Best pizza I’ve ever had! Quality fresh ingredients and very filling, the garlic bread and waffle fries were delicious too. We got it delivered it was perfect will definitely be back.

To my limited knowledge, this is the only shop that serves Detroit-style pizza in Newcastle. Square is a modern shop, located in a nice street (Market Street), where you can have your ‘unique pizza’. Although it is not the best pizza in the world, you will definitely enjoy well-made, delicious pizza with a friendly staff. I will surely come again and again. They also have vegetarian and vegan options.

Absolutely loved it. Generous toppings, super flavorful, and overall just very, very well done pizza. I was initally worried that it was just going to be too much crust, but oh my god the topping sauce just oozes through and it was delicious! I kept some slices for the next few days and it was still just as tasty (after heating it up for a bit).

Insanely scrumptious and unique Detroit style square pizza! A truly niche pizza offering in a city with seemingly hundreds of pizza places. I have had three pizzas from the menu and they were all exceptional. Not the cheapest pizza you’ll find in Newcastle but it is definitely worth the price.

I've been a few days ago, and it's been really good! Might be a bit more on the expensive side for a pizza, but it's really justified - it tastes great and they use quality ingredients! Got my slice in a promotion with a side of waffle fries (which were nice too) and a dip so the total was exactly seven pounds - which is absolutely okay price for a meal. I never really looked for deep dish pizza, but if you're not afraid of a little change, you won't regret. Came back the other day and definitely not the last time!

Have you ever been somewhere so good, you return for a second time on the day? This is exactly what happened to me when discovering Square. If you're a fan of pizza this place should be on your foodie bucket list because it's exceptional to say the least. From a large menu catering to all (including Veggie and vegan options), to friendly staff checking if everything is alright with your order and having a chat with you over the counter my experience was flawless. The pizza itself is great, unlike any other pizza you'll find in Newcastle. Detritus style, deep dish with a burnt cheese crust with loads of creative topping ideas I guarantee you'll get stuck trying to choose a flavour like me. Can't recommend this place enough, I will be back!

I was never a fan of deep pan , well that's until I visited this establishment. Completely blown away by the pizza. It was so delicious , attempting to eat a full pie between two of us. Nearly caused our deaths. But yeah this place is awesome. Go there eat pizza be happy.

Situated on Market St in Newcastle this is a handy place for lunch on the go or in small groups. Indoors there is a perimeter breakfast bar and 6 two person seats on the street outside. There were 9 in our group so we ate outside with the traffic. If you like DEEP pan pizza then this is the place for you. The flavours were good but they didn't pop. Waffle fries are well executed, crispy, and seasoned adequately. The pepperoni pizza is freshly baked, so it's good if you like bread, but the flavour of pepperoni and cheese is drowned out by the sauce, sour cream and herbs. The sauce is a little acidic for my liking and could use a little more sweetness to balance it. This is a competent pizza House and not too expensive, but it's let down by the ambiance and slightly muted flavours.

4.5 stars. Have eaten here multiple times and their pizza is easily the best I've ever had, if you order a whole freshly made pie. The reheated slices on their own have that old pizza feel as the cheese doesn't melt completely so I cannot recommend those. Took off half a star for that.

Really nice to see interesting choices of vegan toppings. Had square twice now and although I've enjoyed it I have found that the topping has been very acidic to the point its a bit difficult to eat getting to the end of the first slice. I would've given 5 stars otherwise because if it wasn't for that it would be soooo good.

Customer service was great, as the woman on the tills was polite, explained the deals, and dropped our food on our table for us The restaurant is clean, well furnished, and I loved the colour scheme The food is so, so good! Pizzas are proper Detroit-style slices - thick, crispy, and tasty, and there is a good variety of slices to try. The criss-cut fries on the side are absolutely devine, especially with the garlic aioli dip. Nice choice of beers too, which was good to have. Actually really looking forward to my next visit here, definitely one to recommend - especially for catching up with a friend or treating yourself in the summer

The pizza is really good, and the place itself seems very clean! I would go again, but would probably get takeout as the pizza did take a little while to be served and the stools aren't the most comfortable. Really, really enjoyed the Clancy Wiggum pizza though!

I do not say this lightly when I state this is possibly the best Pizza in Newcastle and that means a lot considering the standard we have available to us in the form of Scream for Pizza and Gingerino's to name just two great Pizza establishments. It means even more when I say I'm usually not a fan of deep dish Pizza. I had mine delivered but I can't wait to head into town and try more of their options in person. Would give more than 5 stars if I could and I am currently telling everyone I know about this place. Great job!

First up: really tasty pizza, and very different to most of what you can find in pizzas in this country. Get there before half 7 as they were running out of slices for some flavours, even though they close at 9. That said, service wasn't great - felt a bit like they hadn't yet found the best balance for staff between working with in shop customers and fulfilling take out orders, so there were a few weird moments where taking my order face to face got interrupted, and I had to remind I had ordered a beer to get poured. Pizzas came out their oven re-crisp a bit early too. That said I'd definitely be back next time in Newcastle, and glad they have the business. Hope they can expand to more of the UK!

Went for an ‘in house’ experience at Square in town recently. It was awesome, nice deco, cool sounds. Of course I was there for the food. I opted for the Chicky Parm and decided to do the deal adding waffle fries and chose the garlic aioli dip. Chicky Parm was awesome, the base sauce is so tasty and the chicken combo on top was lush. It was the first time I’d tried the waffle fries too and they were tremendous, perfect accompaniment for a lunch time meal. Can’t wait to head back and try the ‘pep talk’. I’ve had the red top too (tasty) and I think my fav so far is veg-a-squarian which I highly recommend! It has an amazing candied jalapeño Mayo which you have to try!

Nice pizza, although quite expensive. 3 stars only because the staff is handling the food with bare hands, taking payments, touching other surfaces and touching (preparing-slicing..) food again without washing/sanitising hands at all in between. This is unacceptable at all times but more so in current times with Covid. Single use gloves would look better on somebody handling food and perhaps the person preparing and handling the food shouldn’t do other tasks without washing hands in between different tasks.
