Reviews of Bittles Bar

The Guinness served here is the best pint I have ever had, and I have had well over a thousand pints... Great atmosphere, quirky lay out and an interesting building...topped with speedy friendly service, thanks John !! We will be back soon.
S. F.
A fascinating piece of architecture with a really cute atmospheric bar inside. We tried some craft beer which we enjoyed, just thought it was fairly pricey, but otherwise really nice.
G. P.
We didn't go into the pub as it was full. Great service with the lads brining the creamy pints of of Guinness outside for us. Really good pint, one of the best I have had in terms of creaminess. The pints are slightly bitter for my taste but the best pint in the town as far as I know. Keep it up lads #properpub
K. B.
Very nice small pub with lots of great artwork and old bottles all around. Guinness was great and we particularly liked the table service. The pub is quite small so can get busy quickly (this was our second attempt to go here as there had been a small queue inside previously). Definitely recommend for a great pint of Guinness at a reasonable price!
B. D.
Top class Guinness and wine.. attentive service. Well worth a visit, lovely old pub with some interesting pictures on display.
a. d.
Fantastic watering hole make sure you book a table cause it's still table service and enjoy yourself at this fine establishment
A.
The best pub in Belfast. Amazing pint of Guinness. Brilliant customer service and they do not over crowd the place.
I don't think there is a TV here which was the only down point, but I'm not taking away any stars for that.
You have to try and visit this pub in Belfast!
k. “. g.
Lovely wee traditional pub, great atmosphere. Best pint of Guinness in Belfast.
P. a. M.
Sunday evening 5th June great pints of Guinness @£5.20 Staff pleasant friendly, few tourists about Interesting place
B. H.
Best Guinness I’ve ever had 🍻Don’t miss it when you visit Belfast !
C. E.
Great pub, lots of history and always a warm friendly welcome. Its a pity the Gunness has gone rapidly downhill in recent months. Far too cold which in turn results in a watery stout. Raise the temp and bring back the cream!
Z. K.
Out of all the pubs I visited this was definitely my favourite. Guinness was delicious, people very friendly and the pub is super cute. I will be back there for sure
J. M.
Really small quirky traditional pub, which happened to be highly rated (Guiness guru 8.5) for its Guiness.
Must say it was about the best pint I had while in Belfast 👍
S. H.
Great little bar. Best pint of Guinness in Belfast!!!
N. H.
Amazing traditional bar in Belfast, wonderful drinks, excellent service
K. H.
Best pint of guinness in Belfast. Savage service though the owner's style might be for everyone. Hard to get a seat but when do you cosy up!
G. R.
Super cool corner bar and I mean acute corner bar (math joke). Very cool art throughout the interior, some political, some funny and some historical. Service was great and they have some very unique locally brewed beers, including some as high as 10+%.
M. V.
Very nice place to stop if you want to get a real taste of Belfast best beers and cider. You are warmly welcomed and you can appreciate an accurate advise if you don't know what to drink.
It is a little bar well decorated, felt at ease.
Totally recommend that place!
N. L.
One of the best pints of Guinness in the city of Belfast. This is no wine bar, but if you're looking for a good honest pub then you've found one 👍
J. D.
Unusual small boozer in Belfast. Some interesting photos and paintings. Nice place for a quiet hassle free drink
M. Q.
Really cool small pub from the late 1800. Narrow corner building kind of like times square in New York with a nice classic pub interior. Lots of local craft beers and wide selection of irish whiskeys and gins.
V. M.
Amazing pint of Guinness. Feel really safe still have covid screens up. Feels like mini booths. Love it
C. Ó. M.
Best stout in Belfast and the whiskey range is something else. Enjoy. Don't annoy John.
D.
Cosy, friendly pub with great decor and whiskey selection.
L. W.
It's not one of the biggest bars in Belfast but we had a lovely few 🍺 there. One of our friends had her first Gunniess there. 🤣
K. T.
Guinness was the best and the service was excellent.will definitely be back.
I. S.
Great little bar, had an amazing selection of whiskey which unfortunately I didn't have time to sample.

Went here because someone told me it's the best pint of Guinness in Belfast . But I'll leave that up to you to decide its good
K. B.
Cute little pub, worth dropping by. No food but a huge selection of whiskey and plenty of pints on tap. Great atmosphere and friendly service!
L. R.
The host Jim was wonderful and very approachable, just like his dog Devon.
A. C.
Only small, but a "proper" pub serving the best Guinness in Belfast. Friendly service.
M. B.
Fantastic quirky shaped tiny bar with plenty of atmosphere. Great selection of whisky and beers.
d. t.
Still our favourite pub in Belfast unspoilt, good choice of beer and a lovely interior
P. B.
Comedic political caricatures displayed throughout the bar.Great whiskey selection. Cosy intimate atmosphere. Old barman insulted me on my first visit, hence why I will be back. Nice to see a pub in Belfast with some character and not succumbing to “modern” standards.
G. W.
Lovely Litle but friendly bar just off main drag. Excellent pint of lager and Guinness. Quirky worth 6 look
T. M.
Very rare to give five stars for anything but this place deserves it . Fantastic decor, great paintings around the walls . The Guinness is the very best you will get in the city and staff are friendly. Cant wait to get down again.
J. G.
Excellent whiskey list, also beer was great. For us were most interesting semi-on bulbs.
K. K.
Got there and the taps were being serviced so I waited for 10 minutes for a pint of Guinness. Well worth it. Best pint of Guinness I've had and the bar staff were super friendly 👍
R. M.
Delightful. Small bar with a large amount of history running throughout the whole pub.
C. F. d. S.
Small, but cosy. On the city centre, open till late, cold beer...what else could I ask for?
G. H.
Best pint of Guinness in Belfast and an incredibly impressive whiskey selection
D. C.
Cool little bar bit you have to be patient to get a seat. There was a bit of a smell from the toilet though.

Is a place full of history, and the people that made the history of Belfast, northern Ireland they're on the walls of this historic pub
M. B.
Exceptional staff and the Guinness was perfect. Loved the paintings and the whisky displays too! Don't walk past this place!
P.
Really nice bar, decent selection of beers. The barman is a bizarre character though, was pretty rude. Included picture says it all really.
L. M.
Lovely bar with a great atmosphere

D. F.
This is definitely a must visit bar in Belfast. Some great pictures/paintings of irish icons and funny signs.
C. T.
Great bar with a huge whisky selection, hard to identify which to order by just looking at the shelves without a list or help from the staff, however.
P. S.
Been before always pleasant. Despite the request for covid vac. documentation and ID, no probs, willing to comply. Phil Slane
I. K.
Service is how it should be... Local bar which has local charm.. Great whiskey range and craft draft on tap.. the bogs have historical nuances .. Great bar..
C. B.
Great bar. Staff were wonderfully friendly (John!) and helpful. Fantastic bar in the heart of Belfast with an amazing atmosphere and wonderful selection of beverages. Despite its small size, this unique bar will not disappoint. Can not recomend enough.
R. S.
Cosy pub, beautiful decor (including many original paintings) with a great selection of local beer.
m. y.
Small pub with friendly atmosphere. Helpful and pleasant staff. I will definitely visit again.
E. K.
Good variety on tap. The whole pub smells of piss though. Would be a great p7b if theu sorted that
P. D.
Good Guinness and nice atmosphere. Staff are efficient and friendly.
p. I. m.
Great old traditional pub with a great vibe.
Really good selection of whiskey.
M. M.
This Bar is one of the best family owned and run bars in Belfast, cant wait for it to open again soon to welcome all their lovely regular customers and our visitors across the world. Meantime, stay safe and see you all in John Bittles Bar. Marty
M. “. B. G.
Great bar for a beer, one of my favourites in Belfast.
Serving some good ales and nice local ale and cider too.
Good pub for a chat and not to be distracted by food or television and sports.
Plenty of character as a pub and the clientele.
J. M.
Fantastic spot. Amazing whiskey selection. Friendly staff. Worth a visit if in town.
a. c.
Awesome little pub well worth a visit. Excellent choice of beers, bottled ciders and a huge range of whiskey. Very awkward seating in the toilet though. The warm welcome and friendly atmosphere more than makes up for it though.
P. A. P.
Old school pub. Interesting decoration and music selection. Very friendly staff.
J. S.
Cool bar, gets a bit hot inside though
M. n. a. t.
A must visit bar in Belfast. The atmosphere is genuinely friendly. The decor needs to be seen to believed and the rang of drinks on offer is wide and varied and not what you would find in a chain of establishments.
E. C.
Great atmosphere, lovely old pub with great character
F. V.
Authentic Bar, awesome atmosphere good service.
P. R.
Awesome, lets you in, even when wearing shorts in winter.
Outstanding little local pub.
Serves all forms of alcohol and a possible hint of sarcasm
Must be part of any pub run in Belfast or it doesn't count as a Belfast pub run.
Best pint of Guinness for the connoisseurs by a mile
D. T.
Outstanding bar! While on vacation in Belfast this was my go-to bar. The staff are friendly and it’s a great place to meet and chat with the locals. Drinks are served well and reasonably priced.
A. T.
A nice bar with a fantastic selection of whiskeys and decent range of beers. Unfortunately the place smelt like a toilet. Small and can be difficult to get space on busier nights. Worth a visit on a night out.
N. M.
Proper boozer with real character and decent selection of craft ales whiskeys and a great atmosphere.
S. D.
Great wee pub, good selection of whiskey and gins. Staff to their best to get you a table. It can be busy, but usually a quick turnaround on tables so can usually get a seat eventually.
A. W.
Quirky very small bar. Worth a visit if you're in the area. Small range of local ales. NO TASTERS! Grumpy gits! Beer prices good. Whiskey prices "ambitious"
G. H.
I am a regular visitor and have a biased opinion regarding the owner and the staff. I have enjoyed many memorable nights at this location.
M. A.
Such an outstanding venue with a large variety of spontaneous whiskeys. Ciaran was so polite and helpful also. I will most certainly be back🤘
O. M.
Awesome place with an amazing atmosphere. We enjoyed wonderful conversations. John made this experience memorable. Will return to see Mr. Bittles in the future to enjoy delicious gin and whiskey. Thank you Bittles Bar!
b. o. l.
Nice pint, small and quaint
F. G.
What traditional bars are all about
E. M.
Great wee bar with an emphasis on wee. Don't plan on going with a whole crowd, you'll not all fit in. But they have asked good choice of beers, the crowd are usually friendly and more likely than not some local will start a conversation with you if you walk in on your own.
A. B. I. B.
Proper bar. A Belfast institution. Go for one & comeback for a lifetime.
J. R.
Spotless, great memorabilia, a tad expensive.
P. G.
Best pint of Guinness I've ever had was at Bittles Bar and the consistency of that quality is impressive!
J. J. A.
Fierce good pint of Guinness. Plenty of shhhtick. The barman is good craic.
L. O.
Great staff. Service with a smile and a bit if craic in the centre of Belfast. Great atmosphere - even outside amid Covid 19.
C. D.
With great paintings of famous Northern Irish people on the walls, Bittles has a cosy, fun feel to it and has a good beer selection. Wine selection is poor though and more often than not there is no music playing - sometimes football is on the TV, so the atmosphere isn't the best.
J. S.
Teeny pub near Victoria Square. I always go here when I'm up in Belfast. Lovely atmosphere and interesting artwork. Nice staff too!
D. S.
Good atmosphere and a cracking pint make this an entertainibg pub

Nice cozy pub. Pints are a bit more expensive than most.
The reason for 3 stars is because of the toilets. They are absolutely dreadful and disgusting.
M. P.
Quirky pub at the end of shopping area. Interesting beers and ciders, strange shape and celebrity paintings mean there's plenty of visual interest.

I love this bar - largely due to the space and marvelling at how a bar can operate in this corner location, but also because the people who frequent this bar are great!
