago so was still learning the ropes. Brilliant service! Excellent food. The staff tried their best to ensure that we got our meal quickly because we wanted to catch a movie at the nearby Odeon. This is definitely my favourite restaurant in Maidstone. Very friendly service, you don't feel rushed and always made to feel welcome. The food is fantastic, doesn't leave you feeling, heavy or bloated. The food is very flavoursome and they cater for all pallets of taste. Superior quality food. I had a salmon starter and a king prawn dish of the chef specials section. Both were lovely. My son had a mixed meat special dish (I forget the name) and it was very different to mine with a wine based sauce which was slightly sweet in a way. My friend had a chicken Naga city and this was very green chili based and so entirely different again. Some Indian restaurants can have such a similar curry sauce that everything tends to be a bit similar but not so the ghurka kitchen. My only concern was it got busy and on exit I had to squeeze past people queuing to come in. I think with a one entrance/exit it is necessary to keep it clear or maybe they need a separate exit for a one way system. Very nice evening though.

Food was excellent. However, the service was awful. Extremely slow. Kept forgetting drinks. We asked for the bill 3 times (and waited 30 minutes). Only the waitress was working her butt off whilst the men stood by and chatted. Really wanted to rate this higher but cause of the wait I couldn't. 5 Blokes visited, starter within 40 mins or so, mains at least over 1h 40 mins after arriving so just over 2 and a half hour in total to have 2 courses. A shame as the food is good. My lamb starter was a bit tough but really tasty and my chicken curry (both Nepalese) were really tasty. Also £1 a popadom was a bit of a p@#s take given when asked if we want some it was a throw away offer. So just beware as they gave us 10. The next time I'll be out will be with the family (2 younger kids) and given the time it took unfortunately I will be going the other side of town for my local Nepalese. It wasnt full either.

By far the most amazing naan we have ever had. So light fluffy and crispy at the same time :) The veggie options were amazing especially the shahi paneer and saag paneer. Reasonable choice on the menu (but this seemed to differ from the online takeaway menu ? where there appears to be a greater choice of Indian dishes). Good quality and quantity of food. Staff and service very good and accommodating. Nice atmosphere. It was busy, so advise advanced booking. They operate a takeaway service, and whilst we were close to the door, there weren't that many interruptions with people collecting.

(Translated) Very good Indian restaurant near the center of Maidstone. The frame and the front don't look like much; but the service and food are very good. We opted for a Gurkha Grill, a Tikka Masala (a little too sweet for our taste); a Gurkha Special Vegetable and of course some naans. Everything was very good, plentiful and well served. Rather classic restaurant; but to advise. (Original) Très bon restaurant Indian près du centre de Maidstone. Le cadre et le devant ne payent pas de mine ; mais le service et les plats sont très bon. Nous avions opté pour un Gurkha Gril, un Tikka Masala (un peu trop sucré à notre goût); un Gurkha Special Vegetable et bien évidemment quelques naans. Le tout était très bon, copieux et bien servi. Restaurant plutôt classique ; mais à conseiller.

Sind zufällig auf den Imbiss gestoßen und haben seitdem immer wenn wir in England waren dort halt gemacht und etwas gegessen. Sehr freundliche Bedienung, schönes Ambiente und köstliches Essen, haben seitdem nie mehr so gut nepalesisch gegessen!
