After plenty of searching for a good pub, we eventually came across the green man (on 09.02.22). The entire visit from start to finish was fantastic. On arrival, we parked next door where you can get free parking if you are guests to the pub (just pop your registration in the terminal at the bar when ordering). So this was a nice added plus, not having to scurry around for change for parking. When we entered, staff were welcoming and friendly. We were served straight away, and ordered drinks while we decided what food to order (I had a Coors, and my partner a Stowford Press - both were fresh and crisp!) We sat in a lovely corner of the pub whikst flicking through the menu and admiring the beautiful decor (wooden beams, warm lighting, fantastic and quirky artwork). There was plenty to choose from on the menu, all priced very reasonably. As a pescetarian, there was a whole menu for veggie options for me to choose from (and some fishy options too from the main menu) whilst my partner opted for the fixed price menu. For starters we shared the salt & pepper calamari and the Parsley breaded mushrooms - both were lovely with delicious accompanying dips and the portioning was fantastic! Once we finished the staff were on the ball and cleared our plates ready for the mains. I opted for the Vegetarian Toad in the Hole - 3 delicious veggie sausages (really tasty!) ontop of a bed of mashed potato stuffed inside of a huge Yorkshire pudding and a side of veggies. Very nice! My partner had the Gammon & Chips and he was extatic! The first time we've managed to find somewhere that offers both pineapple and egg with the gammon, which was a lovely surprise for him. Also the cut of gammon is immense! Really thick and he said it tasted amazing. Overall the service was outstanding, the food insanely delicious, the vibe was very cosy and homely. We really can't wait to visit again!

Me and my father visit here very regularly. We went for dinner on Wednesday evening and I have to say we were very disappointed with the level of service we received. The first table we sat at had no lighting, so much so, neither of us could read the menu, luckily we managed to move as another table left. When I raised it with the gentleman behind the bar his response was "I don't control the lighting".... okay. I wasn't complaining, I simply mentioned we had moved tables (as we had opened a tab) because there was no lighting at the table we had initially sat down at. I went to order our food and this took a fair while as someone had closed our tab and charged another table for our drinks. When I came to order the original item my father wanted was out of stock so I returned to the table to find out something else he would want. When I returned to the bar to order I was told this was also out of stock.... I then had to ask what else was unavailable - having worked in hospitality for many years myself I would have hoped they would have given me this list (there were about 6 items out of stock) before I returned to the table the first time, not that I would have to ask for them. Eventually, I am able to order our meals - we waiting 45 minutes for our food. I don't mind waiting but I'm not sure why we weren't advised at the time of ordering that there was a wait. The food tasted great and the waitress serving us was lovely. The gentleman behind the bar needs to work on his manners and customer service in our opinion. I am not sure if it is under new management for if this person was new but it has to be raised and it has definitely changed our opinion on whether to return

8 of us had brunch at The Green Man on Saturday morning. All the food was lovely and very good value. A varied menu to choose from and everyone enjoyed their meals. Good choice of hot and cold drinks too. Free parking, clean, comfortable and friendly staff. Would recommend

Service from all staff on my visit on Friday 10 June evening was outstanding. Have not had as good service in a long time. I will return for sure. Recommended the fixed price menu that was available. Great selection of keg and cask drinks too

We visited the Green Man yesterday with our 20 week old puppy. We initially sat in the beer garden however we was welcomed into the bar area inside which made our meeting with friends a lot more comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming and even brought us water over for our puppy when we got in there and made a fuss of our baby. Our other friend brought her 2 dogs and again there was no problems with this. There was around 7 of us and we all truly enjoyed our visit to The Green Man. We ordered food which was very nice and quick service despite it being busy. The pub itself was very modern and clean. This was our first visit to Harbourne and we’re already discussing between us about coming back to the Green Man with out little fur babies in the near future. Thank you for being so welcoming! Really recommended.

Nice pub... Good selection of usual beers, wines etc etc... No sport TV. No music.. Although l did pop in on a Tuesday night.. England were playing.. But a good venue, does food, make sure you register your motor on the car park.. Civilised, pleased to see you place..

Visited today for Sunday Lunch. Waitresses are friendly but the man behind the bar could of been a bit friendlier. My review of the food is that it was nice but could do with more potatoes. Only given a couple of roasties. Maybe mash would be a better option?

Enjoyed a lovely festive lunch meal on 10 December. The staff were friendly. The meal was excellent quality and value for money. I especially enjoyed the maple and root vegetable soup. The atmosphere was great and welcoming.

The service was very good despite being very busy with Sunday lunches. Having to have Turkey instead of roast beef was disappointing. It was the only disappointment though. The prices were very good as was the quality of the food. We particularly liked the big discounts for adding a starter and or dessert for £2 each (at the time of writing). And the 3 course, appetite dependent, selections for the children, which were excellent, by the way. The grandchildren were happy and that made the day for us. . BTW, if you use the car park, don't forget to enter your registration in the pub's parking machine. I think it is to ensure that only pub patrons get free parking. As we are from Warwickshire and had visited the Botanical Gardens, we were parked elsewhere, hence the uncertainty.

Ok its a ember inn part of a pub chain food ok but its a bit lacking in personality it used to be quite warm and welcoming. But on this vist we found it a bit bland .for example they have replaced the wood burning fires with plastic coal effect ones , that did nothing to create a atmosphere

Great pub. I spent a couple of hours here with my son and family. The staff were friendly and food was good. Not much more you could ask for

We were invited down to the pub by one of your regulars and to be honest felt you let him down. When we arrived was empty but gradually picked up. We all kept being told order from App which none of us wanted. Food order was taken but took a while to get the attention of a server. Meals were average at best the two Sunday roasts came on a massive plate but only food on half it, not much meat so a real disappointment. 3 of us had burgers which tbh were good. My daughter had carbonara with added chicken and said it was good because of the added chicken we had to pay extra for other than that quite bland. We then decided to ask for desserts and it took ages and then after flagging down a server she took our order and after another server came to take our order. Another server or busser a young girl ( ponytail) was a little bit rude to our friends when she wanted dessert and was told order on the app when it was just as quick to take the order on the spot. A lot of money was spent by one of your regulars by inviting family from Staffordshire and it’s him you’ve let down. Shame as could have been a more regular event but from today’s service and food quality there are better options.

This was our favorite neighborhood pub, up until today. We went back for indoor dining after the lockdown measures were lifted. Reserved through FB. Beer, food and ambience was enjoyable. However whilst on our 3rd pint, the lady at the door (who had initially showed us in) informed us that the table was needed in 15 mins as reservations are for 2 hrs. Fair enough and we had no bones about it. However it was disappointing that this was not informed to us in advance at any point. What also struck us as odd was that few tables around us that were occupied by larger groups before we had arrived were not told to vacate and continued to enjoy their evening without being told to scoot because of a looming 2 hour limit. Not sure why we were singled out. Perhaps we are better off hopping over to plough or any other pub down the street.

A pleasant pub with a nice feel. The layout and decor felt nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. We ordered some food which was delivered quickly, was hot and tasty. The menu choice is good with plenty of options but not too much to make it confusing. Overall I would visit again.

I hadn't been to this pub in years, and remembered it for really good food. We popped in for a quick pint, the place is still nice with friendly staff. The only problem I had a was a couple ale pints being off/tasting weird, the bar server was very happy to replace them each time, I was satisfied. I'll be looking forward to returning to sample the food next time.

I came in for desert one evening after my meal which we had else where. I had the coconut ice cream and my mate had the triple ice cream option. It was creamy milky the coconut flavour was surprisingly pronounced and it wasn't too sweet. I was impressed. The young gentleman serving us was friendly and helpful. So 5 stars! :)

A decent local pub with a warm atmosphere. Open fireplaces are always a nice addition in the winter. I like that they choose not to have background music all the time so you don't have to shout over it to have a conversation (unlike some other pubs in the area). Having had lunch here on a Sunday, the roast was decent but the chicken was a bit dry. The Good choice of beer and ales. The cocktails are okay, but aren't anything to write home about. In general, this pub is really good value for money, attracting both locals and students alike.

Resumed our regular Friday night social on the 10th of July. Had been a bit apprehensive about precautions but everything was very well organised Booked a table on the app. quite easily and was greeted at the entrance by Matt, the manager. He explained the procedures and safety precautions. Getting drinks was easy and 2m rule was well marked. The spacing was perfect and when we had food the server was careful ard helpful. Nice pub and fair prices for harbourne. There is a wide range of beers and spirits and well a a good pub food menu. The Covid protocols are very good and you can book a table as well as walk in. Its run by Ember Inns so has a uniformity that runs throughout the band. The stuff are very friendly and welcoming. There is a large car park attached to the pub and a good sized outside eating/beer garden. Accessibility is very good and there are lots of options to continue a night out in the local area

An off chance visit but was pleasantly surprised. Had a refurb in January and only been in once before. On this second visit we had food which was pretty good. A 3 course menu before 5 p.m. was only £9.79 which was very good value, in fact there was plenty of choice including vegetarian options. Drinks were reasonably priced too. Decor was modern, pleasant atmosphere and staff were very good too. The Green Man has really upped its game since the refurb and would recommend a visit.

Went for cocktails with a friend Saturday afternoon and decided to start off at The Green Man on Harborne High Street. You can only arrive and exit through the car park door now which was fine by us. Social distancing and cleanliness was well sorted. We ordered a Mojito each from a rather miserable bar maid and took them to a table. We both drank our cocktails and simultaneously agreed that we couldn't taste any rum and there was no mint in the glass either. The lack of taste wasnt due to us having Coronavirus btw as we have both had it months ago. We then decided wine would be a better bet as it can't be 'watered down' and we ordered 2 starters with the wine which we enjoyed.

I went to the green man yesterday with a group of friends yesterday, friendly atmosphere and nice staff . It was a shame the pub did not offer food but there was a food market but not keen on the food on offer. I had a mojito not your normal mojito but a raspberry mojito it was not good ,4 of us tried it and did tell the staff member when she was collecting the glasses that it was awful. I come to this pub a lot so if you could improve the cocktails that would be great.

The gin list is very helpful with decision making, the staff were helpful in terms of tonic recommendations as there is quite a range at the Green Man, both of Gin and Tonics :). Friends had coffees and they rated these highly too.

We visited The Green Man in mid November with friends..we had a 20% discount voucher from the AA so decided to have a tab for our food and drinks.. when we came to settle our tab.. we found that the bill was very confusing.. showing 20% vat, we were overcharged on the drinks! Which we pointed out, and they refunded us for that, but we're still not sure if we received 20% off or not.... will certainly not set up a tab again that's for sure. Very disappointing indeed.
