Authentic pub with not only pub food. Try their sizzling signature dish Stir Fry - it's available in all kinds of different flavours. Recommended to make a reservation because it is often quite booked and sometimes closed for no obvious reasons.

Really nice, called on a Wednesday dinner time and it was quite busy which is a good sign. Ordered sandwiches and soup with a side of chips all of it was really nice. I don't like door stop size sandwiches which these were but the bread was that soft it was gorgeous. Good service and nice surroundings really good. Two sandwich meals one soup four coffees and chips £24. Also one side of the pub is dog friendly

Into a characteristic pub, you can find tasty food and lovely people. I recommend you ribeye 10oz (see picture below).

Dog friendly in the bar, which appears to be a rarity in the Furness peninsula. Food was excellent, not cheap, but worth it. Ham and tomato on granary bread was superb. Beer garden looked wonderful but not the weather to take advantage. Would go again in a heartbeat if ever in the locality. Unfortunately the no dog policy of many establishments around here may mean that it's not going to happen.

By far one of the best pubs I've been too and I'm ashamed to say the first time I've ever been although I've lived in the town all my life! Food is top notch, it makes others around Barrow look 2nd rate. Staff are beyond 5* ... kind, helpful and nothing is too much! Went out of their way to make my son smile and enjoy his visit. Clean....tidy.....fantastic surroundings, nice beer garden... Thank you for a brilliant lunch time 🙌🙌🙌 I'd recommend to anyone!

We found this lovely pub after the 1st one we tried said they had stopped doing food .Lucky for us because the food here was excellent & even though they were very busy they very kindly squeezed us in, we had a little bit of a wait as expected but we just sat & had a drink.Will definitely visit again next time we are in the area.

Heard a lot about this place… I went for a starters of cod goujons and scampi and salt and pepper chips for main. It was fantastic. The beer was just under 4quid a pint for ipa (unicorn) price wise starters main and 2 beers set me back £28 which wasn’t too bad.would defo go again

Always love visiting The Crown, we take a detour to get the amazing food. The cajun chicken baguettes are famous for good reason. Since going veggie I haven't had the pleasure of eating one, but I tried their halloumi dish which was lovely. It came with polenta in the style of almost chunky chips which was delicious and unique, I've not seen anything like this on a menu before. Would definitely recommend trying dipping the halloumi in the cajun sauce, godly!! Just wish they had a few more veggie choices on the menu. There are a few options, but not loads, and don't even bother if you're vegan. Wish they would add halloumi baguettes or tofu stir fries to the menu!

Probably the best pub food I've ever had, and that is saying doming after doing hundreds of reviews. Staff were friendly and helpful. Menu is quite varied but the 4 meals we ordered were all superb and brought out at the same time which is no mean feat on a Friday evening in a busy pub.

A lunch for two I enquired for a Friday afternoon, the time I wanted was busy and the time they offered was too late. I asked if there was anything he could do to fit us in earlier, I would be grateful. The gentleman did. Service was amazing, gentleman called Martin escorted us to our table and after sitting asked for a drinks order. I know my guest can be particularly precise when she orders a drink & I was chewing nails, looking at things on the wall, needed the toilet - you know when you are uncomfortable? Martin engaged perfectly! I was shocked but pleased. My guest said she knew he liked coffee because he asked exactly the right things so I got what I wanted. She had arrived from Vienna and needed a good coffee after the drive from Manchester Airport. No starters ordered, Scampi for her, what I thought was a fillet steak but turned out to be a rump. Chips were amazing, but nothing like the onion rings. Onion rings should have their own page on the menu. Battered, crunchy and ready for you to wire in! Scampi was perfect, my steak had an amazing taste, however over cooked. I had to find bits I could eat. That never spoiled my experience, after eating half of the steak - I was back on the chips. Feedback was welcomed, I like that, we didn't have time to complain & spoil a good afternoon. I would definitely return, this time order & spend a little more time concentrating on what I have ordered. Lovely pub food, nice part of Walney Island. Inside beautifully decorated. Gents toilet was impeccable - another good sign. Go, enjoy & get 3 courses, you'll be glad you did, plus the pudding menu looks divine.

Took my mother for a meal and it was 5 stars. 2 mains for less than £30 and they were filling. Nearly had a heart attack at the price of the beer and wine but as more of a restaurant this is understandable. Disabled access and staff are friendly and great at accomodating.

Have been looking for somewhere close to home for a good meal. Been disappointed so many times! Visited the Crown today for the first time in years. Cannot fault the experience from entering the pub to leaving. Service was exceptional. Food was brilliant, especially the Scotch egg starter. Never tasted one as light and flavoursome. First visit to the crown, the atmosphere is fantastic. I think the Cajun beef baguette is overrated didn't realise it would be so spicy. Salt and pepper chips were the best salt and pepper chips I've ever had. However little over priced on drinks.

Visited The Crown after looking for local restaurants that I hadn't tried yet; what an unexpected delight. The food certainly isn't cheap, but it's well worth the premium to enjoy such good cooking. Possibly the best meal I've had in Barrow and I'm going to revisit just to have some more garlic mushrooms... YUMMY!

It was OK , popped in for breakfast , seems to be a meeting place for people with small babies who seem content to let them scream and handle the situation by shouting at the kids and smacking them , breakfast was lovely , part of a meal deal with a drink . the staff could smile once in a while , it wouldn't hurt . small selection of real ales , can't help but feel the place would be come full on a Friday with the roofer , tiler , shop fitter , tree surgeon types being loud and sweary with a line of transit vans parked outside .
