Great atmosphere and delicious food. Everything I would expect from a traditional Italian. A little chaotic with the table arrangements but perfectly fine in the end if not a bit squashed onto a table next to the fireplace. Definitely worth a visit and will most certainly return.

Lovely Ristorante. The food was amazing especially their Pizza. Took my son who just turned 4 to the restaurant and it was very child-friendly and a pleasant dining. The staff were amazing too. Loved it!

Absolutely loved this place. The starter was so filling I struggled to eat the pizza. If you ask them they are happy to box it up for you to eat later. The staff were lovely, the gent that took our order had a laugh with us as I tried my best to say what I wanted from the menu whilst not doing very good with the Italian accent. Will definitely visit again when visiting my son.

Let's make this perfectly simple Avantis is magical, they do Italian right. The atmosphere in this restaurant matches the food. It's simply top class, the service no matter how packed the venue is flawless and friendly. The pizza is like heaven, and the tiramisu should be illegal.

Great little Italian restaurant located near the West Jesmond metro stop. Food is good and staff are friendly. The prices are reasonable, especially for the pizza and pasta dishes, and portions sizes are good. The restaurant itself is cozy and the atmosphere is always vibrant. Recommended.

Really nice family run restaurant with lots of Italian decor items. The staff were very accommodating for our large family and everyone enjoyed the atmosphere as well as the food, which includes a children's menu. This is a popular place and can fill up quickly.

Well the place was heaving as this was New Years Eve and yes we did have to wait a little time to be seated (party of eight) but were kept well entertained by the bar staff. The atomsphere was electric and the staff efficient and very friendly. The food was gorgeous and all in all we had a fantastic evening thanks to the host and hostess and yes we'll certainly be back.

Wonderful food! Yes, some younger staff need more training or simply, experience but come on guys, we all need to start somewhere - don't we? The mature female overseeing the bar was superb! Thank You! My only complaint, if you can call it that, was that, yes, it is cramped. But shabby and chiq' or 'authentic', rustic, charming :)) Please get some decent house wine tho' for those of us who sadly, had to drive only one glass :(( I'm booking my table for next Sat!

We have eaten here four times now. It is quite simply first rate. The menu is interesting and with a reasonable variety and number of choices. Helpings are a good size and very tasty. Wines are reasonably priced the list offers a good choice. But the best thing of of all is the ambiance. That is to say, the friendly staff, the helpful manager and the warmth of the decoration. We will be back again and again.

Great night out at Avanti. Excellent cheeseless Quattro Stagioni pizza: highly recommend. The music is fantastic: hits from 60s and 70s. Guess they maybe saw us coming! Friendly buzz to the whole place and the lady owner is very professional while remaining genuinely warm and friendly.

Been a few times now and the food is just fab and the staff sooo friendly... I or someone in my party have had starters of fishcakes, whitebait, pate and of course the minestrone soup all gorgeous... The mains we've had chicken in a sauce, lasagne, pizza all fab... We've not had a pudding but have bottles of wine reasonable price... This is a. Small friendly restaurant and reminds me of our visits to Italy... In the summer months u can sit outside where there are twinkling lights... I will definitely be back

Small friendly Italian restaurant, good food and prices. Been going there for years and not been disappointed. Best advice is to book a table as it is always busy (a good sign, it's not just me who likes the place)

The only thing that is good about this place is the food. Staff & deco very shabby. The waiter we had must of got dressed in the dark. For goodness sake, fasten your tie properly. Way too many tables crammed in the place, asked for the bill 3 times. Soon got it when I got up to leave. Sort yourselves out & I will be back.

Lovely, rustic italian restaurant with friendly waiters and a lovely manager who was more than willing to help out and made sure everyone was comfortable. He was very polite, calling everyone Lady or Sir and even made sure we were okay with the waiter taking our empty plates (He was also Italian, which was amazing). Food was excellent from starter to desert, well priced and very filling. The apple tart alone is reason enough to visit, mouth wateringly good. They have a wide range of foods and beverage and, as we witnessed, they are more than willing to set up tables specially if requested. We'd well recomend a visit, it was a delightful, popular little place with beautiful ambient lighting and a rustic, friendly atmosphere.

A good night ruined shocking service. When place is full it appears kitchen staff can't cope. It's a shame as the food was good one it arrived. oh and don't expect it all to arrive together. got a round of drinks as compensation but had to haggle hard for that. will not go back.
