After a slightly less than perfect performance on our last visit, the staff were back to their best this time. Table for 4 booked for 7pm we arrived a little early but were seated immediately and given menus, glasses and a bottle opener for the bottles of booze we brought with us. It's like a Downing Street party, BYOB. After a short time we were ordering and our starters arrived in very good time. These were beautiful cooked and very tasty. After finishing the starters the plates were cleared and in no time our mains were on the table. Again fantastic food but it proved too much to finish and we have enough food for another meal in a doggy bag on the kitchen bench hahaha

I've been going to Achellos quite often now. The lunchtime menu is quite affordable, getting a pizza or pasta along with a starter and dessert. I however have found the steaks to be unresistible. They also do a Sunday dinner which is authentic and very tasty. They definitely know how to cook their meat here. Service is very helpful and friendly, they will also package anything for takeout. This is a must try for anyone who loves Italian food or any food for that matter.

I went yesterday with the kids. This place is really good. I was v impressed. Service was excellent as was the cleanliness of the place. Wide selection on the menu. Decent value for money. The portion sizes of starters and main courses was impressive. Meatballs and prawn starters were really good, Calamari were a bit underdone but nothing really wrong with them. Two pasta main courses were very good. Steak main was well cooked. The quality of the steak was really good. The only real negative was the "seasonal vegetables" with the steak seemed like they'd been cooked for 48 hours they were so bendy and tasteless. I suspect it's because we were their last customers of the day and the vegetables had been sitting in the kitchen for a long time after being cooked as part of one big batch they use for the day. However, that's a really minor point, overall it was excellent. The food is what I've seen called "hearty Italian" before ie not very subtle but lots of flavour, good quality ingredients, big portions and a warm welcome. I'd definitely come back next time I'm in town.

Great food, garlic butter is out of this world, great value for money, really friendly staff and great atmosphere... Can take your own alcohol which is great when catching up with the lasses... They box up your leftovers to take home and when I order delivery portions are exactly same as you get in restaurant.

Love this Italians, very family friendly and also great for an intimate night out with your partner, very friendly staff, cracking food, I love abbiata and there's is lovely aswell, very affordable prices & Sunday lunch is fantastic, you basically eat until the food had gone, very easy place to get to, easy to walk to if local, lots of buses go past it & you can use the car park which is just along from the restaurant & free parking. Love this place, been there four times and each time it's been spot on, don't have a bad word to say about the place to be honest.

I always have had - without fail - over the last 2 years brilliant food from here. I’ve brought family & friends from out of town and they’ve all been “wowed” by the quality of the food and the fair pricing. Fantastic steaks. Friendly staff.a dozen of us had a double birthday there recently and two of the staff came out with a cake and 3 candles on it and sang happy birthday to us.they have cheap nights through the week. This is a great place to drop into on your way to Newcastle for a night out. Most people know the big Morrison's off the 167 on the way in and it is a stone's throw from there. The food is not gourmet but it is great value and extremely nice. It also allows you to bring your own alcohol. Well worth a visit.

What an absolute gem of a restaurant. I have been numerous times with my wife and every time has been a pleasure. The menu is vast and we are currently working our way through it to find our favourites. At the moment it has to be the Garlic prawn starter, rib eye steak, pepperoni pizza and bbq chicken skewers. Can't wait to try their burgers. Super friendly staff and management. Attentive without being being overbearing. I can't recommend this restaurant high enough.

If you are wanting a glass of wine or a beer you will need to bring your own as it is unlicensed but staff are happy to provide glasses and open bottles for you..

Service attentive, genuine local staff, food excellent (I haven't had better restaurant lasagne anywhere else) good value, unpretentious, clean, family friendly if a little noisy when we visited (5:30 on last Friday of the school hols), PROPER PIZZA OVEN, and BYOB policy (wine glasses provided) helps keep the bill low. ( Necessary because local land covenants prohibit alcohol on-sales) What is not to like? Three courses on a Friday evening for four, soft drinks for driver, table water and use of wineglasses £46:00. And tasty. Good veggie options too. Snobs will hate it (and do!), decent folk will appreciate it (and do!) and foodies should give it a try. Will go again.

First time visiting with my family, the intial look of the place was good. Modern. Clean and contemporary design. The drinks and starters came quickly and tasted great. The mains were also great and served in a good time. However once we had finished. We were left waiting for a long time. With no waiters to be seen. Eventually I asked a passing waiter that we Had finished our mains and would like to order our deserts. The waiter asked how the food was, I said all was great, however the beef stroganoff had to much sauce that the beef was submerged. The waiter with a bad tone said that I could have asked for less sauce when ordered. I mentioned that I should have been giving the option and that this is the first time I have had this dish with so much sauce. The waiter then responds with. This is how we do it. The waiter had a attitude issue and spoilt the mood of the evening. After our deserts. Another waiter came over to ask if everything was good. And what we thought of the food. I mentioned regrading the beef stroganoff, and the waiter was very understanding. Overall good evening apart from the small attitude issue. Hence the 3 stars.

Gathered some lads from work there was 22 of us in total most of us had steak n burgers gotta say everything was spot on didnt have a chance to say anything was bad. The staff was great and we all got looked after good.
