What a great place! Prices with the usual city centre hike and card only for £10 and over. Great DJ playing classic rock, unfortunately we decided to go back later only to find there was a charge of £4 on the door for after 9pm.... and it was rammed... so get in early! Ben on the bar is a great fella!

Really awesome Rock bar!! Music was ace and everyone who worked there was super friendly. Definitely a place my partner and I will be visiting again! Clean and reasonably priced drinks can't comment on the smoking area as I'm a non smoker but it looked awesome out there from what I could see.

A great rock pub in the center of Brum. While it only really starts to fill up after midnight, it's good place to hang out, drinking and listening to the rock playlist. There is a nice vibe, between the staff and customers, creating a chilled mood. Lovely!

Great bar for anyone who likes any alt music. Dj was taking requests and playing whatever was requested. Bar was so cheap. Min £10 on card was a bit annoying. They had pool tables. Staff were friendly and plenty on so you were never waiting long. Big outside smoking area

I came here for the first time since it moved to Digbeth (and I'd only been a couple times before in Birmingham town) and it was better than I ever expected. I was really nervous at first but everybody there was so welcoming and kind and it's just not like any other bar I've ever been to. I went with my co-worker on student night, and worried I would be out of place (I've not been a student for a few years) but the people there were just my kind of people, I finally felt like I fit in somewhere! The DJ was amazing, the tunes were great and despite my anxieties I ended up getting up and rockin' to the music and loved every second. Don't usually let my hair down so it was refreshing and liberating to be able to here. I'll definitely be returning!

It was my first time out drinking and my friend suggested Subside. It was amazing. The atmosphere was brilliant, really cool design, proper good rock music, great drinks and great deals. The service and staff is the highlight. Friendly staff all night, i got a little drunk but they kept checking up on me and got me some nice cold water. Each one treated me with alot of respect. If your looking for night out, with cheap drinks, decent live music and amazing service. Come to the Subside bar!

Dinghy and wonderful just how we like it 🖤 great tunes, great atmosphere, bar staff are always on it, door men and brilliant and do a smashing job of keeping out the nobs or sorting anything messy out quickly, drink are fairly priced and they keep on top of the toilets really well for a club that's open so late and is really busy all the time. No drama, no fuss, just good old fun.

Went here last Friday with my mate on the 5th, no need for fireworks that night man! Didn't think it was still possible to have a good night like that out in Brum still. Suggest the PA is improved my Nan has better speakers and sounds out of phase generally flat sounding ( it's a music bar right sort the sound out) Food. Buy a turbochef and offer simple bar snacks. Great and safe bar to visit just next to digbeth custard factory, and coach station. The staff are really fast serving here.

Went here after visiting NQ64 around the corner - had loads of recommendations to go here but as I don't visit brum that often never had the chance. Love the people and atmosphere here. They have a good range of drinks with some good offers. The music is good and there is some space to dance. Maybe a little bit pricey to get in, but really there is no where else open that late. They even do breakfast if you make it to 6am.

Anywhere that you can rely on to be open for a few more beers after last orders is a winner in my book, ok beer and good prices considered most places that open so late would normally add a premium on the drinks because of it. If you're looking for a pint and a game of pool at 4am, this is your spot. Great atmosphere with friendly clientele. Professional bouncers and covered, heated smoking area. Also features a dance floor for when your favourite Slipknot track comes on.

Fantastic night out for anyone who enjoys Rock or Metal. Wide range of drinks, including Cask/Craft beer, at good prices, often have some great offers on too! Pool tables on hand, and some sweet live music from time to time. Staff are helpful and friendly (often recommend the good offers) and occasionally put on spontaneous deals to keep the party going. Generally open until 6 on a weekend so fantastic for anyone who likes to keep it going all night!

My first time at this venue and my first experience of seeing/experiencing Burlesque performances. The venue was well managed with friendly and polite staff members. Drink prices were very reasonable. As for the entertainment, all I can say is Wow! Absolutely incredible art form hosted by Vixen, who like all of the acts was completely mesmerising. Keep up the good work Subside bar. I'll definitely be back!

If you like metal or a 'dirty rock bar' then this is definitely the place for you. There is 2 pool tables and an outside smoking area. Drinks are dirt cheap, and the music is as you would expect. Definitely worth a visit if you are thinking of going before or after the HMV Institute. Wednesday night is student night with insanely cheap drinks and no entry fee.

This place is awesome!! Brilliant music not just the same thing over and over like other bars. Cheap drinks they do food. drinking competitions, friendly staff and brilliant atmosphere. Best place for any rocker, Goth or metal head. Even the bouncers are awesome guys no hassle, just have a good time mate and bring us a MacDonalds 😂😃 ( I had MacDonalds with me). Walking up to the bar I wasn't expecting much from it, how wrong was I. Once I was inside the bar staff were super friendly and catering, they were able to recommend suitable drinks to me and my friend and they even came over to our table to have friendly chats with us. The customer service was great. The toilets weren't the cleanest and one of them didn't have a light working but they wasn't the worst I've been too. The drinks prices were also rather cheap compared to other bars I'd been too.

The new location is brighter than previous place. It has a bigger smoking area out the back with a shelter and heat lamps during the colder nights. There is two pool tables now instead of just the one and ATM inside the venue so you don't have to go outside and try and find a cash machine. It has a taxi rank outside when you are ready to go home. The security is friendly and the staff has an abundance of energy to serve you drinks and entertain you throughout the night.

This place prides itself on being one of the best alternative bars in Birmingham and they do a mighty fine job. Music is as you would expect, graffiti in the toilets is entertaining, pool tables are in good condition, smoking area is well equipped with heat lamps and weather shelter. They change up their drinks menu regularly, offer food, cocktails, and always friendly faces behind the bar.

The staff here are really kind, never had any complaints. Sometimes on a Friday and Saturday it can get a little roudy and loud but if you like that energy then this is the place for you. They play good rock music and I believe they hold local musicians I'm not 100% sure though. I think after a certain time you have to pay entry so bring a fiver extra just in case. Drinks here can be really cheap for example a cherry sourz and coke is £1.50 and I think a energy drink and sourz is £1. Minimum spend on card though so I'd recommend bringing cash. There is a cash withdrawal machine here but i think it charges like £1-£2 for getting money out. And it's not too far from Birmingham centre. Here there is an outside seating area, 2 pool tables and a boxing machine.

Drove down from Rotherham yesterday to see a band called Halfnoise at the O2 academy, my pal came up from Plymouth on a 5 hour coach ride bless her. We were incredibly excited for the gig so you can imagine my surprise while we were eating korean food when my pal told me we had come down a day too early for the gig. I nearly choked on my chopstick. Anyway, we thought we'd make the best of a bad situation and sample the local nightlife to drown out the realisation of our immeasurable stupidity with good vibes and good beer. I work with a gobby Brummy lass called Ceri and asked for her advice on what places might offer the sort of thing we were looking for and she immediately jumped in with Subside. The staff are incredibly friendly, the patrons were too. It was a reyt laugh. Excellent songs playing out and the fact there was a pool table just made my day. Plus there was one of them punchy machine things you see in arcades with a high recorded score of 943. I got 807 which isn't too bad for a skinny dude who weighs about 50lbs soaking wet with a brick in each pocket. Really fun night to be had here!

I haven't had this much fun since BAR ISN'T IT in Osaka in 1996. It rocked. Matt is a fantastic DJ. I was so happy when he played IN THE SHADOWS by THE RASMUS. Then I saw on the monitor screen that my friend's band OVERLAPS (they supported The Rasmus on the Dark Matters Tour 2018), are coming to SUBSIDE on May 8th. Make sure you don't miss out. It's going to be huge.

Great service and staff very attentive towards disabled people but the shocking state of the disabled toilet is a disgrace, it's blocked all the time and over flowing, the music wasn't for everyone's taste but being a rock/alternative bar, it's more alternative than rock and some of the music is very hard core, don't go if this is not your thing, but good if you like the alternative scene, only reason I scored a 3 was because of the toilet not the actual venue

We went here following a gig at the o2 institute which is just across the road. On showing gig tickets we recieved discounted entry into the bar. Door staff were very friendly.
