Reviews of Central Oven & Shaker

The music is aimed at a late 40’s hen-do, but I can let a bit of Spice Girls slide.
It’s conveniently located on the walk from the Station to St James Park. Pizzas are served quickly and it’s easy to get a table, so you can pop in for a bite on your way into town.
I didn’t like the Heat and meat pizza as the chicken was dry and roasted red onions aren’t my fave. The fig and blue cheese pizza was a taste sensation.
The neapolitan pizzas are well-spotted on the base, thin and floppy in the traditional style. The sauce is tasty too, however the crust is a bit dense and not puffy, so it isn’t top tier. If burrata is your thing, the deep fried burrata is great, however the focaccia was disappointing as it’s a bit dry and flavourless.
The service was good, 2 for 1 cocktails are a nice perk and it had a really chic and Instagrammable design.

Cocktails were too sweet, u can not even feel an alcohol in it but looking impressive. I have orderd steak and it was well done instead of medium raw however nicely second and not chewing. Great service, fancy interior with loud vibrating music. Great location.

Lush pizza and cocktails. Moderately priced food and cocktails. Cocktails are a bit sickly for my taste but can appreciate them for what they are and the target demographic.

The whole of Newcastle was pretty quiet on Friday when we were there for a works night out, cocktails are lovely, got served quickly. Been previously when I was with friends, it was very busy, took ages to get served and got orders a bit mixed up

Went for the bottomless afternoon tea!! Food was delicious. And our server was great, didn't get his name but he was really lovely and efficient, had a great afternoon. Lush atmosphere as well. Will be back!

Came in for a few for drinks in the bar area. Seating was nice, drinks were good and the atmosphere was vibey.
Only negative is its price, compared to other local watering holes it's a bit pricey. And the music is a little too loud last Friday.

Lovely place, made a point of booking a table before we got up to Newcastle because its that nice. The staff are attentive and friendly and it sells Strongbow, unlike most other pubs in Newcastle. Will be back soon on our next visit.
