Had a really great time here the other week. The service was really good and all the staff are really nice! even joking about with us. Looks like they had fun working there! Great selection of drinks too, I had the Mango IPA which is excellent and my wife had a house white which she loved too. Recommended!

Has now been my local for many years and has grown into one of my favourite places to visit for a drink and food. There's a loyal local customer base and everyone's generally friendly. The bar staff are congenial and come to recognise you after a while which is what you want. The food menu changes up regularly enough to keep it interesting. Quality of the food is pretty good. Had the chicken wings a few times. Some busy nights you can wait a bit longer, but that's the same at any pub. As it's a small pub, the drinks selection is not massive, but unless you want to make a night of sampling 10 different guest ales, you'll probably be okay. They have a reasonable selection of cocktails which they'll make by the glass or pitcher. That's a lot of fun. Even before Covid, the pub has done a lot to refurb the outside space to make it all-weather conducive to outside drinking and eating. The effort is appreciated. The tudor style design is carried through outside and in. Makes for a charming experience. Been many times and will likely go again.

Been here quite a few times now over the past 5 years, a friend of mine lives near by. I especially like the beer garden lots of space and always looks nice and looked after garden area. Only thing I'd improve on would be the selection of Ciders being a cider drinker Strongbow isn't my favorite and the bottle ciders there isn't much selection. Having a Thatchers would make me stay alot longer ha. But overall very good pub and friendly staff and the food is to a decent level from what I can remember.

I've walked past this pub countless times on a circular walk I regularly do. Didn't realise they had a garden until a work friend mentioned it. Attended for christening party yesterday. Lovely quaint little pub. Party was in the outside area which was beautifully decorated and cosy with indoor heating. Buffet had excellent choice of vegan options. I dont live in the area but would certaintly visit again when visiting family and perhaps order a meal and would certaintly recommend outdoor garden for next summer.

I love this pub but PLEASE PLEASE instead of constantly sanatizing your tables with a cloth and leaving dirty residue that im sure is safe get a tub of hot soapy water and clean the tables.. They are thick with sticky residue and your hands n clothes stick to tables. Bucket of hot soapy old fashioned cleaning and job done. I hate leaving negative comments. ❤️

Came here as it was recommended to us but won't be back. The table was sticky the paper menus stuck to it and teared. The food is cheap in price and the "quality" reflects this...there is a £2 supplement for the pie but I'm not sure what this is for as it's the smallest wedge of pie with grey peas, hardly any gravy and dry mash. For the price you don't expect gourmet obviously but all the meals seem to be nuked in the microwave. This place has potential so its a shame but we felt uncomfortable and wont be back

Not been there for several years..city old fashioned pub...small but very inviting and pleasant..varied menu..reasonable prices. Food arrived quite quickly. I had Gammon searved with 2x fried eggs peas and tomato good sized portion. My wife cod and chips. .peas and side salad..obviously enjoyed as plate cleared. Staff very nice and helpful..outdoor seating area...would have been yard years gone by. Really enjoyed my Sunday lunch there. .would recommend a visit.

No need for loud live music in such a small pub. Beer decently priced and good. Music intruded into the 'quieter' lounge. This is a perfectly good lunchtime pub for a quiet pint but forget the evenings, when the management seem to think that playing music amounts to a good atmosphere. An all-too-common mistake.

My party of four had a delicious Christmas meal served with care. Real Turkey too! Staff are very friendly, efficient & obliging, nothing is too much trouble, also price was very reasonable. Room was warm, welcoming & dining furniture comfortable. We all enjoyed the occasion & would not hesitate to recommend this lovely restaurant & bar which is more roomy than it appears, in a beautiful listed building, situated on a corner opposite Saint Laurence's Church. There is ample parking in the car park of the Pastoral centre which is opposite the entrance to the Great Stone Inn.

Lovely little pub that feels like a little village pub in the sticks, even though it's an oasis amongst the spralling metropolis of suburban Birmingham! Centuries of history, decent selection of beers, wines and spirits and a cosy friendly atmosphere. Food is decent and very reasonably priced - proud to call this my local! 😊

Great classic pub. Low ceilings and a slightly uneven floor combine with classic features to create a great cosy environment for a drink. There is a good selection of draught ale that changes regularly and the food is cheap and great quality. Perfect place for a quiet night out (apart from Friday nights, can be pretty difficult to find a table from 5-8pm)
