This was the best pub we visited in Belfast. Great music, fantastic atmosphere with amazing decor. The staff were brilliant and we had an fantastic night here.
You must visit this bar if your in Belfast, I can not recommend this bar enough.
A. S.
Favourite pub in Belfast (?). That perfect mix of a great experience for tourists and still draws the locals. Amazing decor and even serves Beamish!
D. H.
Popped in for a couple of beers - excellent atmosphere and staff, loved visiting. So much stuff on the walls to keep you entertained and chatting. Shame it closes at 10:30 on a Saturday night (no idea if this was because COVID or not)! Would highly recommend
J. R.
Lovely experience of an Irish pub. Rammed with memorabilia but spotless non the less. You can't stop looking at the walls and ceilings.
D. J.
Best Guinness in Belfast! We also enjoyed a spot of dodging the showers as the canopy came out and then retracted. The waiting staff were all excellent as were the security staff. They went above and beyond to provide first class service. Alan recommended an adjacent whisky store as I wanted to buy the wife a special gift.
D. C.
Such a great bar. Delicious Guinness, very friendly service and brilliant atmosphere. What more could you want?
S. R.
A proper pub out of a long vanished time. Helpful and welcoming people, cracking pint of Beamish and the shiniest copper tabletops in the northern hemisphere. Recommended for a quick pitstop or a prolonged session soaking up the charming atmosphere.
D. H.
Traditional music was on when we were in. Which added to the great atmosphere, great pub, very quirky and definitely worth a visit!
B.
The place to be! Great St. Patrick’s day location. Will return on a quieter day too!!
Lots of parking around. Car parks and on street parking.
J. T.
It was a nice surprise to end in this lovely place. On Saturday night there was life music and joy atmosphere
S. B.
What a fabulous pub, cheapest guiness. Most amazing staff and customers, we had a ball. Ended up being shown some of the best pubs (ones we would of missed) by a customer.
The decoration in and out is second to none. Again I cannot praise the staff and the whole feeling enough. Cannot wait to get back there.
J. B.
Incredibly atmospheric spot day or night; loads of tables and a great pint of Guinness. No food but good selection of crisps! Minus one star for wine served in mini bottles rather than having a decent selection of bottles but absolutely loved this place and would return. We were lucky to be sat whilst a session band played on the Sunday afternoon.
C. L. U.
Friendly staff, great drinks, a must whilst visiting Belfast.
A. K.
A must for a creamy guinness, and great ambiance.
R. S.
A must visit place if you’re visiting Belfast. Whether you drink in the bar or out in the famous alley you won’t be disappointed. Inside you’ll see the the greatest collection Guinness memorabilia or hear some local live music. Outside you’ll get to experience the famous commercial court with a guaranteed buzz and maybe the 1 or 2 hen do’s passing though 😂
D. L.
A magnificent pub, brilliant atmosphere and truly wonderful pint of Guinness.
B. R.
Great spot full of memories of old bars , streets , drinks plus much more , staff friendly, outside area is class .
P. A.
Lovely pub, like stepping back in time. We visited on St Paddys day so obviously could not find a seat as it was booming, would love to return at a quieter time to get a good feel of the place. Worth a visit🤗
m. R.
I really liked the bar. especially in the passage of umbrellas
R. S.
Fantastic spot for a great night out on the town, ideal for live music and amazing crack, plenty of drink and people and a relaxed atmosphere, If that's your thing, I was there in a group and had a wonder Saturday night folks. Brilliant.
N. T.
Nice atmosphere at Commercial Street and inside this nice pub. Nice spot in Belfast!!!
J. D.
Brilliant atmosphere. Staff were excellent even though they were constantly serving customers. Lovely place to visit. Will definitely be going back on my next visit to Belfast.
M. B.
A wonderful atmosphere. Great live music, the musician had us all dancing and joining in. Definitely a place to bring visitors to Belfast!
F. S.
Decent spot for a quality stout. Have a Beamish, it's the best. There's a lovely feel to the place with all the paraphernalia plastered all over the walls. It's very busy pretty much always so get here early to nab a seat. And remember, Beamish is best.
L. F.
My limited descriptive powers makes describing this place impossible. Stunning interior every inch including the ceiling covered in Irish drink paraphernalia.. Go and see fir yersel. Oh aye its sells bevvy.
B. B.
Beautiful place, it is street with umbrellas so while taking picture pop in grab pint.
D. B.
Great pub with good atmosphere. Stopped by for a lunchtime pint of Guinness and wasn't disappointed. Lots of interesting things to look at on the walls.
T. D. R.
Place for a good point, with indoor and outdoor seating (outside benches only) usually have a live singer outside! Lots of ambiance, and a fun crowd.
M. P.
Loved this place. Live local music, fab decor and bar service was quick. Well worth a visit
A. K.
Lovely place with several pubs nearby and the city is full of beautiful art that has an impactful story behind each piece. The people in this city is fantastic!
B. W.
Fun place with lots of visual stimulation. Not crowded for time of day and day of week. Great location with outside area and near other pubs.
T. L.
Perfect place for pint of Guinness 🍻 Cheers
D.
Great atmosphere, warm and friendly environment and prices seemed reasonable for such a central popular pub.
C. S.
A great place for locals and tourists, it does get busy, usual wait time would be a couple of minutes on a Friday. Beamish is well worth the wait
T. S.
Loved this place. Inside covered with drink promotional items. Great choice of beers and other drinks. Staff were great and toilets clean. Visited several times on our trip and a great experience every time.
Great outside as well especially on a warm evening we had on the Friday we were there. All in all highly recommend.
M. C.
Lovely pub with a great atmosphere
G. C.
Such a great pub. Good selection of beers and spirits, friendly staff
K. W.
Lovely vibes here, such an interesting bar if you're into vintage signage. Great customer service.
Table service available, on lovely outdoor seating on vibrant street.
R. V.
This place was definitely special. There’s benches outside along the alleyway. And there’s more seating available around the back which makes it a lot more spacious than it seems when you enter the bar. Has a character of its own and is definitely worth the hype. Would highly recommend. One of the best bars in Belfast.
M. W.
Love the atmosphere in this pub and the bar staff were very chatty and had smiles on their faces
I've been here several times and have always noticed how clean it is
N. A.
Only in Belfast can you meet someone who will tell you stories to make your day. My dad and I had an absolutely wonderful time here tonight, so much history in the bar itself and the stories that the patrons tell. Not to mention, they have a wonderful whiskey selection!
S. J.
Of all the Guinness sampled, this was not the best. Friendly staff but not the widest selection of drinks. Would recommend visiting for 1 drink, sitting outside and viewing the umbrellas but wouldn't recommend for a night.
A. B.
Nearly missed this place as we were looking at the room across the road! Amazing, relaxed atmosphere, reasonably priced and very friend.
All the more happier when found out sitting in the Snow Patrol booth ☺️
S. O.
Beautiful place, beautiful location, great door staff and bar staff. Pity about the sour faced waitress who seemed to think my disabled wife and I were and inconvenience . Even the drinks we ordered seemed to be a problem. Two 60 year olds. One night a week. Same two drinks. One round and gone. Couldn't be simpler. Always loved this place. UNTIL TONIGHT! Does she actually realise we are profit and she is overheads????
L. D.
Terrific pub furnished with mainly Guinness memorabilia. Situated in the middle of the Cathedral Quarter, you can either enjoy your pint at the various tables or stand outside amongst all of the cool murals.
Well worth a visit!
H. B.
Lovely pub with a great friendly atmosphere and live music!
J. S.
Great wee bar. Good atmosphere, well worth a visit.
B.
Loved this pub. The interior is really interesting and it had a cosy atmosphere. The staff were friendly too. Would definitely visit again.
R. O.

A. M.
First time in Duke of York.Quirky.Bright friendly.Very pleasant. Staff.Good value for city. IMPORTANT. Left my wallet containing phone, cash and credit cards. On returning to bar , handed to me by Caitlin bar staff. Many thanks.Recommend and will return.
S.
A feast for the eyes.
Whether you are inside or out this place is fantastic. It's very popular and crowded but not impossible to get a drink.
Live music is great and it's a great atmosphere.
B. K.
Big pub with loads of space and lots more signs dating back many years! Fun vibe, lots of drinks options and beers on tap. Staff are good and efficient. Friendly place for locals and tourists alike!
P. F. B.
Wow amazing pub , you could spend hours just looking at the decor! Best Guinness I've ever tasted!
A. S.
Great place to hand out or just visit for a pint. We went in for a drink on our holiday and weren't disappointed. Very nice interiors and some great whiskey collections ( some are not for sale)
The street leaving upto this pub is very nice. Check out the hanging umbrellas ( not sure if this is a seasonal thing)
R. S.
Incredible atmosphere throughout the place. Friendly staff and decent pints of Guinness
M. J.
Definitely an interesting experience. Packed bar on a Friday. Plenty of outdoor area to drink, although they mandate you have a plastic glass.
M. V.
Classic Irish pub with a funky interior. The bartender was very friendly and gave us some good dinner recommendations.
D. W.
Really nice atmosphere. A lot of cool memorabilias, would recommend as a nice place to see in Belfast.
E. G.
What is the biggest complaint at a bar? The service and availability of bartenders. Not here. The staff is always ready to help the over crowded space. The lovely outdoor space for customers only was really great to enjoy. A wall of murals encompasses the people of Ireland. Some taboo and some historical imagery surrounds you while you drink.
G. R.
Terrific pub in a neatly packed street without outdoor area. Really enjoyed
S. B.
Absolutely great pub, interior is also great with old trays, mirrors and beer mats displayed everywhere.
Staff were friendly also.
C. G.
Great place for a drink with friends. Staff make sure people adhere to the rules and ask everyone on the way in to put on their mask. Felt safe whilst having a great time. Staff very friendly.
L. E.
Wow, what a pub! Our friend took us here for a beer as a "must see", fantastic spot for a beer or two.
It's a feast for the eyes all around, busy lively atmosphere and friendly staff. Had a good chat with some other visitors to the bar adding to the friendly feel.
U. A. B. M.
Very nice Belfast pub. Got very nice interiors and photo scenic view outside the pub. Well worth visit this pub to try Guinness and Irish whisky.
N. S. G.
Great pub, really nice atmosphere but sadly no live music this time. This was the only let down.
D. H.
The Duke of York is a great bar. It's location and vibrant, upbeat atmosphere means it is as popular as always. The crowd is very mixed, which adds to the craic for me. It is a bar that tourists always seemed to be advised to go to as soon as they arrive. While the atmosphere is always bouncing, don't be expecting to get a seat on a Saturday night and be prepared to wade your way through a throng to get to the bar, the toilet or to get in or out! If you are appropriately dressed for our weather, it was -2 last night, then spilling out onto the beautifully decorated, pedestrianised area out front with your drink, won't be a bother!
M. W.
Really enjoyed the Duke of York, great pint of Guinness, fast friendly efficient service, lots of atmosphere and character.
P. O.
Great bar Great service ( not used to city prices but its the best bar we were in over the 3 days )
o.
Wonderful place with live music in a magic street. A pity that the big mural is closed and not visible
E. D.
Just want to say that your bouncer Alan is a top man. He made our experience such a enjoyable one with his good humour & all round caring nature. When we asked for directions back to our hotel etc. He was very obliging. Bouncers like him are few & far between.
G.
Great friendly bar in the heart of the Cathedral Quarter...
***Undated 9.12.21***
This is a nice decor pub and the Landlord made us really welcome and went out of his way for us... Thanks again Paul
Also this place is a MUST for Line Of Duty fans!!
J. J.
Lovely old style.pub. Good pints. No music just conversation of patrons. Bar staff friendly and efficient. Recommend the bar to anyone looking for a bit of craic and enjoys the old style bar
R. A.
Busy bar but serve quick enough. Lots of outdoor space and interesting wall art outside. Live music playing so a great place to drink when it's warm out
G. S.

This pub was less than 5 minutes from our hotel. Nice place not as busy as I thought it would be but maybe that’s cos we were there about 8 on a Wednesday night. The customers had good things to say about it
H. P. (.
Good Ambience. Vivid Colours pleasant for the eyes.
L. C.
Beautiful Belfast pub with bags of history. They serve what I'm told is the best pint of Guinness in Belfast (in my limited experience i would agree). The whole area around the place is full of street art and decorations. A must visit on any trip to the city.
H. S. W.
An all round perfect Irish pub. We even had an Irish band play. Epic!
D. J.
Great pub very popular with unique decor. Sadly limited opening hours when visited due to covid restrictions
M. P.
Absolutely fantastic place, the atmosphere, the decor collected over many decades and displayed on wooden columns and the ceiling, really good live music, definitely recommend a visit, but be prepared to get your drinks and go wait outside while waiting for a seat, it really is that popular. Cannot wait for my next visit.
J. B.

Well, i used to love it but last time i went they were closing at 8pm which is ok but they didn't want to serve us at 7:20 and stopped serving at 7:30.
W. S.
Busy but lovely bar. Great selection of drinks.
M. M. K.
Popped in for a wee drop of Irish Whiskey (Paddy 7yo Centenary potstill it was ). If you like Whisk/e/y, visit and immerse yourself in over a century worth of Whisk/e/y memorabilia.
R. G. M.
Good pub to enjoy a pint. Very weel decorated with typical stuff!
J. W.
Great atmosphere and I absolutely live the decor. Often have live musicm an absolute must if youre in belfast
J.
Nice bar with lots of pictures & stuff on the walls to get a conversation rolling. Friendly service & a nice pint of Guinness to be had. Very busy little place and lovely in the summer time especially, with plenty of people sitting outside , which makes for a lovely atmosphere. Not easy to get a seat though, due to being do popular, which isn't a bad thing necessarily.....
A. V.
Love it, best pub in Belfast
A. S.
Absolutely amazing bar!! I'd actually forgot how much I loved it, as this was the first time I'd been back since the lockdown lifted
P. H.
Really good bar. The staff here are very friendly and they have a decent selection of beers and whiskeys which is always good! The place can get crowded but they have a decent outside area for when the weather is good so there is more than enough room. Central to other bars so very handy if you are looking for just a swift one before meeting elsewhere.
C. P.
Fascinating venue with so many old posters. The Guinness was good too!
D. R.
Visited on a quiet evening - friendly pub - a must see (on the tourist trail) - lots of character.

H. K.
Great bar, great atmosphere.

Most amazing bar in Belfast another world memorabilia
S. F.
Sorry guys lovely bar but just too crowded and not enough seats for us. Guess you have to get there early! That said Belfast is now a lovely friendly cosmopolitan city I am hugely proud of. A great welcome and very safe for walking in!
T.
Service was good and wide choice of drinks
D. G.
Great friendly and peacful vibes! And good old Gerry did some barkeeping here in his youth! In the evening there is good live music and the Decoration ist excelent! One of the nicest Pubs i have been too. Not too many Tourist as Well and so the local comes Here for His regular pint.
A. M.
Absolutely fantastic place to drink. We were fortunate to have good weather and sat outside along with many dogs and their owners. I have never tasted a Guinness as nice as they pour it here. Brilliant.
E. N. (.
Great place to chill with friends. Ambient was nice and loads of pub around the area. Highly recommended for people who wanted to have a drink and chitchat with someone or meet people that you see the first time. This is a late review by the way.
J. W.
Very lively Belfast pub. Great decor.
J. D.
Lovely pub. Good atmosphere. Seats outside
N. C.
Great bar with good cosy traditional pub atmosphere in the centre of Belfast. Great selection of Ales and Beers.
Z. G.
When I went here it was 11pm, it was super crowded in the pub and in the alley, and I loved it.
G. D.
Awesome pub. Has become an icon of all of our business trips. If we go to Belfast, we must pay tribute and homage to the wonderful Duke of York. Simple and direct... You get what you expect and nothing more. I just left and can't wait until the next time I return.
B. K.
Great nite out in a great venue
V. H.
Great little pub, decent beer selection. Went for drinks and the atmosphere was very cool. The bar itself has a crazy amount of really cool vintage alcohol decor. Worth checking out. There’s an alley way across the street you absolutely have to check out.
M. B.
Nice place. Very inclusive.
N. M.
Unbelievable collection of brewerania, street signs and general vintage advertising. Needs to be seen to be believed. All round well-run, good staff, nice atmosphere and decent drinks. Didn't think it was overpriced at all. Highly recommended!
A. T.
Traditional bar good beer
R. A.
One of the best if not the best bar in Belfast. Bar staff friendly and welcoming. From 6 pm on a Saturday live music which adds to the outside feel. If the only place you visit in Belfast is the Duke you will have captured the essence of Belfast.
w. t. w.
Only in Belfast could you hang an article up about how the place has survived being bombed. Could be cheaper but very elite pub atmosphere.
C. C. C.
Amazing place! Where do we start? Superb selection of whiskys to say the least. The staff and management are all friendly and great to chat to.
The building is another story as it's very historical and if only the walls could talk!
The decor is a Guinness fans dream with tons of past advertising signs posters and more.
Plenty of live music and generally a must visit for all.
D. S.
Just as wonderful as you'd expect.
c. m.
Absolutely fantastic place to sit and enjoy a drink. Staff etc very friendly and attentive.
R. O.
We had pre drinks here on a Friday night to commence the beginnings of our wedding in Belfast. With over 40 Australians visiting, I think this place was perfect to introduce the Aussies what Belfast has to offer. Great atmosphere. Great staff. And very friendly patrons.
D. K.
Always a great spot. I have taken several tourists here when showing them around due to the traditional feel. Every wall has tons of memorabilia which creates talking points and the cobbled streets outside just add to the appeal.
J. C.
Deceptively small bar decorated with all sorts of retro ephemera. Contributes to the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Good live music on a Saturday so worth finding a seat early. Friendly mixed crowd and fairly free from stags.
C. B.
Great atmosphere. We were on that street for 2 nights in a row. There is music outside and it's a bit mental but it's great. Well worth going if you are looking to sample the Belfast night life
M. G.
In the Catholic quarter lively pubs
D. B.
Great little bar full of retro advertising and mirrors.
Visited for a quick pint in a brief tour of the Cathedral Quarter / Commercial Court area on our last day of our visit to Belfast. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the beer.
The style of the bar is pretty quirky - long booths, walls covered in retro advertising, and mirrors.
Decent selection of drinks, comfy seats and friendly staff. A good shout for a few pints if you're in the area - next time I'm in Belfast I'll definitely make a point of spending a bit longer here!
J. S.
Friendly chatty staff willing to help you navigate the city as they are to pour perfect drinks. Very recommended
T. L.
Awesome historical bar with a great drink selection and fantastic history. A pint at the Duke is required for any tourist so there may be a crowd. Head outside into the alley decorated with banners of famous locals if you can't find a spot inside. Bands also frequent the bar which makes for a great evening. Very nice ambiance in Victorian style.
M. C.
A great bar in a great area, live music as well. There is a fantastic atmosphere in this area of Belfast and this is felt in Duke of York. I had friends visiting from England and they loved it as well. The Guinness was good and the craic was better.
R. D.
One of my favourite bars in Belfast. Definitely worth a visit
A. P.
This place never fail to amaze me. I usually leave long, detailed reviews but honestly, just stop reading the reviews and go visit.
C. S.
If you are just visiting this is definitely somewhere you should visit. This pub is kind of like a belfast institution. Decor is amazing with one half of downstairs covered with whiskey mirrors. Great atmosphere and decent selection of beers and wine. It can get incredibly crowded and loud at the weekend but sure, its a pub
J. L.
Simply outstanding. Very crowded, but not overwhelming, and service was consistently good no matter how many people were milling about. Live music, fun kitsch everywhere (including the ceilings), great location near other popular pubs and outdoor artwork... very memorable all around!
But let's get something straight: more than anything else, they've got magic in their Guinness. Duke of York poured the best pints we had during our entire trip—far better than even the Storehouse! Even if you don't normally *like* Guinness (we're craft beer snobs), you MUST have it here.
t.
We love to visit this bar every time we visit Belfast its so welcoming and always a warm welcome
S. R.
Great pub buried away in the side streets. Has a nice atmosphere and warm on a cold evening. Service is good at the bar and the prices are reasonable as well. Recommended to anyone visiting Belfast. It's a friendly pub than the Crown!
S. R.
Loved this place. Very popular and busy with some great characters and characteristics. The staff were great and even managed to keep track of who arrived when. A rare skill in a pub these days. Worth taking a look at the Yellow Umbrella Passage.
M. S.
Nice cold beer and lovely inside.
The door lady was an absolute credit dealing with us finding us a table etc
M. S.
I love this pub, the staff are not friendly at all so you just have to look past that and it's a great pub. I'm English and my wife is from Cork so maybe that affects it but it's really good to go in and spend a few hours. I always go here when I'm in Belfast and always will.
J. B.
This is a great historical Belfast bar with great Belfast crag and music. You will find the staff are typical of the local friendly nature. Wherever you are from
, you will feel amongst friends here. Highly recommended.
G. G.
Visit at night and it can be packed to the gills. Head down during the day and you're guaranteed a good spot for a pint, especially if you want some peace and quiet in the back bar.
If you like taking photos, pretty much any corner has something Instagram worthy.
G. M.
Great pub. Catered more to the tourist market but there’s not many other places in Belfast you’d want to find yourself late on a Friday afternoon when the sun is out.
D. N.
Lots of drinks to choose from, nice and spacious in the back room, and great staff. Quite expensive and it's a flight of stairs to the lady toilets, though the stairs are incredibly decorative and worth a trip to the building even if you don't stay in the bar.
L. S.
Lovley atmosphere 👍
J. P.
Great place for a drink after shopping
C. M.
A touristy spot in the summer but still a great bar and a Belfast classic. Was popular long before the Cathedral quarter became a thing. Great for bringing visitors too.
C. B.
Great atmosphere, worth a visit.
D. T.
What a wonderful night ! If you're in Belfast you should definitely visit. Brilliant music and that was a Monday night !!! Staff were very friendly and helpful. We'll be back. . . . . . .
A. H.
Cracking wee pub. Very friendly. Great atmosphere.
K. S.
This pub is a great stop off when in the cathedral quarter. It has a great beer selection and is great for a catch up or the start of a night out. Would love to see it during the summer as the beer garden looks amazing
R. M.
Great traditional pub. Great atmosphere, but pints on the expensive side at a fiver a pop.
C. H.
Fun pub with lots of vintage decor.

R. T.
Beautifully authentic Belfast bar within the historic Cathedral Quarter. A real draw for tourists, this place can become very busy. It serves the usual beers that feature in other bars but it's done in a nicer setting.
M. H.
Great spot for a drink before we went for a meal. Always busy but no problem getting a drink from helpful staff. Music playing outside. Hard to beat when weather is good
B. G.
Atmosphere was brilliant..Small pub but lots of standing room. I know what a sardine feels like! Try this pub if you get a chance. I visited on a Saturday night.
M. H.
Nice friendly pub with plenty of history
D. D.
Nice atmosphere, table service good, bit pricey but that's a big city for you.
A. E.
It's a typical pub, and there is nothing special about it except for location, location, location. Located in the heart of the Cathedral Quarter, it's in an iconic alley, always crowded with an alive vibe of nightlife. The environment is classic and beautiful.
F. M.
Loved this place!! Great staff and displays on walls
S. N.
The right place for music and beer in Belfast.
K. H.
The first pub grub of our trip. Two flight-weary tourists stumbled in here, and we were treated with some top-notch hospitality, particularly by the bar manager David: he hustled the whole time to keep the place running. His personality got us in the door, and the fish-and-chips and potato-and-leek-soup with brown bread were fantastic. Some Smithwick's and Guinness were nice complements.
G. H.
It's always packed out. Thursday they usually have a traditional Irish music night, that's good fun.
Great atmosphere and pretty much in the heart of the Cathedral Quarter, the epicentre of a good night out in Belfast.
M. M. P.
Really good atmosphere in Belfast. Muy recomendable
C. H.
Friendly staff from the fierce looking bouncer to the lovely bar staff, a must if you are in Belfast and when we were visiting a great guy was playing guitar & singing in the back room of the pub. Glorious decor of old brewery/distillery mirrors and a tasty glass of what you fancy
C. B.
Great Irish pub. .
L. M.
Staff good
Nice atmosphere
M. I.
Lots and lots of Guinness plaques and ads line the walls and ceiling. Cozy books and crannies carved into the walls. The drinks were good the atmosphere was good. The Guinness was good. A great start to a great trip
M. B.
Great atmosphere, and great service 👍🏻
F. C.
Fantastic cozy pub with live music and decent service.
L. R.
The best real ales pub in Norwich!
c. h.
Great pub with a great atmosphere
T. C.
This will always be my favourite bar in Belfast, a wonderfully authentic bar full of collectors memorabilia from the licensed trade. The staff are always lovely and accommodating and it always has a wonderfully eclectic mix of people to chat to :)
J. B.
Great experience. Nice ambience. Lots of photos and momentos. The staff are very attentive.
B. W.
Worth a visit. Pork burger was 4 out of 5 and the Guiness is cold and delicious. Service is very efficient and friendly enough. It's the oldest bar in Belfast - worth seeing.
T. P.
Duke of York is one of the places you have to be in when visiting Belfast. Great atmosphere, always in the mood bartenders, good prices, free tastings when you're not sure what to drink and good crowd hanging in makes this one of the best pubs in Belfast without any exaggeration!
D. K.
Great service , it was great to hear live music on a Saturday afternoon , nice pints
M. R.
It has changed and it hasn't changed. Still great craic. Best place to finish a Donzo tour.
J. F. Q.
Good quirky spot
D. B.
Spent a lovely Saturday evening here
С. О. (.
Was there on Sunday afternoon, only one part of the bar was opened. Very quiet place, great to have a chat over a crisp pint, although I can see it being quite busy on Saturday. Would recommend as a traditional establishment with deep historical roots.
P. M.
This bar is a must see of things to do in Belfast.
At the heart of the catherdal quarter with great drinks and a vibrant music seen to suit all tastes.
Can cut it with any of the icon bars around the world with a interior that has your eyes skipping from one wall to the other.
Truly an experience and a place to meet people from all over the world enjoying the craic on a night out in Belfast.
G. M.
Very busy on a Saturday night but personally I wouldn't have it any other way. Weaving and winding into the far end of the bar to find a few little stools to perch on and live acoustic traditional irish music and friendly welcoming atmosphere.
T.
I was pleasantly surprised at how well they dealt with my party's 8 build your own pizza orders. If I were to describe them in on world I would describe them as 'unflappable'.
J. B.
Always a must when we are in Belfast, great bar and really friendly.
M. B.
Great traditional style bar. Based on a lovely cobble Street with good outdoor drinking areas. Gets busy in the evenings and packed in good weather but well worth a visit.
D. D. D.
Amazing mood, and beautiful traditional Irish pub. A must see if you are in Belfast. Live music and a crazy whisky selection.
r. g.
Fantastic classic style boozer.
Worth the trip alone from anywhere.
Big choice of whisky
Could spend hours looking at the vintage pub decorations.
Don't miss
J. M.
Nice bar, but the lady serving us was to busy talking to another customer and never made eye contact so rude,my pint was good but I had to dry the glass as she over filled it and just didn't care...been in here lots and staff can be so hit and miss, message to owner try a bit of retraining
S. D.
Super packed, but fun atmosphere if you are into that sort of thing. People pour out from the bar onto the streets. Takes forever to get a drink on Friday night! Took over 20 minutes for a few people in our party.
S. M.
Always take my visiting English mates here. Love the vibe, good Guinness, cute spot when it's quiet but also nice fun when it's busy. Big up the trad on Sundays.
G. L.
Hailed as Church of Irish whiskey. And indeed you can find unique tipples here. Beer selection ok, nothing to brag about. Atmosphere good, staff welcoming. Outside area comfy. If you're tourist- must go place. And ouch almost forgot , Jeff Arnett has been here.
K. B.
Very busy pub, but it was Pride. Took us a while to get served, but the barman who served us recommended a drink, so didn't feel rushed. Although very good atmosphere!
C. F.
Classic old Belfast boozer, very tourist friendly, worth a visit.
T. D.
Great Atmosphere Great Pint and Great Craic
E. J. C.
Nice place, and part of what you really must see if you come to Belfast. Always a good crowd. Sadly bar prices let it down but this is probably due to it being a tourist destination.
J. F.
Ever want to drink in a 300 year old bar? Like tons of old stuff on the walls? Enjoy clean and tidy establishments? Even If you said no to all the above go here. It's that good.
R. A.
Amazing pub.. no words
D. M.
Fantastic bar. Best bar in Belfast. Only bar in the north that i can find a pint of Beamish.
C. N.
One of the best pints in Belfast. Nice atmosphere, character but modern an vibrant, you can be indoors or outdoors!
L. H.
A favourite for the workers of Belfast, this place is packed out on a Friday and Saturday evening. Great traditional vibes and the cobbled alley on which it is situated is perfect for a summer evening full of craic and Guinness.
A. W.

This was a fun pub to hang at. They had people playing music but I couldn't tell if they were just people playing for fun or not, which we really enjoyed. Great experience overall.
J. T.
Love this pub great place staff so pleasant
A. B.
Beautiful murals. To access it you would have to go through the Duke of York. I went to explore it after lunch there, and had the whole courtyard to myself. So many stories painted into those murals. Loved it.
R. M.
Great pub

Very nice but extremely busy every time I've been there! So expect not to find anywhere to sit and a very loud surrounding.

P. M.
Great atmosphere. Good night oit
M. G. (.
The Duke of York is no longer a bar it is a Belfast Institution; I cannot count the number of times I have been in this amazing space but every time I am I fall more in love with it. Everywhere you look there is something new to discover, and if you are not there for the Wall’s cladded in old Belfast memorabilia then most nights of the week you will be treated to live bands and traditional Music. If you are only in Belfast for a few days, then make this one of your Stops.
D. H.
Love this place, attracts a nice mix of a crowd. Not too pretentious, good service and a fantastic range of drinks. I suppose it's only downfall is that it can be too popular!
K. P.
Great atmosphere, fantastic music, terrific wall art and prompt, friendly service. The place appears crowded, but the staff cope really well, so don't be deterred.
R. P.
A must see Traditional Pub in Belfast, memorabilia everywhere.

Popular bar, back in the day this was the only bar round there you would drink in , looks the part inside , hadn't really changed in all the years I've drank in it, now it has sprawled into the alley it is on .. lots of tourists, friendly locals, service could be a little better
