Such a lovely place. Really relaxed, friendly service and excellent pasta in a tiny, cosy space. The starters, especially anything on sourdough were a highlight, as were the lobster ravioli. There’s a short, pretty basic drinks list to choose from. It’s great to have places this good to visit out of town, and that are well supported (it’s very busy)

The changing face of Denton Tameside brings an amazing entrepreneur bringing a truly Italian deli to Tameside! Inviting shop front , Italian products , fresh produce, Italian cakes to die for , coffee smooth with a strong kick us Italians love that . The best compliment I can give the owner will out grow this place & will need a bigger deli ! News is getting around how fantastic this little gem is ! Why 4 stars I have to be honest a disabled wheel chair & some prams struggle ! The owner is amazing with children answering questions about her products our Italian culture love children!

Quite simply one of the best Italian in the North of England, was lucky to discover Ornella's kitchen just 2 days before leaving the UK, amazing food from starter to dessert, pasta definitely are the highlight here, cooked to perfection with superb flavours. Coffee were surprisingly good and went so well with the brioche with ice cream and cannoli. Definitely would return!

What a fantastic little Italian bistro! A group of us went for dinner and every dish was amazing. Meatballs gorgeous, mushroom ravioli beautiful and the rest all delicious. The staff were brilliant, very welcoming and friendly. Best Italian in Manchester by far. Very reasonable prices and good portions. Would highly recommend to Italian food lovers.

Believe the hype! My family had been raving about Ornella's and it is justified! The food is excellent - a great, authentic italian menu, executed perfectly. Wonderful flavours and generous portions (pictured are two small portions of pasta). The service was excellent too. Can't wait to come back.

Absolutely stunning takeaway last night. I was worried how well the food would travel but it was almost as good as eating in… the dishes were delicious. Nduja Arancini, Poached Pear, Gorgonzola and Walnut Salad, Fried Ravioli and Pesto, Lobster Ravioli and Sicilian Wild Fennel Pappardelle . Also had Sticky Toffee Tiramisu but no photo. Can’t wait to order again.! .

Gorgeous little place. Have popped in twice now for some pastries to take away and they've been absolutely delicious. Ornella has made them fresh for me both times so they're the best quality when they're eaten, nice and crisp cannolis! We only collected a takeout but the atmosphere inside seemed really nice. The servers were lovely and the food was absolutely amazing, some of the best food I've ever eaten. We got several little plates to share and loved every single one, especially the lobster ravioli! Can't wait to go back again!

Had a fantastic meal last night. What I really liked - apart from the fantastic food - was there are “small plates” available, garlic bread to die for and quiet background music. This means you can actually have a conversation and hear and be heard. The front of house lady will explain any unknown ingredients to you and is very helpful. Can recommend and we will be certainly going again.

I have been to Ornella's a couple of times. It takes me back to one of my favourite holidays to Italy. The food is wonderful, the ambiance is cosy and I love it. It's such a simple Sicilian restaurant that works and it's perfect for anytime of the day. The food was delicious from start to finish. I have also had a take out and it was amazing in terms of the service and the food was amazing!!!

What a little gem of a restaurant. Quite tiny but a neat layout ensures you don't feel crowded even when the place is busy. Food is simple and bursting with genuine flavour. Quality ingredients, cooked right. They play background music which is not intrusive and the overall ambience is friendly, relaxing and quite cosy. Worth mentioning that when the weather's cold you might need to keep your coat on inside, especially when you're seated near the door. Don't let that put you off, the welcome is warm and the food excellent.

Food is amazing, if you can get it! Have been told the kitchen is closing due or its too busy, which I get a that's business and they want to make money, but would be good if they're getting so busy to have a website maybe for updates? Next tike I may have to say I'm reviewing the restaurant as they get in pretty easily! But the food is worth every penny. Was a great little place but in the age of social media and being made popluar, i think a bigger site is going to be needed!

I heard from friends that this was a good restaurant. Wrong. Its a fantastic restaurant, with excellent Italian food. In fact I have to say, it's the best Italian food I have ever tasted. The ingredients, taste and quality are second to none . It's the best restaurant in Denton and I would say in Tameside. Thoroughly recommended 👌

Easily the best Italian I've had in Manchester. Delicious focaccia and only place I've come across so far in UK that cooks carbonara in my preferred way! Couldn't believe how affordable this place was and the staff were lovely. Everyone has to try this little restaurant!

Small Italian bistro. Amazing food and I mean amazing. Not a great choice in drinks but reasonably priced. Service excellent. Not really experienced Italian food apart from Apollo a la creme when I was 18. Tonight I had a starter - humus with warm focaccia bread. The main fettuccine with anchovies, young fennel, sultana's and a small crunchy bean that popped in the mouth. I shared someone's Orio cookie cheesecake with mixed berry compote OMG!! I'm at home now and my stomach still hurts 🤣🤣.

Having visited on numerous occasions plus having done takeout I can safely say the food is worth it. It’s one of the best pasta places in Manchester. The 3 stars I’m giving are to give some constructive feedback on the service which is hit and miss mainly on the weekend. - Tables are always running late on the weekend, which I can understand. However, it’s cheeky to keep reminding people they’ve got 5-10mins left on a table when it was already 20mins late getting it to you. This tends to happen on the weekends where I’m assuming the owner isn’t around to help manage and there isn’t a manager or supervisor to keep an eye on things. I didn’t complain at the time as I actually felt sorry for the 2 people covering it as they are clearly inexperienced and didn’t want to overwhelm them - If you’re late getting the table to the guests, orders should be taken quickly if you want to enforce a time limit. On one occasion our table was late despite having booked and it took ages to get anyone’s attention to order. If it takes 15-20mins to get someone seated and another 15-20mins to take their order that’s already a good chunk of their allocated time that’s been taken up - on takeout orders there’s always been something missing like a dip ie the ravioli is missing the pesto or arancini is missing the honey. It’s not a big deal but it’s annoying when you only realise when you get home and probably points to some mismanagement when it comes to packing up orders

Ornella makes beautiful Italian food, but not a lot of what you might expect. Not a very big menu, but whatever you order will be fabulous. Make sure you book well in advance though as she can only start 16-18 people. Bellissimo.

We had the pappardelle, lobster ravioli, fried ravioli, sandwiches, cannoli, etc. Everything was spot on. On top of that, generous portions and very reasonably priced. This is my new go-to Italian.

I visited this restaurant last Friday and to put it simply, it was fantastic. I have been to all "the best" Italians in Manchester and this wins by a country mile. We had five small pasta dishes between two of and every one of them was superb. if you would like a recommendation go for the sausage Parpadelle dish. Don't hesitate to book this place, go and see it for yourselves. Bottle of Primitivo, 5 Pasta Dishes and Desert came to £55 :)

Wow!! 5 out of 5 for this place. The food is fantastic. We got 3 small pasta dishes and 3 starters between 2 of us. Cost us just over £30 and was plenty to share. We wanted to try as much as we could. Lobster ravioli and truffle fries are amazing! Already we can't wait to go back and try the rest of the dishes. Staff were lovely, very friendly. Inside is lovely, small but very cozy.

Seriously the best Italian food! Absolutely amazing!! Have visited twice but it books up well in advance, so I recommend booking 1.5/2 months before you want to go again😂 pictures show the arancini ball with hot honey dip, meatballs on sourdough, lasagne, small truffle mushroom ravioli and small carbonara with hand cut chips. Always too full for dessert but it looks so good
