Started going here last Tuesday for takeaways and really like there 'Daily Deals'. Particularly like you get a free drink and I've been having their vast choice of Liqueur Coffees, lovely. Butternut & chickpea burger with proper chips (not fries) one of my favourites. Staff really friendly. Good size carpark. Excellent pub & carvery, Sky TV Good choice for families and singles. I don't drink but if I did this would be my local.

Came in with my husband and kids and wow what a lovely afternoon we had there. The manager/supervisor (usually from a different pub) was so welcoming, polite and helpful. Even while dealing with an aggressive customer at the bar. The other member of staff on was so great with the kids and getting them colouring for an Easter competition which after a wonderful meal took the children to show them where she was putting them up on the wall. There is so much more pleasant things I could write. Honestly the best pub outing we have ever had and look forward to visiting again. Thank you so much for everything and making my children's day 😊

Four of us went for breakfast this morning, 2 adults, 2 kids, we received a friendly welcome from the lovely Coral, had a little natter with her and she couldn't have been any nicer, the chef was really helpful letting us know when there was more food put out, which she didn't need to worry as we had more than enough, but it was very sweet of chef to let us know, great value for money, kids loved it, we left there full up and very happy with the whole experience. It makes such a big difference when the staff are so lovely ☺️ x

Came with friends for a Sunday get-together and was very pleased with the experience. The.food was very good and the service friendly and quick. We were so comfortable we stayed for 6 hours and the group had a great time working their way through the cocktails menu which weren't too shabby. We'll be visiting again.

Came for food early Monday afternoon. Young lady in a black shirt and brown hair served us at the bar, she was extremely friendly and bubbly with a great smile and made us laugh. She recommended the carvery to us so gave that a try. The carvery itself was fantastic, meat was tender and nice selection of vegetables nicely presented. It was all nice and hot and hit the spot. The same lady who served us came to check on us to see if we were enjoying our food which is lovely to see, and to know they cared about the guests. Overall 5/5 for food quality and taste 5/5 for atmosphere in pub And 10/5 for the young lady who looked after us... She's a definite star. I hope she gets the credit she deserves

Not a bad little carvery to be fair. Meat was cooked beautifully, would of liked a bot more choice on the veg bit that's just a personal observation. Not had anything else to eat here so couldn't comment 👍 all in all......not a bad shout if you're hunting down somewhere for a carvery on a Sunday.

Lovely looking pub. Went on 27.03.2022 (Mothers Day). Sadly, food could've been a lot hotter, Mrs wasted half a plate. Had to wait for mash and barely any gravy in bowls/pots. Utensils used to put food onto plate were hot though, burned daughters hand. Gutted about the beef, it was chewy and inedible, am hoping this is a one off, but have seen other reviews mentioning this. Turkey and Gammon lovely though. I'm dying to try the pizza's 🍕 also. Never actually had a pint so I can't comment on the beer. I was on soft drinks that day lol. I may return soon in the hope I can alter or give a new review. As I say lovely looking pub, just the food was a big let down that day. Can they redeem themselves on my next visit?

Shame this isn't my local as I only get chance to come to Kings Heath a couple of times a year.👍❤️❤️. Recommended and great value for money. You can go large on the carvery for a bit more money. We booked the private area of the restaurant for a funeral wake it was an excellent sized private area for 30 guests. Tea and coffee was ready when we arrived and all our guests had a carvery meal which was perfect for our lunchtime event. The management, restaurant and bar staff were all brilliant and could not have been more accomadating. It would be a perfect private area for any small function such as a birthday, christening etc. Thankyou to all the staff you helped make a difficult day a little easier for us.

Had a Sunday carvery and the staff were kind, humourous and attentive. The food was great for a winter day and when my car battery failed upon leaving (or trying to) the manager went above and beyond to help us, he came out to check on us multiple times in the snow, gave us his own battery charging tool and even gave my Mom and Aunt a complimentary coffee to keep them warm and encouraged them to wait inside as we finally got the car started. In my experience not many bar managers are this kind and genuine when they don't have to be. Will definitely return for all of the reasons stated above.

Went for the Carvery mid week and the food was to and excellent standard. Front of house staff, Emma, was amazing and really looked after me and my friend. However, they were short of staff and did not start serving customers in the restaurant straight away - we had an approximate 10 minute wait. Reasons 1. they (all kitchen staff )were actioning a delivery received in the kitchen, and 2. Chef was serving a number of takeaways for Just Eat man who came in after me and my friend. Sadly is staff shortages are solved you will lose customers regardless of how good the food is.

For myself I ordered whitby scampi and chips and peas my friend ordered skinny margarita pizza....mine came 5-10 minutes before my friends..the peas were cold scampi was small ...my friends pizza just tasted of tomato puree and cheese..although it was 2 for 1 I wouldn't eat there again..one waitress very polite and cheerful the other a surly young girl with no manners. 3/10 👎👎💩

Nice place to eat before the refurbishment, refurbishment great. Great food before refurb, not so good after, meat was rather chewy (beef and pork), Yorkshire puds really crunchy (last 2 on tray) stuffing was dried out and hard. Roast potatoes tasted as though they had been hurried in being cooked and tasted as though they were almost burnt. Looks like new staff behind the bar too, tried the wifi and it dropped out, guy I spoke too didn't know much about the wi-fi as it dropped out when I used it. Luckily a female member of staff did and told me that it sometimes drops out. On the whole a bit of a disappointment going by my previous experience there. Today (25th April 2017) meal was a lot better than it was last time, good work cooks xx. Popped in yesterday (5th July 2019) for a drink and a meal, unfortunately the food section was closed, so I couldn't have a meal. Something to do with no veg?! Bit of a shame but there you go. Maybe next time.

I have visited the Crown pub many times in the afternoons for lunch with my son and it has always been a lovely experience, it's a very friendly place with good hygiene. The bar lady named AZ was particularly helpful and friendly, and made myself and my son feel very welcome. I would definitely recommend this pub and will be returning soon. Jennifer Brown

We took the kids for a Pizza at the Crown Kings Heath last night. I have to say that the kids thoroughly enjoyed the pizza! One particular member of staff (Emma) was so friendly and helpful and even took the time to help the children decide on desserts. Craig the manager was absolutely wounderful, he was constantly checking to see if we needed anything, carol the front off house waitress was amazing couldn’t have asked for a better service from her and Tina the cook was lovely she done everything to our needs and made sure we had the best experience- I have a severe nut allergy but nothing was a problem for Craig or carol they made sure they triple checked the ingredients and checked again.. really pleased with the experience me and my family received. My children were made to feel comfortable they was given colouring books to colour while they were waiting. Absolutely amazing experience thank you to the 3 staff that was on that day Craig, carol and Tina you made our experience a absolutely brilliant one.

Will give this establishment the benefit of the doubt. The food was delicious and the manager gave regular updates to when we could approach the carvery. Our table was booked for 1745. we arrived on time. An hour later we were still waiting to be called to the carvery.

Booked table Via app for a Sunday carvery. Had drinks whilst waited. Not sure why but there was a wait between arrival and collection of food, for which manager very apologetic. Table booked for 1745. Only the turkey appeared readily available. There was enough of the gammon and beef for possibly 2 diners. Nice mixture of freshly cooked vegetables etc n gravy. Sauces were in disposable pots on demand. Really enjoyed the food and will try again in the future to give the pub a chance. No reflection on this particular pub, but across the ones we've visited since the easing of lockdown, the furnishing and premises all have appeared tired and have been surprised that landlords have not taken advantage of the year long shut down, to refresh, repair and generally rejuvenate premises, cleaner carpets, repair or replacement furnishings etc

Attended The Crown today for our first meal out as a family after covid restrictions lifted some. The Crown adhered to infection prevention control measures regarding covid-19, without it dampening the experience for guests. Service was prompt and smooth, not needing to wait for anything. Staff were super friendly, both service staff and the chef. Our table was served by Lynette from start to finish; who couldn't have been more helpful. She was also great with my father in law who has had a stroke and struggles with communication. Delicious carvery, obviously the carvery is run a little differently as we can't go touching all serving utensils for veg and pots etc but this causes no problems whatsoever- still got a perfect portion & was even encouraged to have more. All in all, we had a lovely experience and a perfect first meal out after restrictions.

Managed to book a table for 8 at last minute as everywhere else was full. Found the pub on Google and wasn't disappointed. Staff very friendly and attentive, and food was excellent value for money. Majority of us had carvery which was superb, we were too full for pudding. Only reason it has 4 stars is because the men's toilets didn't smell too healthy but apart from that, would definitely recommend and will revisit.👍👍

Having not been for over a year I thought I'd take advantage of the 50% off deal with my husband and 3 youngest. Food... Almost perfect.. See pictures.. Everything was gorgeous except the chips which were old and felt warmed up.. Definitely not fresh. Nothing else could be faulted. 5 meals half price with 5 Pepsis totalled £31.24 a little steep but in this current climate not bad!! So 4 stars from us. We were served by two different girls one from the bar in blue and one in Black who brought our food out who were both lovely polite and attentive so we gave the one in blue behind the bar £5 to share with her Comrade.. Overall just over £36 spent.. Quality family time and really pleased with the Social distancing put in place.. Excellent service. We literally had a Qtr of the pub to ourselves. Highly recommended... Sort the chips out for my next visit and I'll up it to 5 stars 😁😁😁

Great staff that serve quickly and like to have a short chat with guests when quiet. The food is amazing and the fact that I can now get breakfast any day of the week again now is a bonus. They have karaoke every Thursday and some times entertainment on either a Saturday or a Friday. They also have good opening times on Friday and Saturday, they serve at the bar until 12am on those days.

I have to say that I was disappointed with visit today. Had a lovely experience there at end of August but today we had to wait a half hour for more Carvery meat and yokes to be brought out. Some of the meals were dry. Also a difference in menus meant that one of the party didn't expect seeds on the tart he had. Pleased that the manager listened to our concerns and gave us desserts for free but would much rather have good food available on time.

I stumbled upon this establishment while waiting for my appointment at the nearby chiropractor to have my back realigned. Walking in I was greeted by a very approachable young lady clearing plates called "Del". Before I could get any further I overheard the female chef being called "Nev". I'm not sure if this was an in-joke or not as I didn't hang around long enough to bump into Barry the barmaid. Anyway, "Del" couldn't have been nicer, as she reminded me immediately to put my car registration in on the tablet at the bar. This I would definitely have missed otherwise, as the signs in the car park are all in black not brightly coloured, and somewhat hidden by overgrown hedges. This is not a negative towards the pub however, as I'm already aware this is arranged by a separate outside company. At the bar, there was a nice selection of lagers both on tap and in bottles. I fancied a change to my usual so went for a Carling. I was pleasantly surprised as Carling usually tastes rotten in my opinion but the pint I had here tasted lovely. This tells me that the lines are regularly cleaned. Plus point!! I was feeling peckish so asked for a menu which at that very moment were being wiped over by another member of staff. Nothing worse than a sticky menu to read. At first the combination of carveries and pizzas seemed a little odd to me but thought what the hell! I decided to have a "Carvery Calzone". It was delicious! Who'd have thought stuffing a roast dinner inside pizza dough would be so delicious! Not good for the old waistline though lol! Food was served quickly, piping hot and juicy. I had to shoot off to my appointment at the back crackers so couldn't stay much longer but all in all, a wonderful experience. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area. Top marks!

Two family households booked at The Crown today for the father in laws 84th birthday. We were greeted by Craig the manager who explained the covid protocol very well and clearly. We were then taken to our tables were we were introduced to Az who kept us topped up with drinks with a smile and a bit of banter. Kat behind the bar kept Craig and Az supplied with drinks for the tables. We ordered food which everyone enjoyed. Loved the visit would recommend. Great afternoon.

This is my 2nd visit, 1st visit after the refurbishment. Gorgeous interior. Got to the bar and a lady acknowledged us waiting and said I'll be with you shortly. I said OK, thanks. Sat down after ordering and device went off for me to collect pizza not too long after. Atmosphere was good, place was immaculately clean. Attitude from staff was as if they wanted us to be there, not just because it's a eating place. Loved every part of the visit from start to when we left. Will DEFFO' be returning.

Been in today 3/2/2018 for our dinner we had 3 small carvery went to the carvery counter and looked at the meat that was there and 2 of the meats beef and pork were very dry as if there were cooked yesterday so I had sausage and mash and carrots but they were cold.and my mom and here partner said to the manager the meats not good to day and to be fair she said would you like something else so they had pie and chicken breast and we was chatting to Lyn and she said that they was not allowed to put the dryed meat in the bin as to me if you would not eat the meat your self why should customers eat the dry meat.so we was chatting Lyn and she told them to put fresh veg out and they did but they mix the cold veg in with the cold veg which is not good Lyn was great she sorted it out. So been back to the crown today 7/02/18 And it was excellent today nice beef as it was brought out fresh and veg was hot and cook lovely Will be back again soon. Keep it up Thank you

It is a nice place, we've been there on a Friday to have some food that was relatively good, veggies were a bit off probably because it was about 5pm and a little mention about the stuff that didn't seems very friendly or welcoming but the way around.

Imagine the scene, it was a cold and frosty January afternoon, wind was at Gail force strength, in the distance I spotted this building what a thought at first was a Toby Cavery, but to my pleasant surprise as I got closer I realised it was a Stonehouse! I knew my luck had changed at this instance. So, as I walked in the warm but vibrant atmosphere immediately made me feel in a better mood. I ordered my usually carling with a dash of white lemonade the lovely barmaid kat got the perfect ratio of larger to lemonade spot on first time. Spent the afternoon there and it was a fantastic experience I think everyone deserves to have. Highly Recommended.

Went to toby at 10:20am an they told me they were running out of everything an werent cooking anymore so i went to the crown. Been here several times for breakfast as my friend lives local to it, staff are always friendly an cant do enough for you very rare these days! More often than not lynda is on the bar, very down to earth chatty lady, the female chef is very much the same. The manager on today was called linda and the chef was called Steve, food was lovely as was the service, would highly recommend breakfast here :) ALSO; THEY HAVE A PLAY AREA! THEY HAVE A PLAY AREA!!! :D
