Visited with friends for lunch. There were 7 of us. Hadn't been there for ages. Lots of choices on the menu. We all really enjoyed our meal. The waitress who served us was excellent. Friendly and helpful and clearly enjoyed what she was doing. We are planning to return in October and are considering booking a pre Christmas Lunch in December.

Took a while to get a beer as the bar staff were all cooing over a very small dog. Otherwise a very friendly and sometimes boisterous bar. More than enough TVs to cater for sports lovers. Food portions are tremendous value for money

Popped in for lunch on Thursday and was very pleasantly surprised how good the food was. The fish and chips were lovely and the batter on the outside was light and crispy and crunchy, it was perfect. The fish was lovely and meaty and my friends Southern fried chicken Wrap was excellent. She even was impressed that they left out the cheese and she is dairy intolerant. The staff were very knowledgeable and i was impressed with their level of service. Nothing was too much trouble.

We live just round the corner from The Black Dog so when we saw "kids eat for a £1" sign we couldn't miss it! Beautiful authentic Scottish food, great atmosphere, 4 clean plates - 2 of them from kids! Which if you have kids you know how difficult it is! Very homely feel and nice experience all together. Hats off to manager David McNair for doing great job!

Limited menu, but it is the first day after hopefully the last lockdown. Had to wait to be seated, but that's ok under the current circumstances. We were asked how many households we were from, the track and trace details were taken. All the rules were explained in detail, then we were escorted in to our table. There were 4 of us and we had, 2 Large Fish and Chips, 1 Double Cheese and Bacon Burger with Onion Rings and 1 BBQ Chicken, Bacon & Cheese Melt. The fish was crispy and flavoursome and the chips were cooked just right and came with peas. The double burger was cooked well and had a lot of flavour. The chips were nice and the onion rings were crunchy and tasty. The BBQ Chicken had bags of flavour and the chips again were nice. Came with peas also. No alcohol is allowed to be served indoors with your meal yet, outside only, but as it was pouring rain outside we were not interested in that. Scottish government rule, but I don't see a problem of 2 alcoholic drinks maximum with your meal indoors personally. The staff were friendly, but we've always found them friendly. Once the menu goes back to an enhanced menu, we'll go back.

Was in tonight with family. Service great. Very affordable. We had 3 from the starter menu, 2 mains, 1 side , 2 desserts, 2 bottles of wine, 2 cokes, 1 shandy and 2 coffees. Bill just under £65. Absolute steal. Everything was lovely. Staff very friendly. 1 guy I cant remember his name but him, paula and Euan and the chef are a credit to the company. Keep up the fantastic work.

Me, my friends and my grandad have been coming to the Black dog for 8 years - well grandad 20 years - and have always regarded it as the best pub in Bridge of Don. Friendly locals and staff - especially Natalie and Steph - good food and cheap prices make it ideal for anyone local or visitors. Always a pleasure to visit!

My family eats here religiously, okay service and friendly staff. I join them occasionally but not as often as I'd like due to the lack of vegan options. I don't want to eat the same one meal every time I go so more vegan dishes would be appreciated!

Food in lounge is cheap different deals on each day of the week. Clean tolets. Large car park. Not fancy but well kept. Visit about once a month as live near by. Once home of Aberdeen's best pool team, but no more.
