First time eating at the crane. It was my sons 19th birthday and after much recommendation from friends we decided to give it a visit. The staff were very polite and welcoming and the food was excellent. We had three main dishes and 3 free starters as it was Thursday. James attended to us and was amazing in his attitude and service. Will definitely be coming back 😊.

Went to The Crane yesterday for Mothering Sunday. Took my Wife, Mom and Nan for a meal. The whole experience was lovely. The service was brilliant from start to finish. When arriving at the pub we was meet by Jo who showed us to our table. After look through the menu, we went to order at the bar. We was served by Erica ( thank god for name badges) she advices of the Sunday deals on and the special desserts for that day. We got offered all the drink offers extra £1 for a double and 2 £5 on the bottle we ordered. The food came out quite quick considering they was busy. It was hot and tasty, thank you to the chefs. Shannon served us and couldn’t be more helpful, getting us are sauces and looking for salt. The over all visit was very very good. Thank you all involved.

One of the best places locally to get good food and drink at decent prices! The atmosphere here has changed drastically over the past year for the better.. it's obvious that under the new, experienced and professional management the whole place runs so much smoother. So this week, we was given a 3 hours to help get my cousins surprise gender reveal set up and good to go! The Crane was more than accommodating, helping us to set up for 14 people on such short notice. Erica went above and beyond allowing us to decorate the area with balloons, confetti and banners. Erica even helped us find the perfect spot in the outdoor area where we could set off the confetti canons! Although we offered to help clean up, we told not to worry and they would do it! Thank you again for a wonderful evening!!

Visit this Pub a lot, it is a lot more family friendly and welcoming than it has been previously. Love the steaks and menu here and they have plenty choice of beers! Went to a Michael Bublé tribute act here on Christmas eve, was a really lively night, good to see entertainment back on here!

Absolutely incredible evening fantastic food amazing staff and spotlessly clean. The whole family enjoyed there starters mains and puds and will definitely be returning. The Christmas themed entertainment for kids was a lovely touch and made what was a fantastic meal a really fun day for the whole family can't wait to return.

I have been drinking in the crane since I was 17, seen all types of managers come and go and I can honestly say the way the girls (jo and gorgie) have came in and turned this pub around is unreal. They have turned it into a family pub with great entertainment for all to enjoy. Their team of staff are a credit to them. Each and everyone are always happy smiling and do all they can to keep the customers happy. Overall fantastic pub, great food, and the best pub managers I know. Great jobs girls! Visited here yesterday after hearing the pub had been took over by new management, the food was amazing arrived quickly and the steak I ordered was cooked to perfection so compliments to the chef, every member of staff to the bar staff and the waitress were excellent,will be recommending this pub to family and friends.

I've been coming to this pub for the past few months. Cracking pub. Entertainment is great only sad thing is they have cancelled the garage night. This was something myself and gf was looking forward to. We look forward to seeing what other entertainment will be on but if u want a few drinks nice atmosphere and a dj then get yourself down here on a Friday night. We have made some great friends who we meet up with for a few drinks regularly. The staff are great too always greated with a smile.

I visited the crane on the 7th of March, and I can say that the food was amazing staff was lovely, and really helpful.. I used to drink in this pub when I was 19.. and since returning a few weeks back I can honestly say the new manger has turned this place around for the better there’s entertainment every weekend without fail.. This is not dissimilar to any other hungry horse, you go in, find a table yourself and order food and drinks at the bar. The waiting times are OK and the service is good. The food is OK, it isn't exactly fine dining, but it is incredibly good value for money. Can't complain given how much we paid for large portions of food at a franchise. It is better value for money to come during the week, but on the weekend they usually have a more family oriented crowd.

Had a excellent meal at lunch time a few weeks ago the vimto burger , went tonight and ordered the new York chicken, to be honest very disappointed the chicken breasts were more like nuggets and very over cooked could only eat the middle bit, would have returned if asked how meal was, next time will just stick to a burger . Usually my food from here is fresh and I've never had a complaint. Today I had a beef dinner and the beef was deffo microwaved. It was supposed to be 'hand carved beef'.. but it tasted like it was carved off a rubber cow. Everything else on the plate was 10/10

Amazing place! Had a "working" lunch here and I have to say the food, drinks, service and staff are second to none. Didn't pre-order as it was pre-lunch so they weren't busy but after 1:30pm they got fairly busy but not overtly so. I used the Greene King App to order and it was fairly easy and straightforward. Food came really quickly and it was perfectly cooked and a decent size portion, very tasty as well. I ordered the Sirloin steak and it was cooked as ordered. Drinks selection is good even for non alcoholic drinks (as I was working). I also had a coffee and dessert and it was again tasty and good. The Staff were very welcoming and attentive throughout especially Cheryl and Naomi. Used the free WiFi to connect my Laptop without issues and was able to work in relative peace in a corner. Toilet facilities were very clean. Would definitely recommend this place to everyon and I will be back. 😀

I arrived at the pub nice and quiet sat near back door and I ordered chicken new yorker with very crispy bacon and sauce separate when the food came out I noticed my partner didn't get his onion rings and without saying anything Andy the kitchen manager heard us talking and ordered the onion rings for us then when my dinner came out the bacon was far from crispy and again Andy went in the kitchen and rectified my dish then I forgot to order my free dessert with a big plate special and Toni the Team leader sorted I totally recommend this place and they turned what could have been a negative experience to a very positive one so thank you guys will be back again soon.

Clean welcoming environment the gentleman on reception welcomed us i wish I knew his name as he was lovely all I know he had half head blonde and half head black he was extremely helpful. We booked a table, when we turned up shown straight to our table. Ordered our food and drinks with no problem, prices for the Tuesday Big Plate Specials are great. £5 for a huge meal. Went here for the first time, not impressed with the area table layout for our party, however there was 21 of us. Some of the menus where absolutely disgusting with old food and drink stains all over them. When the cutlery came out the sauce bottles where empty, don't see the point of giving customers empty bottles. The staff where brilliant, the bar lady made sure the party members ordered through her, she made sure we all got our meals together. 45 minute wait for food however it all started to come out after 15 minutes. Bar had good selection of drinks, staff great, good play area for kids out side it was secure. Food was great, came out hot, tasted great price was very good, big let down of night was people smoking dope out the front of pub, would like to go back but maybe in an afternoon instead of night.

Booked a table for 10 people, all with very different tastes. Service was very pleasant, all being a little slow. All the food arrived piping hot. There is a a lovely garden /smoking area which is great in the summer. Unfortunately it was a wet December night when we went. There is a disabled toilet and also if you go around the back door and through the bar. This is also disabled access. The ladies and gents toilets were both very clean. They have some good meal offers, which differ from the depending on which night you go.

After an initial bad experience last week we were offered an opportunity to revisit The Crane and have to say what a truly pleasant experience we had. Our meals were excellent served on hot plates. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating to our needs as disabled customers at all times. We had desserts as well. Excellent choice of both mains and desserts. Excellent to exceptional service by the staff. Thank you Sabrina and colleagues we will see you again soon. :-)

Nice clean and welcoming pub. Staff friendly and full of smiles. Food is cheap and generous sized portions. I had a combo meal resulting in burger, wings and steak. I smashed the lot and considered pudding but didn't think it was wise facing the drive back in the heat. 4 adults a drink each and a meal each just over £40. Ample parking and free of course. Fully recommend this place if you fancy a nice meal out if give more than 5 stars if I could just for getting my steak cooked right !!!

Love coming to this pub, it has a friendly atmosphere, for both single people, couples and families, and I have never had a problem with the food, always came pipping hot, and correct. Only thing i will say, is if your ever going to come here on a Sunday, ring up and make a reservation first! Otherwise you could wait up to an hour to order as it gets very busy. Lovely pub overall and lovely staff!

Two years ago in 2017. Not my usual haunt but found The Crane to be rather pleasant. It's a chain pub restaurant with the usual lower end menu. Some are brilliant but some are downright hostile and others will try to take your plate away whilst you're still eating. We use this pub on a regular basis for lunch. I will be honest the standard in the food has gone down. We sometimes go for sunday dinner, two roasts for £10. On a few occasions now the vegetables have been hard. Today 1st September we ordered two chicken roast dinners asking for soft vegetables, the dinners came out luke warm the vegetables rock solid and no stuffing with only one piece of chicken, when there is normally two. We sent it back and it came back out after a quick microwave blast tbh. Sent it back again was told the kitchen would do another dinner. The same two dinners came back out even colder with a side plate of veg. We got our money back and went down the road for a carvery. We are regular visitors to the crane, but no more as the kitchen staff just don't seem to care about the standard that they are sending the food out of the kitchen. There seems to be a high turnover of kitchen staff lately, so maybe this is the problem as they are always advertising vacancies.

After dinner I told my kids they could go outside to play on the playground if they are all their dinner which they did but outdoors were closed. The Crane has just reopened after a two week+ refurb. I went last evening and was very disappointed. The alterations and decor are very tasteful, BUT the architects have completely changed the theme of what was a 'local' pub. Previously, The dining layout afforded an amount of privacy and calm wherever one sat. Not now. The booths have gone. The pub has been segregated into three distinct areas, and the central dining area is open plan, with some tiny tables. Seems like you are in a college canteen. Very noisy. Also, I was told they had extra staff, but I can tell you l had to wait a long time for a drink. Before the refurb, there has been problems with the ice machine. That still is the case. WHAT??? The brewery spend lots of dosh on a massive refurb and fail to replace the cronky ice maker. They have also got rid of the optics. Why?? I had to wait while the barmaid (manager SABRINA actually) poured Bacardi into a measure. That is going to cause massive delays at busy times. All in all, an abject failure. All I spoke with agreed and didn't like it. I used to drink and dine there 3 days a week. Not any more.
