Very reasonable and friendly price with high quality food and super friendly and efficient staff. Very pleased that the bread served warm when it comes with the pate. Very aromatic risotto and nice and thick carbonara. Also, a not so sweet tiramisu. An extra sharing: I have witnessed 3 peoples’ birthday today (15/6) in this restaurant, imagine how good the vibe is~~

From a food side service was quick from the kitchen but the pate could have done with another bit of toast due to the volume of pate. The pizza base was lovely but not overly keen on the rest. The carbonara was nice to eat but a little flavourless. I’d give it another go to sample something different on the menu before fully making up my mind

I've been here many times and it's always the same. Impeccable service, great food, clean and pleasant dining area. I would say the prices are reasonable for the quality of the dishes. Well worth a try if you like Italian food!

Slightly strange experience with one staff member who seated us. When taking our drinks order he refused me a coke and held the menu up to my face pointing at the cocktail list which I politely declined asking again for just a coke and he seemed very unimpressed and then proceeded to ask me multiple times sternly if I was alright. My boyfriend asked for water for the table and he replied “it’s possible” begrudgingly. We were both confused and didn’t feel welcomed by him but the rest of the staff were lovely and food was delicious. Definitely worth a visit just very strange service from one of the staff which is a shame. Didn’t catch his name but he was middle aged and bald.

Just been for a lovely anniversary meal with the other half...requested for a bottle of wine to be waiting for us upon arrival, and it was...staff very friendly and attentive, very reasonably priced and the food was hot and delicious. This was my first visit, and rest assured, it won't be my last!

Our first visit here and it was well overdue. What a really nice place. The atmosphere is really cosy, it almost feels like you're part of the family. All the staff are really nice and friendly and there is plenty of them so there is minimum waiting time for them to come and see what it is you need. The food we had was amazing. We obviously had 3 courses and each dish was packed with flavours that will definitely be bringing us back. It was great to see Ray and was introduced to Aldo, honest lovely people.

Me and my wife went for a nice meal there as we live 2mins away and it was our anniversary I'd looked on Google an it matched romantic meal for 2, starters where spot on! Mains was also really nice, an we shared a pizza of witch we took half home l with us in a take out box. Too stuffed for dessert but looking nice, Staff where attentive and pleasant. Visited recently for my birthday, hadn't been for years prior to that. We had an excellent evening, the staff were excellent, very friendly and entertaining and were brilliant with all of us. The food was really good, portion size was perfect for us and the quality was high. Service was quick but we didn't feel rushed. The cocktails were a definite highlight!! Can't wait to go back in the new year.

Food is amazing! Over the last few visits with my family we tried salmon with roast veg, steak with peppercorn sauce and pizzas. All perfectly cooked and served. Deserts are very tasty especially cheesecake. My boys loved the ice creams served in animal plastic containers. The restaurant is very clean, staff friendly and polite. We will definitely be coming back and giving well deserved 5 stars!

I enjoyed the spicey sausage pizza, but boy was it spicey! The cheesey garlic bread wasn't particularly cheesey. The portion size of my family's menu choices looked to be on the small side and they finished their meals quickly. The 'medium' steak was more 'medium/well'. I had vanilla ice cream to finish. I needed it to cool my mouth down. It was delicious, however, the half a strawberry garnish was mouldy. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. I, personally, prefer the other Italian restaurants in urmston.

Always love our meals out at San Giovanni. Friendly, local, relaxed and lovely, straightforward food. Service was a bit hit and miss tonight, but always picked up on by the guys and they apologised, which wasn't really needed as we could see they were busy (which is great to see). This has been our favourite restaurant for years. Haven't been for some time. Really disappointed this weekend. Service was not what it was, very very loud in there too. No parmesan or pepper offered with starters, no vegetables came with the steak, we had to order separately. The wait was long. Oh well.

Two of us went on off chance on a busy Saturday night and got a table - very glad! The food was first class, and their fantastic pasta dishes with eg lobster ravioli, mussel calamari and prawn linguine with amazing sauces had the advantage of cominv as half portions. House red and garli bread topped off a superb experience, well priced for the quality warm ambience, beautiful decor. Cannot praise enough.

After a late Saturday evening trip to the Trauma centre (aka Trafford Centre) we needed some food and I found San Giovanni's on Google. We called and they were happy to accommodate, even though it was 9:30pm. The restaurant was lively, well decorated and welcoming. The staff were incredible, especially Latisha - who is a real credit to the restaurant- she was knowledgeable, friendly and professional. The food was exceptional, we were spoiled for choice, so we went for various "half portions" of dishes...wow! It's not often that you find a place where the service AND the food are great...well done San Gionanni's.. we will be back :)

The staff were all very smartly dressed. They were professional, courteous, and pleasant. The tablecloths and napkins were white and crisp. All tableware was clean. Food was beautiful. However, we did request a round table as there was 12 of us. They said that they would try and if not then they would put tables together in a square. This was not done. The long table meant that some of the party were not near others. That really was only a minor fault but it did mar the night slightly. Staff get 100% rating.

They also have an upstairs function room which is very good. They have a lunch time and early bird set menu as well as the normal menu.

The food here is usually pretty good however my husband had salmon which was cold very dry and the prawns were like bullets. He wouldn't complain because he did not want to spoil the evening and did not tell me why he did not eat it until we had left the restaurant. Everything else was fine. Things seems to go to pot when the restaurant is busy.

Overall not a bad place! Food was delicious apart from my misses ordered a beef stroganoff and it was nothing like! It was just beef and peppercorn sauce! A warm clean venue with a good menu. Its a shame the sea bass arrived without the "menu extras". Veg was cooked ok. When one person informed the staff she wanted a celiac free it arrived with cheese on. Not good. Wine was ok. Some portion sizes need checking as the amount of meat to veg ratio varies. Wont be going back in a hurry.

As always gorgeous food. The pork ribs fell the bone and we're to die for... the only criticism is they need to serve a couple more potatoes with the main meals as I always have to order some more which is a little inconvenient.

Service was very poor I had to go to the bar to request a drink the waiters were behind the bar yet no one checked to see if we would like another drink. Then after they cleared our plates away they never asked if we required to see the sweet menu or offered coffee or tea I even had to go to the bar to get the bill myself.
