Visited Fortuna on thursday evening and by god the food was simply amazing. The side portion roast garlic potatoes were so fluffy and the Calamari was so yummy. The main meal Ravioli was full of flavours and the Linguine Scoglio was amazing , the muscles, prawns were so fresh ..absolutely loved it !! Definitely be back 😊

Visited on a Saturday evening. Didn’t realise how BIG the place is inside! They had a DJ on which seems quite random for a restaurant but it was actually really enjoyable. I had a pizza and fries and they were delicious. Staff couldn’t have done enough to help during our visit. Only reason for 4/5 was I wasn’t keen on the chairs they have to sit on in the bar area part. But maybe that’s just because I’ve got a rather big butt ha

We had a family party of 10 people to celebrate my mam's 90th birthday. Fortuna is lovely. The atmosphere is wonderful and celebratory - there were two or three other birthday celebrations going on and the staff made each and every one special. The food was delicious of course - a genuine wood fired pizza oven really makes the difference - and the friendly and helpful service was above and beyond. I'm sure my family will find more excuses to gather here again. Thank you for helping to make the day special for a wonderful mam.

Food was great, atmosphere on a Friday was buzzing however we were never asked how our food was or offered a second drink in two fours for a table of 4. Has happened twice now and want to support local businessess.

Firstly, there is a lot to like about this place, it's full of atmosphere, nicely decorated and the staff are attentive and friendly. We ordered cocktails to start which were lovely and well made, then organic white wine which was lovely and ice cold. There's a good choice of food something for most tastes. We went for cheesy garlic bread to share, which was as described; incredibly cheesy and garlicy, but a tad burnt, but without any fuss they just didn't charge us for it. For mains we had salmon and seafood linguini, both ample portions for northern girls; a massive slab of salmon which was cooked to perfection for me with around eight million potatoes and a good size bowl of linguini for my friend bursting with lots of seafood, again excellent and good value. 2 drawback, the girls serving were excellent, then one young lad came up to give us our mains and just said "ooz-is-ooz"? Which made us laugh, but I thought after that it didn't seem that fittingwith the rest of the teams attitude. The second thing was the music SOOOOO LOOOOUD! I'm ok with it being Friday night to get the punters in but it was insane. Turn it down! All in all a lovely experience. Ta pet.

We choose the £25 three courses and we're not disappointed. You can add extras for a little supplement but everything we had was cooked perfectly, very tasty, great cocktails. We're also been for lunch and had the small plates which were actually more than enough and excellent value for money. There's a very positive vibe in this place, music is great, service not bad even when busy. Give it a go.

On for a late lunch today.Food is really great but it was virtually thrown on the table and the "bedside manner" of the one waiter on our table showed a preference of speed over small talk. Then they charge a 10% service charge. Disappointing.

We ordered two margaritas and two vegetarian to collect. When we arrived half an hour later, they seemed oblivion to the order. It seemed that they then hurriedly made the pizzas. The two vegetarian had only courgette, raw mushroom and raw onion on them. The aubergine and peppers were missing. Could do better. I was visiting from London and a bit disappointed. Great service and the food is fantastic. Takeaway boxes for anything you don't finish and a good cocktail menu. Recently tried breakfast here and a good selection, the bacon and sausages were excellent from the bbq.

3 stars for food alone, which was excellent and reasonably priced. What a shame about the rest of the experience! The service was abysmal. It took around 20 minutes for anyone to ask if we wanted a drink, despite quite a few staff passing by and clearing tables around us. My wife's cocktail (a raspberry Collins without straw or stirrer) then arrived but no sign of my Coke, which I had to chase after a further 10 minutes. I noticed that the staff were too busy dancing near the bar and going over to talk to the DJ who was tying to vape inside the restaurant (illegal) without anyone noticing and failing miserably. The staff were pleasant when they did interact with us at least, although being slapped on the back by the young lad who led me to my seat was a bit much! As I said the food was great and my wife's pasta arrived in good time, but unfortunately had been on our table for a few minutes before my pizza had even been started. I watched the chef come out of the kitchen and begin to stretch the dough when she had already had 3 forkfulls. I appreciate the disclaimer on the menu that items may come at slightly different times, but that takes the Micky. Another thing we didn't care for was the insanely loud music, which may have been appropriate for the outside bar area but way too much for the restaurant and gave me a headache. Perhaps a door or turn it down slightly? Overall a place to avoid if you want a nice meal with friends or family, but I would recommend for a boozey night out where the only thing you care about is getting drunk and maybe deciding you want a pizza later.

Wanted so much to give five stars because the food was just incredible, especially the Sardinian pasta with sausage dish *chef’s kiss*. Extensive drinks list, fair prices and I love the new layout and decor! I’ve been twice now and recommended to friends. Unfortunately, the service was just dire. Most of the staff working seem like disinterested teenagers who couldn’t care less about the customers and were focussed more on chatting and helping themselves to drinks behind the bar. There were little things like waitresses with long fingernails with chipped polish, the bill slapped on our table without any mention of the restaurant closing, no recommendation to use the app since you can get drinks discounts on there, which we weren’t aware about, and complete disinterest when serving. It was if none of the management/bosses were around and they were just acting as they pleased. Since we enjoyed the food and all-round experience, I’d definitely not pass up on Fortuna next time!! But if any of the management read this, I’d really recommend they up the service as it was a serious disappointment.

Fortuna is a genuine Italian restaurant with very nice pizzas! Service was friendly, although a little on the slow side as we waited 45 minutes for a starter. However, all in all, I would recommend Fortuna for anyone looking for somewhere to have lunch or dinner in Gosforth.

Decent place to eat out proper Italian food. Reasonable prices and great selection of spirits wines and beers. The pizza is XXL and delicious. There is also big place outside with tables ideal for smokers. This place worth a visit at least. The waiters were very polite and professionals.

Second time I`ve been here. Atmosphere and surroundings are great even on Monday night.An 1/2 hr wait to get to table and service a little slow are only minor downsides.Food is fab and pizza is excellent Back for a visit in Apr 22,It`s called Adrianos Fortuna now. Food still great,enjoyed the ribs, pizza, Padrón peppers. The vibe and decor has changed all looks good.Music playing loud as you walk in to the restaurant,thankfully it is not so loud in the main eating area.I enjoyed it but can appreciate the comments regarding the loud music in the bar area.Obviously they've gone after the younger customer here which is understandable.I left a tip, as you do and found there is a 10% service charge on the bill which I discovered the next day.😁🤣😒

Had a lovely meal at Adriano's tonight from the special evening menu. Lovely crisp potato skins with one of the nicest bbq sauce dips I have had, seemed very tomato friendly. Then I had a lovely prosciutto and mushroom pizza which was bigger than the plate!! I have had to bring some home for my lunch tomorrow. Very reasonably priced and with money off in January too which was a surprise. A lovely romantic evening with good service even though it was very busy in the restaurant. We will return! 😊

We first went to Adriano's 3 or 4 years ago, and go back regularly when ever we are in the UK. Sadly, our very good memories of the place could not be replicated this time. The food is fine, nothing wrong, and the wine list is still as good as it ever was, but something has changed, and I put it down to the atmosphere. Seems to me that the decision has been taken to cater mainly for groups and parties, and for me that has changed the ambiance.

A tiny bit inconsistent (please don't keep changing the bread served prior to the meal, and do make sure it's not freezing cold), but I would class it as one of my favourite restaurants. Staff are excellent and mostly very friendly. Service is also very good on the whole, though one time (out of dozens) I did feel forgotten about even though we were never to where the staff congregate. I would (and do) recommend this restaurant as one of the best Italian restaurants in Newcastle. Pizzas are freshly made and the cheese is 100% mozzarella unlike most places (ie Sambucas). Loses 1 star for the strange Sunday Lunch I had (sea bream I think) which came with Yorkshire pudding and Sunday veg. It didn't work!

Really disappointed at take away food. For £4.50 a portion did not expect 3 meatballs and about 6 pieces of ravioli.
