Nice place for a good lunch / dinner. Staff attentive and seemly family owned. You could tell the food was really fresh. Had the fire on which was ace. Also for any smokers there is a nice bit outside the front with a comfy seat.

Atmosphere was friendly, food was amazing, rooms are very clean and well equipped for all your needs although the beds are very firm and the pillows could be better. We stayed in room 1 and the toilet seemed to have a constant trickle which caused the system to keep filling up throughout the night causing a constant disturbance but overall was a pleased experience

Traditional pub serving home cooked food with 5 contemporary bordering on boutique en-suite rooms. Coastal walks just minutes away. Stonehaven and Aberdeen a short drive. Plenty of parking. Only misses out on a 5 star due to not catering well for food intolerances. Call well ahead and the excellent hosts will do everything to accommodate you.

My son and his partner stayed here whilst they were over on a visit. Room was adequate, nice king size bed, good bathroom and shower. Owners very helpful. Only one problem on one of the nights there were some very noisy guests in the adjoining room, walls are very thin, and they were kept awake until early hours!!

It's like stepping into a lost and forgotten world, albeit a warm and pleasant one! Lovely little pub on outskirts of Old Portlethen, and a great location to relax, sit and enjoy the excellent beer and the relaxed atmosphere, even our normally exciteable Jack Russel dog was tolerated, and managed to chill out.

Great place. Great atmosphere. My wife and I stopped off for an overnight stay on honeymoon and the only regret is it wasnt a longer stay, the homemade food was magnificent, the drinks were reasonably priced and the atmosphere was great. The locals included us in conversations, told us about the place and before I forget it's also dog friendly so if you wanted to bring your dog you can.

Off the beaten track but worth visiting. Great banter with the owner who was serving us. That was with it alone. However, great range of whisky and gin at the gin bar. Food was Lovely and catered for vegetarians and vegans. Prices were better than most. Looking forward to going back.

Wee gem of a place. We checked in late evening and the restaurant was closed however Gerry went out of his way and prepared us a fantastic meal. Nothing was a bother for these fantastic hosts. Room was clean , cosy and had everything you needed. Well worth a visit. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Just arrived for a night's stay. Had an amazing meal. Steak pie was delicious and would definitely recommend it. Room is lovely and staff are so friendly. Will definitely be back for another night.
