Big portions and creative menu, enjoyable experience quiet local pub with home cooked food, not too bad on price, we were a little sceptical at first as there was 7 of us and we were concerned we would pay over the odds for store bought microwaved food but we couldn't have been more wrong! The food was great and the fact the pub is accommodating to dogs aswell was great as we have a large breed puppy that's nervous around new people and he was just left alone with 2 huge chicken breasts on the house! Lovely service and proper local pub. Definitely recommend!

Great pub with some nice beers. Also happy for us to park a Motorhome overnight. For a smallish town was quite lively on a Friday night. Very friendly and a great spot. We also walked over the road to see the sunset from the beach. Very beautiful.

We all travelled to Borth for the father in laws 70th birthday, and he organised a meal for us all ....all 22 of us the food was amazing not one complaint and all empty plates well worth a visit

Jaynes at The Railway restaurant : excellent home cooking with super salads. Hadn't been there for 12 months and asked for a meal from the old menu because we enjoyed it so much. Not only was this no trouble but they improved it. Steak baguette covered with cheese, onions,mushrooms chips and super salad.

We booked in to eat tonight for a family of 4. The food was incredible and very well priced. Nothing beats a freshly cooked meal. The service from the staff was great. They were friendly, welcoming and genuinely seem to be happy working there and meeting new people. They went out of their way to talk to my children and gave them a special treat when they finished their food. We were all so full that we couldn't fit in pudding. Fortunately they were able to offer this as takeaway... So we filled our boots. The pub is dog friendly which we loved as we are dog lovers. There was a dog from a local customer there who was very friendly. The restaurant staff saw the children's interest in this dog and very kindly offered to introduce them to the dog. The children loved this. My only quarm is that we don't live close enough to make this our local.

Proper village pub. Landlord is a top bloke. Great food by Jayne. Lounge bar for quiet drinking and the saloon bar for party time. Seating outside for o or 100 people, 90% covered. Sambuca heaven.

Went into the restaurant part of the pub. Plenty of space. They were originally at the boulders cafe above a mini supermarket on the seafront. We used to have breakfasts there so we knew they would be good. My hubby had the curry which was delicious & I had 2 starters done on one plate. Was plentiful & would definitely have again. They were very friendly. I polished off with their home made sherry trifle which I was ogling from afar. You can't beat homemade, which everything was, yum. Cant wait to go back on our next trip to borth.

Arrived a 2pm on an October Monday and the inn was open for lunch. Good, no-nonsense pub food, the steak sandwich and fish cakes were outstanding. The absolute draw though, are the puddings which are outstanding, we had cheesecake and a perfect lemon meringue roulade. I'd go back just for the pudding. Kitchen cleanliness is perfect, they have a 5* hygiene rating which is, iMHO, fully deserved. Final plus is that they are dog-friendly, and not just as a sticker on the door. I counted 5 dogs for 4 tables.

Best pub in Borth. The owners and staff are all great people, very friendly, kind and jolly. Loads of room outside amongst the plants and flowers for a 100 people. Also a TV inside and outside for sports. Selection of around 15 set meals to choose from like fish, pies, chicken, jacket potatoes and paninis. Train station is about 5 minutes walk away, with the beach just over the road. I will miss this place now until next year.

Good old fashioned Sunday Lunch! Had Sunday lunch and booked for 8 adults originally but when I asked if more friends could join us they went out of their way to accommodate our group Of 16 people. Meal choices were Lamb, Beef and Pork and there was a choice of options for veggies with vegetarian gravy. Will definitely be back. Could not believe how rude one of the ‘walk in’ customers was when they were turned away due to level of pre booked meals, as they were moaning that table s were empty so therefore they should be allowed to sit but of course you have to reserve the tables for pre bookings. Jayne said she does allow walk ins but service will depend on how many bookings there are. On the day we are she was serving 16 of us outside under the marquee and 15 indoors!

Good pub serving pub grub and a great atmosphere. We were touring with friends in two Motorhomes and we stopped overnight on their car park. Its a short walk over the road to the beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful even though the pub was full and they were busy. Recommended for food and beer.

A lovely friendly welcome, great food and a great gin selection. What a find. So pleased we was recommended this place. Proper home made food too. Children's portions were sensibly sized to suit our children, my lamb shank was divine! It fell apart and was packed full of gorgeous flavours.

Amazingly friendly staff, everyone that we had any dealings with were fantastic. We sat in the beer garden had a few drinks and a bit of food. I highly recommend you pop in for a visit. Post covid they have lots of sanitizing stations and all table service. The owners were out with the staff making sure all is going smoothly in these strange times. The landlady was very informative and knowledgeable. We will defferntly stop in if passing these parts again. A big thanks to all that made out visit so memorable.

Over many a year this is the go to pub in the high street bar none for quality well kept beer and always will be with the current landlord. Sadly the food has gone down hill rapidly which is now a separate entity to the pub. If you hear the microwave ping your food is coming along with fruit in your side salad to taint your savoury microwave meal, I guess pudding and main course all in one...

Went here tonight for a meal, lovely and very dog friendly we had our 2 large Leonberger dogs with us. Food in Von’s restaurant was very good. Good variety on menu plus they have a specials board and tonight had sweet and site chicken , Thai sweet chilli chicken and crispy duck with plums sauce - which is what I had and it was delicious. My husband had the sirloin steak again delicious. Food was cooked to order and come out piping hot. Both had waffles for dessert and extra ice cream for the dogs which came in 2 plastic containers for them. If in the area again will definitely be going back for a meal again.

Massive, far too big portions of otherwise nice food. Size matters as you work your way through the flavours wear out, cheese becomes stringy and chips a bit rubbery. OK with price but the "never mind the quality, feel the width" approach spoilt it for me.
